Is that the welcome2lagos shanty homes? If it is, then it's a good development... These people need to be re-settled in their home states/ancestral villages.. 1 Like |

For security & environmental issues, it is ok but there is the need to provide a temporary abode for the displaced people. |

Deliberately or inadvertently creating joblessness and unrest in Lagos and enlarging the already existing crime and insecurity in the state. Besides those guys always fished people out from the water when there were accidents or crimes that involved people either falling off the bridge or being forced over it. Now while those services are not justifiable reasons for them to be left there, I don't know what plans were put in place to relocate them or provide alternative jobs considering those guys were doing lumbering business. Talk about a failed state living on past glory. Sadly the impact won't be felt by govt as more tax is being exacted from well meaning Nigerians like me and my ilk. God will help them. |

The international media houses always use that location to speak ill of Nigeria. I remember when Christian Purefoy was working for CNN, he used to use that place to talk rubbish about Lagos, even when he was living in Lekki and enjoying at the bars every weekend. Residents of that swamp are 99% foreigners mostly from Togo and Benin. They should be deported back to where they come from. 5 Likes |

It is people like you who will go and start posting pictures of Makoko on internet for world to see and say "This is Nigeria" . Those people deserve to be removed from that place and sent back to their villages for their own good and sake of their own health. Notice ko , notice ni. |

I find rather funny n in such awe how we Nigerians want things done right yet we condemn when such is implimented. On the subject matter, please note these people are illegal occupiers of this land who have contravened all known laws on land matters and committed crime against humanity. We even have a Government established there who sell and allocate the waterfront also appooint a Regent or Baale who presides over the Land. Such lawlessness must stop! Can anyone allow strangers to come and reside in your house just because they are poor? Illegality is not a friend to the rich or poor but for a law abiding citizen. I too won't mind to live in Osborne or Banana Island or Asokoro but since I can't afford to I live in a place legal and affordable 6 Likes |
