dirtymoney: am serving in ekiti state. ekiti east local govt to be more precise. when i got my posting letter and saw ekiti state. i almost cried cuz i spent a lot working my nysc to port harcourt. but after securing admission to do my post graduate at the ekiti state university ado ekiti, without nysc dispatch certificate! i knew ekiti state is the BEST THING that has ever happened to me.

during my days in camp, corp members in my platoon used to call me skippo. we used to hid under bed during parade and those boring lengthy lectures. i was block 2 room 1.... and i was well known in camp, cuz i was d guy that distabilized OBS sound systems, because of their frequent playing of wiz kid's songs. it was some how fun sha.

Stingy men, ugly town, zero infrastructure, nepa zero, ancient buildings everywhere and top of it all, security in ado-ekiti is zero! Cultists everywhere. Mine wasn't a great experience but I wish you guys a wonderful stay in the "land of honour".

queensmith: omo mehn spirit of okija is right, in fact it's even worse than it was before. as if there are absolutely no developments whatsoever. meanswhile the politicians are getting richer so money de. but i did see plenty of chinese people in ado, lol i chuckled what we will have done to see that when i was still in school.
theres also a good supply of electricity too, relatively constant as well much better than lagos sef.

LOL. Am not angry in any way. I'm just trying to dispel the notion or the grim picture you're painting about Ekiti in here. There's no point arguing back and forth. I'd say let the corp members go see for themselves. Whatever they can make of it is left to them. I say good luck to y'all once again. By the way, the orientation camp is in Ise'Ekiti. When you get to Ado Ekiti, just drop or tell the driver you're going to Old Garage. There, you'll get buses to take you to Ise'Ekiti. Don't know the bus fare though. (I should visit Ekiti myself soon jor). Have fun!

I'll be taking your comment lightly. Where is the arrogance in what I have just said. I even made it a point to tell that and or concur to some raised points by previous posters that things aren't that fine there. I said Ekiti doesn't have much money compared to other states. How is that arrogance? Pray tell. At any rate, subsequent posters have attested to the situation in Ekiti so its no biggie what mindset you've got there. I've been to other threads esp those of corp members posted to the north. Most of 'em are lamenting. For those posted to Ekiti or anywhere down south, I think what is more important is having your life and staying safe rather than looking for trouble all in the name of fun. When you're in rome, you behave like the Romans. Enjoy your stay there. God be with you all as you go.
