Travel › Re: Canada Or Germany, Which Country Is Better? by 9jawindow: 11:23pm On Mar 27, 2019 |
Hadampson: Now, Jump up and let's talk about the military because Canada has available manpower of 16,000,000 (might not be accurate but if you know the actual number, don't hesitate to correct me) while Germany has about 37,000,000. Out of this number, 13 million are fit for service in Canada and 29.5 million are fit for service in Germany.
Canada active personnel sit roughly 79,000 people, with Germany having 108,000 soldiers. Canada however has more soldiers in reserve (32,000) than Germany (30,000)
As for the defense budget of Canada is $15.5billion and Germany defense budget is $39.2 billion. However all of these are completely useless, all the machines that they have would be out of commission if they didn't have OIL and when it comes to oil, Canada produces more oil than Germany.
All in all, both Germany and Canada are a good place to relocate to. If you want diversity and maybe cold, Canada is the right place for you and if you want freedom of movement and work (easy access travel to other European destinations) and cultural exposure, then i suggest you choose Germany
Oil is not necessarily a problem as they moving more to renewable energy, you already identified them as one of the leader in technology. Good analysis |
Travel › Re: Praying, Fasting, Whistle-blowing & Extreme Ways To Secure The Nigerian Passport by 9jawindow: 10:49pm On Mar 27, 2019 |
So sad SageTravels: Do you have a passport? A Nigerian Passport? Congratulations!
You are one of the lucky few who have endured the torment of queuing up for hours, days, weeks and sometimes months to secure a passport for the official fee of N17,800.
If you don’t have the patience for queues and weeks of meaningless visits, paying an official as much as N40,000 will guarantee you get your passport the same day or at most, in 3 days (depending on the state).
Apparently, I thought I could “do it on my own”. I made the grievous error of paying for my passport renewal online on January 4, 2019. Here is a quick rundown of how the immigration service has frustrated my life.
January 4:
Paid for Passport renewal online (a big mistake as not paying in cash and paying through your nose means your passport renewal/procurement process can take forever).
February 19:
I went to submit my old passport at the Oyo state command, and filled some forms. I was not told a capture was needed. I was only told to come back next week.
March 1:
I went to ask about my passport. Told to come back next week.
March 4:
Visited: no booklet, no passport.
March 6:
Visited and accidentally learned I needed to be captured (it was my first renewal ever). After nearly six hours of waiting, I was captured (picture taken and biodata captured on the portal). As I would later learn, allowing them to capture me when they were already complaining about booklet scarcity was another mistake because once you are captured, you cannot cancel or transfer to another state.
March 11:
Visited: no booklet, no passport.
March 13:
Visited, no booklet, no passport. I met with several officials who advised I meet with the Comptroller. I did meet and He asked me to meet with the official in charge. He was not on seat. The very next day, someone else was occupying the same seat and He did not attend to my request. Meanwhile, a friend told me his brother secured a passport at the Oyo state command within 4 days after paying N27,000.
March 15:
Visited, no booklet, no passport.
March 20:
Visited, no booklet, no passport.
March 25:
Visited twice. On my first visit, the officer I met told me they were attending to backlogs. No time for my passport. The comptroller was on his way out, I could not meet him. I went back by 3:30pm. He told me the person in charge is not on seat, I should check back when He returns. I asked another official who told me the said official had travelled for a marriage ceremony in faraway Kano. Another official asked me the Church I attend, and advised I start praying and fasting. Another official asked me to take my grievances to Servicom. Yet another official encouraged me to take to twitter.
In between these visits, I made countless phone calls to friends, family and immigration officials asking for help. Nothing has worked.
Why do I need my passport badly?
I have been selected as one of the top 24 entrepreneurs in the world with game-changing social enterprise ideas in the GIST TECH-I competition organized by the US Department of State. My flight is booked for April 13. Hotel booked. But I have no Visa. Why? I have no passport. I have also been selected as a Mandela Washington Fellow. I also need to submit my passport by the 27th of March (for Mandela Washington fellowship) and 28th of March (to process my Bahrain Visa).
Every time I visit the Oyo state command, I take along documents, explaining how I am going to be representing Nigeria in Bahrain for GIST TECH-I and why I need my passport badly. It seems I have been speaking Greek and the immigration service has left me no choice but to cry out to Nigerians to save me.
I have a few questions for the Comptroller General and the Comptroller in Charge of Oyo State:
Why is the immigration service always running out of booklets & dealing with backlogs?
Why are immigration officials immune to deadlines & genuine emergencies?
Why must an entire command stand still because an official is not around?
Why must I need to know someone who knows someone before I can secure my passport?
Why do I need to pay 2X or 3X the official rate before I secure my passport?
Why do I need to pray and fast, trend on twitter or write a diary such as this before I get my passport?
I have deadlines looming.
I am a law abiding citizen. No criminal records.
I am travelling to make Nigeria proud.
Immigration service, give me my Passport.

ikevictor: All this long epistle from this bereaved fool(Dele) is so that Buhari will give way for him and his team of extremely selfish demons to continue holding Nigeria to ransome as has been for the past 25 years. God will surely punish you wicked fools frustrating efforts of the government to move forward. Both APC n PDP, the demonic individuals know themselves, in addition to the goons that hop from one party to another.
We are watching and we are sure this hostage situation will surely end one day!!
Then the light will shine on us the masses...
BUT WE MUST GET OUR PVCs FIRST!!!
THATS OUR ONLY VISA OUT OF THIS DEMONIC CLAWS OF BAD GOVERNANCE!! Getting PVC is not the problem but who to vote? Seen none till date (with focus to the presidential election) those that have shown interest are either not credible or not ready . Our PVC may end up being useless without having the right candidate. A good example of ready and credible candidate should have similar/close characteristics of MKO Abiola, that's the best " example of presidential candidate " Nigeria has till date by fact. Whatever Nigerians saw and believe in him (at the time of his presidential campaign) that made majority unite in vote despite religion or tribe is what Nigeria needs now. Show me such person and I will show you Nigeria's next president or the usefulness of my PVC. |

One of the reasons former President Jonathan is respected today and enjoys some peace is because he gave you great respect though both of you fought tooth and nail over power. He tolerated many of us who supported you and did not make the occupation of Aso Rock a matter of life and death. |

Great movie , check it on Netflix fidalgo19: YouTube's music video for the hit song Despacito, which has had over five billion views, has been hacked.
More than a dozen other artists, including Shakira, Selena Gomez, Drake and Taylor Swift are also affected. The original clips had been posted by Vevo.
The Despacito video has been removed, but its cover image had shown a group wearing masks and pointing guns.
The hackers, calling themselves Prosox and Kuroi'sh, had written "Free Palestine" underneath the videos.
Several of the clips remain live at time of writing.
Of those, the actual video content itself appears to be unaltered. Many titles have been changed to include the names of the hackers, but only some feature the replaced cover image.

Both YouTube and the music video hosting service Vevo have been contacted for comment.
A Twitter account that apparently belongs to one of the hackers posted : "It's just for fun, I just use [the] script 'youtube-change-title-video' and I write 'hacked'."
"Don't judge me I love YouTube," it added.

Dear Dynamix Thank you so much for your selfless contribution. I am learning a lot from you and still looking forward to get more. Interestingly I got the motivation to go into pig farming from same oke aro though I have mine somewhere else but oke aro is A - Z hub of knowledge and lots of advantage. Your contribution is very appreciated because you owe none of us the sacrifice of time you are giving to type and post this information. Sincerely appreciated and please keep helping us.
I am just few months old in piggery but feeling like a year due to info I got from oke aro to kickoff the farm.
I will like to add one thing though which I observed in oke aro, space is a challenge when you start having more pigs then you have to buy or rent more pen, and it seems getting a pen to buy is difficult and can only be by finding an existing owner willing to sell as there are no new pen/ land space for pen. Renting is more possible and doesn't come cheap either. But it's a good place to start for newbie and possibly expand somewhere else if possible. |

If i were to be in power of authority ,i will mandate all Nigeria lecturers to watch the movie as our Nigerian lecturers have great lessons to pick from it as well. Imagine the student developing a drone and commit suicide due to the lecturer's frustration , a very sad end and that lecturer would think he/she is not a murderer , he has not only murdered a life he also murdered an invention, murdered a dream and murdered the family joy/hope at that point .
Lecturers need to learn that they are not God |

Hi, I believe your current concern has nothing to do with her attitude since you can cope with it and she is respectful and generally a good person. If you are concerned about the age then look at what the mother looks like and picture yourself with her that old. Though I think you have more things to border with: 1) You are her first supposed boy friend, there is a lot you will observe after marriage which you will assume she should know but since she has no experience with previous relationship that gap will be obvious after marriage , you need to prepare your mind around that 2) Establishment of your relationship is comical (she dated you to relieve you from past heart break) . Please break the relationship and start a defined one , dont elevate comic to serious establishment (through just mare mind understanding that "we are now serious" , once the marriage is signed women automatically promotes them self to the next level and you will discover some assumptions you never knew existed . |
