1. Disappearances of Bermuda Triangle.




The Bermuda Triangle is one of the world’s greatest mysteries. Many scientists have attempted to theorize what makes the place so dangerous, but one thing is certain more planes and ships have disappeared there than anywhere else in the world. The Bermuda Triangle, also called the Devil’s Triangle takes up the space between Bermuda, Puerto Rico and the tip of Florida, in the Western part of the North Atlantic Ocean. People like to speculate many supernatural causes for the phenomenon such as alien activity or experiments.The first time the Bermuda Triangle was mentioned was by writer Vincent Gaddis in an article published in 1964 for Argosy magazine. Although there are plenty of unexplained disappearances in the area, it is also a heavily traveled area, and one of the busiest shipping routes. Cruise ships frequently enter the area as well as private boats traveling between Florida and the islands. Planes heading to the Caribbean or South American destinations from up north fly right through the Bermuda Triangle and in comparison not many flights have experiences anything unexplained.Some of the more interesting explanations for the bizarre section of ocean includes the idea of interference from leftover technology from the mythical city of Atlantis. More logical explanations have been considered by scientists and it is thought magnetic anomalies may exist in the Triangle which would affect the compasses. Another common explanation is the formation of methane hydrates (natural gas) on the continental shelves at the bottom of the ocean. Experiments have proven the bubbles created can sink a ship by making the water less buoyant and any debris left over from the wreck would quickly be carried off by the Gulf Stream, making it nearly impossible to find the vessel, butthis idea would account for airplanes and there are no reports of this happening in the Bermuda triangle in over 15,000 years.

Disappearances of Bermuda Triangle.

i. Flight 19, 1945.


Flight 19 was the title given to five TBM Avenger Torpedo Bombers that disappeared over the Bermuda Triangle, December 5, 1945 during a training flight. All 14 men on the flight disappeared without a trace. Later during the search, a Martin Mariner Flying Boat also disappeared over the water and was never found with 13 men on board.

ii. The USS Cyclops, 1918.


The USS Cyclops was a massive carrier ship that supplied fuel to the American feet in WWI. The ship set sail with 309 people on board and was full of heavy cargo. The ship was last heard from in Barbados where it stopped to load more cargo before making the final stretch of journey to Baltimore, where it was expected. It never arrived, a huge search initiative started covering the entire route of the Cyclops looking for leftover debris fearing the ship had fallen victim to the German Submarines. No trace of the ship was ever found and it makes for one of the largest losses of life in the Bermuda Triangle. In 1941, two of the Cyclops’s sister ships disappeared along the same route.

iii. Flight DC-3, 1948.

On December 28, 1948 a Douglas Dakota DC-3 airplane took off from Puerto Rico, heading for Miami, Florida. When it was 50 miles from the airport, the flight sent out its final radio call to indicate its position. There was only twenty minutes to go before landing, but the flight was never seen or heard from again. It had 26 people on board, and became the first Douglas Dakota aircraft to go missing in the Florida Keys. Since then, there have been two more cases all of themaround the same location in the string of islands just south of Florida.

iv. Flight 441, 1954.


Flight 441 was a huge US Military owned carrier aircraft which was one of the most successful models of all time. On the day it disappeared, it was flying 42 passengers, all naval officers and their families overseas. It was only 400 miles from the coast inside the Bermuda Triangle whenit simply vanished becoming one of the largest mysteries of the infamous spot to date. The investigation included the plane, weather and pilot capabilities but nothing was found that could point to how the plane disappeared. The plane’s cargo contained life rafts which would have floated on water if the plane broke apart on landing and would have been easily traceable. The pilot never even sent an SOS call.

v. Trislander 2008.


The most recent disappearance in the Bermuda Triangle was in 2008, and after the incidents and missing crafts seem to just come to an end. Priorto the final incident, multiple unexplained occurrences happened every year in the area. On December 15, 2008 a British-Norman Islander took off from Santiago for New York with 12 people on board. Only 35 minutes after takeoff the airplane ascended and went off the radar. A massive search operation was launched by the US Coast Guard but the airplane was never seen again. The plan went missing around the West Caicos island.

2. When the MH370 Malaysian Airlines Flight vanished(239 passengers), everybody had their own theory as to what happened to the flight. At first, we thought it was a terrorist attack, given the rise in the number of terrorist groups in the world today. When they couldn’t link any terrorist organizations to the disappearance of the plane, they began investigating the plane’s pilot just to make sure he didn’t do anything stupid like hijack the plane. When they couldn’t find anything that insinuated the pilot was a hijacker or a terrorist, rumors began flourishing that North Korea had taken the plane. South Korea claimed that North Korea attempted to take out a Chinese plane carrying 220 passengers on March 5, 2014, so there’s a high chance they were guilty of taking the MH370. There were also other rumors such as the U.S. military took out the plane, Vladimir Putin hijacked it, it was a life insurance scam, UFOs were involved and so many other theories. Even though they found some debris of a plane on the Southern Indian Ocean west of Perth, Australia, they haven’t yet concluded that it was from MH370.

It’s important to keep in mind that it originally had an outer casing of white limestone blocks that were perfectly polished and fitted. For thousands of years, it looked like a gleaming, white structure like no other. Keep in mind, we are talking about structures that were built sometime between 10,500BC and 3,500 BC. Over time, earthquakes and erosion were responsible for what we see today. Experts reckon it took 400,000 men some 20 years to complete. Engineering feats aside, I'd like to examine the unexplained mystery of Pyramid Power. In the 1940s, a French hardware dealer spotted some mummified animals exactly one-third up the height of the Pyramid of Cheops. The remarkable thing was they showed no signs of decomposition. He deduced that the pyramid shape was responsible for preserving them. Later, a Czech radio engineer claimed to conduct an experiment in which heplaced a brand new razor blade inside a 1:1,000 scale model of Cheops. He aligned his pyramid on a north-south axis exactly like the real thing. After getting 50 shaves from the razor, he was forced to conclude that it was only getting sharper from being inside the pyramid. It took him 10 years to obtain a patent for this device, which he claims still has no scientific explanation today.

What power could have moved these stones? Each stone has been estimated to weigh approximately between 2 and 20 tonnes each. Think about that, that’s 2.5 million blocks of stone that weight between 2 and 20 tonnes each. How did they cut the blocks with laser like precision and fit them perfectly in place? How did they lift and transport the rocks from their original position? How did they move across the terrain, dessert, water, and sand and then lift them on top of each other in order to build the pyramid? Even if the workers had achieved the impossible and unimaginable feat of ten blocks piled up on top of each other a day, they would have assembled the 2.5 million stone blocks into the stone pyramid in about 250,000 days, that’s 664 years, not even long enough for the one whom it was supposedly built for to see its completion. “It would be impossible to assemble enough men even around a 9,000pound stone that is perhaps only three and a half feet by three and half feet. To lift this stone onto and off of a barge, and then to maneuver it in place on the pyramid would take ten men, three on each side and two at each end. This placement means that each man, if all lifted equally, would be lifting 900-pounds. Obviously such a miraculous display of strength not only seems impracticable, but impossible. These pyramids built by the Egyptians 4,000 to 4,500 years ago are one of the seven wonders of the world. On a summer night in 1977, Jerry Ehman, a volunteer for SETI, the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, recorded the strongest hard evidence of extraterrestrial life in human history. He was originally in search of a hypothetical land mass called Terra Australis, thought to exist because at the time they thought that the northern and southern hemispheres should be balanced.Instead though, he discovered an island in the Southeastern Pacific Ocean, which he would later name Easter Island due to the date of its discovery. He was surprised to discover that the island was inhabited, and he reported seeing 2,000 to 3,000 people there. This was surprising, because the island is well really far from anything else at all. A staggering 1,900 kilometres away from the nearest inhabited land, and about 3,500 kilometres off the coast of Chile. And yet despite its incredible remoteness, The Rapa Nui people who called the island home managed to carve and transport a mind-blowing 887 statues, some measuring 33 feet tall and weighing up to 82 tonnes, an average of 17 kilometres each. And this all happened roughly 700 years ago. The biggest remaining question mark concerning the statues themselves is definitely their transportation.Theories have been proposed that involve ropes, sleds, rollers, levelled tracks, or even that the people slowly rocked the statues back and forth to their destination. Attempts have been made to recreate the methods that could have been used, but most resulted in damage to the statues, or would have required hundreds of people making just 0.08 kilometres of progress per day. The truth is, we don’t really know exactly how they did it. But however the Rapa Nui managed to move the Moai, they would have certainly needed to be incredibly patient, creative, and organised to make them a reality.

14. The Dancing Plague of 1518.

The story of the dancing plague sounds like something straight out of fiction.On a summer’s day in the town of Strasbourg during the year 1518, a woman began dancing wildly in the street. The day turned into night, the night turned into morning, and she was still dancing. Within a week, 34 others had joined her, dancing as though they were possessed, without stop, for no apparent reason. And within a month, the number of dancers had reached 400. Religious sermons were called to address the issue. Physicians were called in to document the event and try to find a solution. And all the while, the dancing worsened. Many became ill or died as a result of exhaustion, strokes, or heart attacks. The authorities eventually decided that the only way the dancers would recover is if they danced it out of their systems.Gild halls and a grain market were opened to the dancers, and a wooden stage was even constructed for them. Musicians were even brought in to keep those affected moving. Numerous theories have been proposed for the cause of the bizarre event, including poisoning, epilepsy, typhus, mass psychogenic illness, and even secretly coordinated religious rituals, but to this day we still have no answer for this truly unbelievable historical event.

The stones were then set up to form an incomplete double circle, aligned perfectly with the midsummer sunrise.

18. Chibok Girls.

Nearly 300 schoolgirls were kidnapped in April from the Government Secondary School in Chibok, Nigeria, by a radical Islamic group called Boko Haram. In early May, the hashtag #BringBackOurGirls began to spread on Twitter, raising the world's awareness of the mass abduction. In May, Nigeria's chief of defense staff, Air Marshal Alex Badeh, said the country's militaryhad located the schoolgirls, but using force to free them is currently out of the question. Badeh did not specify the girls' location, and a U.S. Defense Department spokesperson said it could not confirm Nigeria's report.
