cheddarking:

Just a bit curious,

How old are you?

If chachangi started flight operations in 1997, the oldest you can be is 15....

Shouldn't you be studying for Waec or something?

@Cheddar: Check your record straight. Chachangi has been in existence before 1997. I know what I'm talking about.
@ OP: my first experience was cool. It was so smooth.to be sincere, I never felt scared.

Heard so much about fright that comes with first time flight, so I expected so much. But no big deal at the end of the day. No highlight. Went normal.

Mine was aboard Aero Lagos to Accra. Smooth flight. No hassles. Left Lagos at 7.30am 9ja time, arrived Accra 50mins later. One lady (in para-military uniform, can't remember which one now) insisted I had to go check in my hand luggage when she sensed I wasn't going to give her money, had to give her d naira I had left on me to avoid delay. Aero crew sold coffee on board (I think a cup for 100#) to those interested. Enjoyed the trip sha!

ACM10: Mine was when I was in the womb. My mama was about to enter Chanchangi. I furiously resisted her decision by giving her some hard kicks on her womb. Mum was stubborn. She finally boarded the flight. The plane was galloping mid-air that I was terribly rocking inside the womb. It was a horrible experience. I thank God that I survived. cheesy

You got me laffing sha

@poseter
It was an interesting experience trust me you don't wanna hear it.

My scary moment was when the Plane did the missile-like manouvering in the air which involves ascending and descending, for the purpose of stabilizing, i lost instant consciousness, and immediately held my seat while closing my eyes. I was so scared that I temporary gave my life to Christ immediately, and instantly dropped my earlier plan to toast the pretty babe seated next to me, for fear of going to hell in the event of any plane crash!

Hehehehehe
I thought I had gone deaf mid-air with some ear-drum shattering pains!
Well, it was a local LOS-OWR on that faithful day.
Back in the days when Aero were still serving in-flight foc, so I was enjoying the ride/flight, nibbling away on some peanuts when all of a sudden, I felt my jaw muscles stiffen! I couldn't chew anymore as the pains just kept increasing as if my ear drums want to tear open. Immediately too my hearing began to fade and all I could hear was a steady whistling sound.
I was afraid and confused at the same time, I looked around to see if any other person was showing sign of pain, but people were just normal.
It was so terrible that I nearly wanted to shout that the 'driver' should stop and let me off!
Anyway, as a gentleman, I painfully endured the ordeal till we landed, I just sauntered out looking for the next available analgesic to clear the pain. It took another 2days for my hearing to return fully.
Then I began googling to discover its a rare occurrence that happens especially when your sinuses are narrowed due to cold and cattarh. Ever since, I use nasal spray to free up my sinuses before take-off.
Coincidentally today gain, I just got off the plane, and it was a terrible experience still as I didn't use the spray, but then I already knew what to expect, unlike that first experience.

I've been flying since I was a toddler, but I recall one experience when I two first time travellers sat next to me, I think it was abj- phc. First thing they asked me was how many hours before we land, unfortunately for them there was serious turbulence throughout the duration of the flight, so they kept on saying Jesus, Blood of Jesus.
The 3 grown-up jerks siTting infront of us kept on laughing at the poor girls.
The girls were embarrassed and I felt for them, at a point enuf was enuf, the next time the laughed at the girls, I pushed the guy sitting in front of me chair so very hard, he turned back and looked at me and I gave him a dirty look, luckily he got d message and whispered something to his friends and they stopped laughing.

It was in 2005 on a flight from PHC to Lagos. I was going on an official assignment and was booked to fly first class on Aero. As I boarded, there were about 5 pple already seated at the first class compartment -1 black and 4 whites, with others down the other compartments. So as not to show it was my first time, I simply showed my ticket to the air hostess by the entrance door who took me to seat 3A. I was carrying a travelling bag and having sat down and no knowing where to keep the bag, I simply pushed it under my seat as we used to do in molue buses wayback in Lagos those days. Thereafter, the air hostess who saw what happened came over and politely asked that I excuse her for a while. Of course, I obliged her with a smile , feeling cool with a neswpaper I had in my hand. Omon, na so she remove my travelling bag from under the seat come put am in the open compartment designated for that purpose above my seat. Chei! come see f.u.ck up! I no fit read newspaper again until we land for Lagos! grin

The first time I boarded; I was a kid and I thought I was gonna be zapped out the window if I had no sit belt on!!!
I've been flying for a while now but there r certain things I jus can't get usedt to;
- cabin presuure cos it blocks ma ears
- the landing part..... Jeeeez!! Still scares me!!! There was this time we hovered around the airport for like 30 mins before we landed!
- and then that feeling like the plane is changing gear in the sky!!!!! That g-force pull is crazy.... Like you're sinking in ya seat!!!! #screams#

Mine was when i was 19, flying alone to the UK. "You'll be fine dear, you'll be fine" is all my mum was saying to me before the flight. She could read me like a book and saw the fear all over my face. Taking off was hilarious seeing the tiny Lagos houses all under my feet! I didn't have any problem with the seat belt.
Couldn't sleep due to severe fear, but when the journey was smooth, I slept off and guess what? The plane crashed! i woke up from a terrible nightmare and screamed. The man beside me held my hand and smiled. I waited till the air hostess pass and asked her which compartment is the toilet located, I pooed for about 10 minutes. I was confessing my sins and praying to God in my little heart for safe landing. Soon I felt the plane landing, landed and passed through immigration checks. My cousin was outside waiting. As soon as he saw me, he hugged me and he immediately called my mum and said "He landed!!"
