PoliticsFani-kayode Reacts To Oba Of Lagos Alleged Threat To Igbos, Says Its Ominious An by 9jaroof(op): 5:23pm On Apr 06, 2015
He shared his thought on the alleged threat on his Facebook wall

The Oba of Lagos' threat against the Igbos in Lagos that if they do not vote for the APC in the governorship elections on Saturday they should be ready for the consequences and that if they don't vote for Ambode they should be ready to perish in the lagoon is ominous and unacceptable.

The truth is that we were threatened with ethnic cleansing and religious carnage in the north had Buhari not won the election on march 28th and had Jonathan not quickly conceded defeat and now our traditional supporters are being threatened in Lagos and in many other states.

Let two things be clearly understood. In as much as we all want peace in this country and in as much as Jonathan has graciously and quickly conceded defeat in the Presidential election, this does not mean that we are weak or powerless.

Let it be clearly understood by all and sundry that any attempt to kill or molest our supporters in the north, in the west or indeed in any other part of the country either before, during or after saturday's governorship elections or any attempt at ethnic or religious cleansing by the APC, their supporters or their friends and agents will be deemed unacceptable and will be met with defiance, contempt and resistance.

Enough of all these APC threats and all this rubbish. No-one is intimidated on our side and neither do we fear for the future because God is with us, He is faithful and He is in control. We want peace and we want harmony in this country but no-one or no group of people will be allowed to turn us or our supporters into slaves or give us sleepless nights.

The APC would do well to remember that they only won the presidential election by 2 million votes. The PDP got 12 million votes in that election which means that we have 12 million loyal foot soldiers and supporters in this country and that is no mean feat.

We are a strong party, we are confident for the future, we are ready for anything and most important of all we are ready for the polls on saturday. We take this opportunity to urge the PDP faithful in Lagos to go out and vote en masse for the PDP.

We urge them to vote for Jimi Agbaje and to free Lagos state from the shackles of darkness and oppression. We urge them to stand firm, to hold their heads up high and to do their very best. We urge our supporters in Rivers state, Oyo state, Imo state, Plateau state, Kaduna state and indeed in all the states where elections will take place on saturday to do the same, to take the destiny of their respective states into their hands and to vote for the PDP candidates in the various elections.

What happened during the presidential election on March 28th was sad and unfortunate but we have accepted defeat and we wholeheartedly accept the will of the people of Nigeria. That does not however mean that we should close shop and not put up a good fight for Saturdays governorship elections.

This is the time to call on the party faithful to rise up. This is the time to rally our troops and to call on our footsoldiers and loyalists to come out in their millions and wipe away the sadness of march 28th by winning massively in saturdays governorship elections.

This is the time to prove to our detractors that despite their provocative utterances, their empty and boastful threats, their mocking words and their gratutious insults that the PDP is far from dead and is still very much alive.

Our party shall go from strength to strength despite the monumental challenges that lie ahead. Whether we win or lose on saturday is not the issue. The issue is that whatever anyone may say and whatever they may feel, the PDP is not going anywhere and neither shall we crumble and fade away. We are here for the long haul: we are here to stay.

PoliticsI Am Not A Miracle Worker, Do Not Expect Miracles - Buhari by 9jaroof(op): 8:36am On Apr 06, 2015
President elect, Muhmmadu Buhari, has asked Nigerians not to expect him to perform miracles once he assumes power come May 29th. Gen Buhari said this while speaking on the war against Boko Haram in an interview with BBC. According to Buhari, the triumph against the sect members would not be immediately achieved once he gets into power but said with cooperation from Neighboring countries and the commitment of the military, the war would be won in a short time

"For five, six years, the Nigerian enforcement law agencies, including the military, couldn’t secure 14 Local Governments. How can I promise miracles when I come? But with the cooperation of our neighbours Cameroon, Chad, Niger and the international community, and the commitment we are going to get from the military, I think it will take us a much shorter time to deal with it”, he said.

PoliticsIntegrity Not Enough To Fight Corruption, Bakare Tells Buhari by 9jaroof(op): 12:29am On Apr 06, 2015
The General Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, on Sunday in Lagos cautioned the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, against appointing persons with questionable character into his government.

Some of these people, the cleric said, were among those who facilitated Buhari’s success on March 28.

Bakare, who was the running mate to Buhari in the 2011 Presidential election on the platform of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change, said this at the 26th anniversary of his church. He delivered a message titled, ‘Democracy audit: chances, choices and consequences.’

The 60 year-old pastor urged Buhari to start the fight against corruption from his circle and lay a good example, saying change cannot be achieved if these were not done.

He said, “I congratulate Nigerians; we have chosen a man of integrity as our President. But integrity is not enough to run a government.

“May the good Lord surround the President-elect with men and women of goodwill, great intellectual capacity, competence and character to help restore our wasted years.

“I pray sincerely that not all those who facilitated his winning the election will be among those who run the government. I did say before the election that I trust the person of General Buhari but not all those around him.

“I mean every word of it because many of them are nothing but Ali Baba and 40 thieves. And if these are the same who would go into government, you can’t fight evil with evil. You can as well kiss the anti-corruption stance of Mr. President-elect goodbye.”

Bakare prayed for Buhari to have the needed wisdom and strength, noting that people were already submitting applications to him to serve in the incoming administration.

“You don’t know how many applications are in my phone. I am not the Vice-President; I am not looking for a job. They said ‘we know General Buhari listens to you; if I cannot get Minister of Works, maybe I will get Minister of Aviation’.

“The vultures are now going round and round. If he does not have quality people around him, then they will put round pegs in square holes and within two years, we are back to square one.”

The cleric saluted INEC chairman, Attahiru Jega for his leadership and “comportment in the face of grave accusation and provocation.”

He also commended President Goodluck Jonathan for conceding defeat, noting that he had written his name in gold.

Meanwhile, a former Chaplain of Aso Villa during the administration of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, Reverend William Okoye, has called on Buhari to reduce the cost of governance by reducing the number of political offices in the country.

Politics‘buhari Didn’t Give A Timeline To Ending B’haram’ by 9jaroof(op): 2:33am On Apr 03, 2015
The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Organisation has described as misleading and unfounded, media reports that the President-in-waiting, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has pledged to end the scourge of Boko Haram insurgency in the country within two months.

The Director of Media and Publicity of the APC Presidential Campaign Organisation, Garba Shehu, made the clarification in Abuja, on Thursday.

In a statement he signed, Shehu said Buhari never made such a promise, adding that he would require time to study the situation as soon as he assumed office to put in place an effective strategy of dealing with the situation.

Shehu said, “His Excellency, the President-elect is still waiting to be sworn in on May 29. After the ceremony, he would need time to study the security situation and plan strategically with the security chiefs as to the way forward. Time is of essence here.

“Therefore, President Buhari didn’t and wouldn’t peg the decimation of terrorism from the country’s territories to just two months.

“The General was unequivocal about cleansing Boko Haram from our land; he would do a good job of it by giving a final, permanent push to rid Nigeria of unscrupulous elements.”

He added, “The President-elect said that much to the world media including the British Broadcasting Corporation and Cable News Network.

“He never put a time-frame to when he would eliminate terrorists. PoliticsNational Assembly Hails Jega On Election by 9jaroof(op): 9:05pm On Apr 02, 2015
The National Assembly on Thursday lauded the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, on the successful conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections, which took place last Saturday.

It said this had shown the entire world that “democracy has come to stay in Nigeria.”

It however advised the commission to urgently address all the challenges identified during the polls ahead of the second phase involving the governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections, slated for April 11 to ensure a hitch free exercise.

Chairman of the Senate Committee on INEC, Senator Andy Uba, and his House of Representatives counterpart, Jerry Manwe, conveyed the position of the lawmakers to the commission during a courtesy call to INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega in Abuja on Thursday.

They declared that they were in the commission to express their happiness and commendation about the success recorded by INEC in the conduct of the polls.

They urged the commission to address the challenges witnessed in some parts of the country during the last Saturday polls, saying such challenges should be considered in preparation for the upcoming governorship poll in order to make it a huge success.

Uba and Manwe commended the spirit of sportsmanship displayed by President Goodluck Jonathan by calling the President-elect, Maj. Gen. Muhamadu Buhari(retd.), to congratulate him ahead of the announcement of the results of the election by INEC.

The federal lawmakers said such action would further deepen the growing democracy in the country in particular and Africa in general.

In his remark, Jega said elections in Nigeria would continue to be better as improvement was being recorded with each conduct of the election.

He added that as the governorship election comes up on April 11, all the identified challenges in the last week’s poll would be factored in and addressed appropriately.

PoliticsMy Victory, Not A Surprise – Buhari by 9jaroof(op): 9:25pm On Apr 01, 2015
The President-elect Muhammadu Buhari, says he is not surprised that he defeated President Goodluck Jonathan at the polls in the March 28 presidential election.

Buhari, who defeated Jonathan by over two million votes, said this during an interview with CNN anchor, Christiane Amanpour, on Wednesday.

He said the successful merger of the All Progressives Congress in 2013 signalled the beginning of the end of Jonathan’s administration.

He said, “I am not surprised because of how we came into the merger. The main opposition parties in Nigeria decided to come together to face the ruling party. That means we had an additional spread and politicians across the length and breadth of the country; so, I was not surprised.”

Buhari said immediately after he was sworn in, he would begin a process of national reconciliation, especially in the violence-prone areas of the Niger Delta and the North-East.

He said, “The actual division that is worth bothering about in terms of social instability and insecurity are in the North-East and the in the NigerDelta, which I think have been with this country long enough that we know how they started and what stage they are in now and we are confident that we will rapidly give attention to the insecurity in the country and I believe that we will deal with them within a few months in office.”

Mr. Buhari was expected to lose in Ondo, a PDP-controlled state, as he did in neighbouring Ekiti where the former military ruler lost in all the local government areas there.

There were predictions of even a tougher outing for Mr. Buhari in Ondo state where the South West co-coordinator for the Goodluck Presidential campaign Gov. Olusegun Mimiko hitherto held sway.

PoliticsI’ll Recommend Inec’s PVC To My Country – US Ambassador by 9jaroof(op):
The Ambassador of the United States of America, to Nigeria, Mr. James Entwistle, on Sunday applauded the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission to deploy technology for the conduct of the general elections which commenced on Saturday.
The ambassador, who spoke with journalists at the International Conference Centre, venue of the National Collation Centre of the polls results, said Nigeria’s Permanent Voter Card involved superior technology which his state of Virginia in the US needed to copy.
He said, “I am very impressed by the decision of INEC to use technology in this election. The Permanent Voter Cards are very high-tech.
“They are more high tech than my voter card from the state of Virginia in the US. My voter card does not have biometric. It does not have my fingerprint. The high-tech gives the process more integrity.
” I congratulate INEC on taking the part of High-tech. I think we need to come and study it so that we can use it in my country.”
He expressed hope that INEC would address the the challenges experienced in the use of card readers and move forward.
Entwistle, who said he monitored the elections in Abuja, expressed satisfaction over Nigerians’ patience and dedication to the smooth conduct of the exercise.
He said, “I was extremely impressed. Saturday I went to a number of places in the FCT.
“Every place I went, I was impressed by patience and dedication of the Nigerian voter. I found that inspirational.”
Entwistle further said Nigerians had reminded the world of how beautiful democracy was.
He said the expectation of the American government “is that he Nigerian people will win.”
He added that his nation’s government would be willing to work with anybody emerged as winner of the presidential election.
He said: “I mean they (people) will get what they want which of course is a transparent, credible and non-violent elections.
“We look forward to working with whatever government emerges from the elections.”

PoliticsAs #nigeriadecides, Here’s A BBC Profile On Pdp’s Presidential Candidate & Incum by 9jaroof(op): 2:38pm On Mar 29, 2015
As his name suggests, Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan has a habit of being in the right place at the right time.

Until November 2009, he was serving out his time as a low-key deputy from the south of the country to a low-key president from the north.

But then, President Umaru Yar’Adua was taken to hospital in Saudi Arabia and was not seen again in public until he died on 5 May 2010.

Step forward, Mr Jonathan. After months of political wrangling, Nigeria’s elite finally accepted him as acting leader in February 2010 when the ailing president returned home but remained too ill to govern.

Barely 12 hours after Mr Yar’Adua’s death, Mr Jonathan was sworn in as the new president and commander-in-chief of the armed forces of Africa’s most populous nation – one of its most fractious democracies.

Not bad for a man who had never been elected to major public office in his own right.
‘Super pastors’

He defied the governing People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) tradition of alternating presidential power between north and south after two terms of office by winning the party’s primaries.

In 2011, he won his first election – for president – despite opposition claims of fraud, and is now seeking another four-year term in office

line

Goodluck Jonathan in focus:

A supporter wears a mask of the Nigerian leader

Has a penchant for fedora hats
Regular church-goer
Middle name, Ebele, means “God’s wish”
Fond of saying he never had shoes as a child because of poverty
Told journalists in 2012 that he would not declare his assets because he did not “give a damn about it, even if you criticise me from heaven”
Denied reports in 2014 that his net worth is about $100m (£62m)

line

Born in 1957 in the oil-rich Niger Delta region, Mr Jonathan is a Christian from the Ijaw ethnic group.

He is said to be extremely close to the “super pastors” of Nigeria’s hugely popular Pentecostal churches.

His family’s trade was canoe-making, but he studied zoology at university.

He worked as an education inspector, lecturer and environmental protection officer before going into politics in 1998.

Many illegal oil refineries exist in Nigeria’s Bayelsa state, from where the president hails
Mr Jonathan is credited with ending the conflict with militants in Nigeria’s oil-producing region

Just as his rapid rise to power in the federal government owed a lot to luck, so too did his promotion to the state governor.

Elected as deputy governor in his home state, Bayelsa, in 1999, he was once again serving his time without particular distinction.

Until, that is, his boss was impeached on corruption charges.
‘Meteoric rise’

Mr Jonathan took over as governor and two years later was hand-picked by former President Olusegun Obasanjo to run on the PDP’s ticket as vice-presidential candidate in 2007.

PDP insiders regard him as a politician without a political base – and more of an administrator than a leader.

_80653439_goodluck_reuters
Mr Jonathan was chosen as the PDP’s presidential candidate for 2015 without a contest

It had been suggested that Nigeria’s many groups of powerbrokers agreed to let Mr Jonathan formally become acting president only because he was not seen as a threat.

But he threw his hat into the ring at the PDP primaries and with several central and northern states backing him, proved his political acumen.

“There has not been any rise that’s been so meteoric in Nigeria,” analyst Charles Dokubo said in 2010.

On the relevance of the acting president’s name, he said: “What is luck? Luck is when you can take advantage of an opportunity. He was in the right place at the right time

His wife Patience has faced allegations of corruptions

Journalist Ben Shemang is among the many Nigerians who believe Mr Jonathan’s name has given him an advantage.

He told the BBC that Mr Jonathan was doubly lucky as his other given name is equally propitious – Ebele, which means “God’s wish”.

“That tells you that it was the wish of the parents for him to be successful,” he said.
Amnesty

His rise to power, though, has not been without its share of controversy.

His wife, Patience, was investigated by anti-corruption officials in 2006 over allegations she tried to launder some $13.5m (£8.5m).

She has never been convicted of any wrongdoing over the affair and officials told Associated Press news agency that the case was “an old one”.

An insurgency waged by militant Islamists has caused havoc in the north

Boko Haram has vowed to create an Islamic state in Nigeria

If Mr Jonathan’s time as vice-president was distinguished at all, it was through his negotiations with militants in the Niger Delta, who are mostly his fellow Ijaws.

Many of the major militant groups have laid down their weapons as part of a government amnesty.
Defections

But he has had no such luck in the north, where an insurgency by militant Islamist group Boko Haram has gained momentum under his rule.

It has led to his critics accusing him of being ineffectual – a charge he denies.

Ex-military ruler Muhammadu Buhari is running against Mr Jonathan

He suffered a major blow in December 2013 when Mr Obasanjo, his former backer, called on him to step down.

In a widely circulated 18-page letter, Mr Obasanjo accused him of failing to deal with the many problems facing Nigeria – including corruption, piracy, kidnapping and oil theft.

More worryingly for Mr Jonathan, a powerful faction of PDP members – including state governors and MPs – defected to the newly formed opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).

As a result, the PDP lost, for the first time since it took power in 1999, its majority in the lower chamber, the House of Representatives.

Despite this, Mr Jonathan was elected unopposed as the PDP’s presidential candidate at its primaries in December.

“It is difficult to remove the incumbent, but he is barely hanging on,” says BBC Nigeria analyst Peter Okwoche.

Now, Mr Jonathan will be hoping that luck is once again on his side in this year’s elections, when he runs against APC candidate Muhammadu Buhari in what is likely to be its most tightly contested presidential election since military rule ended about 15 years ago.

PoliticsUN Provides N12 Bn For Nigeria Elections by 9jaroof(op): 10:04pm On Mar 27, 2015
The UN Secretary-General High Level Representative to Nigeria, Mohammed Ibn Chambas, said the United Nations has provided $60 million (N12 billion), to support Nigeria’s general elections.
Mr. Chambas disclosed this at a press conference in Abuja on Friday.

He said the UN was interested in Nigeria’s elections because ”the country is too important for the sub-region, the region and the world at large”.

Mr. Chambas explained that the UN had been involved in building institutions and capacity that were required for the elections.

“Several months even before this election, the UN deployed a Needs Assessment Mission and based on that needs assessment mission, certain areas were identified by INEC in particular.

“But also by National Human Rights Commission and many civil society organisations as to where they could benefit from institutional strengthening and human resource capacity building.

“We then came up with a budget which amounted to almost 60 million U.S. Dollars.

“This was mobilised for members-states and other international organisations and has been provided to Nigerian various institutions and organisations in the process of preparing towards this election.
“So that is the kind of ongoing work that the UN does throughout the period.

“And this has been the specific contributions that the UN has made and the UNDP managed this basket of funds that was collected.

“And I should say that one particular intervention that I am personally proud of is the creation of the National Peace Council which was an initiative out of the UN.
“To get a group of Nigerian eminent personalities and respected citizens to come together and to lead the clarion call for peaceful, credible elections.

“So, it is out of this peace council that we have seen, for instance, the two leading candidates, Mr President and General Buhari re-affirming their commitment to the Abuja Accord.

“Which itself is a product of the work of the UN through the former Secretary-General, Kofi Annan, other prominent Nigerians such as Prof Gambari through his Savannah Institute, Bishop Matthew Kukah through the Kukah Centre.
“UNDP was very instrumental in working with them, in bringing on board other partners which culminated in the establishment of the National Peace Council.”

He said that the UN’s interest in the election was borne out of the strategic importance and value of Nigeria.

“Even at the United Nations, Nigeria is a member of the Security Council. Nigeria on the African continent, is a natural leader providing leadership in the past and present on the issuer of peace and security.
“On economic issue, Nigeria is the biggest economy in Africa. Politically, Nigeria is acknowledged leader.
“So for all these reasons, and of course, Nigeria is also the largest democracy in Africa and definitely one of the largest democracies in this world.

“It is for this reason that the United Nations is particularly interested in this election and wants to be of help.”

He said the UN was trying to be of constructive value to Nigeria in ensuring peaceful, credible elections.
He said the organisation had been working with all Nigerian stakeholders, the leadership of political parties, the civil society organisations, among others.

The UN representative urged all Nigerians to be mindful of the burden and responsibility they carry, adding, “we all want to see a strong, stable, peaceful Nigeria”.

The Director of Defence Information, Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade, has said the troops of the Nigerian Army have captured Gwoza, the headquarters of the Islamic Caliphate, declared by the Boko Haram insurgents in the North-East.
Olukolade said in statement in Abuja on Friday that the city fell to a joint operation carried out by the ground forces and the fighter pilots of the Nigerian Air Force on Friday morning.
Several ground forces were deployed from Madagali in Adamawa State and Bama in Borno for the crucial operation to reclaim Gwoza, which the insurgents captured and renamed Darul Hikima last year.
Olukolade said the troops had earlier sacked the terrorists from several communities around Gwoza before the final onslaught on the town reputed to be the strongest Boko Haram enclave in the country.
According to him, the troops killed several of the insurgents and captured many others.
The Defence spokesman added that troops levelled the operational headquarters of the insurgents and seized several arms and ammunition from them.
He said the military had liberated all communities erstwhile occupied by the insurgents as of Thursday when the battle to reclaim Gwoza was raging.
He said, “Just this morning, the gallant troops of the Nigerian military in a concerted and well-coordinated land and air operations, liberated Gwoza, the headquarters of their(Boko Haram) so-called caliphate, which they renamed Darul Hikima.
“This was preceded by successive sacking of terrorists from towns and villages leading to Gwoza, the main target. Several of the terrorists died and many of them captured in the process. A lot of arms and ammunition have been recovered and the administrative headquarters completely destroyed.
“A massive cordon and search (operation) has commenced to locate any of the fleeing terrorists or hostages in their custody.”
He explained that the military observed that some of the fleeing terrorists were heading to the borders, where they might have encounter with troops of the Multi National Joint Task Force, who are under instruction to contain them.

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has allegedly frozen all accounts of well known Enugu based reverend father Ejike Mbaka,

Nairaland Reports that the reverend while giving his sermon narrated to his congregation how he went to withdraw money to buy food items for the poor masses that moved down from north because of the election, but to his surprise his cheques were returned.

When he enquired why he could not make any withdrawals, he was told EFCC has directed his accounts to be frozen. He stated that the commission is also inviting him to EFCC office in Port Harcourt for questioning.

The Reverend guessed the order may have been from President Goodluck Jonathan to cripple his activities during the elections that is coming up this weekend.

Politics16 Political Parties Endorse Buhari by 9jaroof(op): 5:56pm On Mar 26, 2015
Sixteen political parties in Ekiti State have endorsed the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), for the Saturday’s presidential poll.
The parties also passed a vote of confidence in the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, to conduct a free, fair and credible poll.
At a press conference in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, the political parties, which spoke through the Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, Mr. Tunji Ogunlola, said only Buhari, among the candidates, could deliver the Nigeria’s economy from the shackle of corruption and insecurity.
He said the task of rebuilding the nation was onerous but could be achieved if Nigerians keyed into the ‘change’ message which Buhari had brought.
Lamenting the level of insecurity and corruption under President Goodluck Jonathan’s current government, Ogunlola, a former Chairman of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties, promised that the 16 parties would work for Buhari’s victory at the poll.
He said, “We have thrown our weight behind Gen. Buhari in the interest of all Nigerians to salvage , liberate and rebuild the country.
“We, therefore, look forward to ensuring the resounding victory of Gen. Buhari, who will break the yoke of insecurity in the country.
“We appeal to eligible voters to actively participate peacefully in these elections and protect the sanctity of the electoral process, devoid of rancor and acrimony since election is a passing phase.
“We call on candidates of all political parties to remember the peace accord signed during the stakeholders’ meeting held recently and discourage their followers from participating in thuggery and politics of bloodshed.
“We, however, express concerns over indiscriminate arrest of opposition leaders in the state by the PDP-led government,” saying such action could cause violence in the state if it continues unchecked.

PoliticsA Man & Woman Publicly Stoned To Death By ISIS On Charges Of Adultery by 9jaroof(op): 11:43am On Mar 25, 2015
Islamic State militants in Iraq on Tuesday publicly stoned a man and woman to death on charges of adultery, parading the victims in a public square in the northern city of Mosul, according to witnesses and an Iraqi military official.

Later in the day, the militants publicly beheaded 3 young men on a street in central Mosul, accusing them of being the nephews of a political opponent of the Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIL.

They were the latest in a series of public executions of people accused of social offenses in the city, which the militants wrested from Iraqi control last June.

The stoning victims, who were not identified, were in their 20s, witnesses said. The woman was described as being married. It was not known whether they had been given a trial, but none was held in public.

Abu Mohammad al-Lahibi, who runs a clothing store in Mosul, said he had seen the militants gathering several hundred residents in front of the government building in Mosul to witness the execution. The couple were handcuffed, and the woman was wearing a niqab, or full face veil.

"Twelve ISIS militants were standing there who had bags with them filled with stones, and they began throwing the stones at them, and after the third stone the woman was killed,” Mr. Lahibi said. The man died a short while later, he said.

Another witness said he had tried to record video of the execution on his cellphone but was ordered by the militants not to do so.

“I was moved by the crying of this woman, who started bleeding and then died from the stoning,” said the witness, Saad, who gave only his first name out of concern for his safety. “I was standing there helpless. The government has left us as captives in the hands of ISIS, who make all kinds of crimes in the city. The more I see their crimes, the more I hate them and realize they have come to carry out a paid agenda to destroy the city and its history and civilization and to defame the image of Islam.”

PoliticsJonathan, Buhari Must Protect Nigeria’s Unity – Mu’azu by 9jaroof(op): 4:40pm On Mar 24, 2015
The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Adamu Mu’azu, has stressed the need for the PDP’s Presidential candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan and his All Progressives Congress counterpart, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), to caution their supporters against violence ahead of Saturday’s election.

Mu’azu gave the charge in a series of tweets on his official Twitter page on Tuesday.

Predicting that the poll would be peaceful, the PDP chairman tweeted a picture of Jonathan and Buhari shaking hands on May 29, the official handover day.

Mu’azu, who also promoted the ‘votenotfight’ hash tag, said the picture was symbolic because, “Politicians are friends no matter their party so don’t fight or kill yourselves because of politicians.”

Mu’azu, however, warned the opposition to desist from fomenting violence, noting that the PDP is a peaceful party.

He said, “Our party’s officials, contestants, agents and supporters must never be provoked to violence. We are a very peaceful party. This picture is symbolic because both candidates (Jonathan and Buhari) must hold on to our unity as a nation and tell their supporters.”

Mua’zu, however, expressed confidence that President Goodluck Jonathan would defeat Buhari in the Saturday’s elections because “ he has done so much within four years.”

Situation001:
Definition of terrorism... to some Nigerians or perhaps the way the media wants some idiots to see it..

if the perpetrator is a Christian or a jew or a non Muslim sha.. It is never an act of terrorism no matter how severe it may be.. it will never be termed as an act of terrorism.. the term is only reserved for Muslims

if those who carried out the act are unknown.. Then definitely the Muslims must be responsible for it.. no need of finding anything out.. all other people on earth are saints even the satanists.. it takes only a Muslim to be bad no matter how innocent he might be..

if the perpetrator is a Muslim (even when he only goes by a Muslim name) or has a Muslim background.. then the whole Muslim on earth have carried out an act of terrorism..

That is what the Muslims are facing today..

if your a Muslim accept this facts.. and never be surprised when you come across these things..

Yeah what you are saying is true

May God help us all..

Two female suicide bombers were on Sunday blew apart when the Improvised Explosive Devices, strapped on them, accidentally detonated.

The blast occurred at Auno village in the Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, a distance of about 15 kilometers away from Maiduguri, the state capital.

The suicide bombers, who were believed to be on a suicide mission to Maiduguri’s Monday Market, when the IEDs blew them apart in Auno town while waiting for a bus.
.
An eyewitness, Gana Bukar, who explained that the incident occurred at about 2pm on Sunday, said the bombs scattered the bodies of the suicide bombers, while seven other persons were injured and were rushed to Maiduguri General Hospital for treatment.

He said, “The suicide bombers were said to have been brought from Damaturu by one suspected Boko Haram terrorist, who dropped them in Jajana and told them to take a bus to the next town. On reaching Auno, they thought it was Maiduguri and they start asking about Maiduguri Monday Market.

“We were told that their master dropped them in Jakana because he knew that it would be very difficult for them to beat security checkpoints and enter Maiduguri.”

A taxi driver, Mallam Mohammdu Abor, who claimed that drove through Auno on Sunday afternoon, told journalists that he saw the mangled bodies of the suicide bombers by the roadside.

He said the people of the town were standing at a distance from the bodies as they were apprehensive that they might still have undetonated explosives on them.

Speaking on the matter, the spokesman for the youth vigilance group in Borno State, Jibrin Gunda, said he was informed about the incident, adding that his men had intensified their stop-and-search mission.
