The families of the six traders in Apo, Abu­ja, popularly known as “Apo Six”, who were allegedly murdered by some policemen led by the Dep­uty Commissioner of Police (DCP) in-charge of Oper­ations, Mr. Danjuma Ibra­him, 12 years ago, have said that “there can be no justice in the matter again having waited for more than a dec­ade to secure justice at the Abuja High Court.”

Five traders and the fi­ancée of one of the victims were on June 8, 2005, killed by trigger-happy policemen at Gimbya Street, Area Elev­en, Abuja, when they were returning from a nearby night club.
A police probe panel chaired by then Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) Mike Okiro had found the policemen cul­pable and recommended their immediate dismissal from the NPF.

Similarly, a Judicial Pan­el of Inquiry setup by the Fed­eral Government against the backlash of protests resulting from the killings, chaired by Justice Olasumbo Goodluck, also confirmed the indict­ment by the Okiro Panel and asked the government to ten­der a public apology and pay N3 million compensation to each of the deceased families, which the government com­plied with.
But, 12 years after the ac­cused were charged to court, the matter has suffered sever­al adjournments, leading to re­sentments being expressed by the families of the deceased.
Rising from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court session on Monday, which again postponed judg­ment on the matter, the fami­lies of the victims stormed The AUTHORITY Newspapers’ corporate office in Abuja, in­sisting that “there must have been more to it all,” adding that “there can never be justice after 12 years of delay in delivering judgment on this matter.”
They stated that “with the unnecessary delays being expe­rienced on this matter, with the judge being ready every time to accept an adjournment, we are convinced that those who killed our brothers are actual­ly above the law and that there will be no justice at the end in this matter.”
“The court of law, as they say, is the last hope of the com­mon man, but the way the whole matter is being delayed, we can’t understand what is be­hind it.”
“How can anyone tell us that one of the senior police officers that killed our rela­tions will be walking about the streets in Abuja freely, while we are still brooding over our late relations 12 years after they were gruesomely murdered?
“We even heard that this man is a consultant and con­tractor with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and this man was im­mediately granted bail and he has been moving about doing his normal business as if noth­ing mattered, while our fam­ilies groaned endlessly over these losses and the court is not helping matters through endless adjournments.
“We appeal to the Federal Government and well-mean­ing Nigerians to remind the court that this type of delayed judgment is no longer justice. Justice delayed is justice denied and we have witnessed it our­selves. We don’t know what else to do but, we have decided to handover this matter to God.
“Whatever they like and whenever they like, let them deliver whatever judgment they want to deliver. That cer­tainly is no justice. But God will judge all of us,” the families’ spokesman, Mr. Elvis Raphael Ozor, stated.
This expression of disen­chantment was made after an Abuja High Court, headed by Justice Ishaq Bello, on Mon­day adjourned the matter till March 9, 2017.
The court had earlier scheduled judgment on the al­leged extrajudicial killing of the victims but informed the par­ties that the judgment was not ready yet.
The accused were ar­raigned on a nine-count charge of conspiracy and culpable homicide, which the prosecu­tion led by Chief Chris Uche (SAN) submitted, contra­vened the provisions of Sec­tions 97 and 221 (a) of the Pe­nal Code Law.
The police officers stand­ing trial are DCP Danjuma Ibrahim, Othman Abdulsala­mi, Nicholas Zakaria, Ezeki­el Acheneje, Baba Emmanuel and Sadiq Salami.
They were accused of cul­pable homicide over the al­leged killing of Messrs Ifeanyi Ozor, Chinedu Meniru, Isaac Ekene, Paulinus Ogbonna, An­thony Nwodike and Miss Au­gustina Arebun.

The federal government has disclosed it will introduce speed cameras on Nigeria’s roads to help the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) curtail excessive speeding by motorists and improve safe use of the roads.

The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, said this yesterday after he inspected ongoing repair works on the different sections of the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway ahead of the planned closure of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja and diversion of air traffic to the Kaduna Airport.

Fashola also explained that repair works on the road has recorded some impressive progress with 130 out of its 160 kilometres already covered.

Fashola said in a statement from his senior special adviser on communications, Mr. Hakeem Bello in Abuja, that he saw an accident that occurred a day before his visit, and that most accidents on Nigerian roads were not necessarily from failed road networks but from irresponsible use of the roads by drivers who he alleged were less qualified to drive on the roads.

He noted that his ministry would support the FRSC to improve safe use of Nigerian roads, and advocated for the retraining for drivers.

The FRSC, he stated, has continued to address the problem in terms of education, enlightenment and the introduction of speed limiting devices but that his ministry would further their efforts in the short to medium terms by introducing some speed cameras to deter people from excessive speeding.

“I think that it is fair to say that not many people who manage vehicles on our roads are actually trained to manage vehicles on the roads; many people are auxiliary drivers for want of something better to do. There are rules in the operation and utilisation of automobiles,” said Fashola.

The minister also said that it was the job of the government to ensure safe use of roads and that it was not going to give it up.

On the outcome of his inspection, Fashola said the work on the road was an emergency repair and not a reconstruction which he said would come later after an ongoing procurement exercise on it is concluded.

According to him, the repair works would essentially remove the potholes and reduce the risk of accidents.

“The work that is being done here, you must understand this is a road of more than 160 kilometres. We are at kilometre 130 from Abuja. So, the work that is being done as I said is an emergency intervention essentially to remove the dangerous potholes and eliminate potential hazards that could cause accidents for motorists on this road.

“So, the road needs to be rebuilt because it has been subjected to a lot of axle load. But what we are doing right now is emergency repairs to remove the potholes to make the road safe for commuters ahead of the planned reconstruction and repair of the Abuja Airport runway which will lead to a diversion of air traffic and passengers from Abuja to Kaduna which will start on the 8th of March,” he said.

He added that the role of his ministry was to make the road motorable and safe for commuters, and that it would be delivered on time for use.

“You can see that some sections have been resurfaced completely but that is not the main reconstruction of the road; let us be clear about what is happening here.

“The whole purpose of this contract is to cover the potholes on the 160 kilometres road two lanes on one side and two lanes on the other side; so that is really to cover 620 kilometres of potholes; that is a contract for N1 billion.

“So, let’s be clear about that. This is emergency short term. When the Bureau for Public Procurement (BPP) gives the no objection contract, we will start when the airport runway would have been completed,” he stated.

Pls never you allow then to top your gas for you,is either you let them check were the gas is leaking from,but if you can't have the patients for them to check,always Make sure they drain the formal gas in the system before refilling another 1.
Reason is they are different kind of gas in the market now some are mixed gas they aren't pure gas,some will just deceive us by writing the same organic name on the body,but do you no the kind of gas inside it,some are mixed with 22 gas,that is what use to damage our compressors,bcuz different chemical reactions are busy fighti each other inside your car before you know it,the entire system will be black and your compressor will knock up.

They don't need to loose out your evaporator before they know is leaking,@mosbus cool we have tools to run leakage test,bec ause some care... requires you to loose out dashboard,but for us we don't go through that stress before we confirm that your evaporator is leaking.
