r231: Nollywood actor, Emeka Ike, has said he’s leaving Nollywood temporarily to strategies. Speaking to an Encomium reporter exclusively on Sunday July 22nd, the actor said:

“I have not quit Nollywood in the real sense of the word. What I did was to withdraw all my movies from the market, and I mean all the movies that are related with Emeka Ike…and the reason is not far fetched. I am angry with what is going on in the industry. My conscience would not allow me to go on with the decay in the industry. So, I feel that was the best thing to do, to dissociate myself from the problem and stand out! So, henceforth, any Nollywood movie would not involve Emeka Ike. Rather, I want to market all my movies on the label of Emeka Ike Production. If you want to deal with me as an actor, you have to work with me under the label. That clearly separates me from Nollywood

In nigeria, acting is a lucrative business. Not because of the rich content of their movies but because there are no rules guiding the movie industry.

Emeka Ike is rich today courtesy of nollywood and don't forget that their film will run for about 30 minutes (or there about) and they will ask you to watch out for part 2, 3 and 4. Then they will now change the title of the same predictable film and as if you don't have any choice, they will ask you to watch out again for part 5, 6, 7 and if you are lucky, it will stop at part 8.

Emeka knows all this and he remained there all this while. The question is, why quit now mr. Lover boy?

Emeka's people use to say that 'ijiji na enweghi onye ndumodu, na- eso ozu aba n'ili'. He should have quit nollywood since.

My candid advice to emeka is for him to quit acting permanently and use the money he must have saved (if he's saving at all) to start other business.

I only watch Nigrian Comedy and few guys. I know Mr Ibu, Nkem Owo, Victor Osuagwu,Charles Inojie, Aki and Pawpaw, then Olu Jacobs and Joke S, Omotola,Genny,Pet Edochie and MJ and Emeka Ike. I stopped watching Nollywood when less average people starting acting, directing and producing films less quality and 10 minutes films with no direction and storey line. I pray the same thin will not happen to the Music industry as I see that i the next 5 years. NOLLYWOOD WAKE UP WITH CREATIVITYAND PASSION
