floridam: Mine was in may, 2012.
Was on annual leave and i thought i should go on a flight from los to abv by aero, i did my burden pass online and chose a seat beside d window. As i walked into d plane, a female cabin crew member looked at me closely wit a smile saying 'u r welcome' dissolving my frown immediately. I had two elderly men beside me and 1 close to me dozed off barely before the plane took off.
I felt normal and just having fun and i didn't want the journey to end.
I also felt like a v.i.p as i left d arrival to see my bro waiting wit his friend to pick me up to his house.

BOARDING PASS grin

Mine was aboard aero, frm Ph to lagos. Was sitting besides a guy nd his girlfriend(it was her 1st tym too ) i observed to see ow others fastened der seat belt, den i did mine too. During take off, i had dis sinking feeling nd my palms were sweaty, i closed my eye, held my seat and prayed i wont fall my hand. I saw a girl walk pass wit a big trolley nd i was wondering were she would kip it(i checked in my small bag to avoid embarrassment) til d guy sitting next to me opened d compartment above our heads to drop his briefcase nd i did same. I followed d whole instructions, i even switched off my phone. D flight was smooth. My embarrassment came wen we arrive MMA nd entered a shuttle, i saw ple holding on to rails etc but i was formin nd didnt hold anytin until d tin started moving nd i fell down hard. No be person tell me to hold d rail? Wit both hands... It wasnt so bad sha

Ok,nice topic, heres mine, it was my first time and i was travelling to the middle EAST...somehow, i got to the airport late, and sincemy passport was empty...the air officials started to harrass ...to add to the injury, my plane was closing its doors when i was knocking...cut the long story short, my hart racing, as i sat in my chair, the plane so large, i didnt know what to think...just as the pilot put the engine on full throttle on the run way, i wanted to scream at that point....just as it took off...tommy started rolling, i never in my life liked the idea of vomiting, i always knew i could control it..but it almost came out...glad it didnt...i have adapted to it now...im fine at every take off and landing situations...

It was my first annual leave so I wanted to give myself a treat. The flight was from calabar to lagos. Got to calabar late, missed the flight and so had to re-schedule for the next day. Was sooo looking forward to it. The journey was smooth generally. When I boarded, did not know how to locate my seat so sat on someone else's but was forced to ask the hostess when the person showed up. Plus, I also fumbled with my seat belt. The nice man that sat next to me then showed me how to buckle it. Once we were on air, I discreetly practiced buckling and unbuckling it so I will not need such helps again. I was not afraid at all though there was a little turbulance. Hoped I would get the window seat that first time but did not have the opportunity. All in all, it was not too obvious it was my first time. Subsequent ones have even been better.

my first experience was from ph to lagos. the loud noise from the engine on full trottle durring take off scared me. i was 16 going to lagos on first semester break. but there is a flight i wont forget. many pasengers were stranded at the abuja airport and as i nosed around i noticed the then okada air kiosk was having some activity. i joined in as they sold only 6 tickets. the flight was anounced and i ended up on a special plane which i believe the igbinedion clan use exclusively.....only about 10 pacs with giant seats arranged like a mini living room. one of them came in as the last persenger. it must have been the first time for a lady sitting by me cos when the plane was having some turbulence mid air she reached accross her hand rest to mine and squeezed the daylights out of my hands....not wanting to embarass her i allowed her but had the pain in my hand running for 2 days afterwards.

My first experience was March 2012. My company sent us from Ph to Lagos for a Conference. I tot i was the only first timer, I didnt know that most of my collegues there were first timers.
Firstly, out of fear, I started having serious runny stomach, I was sweating all over. when we boarded, I went to sit on any available sit, when the owner of the seat came nd asked me 2 stand up, i quickly pretended and got up. The air hostess later showed me my sit. Ie Number one Bleep up. My collegue, Omoladun, seated beside me was also a first timer. but we both lied 2 each oda that we have been doing this fo long.

Taking off was sometin else for me, but wen i saw my collegues behaviour, i opened up and told her that it was my first time and she also opened up, so we ended up being for each oda.

Also, I cald most of my friends and family members on the fone to tell them that I was boarding, flying, etc. lol

fxtopedia: How do I explain it sef? It was an experience I don't plan to remember, but I gotta tell una...
Little did I know my seat number has been attached to the ticket given to me. I just entered looked
for a convenient seat like that of Molue or Danfo. And started looking everywhere.

All of a sudden a young lady came and told me I sat at her space. I told her I came in before you
and what moral justification do you have to claim I am sitting on your seat! Lo and behold, the
lady was just smiling and that annoyed me the money... A guy later asked me to check my seat number angry

My two legs were shaking as if I was caught stealing! To de-board became problem. Though out that
day I no fit recover...

Just a bit curious,

How old are you?

If chachangi started flight operations in 1997, the oldest you can be is 15....

Shouldn't you be studying for Waec or something?
Iwonder ooo!

All i could remember on my first flight, an international one on board BA to Heathrow Airport, was a blocked (L) eardrum. It took about 3 days to shake it off. Some years ago, I was to fly with a team of Network engineers from Lagos to Enugu to work on a mobile communication installation owned by Ken Namani. On getting to the local airport for booking we were told the only flight available was SOSOLISO!! I shouted SOSO what? Time was around 6.30pm and we were to start configuration all night. God! I just gba kamu jeje and prayed for safe flight. During take off my heart was in my mouth. Make una come see as i praised my God like never before when we landed safely in Enugu.

Gospelgirl: Hmmmmn chachangi airline lagos-Abuja,I had some tips already from my hubby and so didn't find it difficult to settle down while on board and everything was smooth until when the pilot announced that he was having problems with the landing, we had to go back to Lagos but couldn't land as well, we were hovering in the air for more than 3 hrs, we were able to finally land in kaduna and refuel before taking off again to Abuja. It was really a day I will never forget, infact I remember a lady saying she was going to enter a bus from kaduna to Abuja refusing to come on board again.looking back today it sounds funny but then my people it was not funny at all.
Honestly speaking, if i were to be on that plane i would just get off in Kaduna and board Cross Country to my destination. PERIOD.

This is a really nice thread, brings back memories.
Mine was in my childhood, was on Aero flight, boarding the plane and fixing the seat belt wasn't strange cos I was excited and I had my mum sitted beside me. The Hostess was nice and asked us to make our choice on their available menu(snacks though). The memorable part about the flight(and I really enjoyed this part) was when the plane moved to the runway and was charging up with a loud roar(I wish someone took a picture of the grin on my face). Shortly after, I felt the adrenaline rush as it dashed at top speed across the runway at possibly 100m/s before tearing through the atmosphere in a mid-projectile fashion. I remember looking at the clouds and when the pilot mentioned we were a few minutes from landing, I looked down below seeing the beautiful landscape and the cars that appeared very little. Landing wasn't much fun though, can remember the tires bouncing momentarily on the runway before it finally reduced momentum.
My 2nd flight wasn't too pleasant with Dana, they served us apples and some other snack I can't remember while we were entering the plane. Then we all had sharp pains in our ears throughout the flight. Thank God it was a short local flight, dunno wat would have happened if the sharp pain came on an international flight.
