The Enugu-Eha-Alumona rural road is really nice looking.

Pls what assemble plant is that?

The standard for the new Enugu-Eha Alumona road should be the new standard for roads in Enugu state's countryside.

Beautifully constructed, with clear lane markings! Our green villages are nature's abode.

Afam, if my radar of Igbo landscape serves me right, i believe that Eha - Alumona use to be in Igboeze LGA of Enugu state. It could also be in Igbo- Etiti LGA. All these LGA's are in old Nsukka senatorial zone of Enugu state.
Other towns in the area are Aku, Opi, Oboloafor, Enugu- Ezike, Ede- Obala, Ogbudo- Abah, among others.

CFCfan: Off topic: The new Ibom airport international terminal will be completed in June 2014.

Will Igbos from Abia and possibly Imo state choose the Akwa Ibom international terminal?

It will be closer to the Igbos of Umuahia, Owerri and Aba than the one in Enugu.

Nebeuwa: I have a Marshall Plan for the entire East.

Enugu - Medical industry, education, tech hub

Aba - Main manufacturing base

Onitsha - Main trading houses, manufacturing, anything else commercial

Owerri - Education/Entertainment hub

Port Harcourt - Main port to export our goods and center of petroleum industry

Abakaliki - Farming powerhouse, the breadbasket center of the East

Calabar - Vacation/Tourism hotspot

Uyo - Tech hub

Leave Ikwerre people alone! They have made it clear that they aren't Igbo. How about Asaba ?

^^^My sentiments too! I'm not from Enugu as well, but i'd prefer that the entire Ndigbo (from all South East and South South states) focus on making Enugu a world class city. Something tells me this would be asking for too much, considering the divisions and abuse we notice on this thread.

This is where having one unified and homogenous state, government, and command structure would have served us well......like the old East Central State was.

And after building Enugu you people(you included because u be enugu guy) will probably deport all the Igbo like you did in 1991 after state creation ?

Ekweremmadu is right now warming up to take over from Chime. I don't know if that will go down well with Nsukka people who have been shut out from the corridors of power since Okechukwu Itanyi's time.

That behaviour of enugu people was really too bad,and didn't help Enugu, a situation where ndiigbo who had spent their lifetime helping to build enugu were sacked by their beloved enugu, only to be replaced by the so called indigenes, who had contributed little to nothing to the development of enugu, some of them were not even resident in Enugu, but were used to replace real enugu residents, in the name of indigene and non indigene stuff.

What guarantee does ndiigbo from other parts of igboland have, that after helping to make enugu great, that those nkanu people wont stand shouting : Shi a ghara anyi e! If it happened before, it can happen again.

That happened in the civil service it can't happen in business field. Majority of major investments in Enugu state today are not owned by Enugu indegenes.

However we need leader who think globally, beyond me and my towns men. That is the only way we can have serious development in alaigbo.

What happened in Enugu can happen anywhere. People will always take advantage of situations and it's very unfortunate. That's the Nigeria that we live in today where state of origin is more important than state of residence. Piority should be given to people who live in Enugu and not people who have Enugu origin. if you have Enugu origin then why are you not living in Enugu. You can't eat your cake and still have it. Governments across Nigeria should cater for people in their domain and not indigenes who may never have stepped foot in their so called state of origin. I for one have no more right than an Anambra or even Oyo person who lives in Enugu cos i don't live in Enugu but in the Nigeria that we live in today, i can go to Enugu anyday and usurp people that were born and lived their most of their lives cos they're not indegenes. But then again, i don't think the state government should take all the blame. I think a huge chunk of the blame should go to the leaders of these countries who are not serious with the whole unity thingy. While they use one side of their mouth to preach one-NIgeria, they use the other mouth to preach disunity through their actions.

It all boils down to the leader involved. That's why i was not surprised when Theo Orji sacked non-indigenes from the civil service. He's a village man and has this clannish disposition. A soludo or Rochas would not do something like that. I pray that if Biafra ever comes to fruition or if we go back to regionalism, a law should be passed to abolish state-of-origin like it's being interpreted. Your state of origin should be the state that you were born in or lived in or accepted to be part of.

So you follow dey do biafra? You want to be ruled by those touts that call themselves MASSOB? Rochas and Abia govt demonstrated some shallow thinking over transportation relocation some months ago.

I prefer biafra as a ideology rather than a physical country. It should be a mentality, a belief, a culture that unites igbos. A way of thinking that make an igbo man look out for his brother rather than envy him and find a way to kidnap or kill him to take over what is his.

It seems you did not see where i stated either biafra or eastern region in Nigeria. And i never mentioned Massob in my post. One can mention Biafra without Massob. Massob is just a group. My point is Igbos should learn to accomodate each other and do away with the state-of-origin BS if they ever have a chance to govern themselves as a unit in any capacity.

You must have been personally affected by the sack of non-indegenes of the Enugu civil service in 1991 when the state was created. Do you mind sharing cos i don't understand the kind of hate you have for Enugu. For an Anambra person, it seems very weird.
