The Blantyre first grade magistrate court has ordered a man identified as Denmark Phiri to pay a sum of K350,000 or in default serve a three year jail term after the court convicted him of embezzling funds for learners at Nasiyaya Primary school.

Phiri who was at the said time a school committee member solicited funds from the students to support a series of projects within the school.

But in court, he was found guilty before he was ordered to refund the money or in default serve a three year jail term.

A nambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo has dismissed allegations of budget padding for some projects by margins as wide as 300 percent in some ministries

This is contained in a statement by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, on Thursday.

Reacting to an article titled, ” Budget padding scandal hits Anambra State Government”, Soludo said ”criminals” of different types displaced by his government were fighting back with propaganda.

‘For clarity, it is important we state that we are not oblivious of the diversionary antics of those whose lucrative criminal enterprise is being smoked out by the renewed fight against all forms criminality in the State, housed in various camps and bushes perpetrating heinous crimes.

”Anambra no longer has free money to feed the greed of those whose source of livelihood is government money and patronage as a result of free oil money which sadly stopped while assuring that there will be value for every penny spent.

”The claims that the commissioner for works refused to appear before the House of Assembly to defend his ministry’s budget on June 29 is false.

”We owe it as a duty to Anambra to ensure that every penny of our borrowed funds is accounted for, and deployed to building quality infrastructure, and not for consumption.

”On the cost of the road per kilometer, it is funny that the unknown writer is using propaganda and deceit to hoodwink the unsuspecting public.

“How do you start talking about the cost of contracts for roads currently being designed and contracts not awarded, of course people always judge others by their own standards,” he stated.

Soludo went further to provide cost trend of road projects executed in the state which he said ranged from above N200 million to as much as N1 billion per kilometer in 2018 when diesel was N120 per litre and a tonne of asphalt, N18,000

He said though the cost of diesel and asphalt had risen to N850 per litre and N65,000 per tonne in 2022, his administration would deliver quality and durable roads at the cheapest possible price.

The governor said the roads under design were planned to last for at least 15 years under heavy axial loads.

“It is important that we place it on record for the purposes of our employers and to whom we are accountable, that the previous administrations awarded roads with the cost per kilometer varying from above N1 billion to a little over N200 million.

“It is also on record that none of our predecessors awarded any road for less than N200 million per km.

“Of course, one can even get a road for less than N1 million by spreading sand and lean asphalt on it to be washed away within one rainy season.

“The losers of the new order will continue to try desperate acts to fight back but we remain focused, during the dry season, Anambra will see the mass action on their roads and Anambra will continue to win,” he stated.

Activist, Yinka Odumakin, says All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Bola Tinubu, should have stood up to greet the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, at the coronation of the Oniru of Iruland, Oba Omogbolahan Lawal.

Odumakin, who is also the spokesman for the pan-Yoruba group, Afenifere, said this in an interview with The PUNCH on Wednesday while reacting to a viral picture showing Tinubu sitting down while the Ooni stands to greet him.

He said although monarchs no longer hold political power, it was important for traditional institutions to be respected especially by the Yoruba people.

As gathered by , the activist recalled that in 2016, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who is many years older than the monarch, bowed down to greet him.

The police Wednesday evening paraded six persons believed to have been involved in the killing of 100 level University of Benin Student, Vera Uwaila Omozuwa.

She was attacked in a church in May where she had gone to read. She later died in the hospital.

Commissioner of Police, Johnson Kokumo Identified the suspects as Nelson Ogbebor, Akato Valentine, Mrs. Tina Samuel, Mrs. Mary Ade, Nosa Osabohien and Collins Ulegbe.

He said “The matter was a great concern to the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Muhammed Adamu who sent to us here in Benin, Homicide experts to work with our policemen at the state criminal investigation department.

“What we are seeing today, is a result of the uniting efforts of the police to get at the root of the crime and today, I announce to you and making public through this medium that the perpetrators have been arrested.

“The postmortem results had actually confirmed that she was raped”, he said.

The Police Commissioner, Mr Johnson Kokumo said the police had been able to recover sizeable number of arms that would have been used to disrupt the Edo 2020 gubernatorial election.

According to him, “we have been able to recover a sizeable number of arms and ammunition that would have been used to disrupt the Edo 2020 gubernatorial election, on, before or after the election. The Edo State Police Command will continue to ensure that we recover all arms and ammunition that are in private hands so that the Edo 2020 will be held in an atmosphere of peace.”

A suspected kidnapper was shot dead by police officers attached to the Ogun State Police Command along Shagamu–Ijebu Ode road on Wednesday July 15.

The incident occurred while the DPO of Shagamu police division, SP Okiki Agunbiade was on a routine patrol with his men. They reportedly sighted a Sienna bus with registration number MUS 86 FN with occupants who had suspicious looks but rather than stop for a search, the driver sped off.

A gun battle ensued shortly after, leading to the death of one of the kidnappers. Two victims identified as Okoroji Agnes, a youth corper attached to Federal Girls College Sagamu and one Tawa Sosanwo who were kidnapped at various locations, were rescued by the police.

One black toy gun, one gold wrist watch, One Samsung galaxy S7 phone, one cutlass, and one black wrist watch were recovered from the scene.

A statement released by the state police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi read;

Operatives of Ogun State Police Command on Wednesday 15th of July 2020 shot dead a suspected kidnapper along Shagamu –Ijebu Ode road and rescued two of their victims.

The incident happened when the DPO Shagamu SP Okiki Agunbiade was on routine patrol with his men and sighted a Sienna bus with registration number MUS 86 FN with some occupants whose suspicious look attracted the attention of the policemen which prompted them to stop the said car.

But instead of the driver to stop, he speed off towards Ijebu-Ode road consequent upon which the DPO ordered his men to chase them. Having realized that they are being pursued, the men in the car started firing at the policemen while on the move and the policemen fired back. They later jumped down, abandoned the car and ran into the bush while the policemen chased them into the bush and shot one of them dead while others escaped with gunshot injuries.

Rescued from the abandoned car are: a youth corp member identified as Okoroji Agnes attached to Federal Girls College Sagamu and one Tawa Sosanwo. The two victims narrated how they were kidnapped at various locations by the hoodlums who were taken to unknown destinations before police intercepted them on the road.

Their operational car was recovered with the following items: One black toy gun, one gold wrist watch, One Samsung galaxy S7 phone, one cutlass, and one black wrist watch.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Kenneth Ebrimson who was full of praise for the gallantry display of his men has appealed to members of the public especially hospitals to inform the police if anybody with gunshots injury is seen in their area. He also assured the members of the public that the fleeing members of the gang will be hunted for and arrested within the shortest possible time

Liverpool coach, Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he’ll leave the club when his current contract expires in 2024 and then take a significant break from football.

Klopp, a success at German clubs Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund, guided the Reds to their Premier League title this season, five years after he replaced Brendan Rodgers at Anfield.

He signed a new contract with Liverpool in December 2019, which keeps him at the club until 2024. He has now revealed he has every intention of seeing out his full contract at Liverpool, but doesn’t plan on signing a new one and sees 2024 as the perfect time for him to walk away from Anfield.

At first look , people might think that it is a giant snake that turned to stone in a scene from a movie, but actually, to me, it’s just a part of newly discovered cave in Bueng Khong Long, Thailand. The locals named it “naga cave”. Are you wondering how the name naga came into this ?, don’t stress your brain, that’s why I’m here . The word Naga in Sanskirt language means snake or serpent.

In Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism, the Naga or Nagi are divine, semi-divine deities, or a semi-divine race of half-human half-serpent beings which can occasionally take human form. They are principally depicted in three forms: wholly human with snakes on the heads and necks, common serpents, or as half-human half-snake beings.They are common and hold cultural significance in the mythological traditions of many South Asian and South-east Asian cultures.

Most Naga creatures are depicted with giant serpent bodies and upper torsos of human . There are also versions which have no arms , just a human head in place of the snakes head. The best example of Naga is Medusa, Greek mythology gorgon. Another example , do you remember that old Indian movie titled Nagina ; about a girl that usually turns to snake when the master plays the flute. That name Nagina still means Naga in India.

Going back to the this mystery, could it really be a cursed giant snake that turned to stone? Some Bueng Kan locals think that it might be the giant snake from their folklore. According to them , millions of years ago, there was a king named Yoo Lue King who was cursed to be the Naga for causing a city to fall into a lake, so the king turned into a giant snake. It was said that he can only escape the curse if the city would be reborn. When this giant snake died. It was discovered that it’s body was not perishable, for millions of years , it’s body was deposited with soils and rocks, how it surfaced and became a part of the cave.. nobody knows. Could it be that the lost city resurfaced on earth in form of a cave formed from the giant snake that turned into rock?, are you looking at me to answer that too? I don’t know either.

One Taiwo Akinlusi, popularly known as Sir Tee among his football fans meet his untimely death on Saturday, when his head mistakenly touched a naked wire when he was coming down from the staircase of a plaza where he went to play football betting at Ile-Epo bus stop, Ejigbo.

An eyewitness, Mr. Abiodun Adaranijo, who spoke to DAILY POST, explained that while coming down the stairs after betting at the plaza, the unsuspecting deceased had touched a naked wire dangling with his head.

Adaranijo said he (the deceased) would have bent his head to avoid the wire but he did not take note of the clumsy dangling wires.

According to Adaranijo, it was not the first time Akinlusi would pass through the staircase and bypass the wire even on that fateful, due to his hurriedness to go back home after placing stakes, he forgot to bend his head to avoid the wire at the spot and mistakenly touched the wire with his head.

The deceased was said to be a footballer playing for Ejigbo All Stars FC.

His corpse was said to have been deposited in the mortuary at Isolo General Hospital.

The chairman of Ailegun Community Development Association ( CDA), Barr. Bimbo Olawale, who confirmed the incident, said it was unfortunate, saying the residents have been always warned to be cautious of their electrical wiring to avoid such incidents.

“We always warn people to be security conscious. We tell them that security include anything that can affect human life such as electricity in terms of wiring.

“The incident was an unfortunate one and we pray not to experience such again but we must always be conscious. The incident has affected the power supply in the community, the supply to the area has to be switched off but we have contacted Ikeja Electric to come and fix it.”

Big One Dating, who carried out the research, then compared the orgasm success rate with penis size to find out what women preferred on average.

Their findings suggest that the best penis size for women to climax is eight inches - but any bigger and the orgasm rates drop.

In fact, men with a whopping 11-inch member got 30 per cent of women to reach climax, which is the same proportion for men with a four inch penis.

While a three inch penis is considered a "micro penis", a quarter of women said they had been satisfied during their last sexual encounter.

And 1 in 10 men with a one inch penis still hit the spot - proving it's not about size but what you do with that counts.

The survey also found that a large proportion of women said girth was important to them in reaching climax.

In general, as penis length increases so does width, so the average girth of the 8in penis is likely to be a contributing factor.


The average penis size in the UK is between 3.5-5.8 inches.

He added: "Using a lotion may help a man become more familiar with his penis, which some men shy away from.

"So lotions can help a man become more comfortable with his penis but they certainly won't make it any bigger."

5. Penis pumps

Penis pumps involve placing a tube over the penis and then pumping out the air to create a vacuum.

This draws blood into the penis and makes it swell.

Penis pumps are sometimes used as a short term fix for erectile dysfunction, because they make the penis hard.

But prolonged use can damage the tissues in the penis, making your erections weaker, so it's not hugely recommended.

Prof Wylie said there is very little evidence to suggest pumps give you extra length in the long run.

6. Extenders

Penile extenders involve placing a weight or small extending frame on the flaccid penis to stretch it.

Yes, you are essentially stretching the flesh of your manhood.

"There's some evidence that traction devices can have some impact, particularly with men who are smaller in size," Prof Wylie said.

"Some patients using traction devices for six months have noticed a gain in size of 1-2cm.

"However, such treatments shouldn't be started without the supervision of a doctor."


If you use extenders the wrong way you could damage the flesh of your penis, which can be disastrous for your sex life.

7. Jelqing

Somewhat similar to extenders, jelqing is when you repeatedly pull a flaccid penis using your thumb and index finger to increase length.
