cheddarking:

Just a bit curious,

How old are you?

If chachangi started flight operations in 1997, the oldest you can be is 15....

Shouldn't you be studying for Waec or something?
o boy ask am o. That's the reason why children of these days fail waec. Browsing instead of reading their books

The difference in atmospheric pressure when the plane took off and on landing almost made my ear drums burst.

early 2006, security was not an issue then, I bought a ticket and just sat down waiting for the plane grin grin grin. Boarding announced and I walk to the plane, but denied entry "cos I had no boarding pass, "boarding pass"? That was Greek to me then. I was eventually boarded with just the ticket to Abuja. Nothing strange and funny on board, lol.

kpokute: My scary moment was when the Plane did the missile-like manouvering in the air which involves ascending and descending, for the purpose of stabilizing, i lost instant consciousness, and immediately held my seat while closing my eyes. I was so scared that I temporary gave my life to Christ immediately, and instantly dropped my earlier plan to toast the pretty babe seated next to me, for fear of going to hell in the event of any plane crash!

so you let the fine babe go like that, men guy u Bleep up

Yes, it does. Well at least it happened to me. I also felt an itching and burning sensation in my nose.

kokomuolo: This is one of the most interesting thread i have read in recent times. My ribs are cracking especially my bros wey put bag for "boot' of plane.
Sha mine was in 2006 on official flight from Lag to Abj. I traveled with my senior colleagues on Virgin Nig. I was excited as a first timer feeling like Obama. My first shocker was the take off; i couldn't get a grip of myself i held my colleague's hand with my eyes tightly closed and asking myself 'who send me message?' As if that was not bad enough there was turbulence as a result of bad weather. O boy u need to see me moving my body in rhythm with movement of the plane and guess what? I fell off my seat. Come see laf for plane. i turn comic relief. For 1 month i no talk for office.

Then in last Dec i traveled with my 3 yrs daughter who had been singing with 'mummy i want to enter aroplane' She couldn't wait to be searched at the boarding terminal as she quickly ran up the stairs. As she got in she started complaining ' mummy mummy the plan is not moving! mummy tell the driver to start it. Then came the take off. the song changed, mummy the plan is singing, mummy hold me i am scared. mummy should i pray? i want to wee wee. make una come see another round of laf for plane
so funny! I can imagine.

First time. I was travelling for a course, I was scared I was gonna throw up during take off (I had to relax my breath and close my eyes), cos during my younger years, I had travelling sickness.
Though whenever the plane broke thru a pocket of cloud, it was as if it was falling down - men! This unsettled my stomach.
I enjoyed the flight, I had run using the seat in my mind severally, & observed others too. I sat close to the window, to & fro to get a view of nature's beauty from above.

;DMine was around march 2011, I was coming to lag from abj to collect my call-up letter from my school. The flight was for 10am, aero. I cud remember my husband was making jest of me as a first timer, my seat was by the window and I cud remember talking to myself and address myself as ara oko(local girl)but I encouraged myself by saying"hey girl, there is always a first time to everything". When the flight was announced I surmoned courage and I was like y shud I be scared when am nt the only one. Taking off was the sweetest feeling I always look forward to after then. Immediately the plane got into the air, I had a feeling as if I was falling down from the sky, I can't really xplain the feeling, I quickly closed my eyes and took a deep breath, I read my bible through out the journey Ε̲̣̣̣̥vε̲̣̣̣̥n though I took time to look through the window to behold the wonders of God. It was a lovely xperience..... When the seat belt sign went off I was soo happy knwing that @least we are save. Seeing the clouds closely was beautiful, clouds forming different shapes, @times it looked like water from afar, God is wonderful was wat I murmured, I love the sight.... I enjoyed it cos it was smooth, no turbulence but my ear ached me seriously when we landed.I enjoyed every bit of it..

Hmmmmn chachangi airline lagos-Abuja,I had some tips already from my hubby and so didn't find it difficult to settle down while on board and everything was smooth until when the pilot announced that he was having problems with the landing, we had to go back to Lagos but couldn't land as well, we were hovering in the air for more than 3 hrs, we were able to finally land in kaduna and refuel before taking off again to Abuja. It was really a day I will never forget, infact I remember a lady saying she was going to enter a bus from kaduna to Abuja refusing to come on board again.looking back today it sounds funny but then my people it was not funny at all.

My first time of getting on the airplane was when i was traveling to the U.S.I was a little bit nervous.I thought the plane was like the local flight when you gotta climb the stair to get on the plane, but as we were walking after the last checking/screening,i just found myself in the plane. It was a nice flight to Madrid(Spain) and also connecting flight to Dallas Forth Worth(Texas)

My first time of taking flight was in 2006, while heading out of naija from ph enroute lagos for a course. I had an agent at the airport so getting a baording pass wasn't much of a stress. When I got into the flight "I think Virgin Nigeria", I had to pose cos I had already put the seat belt on without any help. Omo! when it was time for refreshment I fumbled, cos I could not get the tray down!A guy whom I later got to know was a senior colleague in the company where I worked then helped out with a smile, saying your first time? I just nodded with all the initial posing gone...lol

I was 14, Lagos to Johannesburg. I was really excited though, esp during take off. That's still my favorite part of flying, the speed of the plane leaving the ground.

Mine was around 2005...coming to Abuja.
Boarding of lifts over the yrs didnt make my taking off and landing scary!
The journey was smooth....it was like I have been boarding over the yrs!

Mine was in may, 2012.
Was on annual leave and i thought i should go on a flight from los to abv by aero, i did my burden pass online and chose a seat beside d window. As i walked into d plane, a female cabin crew member looked at me closely wit a smile saying 'u r welcome' dissolving my frown immediately. I had two elderly men beside me and 1 close to me dozed off barely before the plane took off.
I felt normal and just having fun and i didn't want the journey to end.
I also felt like a v.i.p as i left d arrival to see my bro waiting wit his friend to pick me up to his house.

Hmmmm its better have a first time experience with bigger planes than smaller ones. I had my first experience with a forker 50 and my heart almost dropped when it was taking off. Try and observe the difference between small and big flights and U̶̲̥̅̊'ll knw what am talking about.

Temporary indeed. Technically after the flight, you went back to your former conduct and ways of life including toasting.

How do I explain it sef? It was an experience I don't plan to remember, but I gotta tell una...
Little did I know my seat number has been attached to the ticket given to me. I just entered looked
for a convenient seat like that of Molue or Danfo. And started looking everywhere.

All of a sudden a young lady came and told me I sat at her space. I told her I came in before you
and what moral justification do you have to claim I am sitting on your seat! Lo and behold, the
lady was just smiling and that annoyed me the money... A guy later asked me to check my seat number angry

My two legs were shaking as if I was caught stealing! To de-board became problem. Though out that
day I no fit recover...

At my first experience, when checking in, I discovered that Arik line practice price discrimination. I had excess luggage. When we were on board, I only discovered there is no peace anywhere, as turbulent was too much throughout the journey. I would not take my eyes off the window, seeing different things in the firmament.

Mine was a sweet experience, it was a trip from Kaduna to Lagos in a then Nigerian Airways during the Babangida (Maradona) regime with military plane crashes then, my only prayer then was for God to grant myself and my mum a safe trip to and fro. The taking off speed and the landing shaky shaky is wonderful, watching the clouds underneath the plane, and the feel of been at the same height with the sun was something amazing.
