is it possible for the tory govt to bring a change in policy that may make it difficult for people with Indefinite leave to remain to move to the next level of British citizenship

I know someone who has had ILR since 1989.....( just curious)

Highly unlikely, ILR means you have the right to remain without revocation unless you commit a crime or other misdemeanour , just that you wont be entitled to some basic rights as a uk citizen but you get most of the key ones nonetheless
