Read up you’ll get enough evidence or ask a citizen. That's the fraud on taxpayers ,Trump and citizens are complaining about in birth tourism. It’s not a self pay discount, it’s charged back. If not why do you’ve to pay it back if it was really a legal discount for non-tax payers?

I’m not against birth tourism, that’s why I’m here ,but let’s be honest it’s not A LEGAL DISCOUNT.

If not it’s America ,the doctors would have dragged them to court by now because it’s affecting them financially.

People get as much as 8,000$ -10,000$ discount they’re not aware of until they request for zero balance letter for visa renewal, Newyork and Virginia for example.

You keep saying it's not legal, please tell me one hospital that has been prosecuted for this 'tax fraud' ? America does not joke with tax fraud u knw. And doctors cant drag them to court cos the government did not accuse any doctor of giving illegal discount.

Next month is not far, you may reapply for a new one, I don't think they do change the purpose of traveling that easily. BTW if giving birth there is the reason, as long as your spouse or you are a US citizen or permanent resident don't worry that much

Oga where are u getting this info from ? Abeg calm down. No child born on US soil will be denied his or her citizenship regardless of the parents status, that's what the constitution says.the problem now is entering the US to have that baby so whether one partner is American or not it doesn't affect the child's right until the constitution is amended.

From experience that a close relative had, in your new application come clean.u will be asked on your application form if you've been known by any other name, please say yes and put that name u used 10 years ago. If you answer No peren! That's 10 years ban. U will now include a cover letter explaining how u were mislead 10 years ago but now u knw better. U dnt need to do any change of name. All they want is honesty.

Hello house,
Please I need help, seeeeerious help! When I was younger ( i mean about 10yrs ago) my desperation to visit my friends in the UK took a better part of me. I made some decisions back then and trust me they are bad ones ( very very bad ones). Used a different name and dob ( travel agent's instructions) I also did biometrics o!.

Aside wanting to visit UK now,my major worries are
1) what would happen if I tender my real information now.( I can't risk my passport seized)

2) if eventually all these countries start sharing visa application data, what would become of my future US,Canada and Schengen applications .
I have a valid US and lots of expired of schengen visas .Aside the sudden urge to visit UK ,I also need to clear my mess.
Please,I need advise.

We can go back and forth on this forever. People that have ears and eyes have already picked what they can and moved on. If they decide to see it as a crime, then you can do absolutely nothing about it. The deal with the users and also deal with the providers as best suits them. If they've refused you, please find ways to make amends by paying up the balance. Hopefully things will change

I actually I haven't been refused, and if in future I get refused,I ain't paying no dime back cos I didnt do anything wrong..i didnt take no medicaid, I signed a package that stated 'self paid ' I will gladly pay back a discount that was offered to me when the hospital I used get convicted of medicaid fraud.its only people that see America as 'HAVEN' all this will affect. If I dont visit America in 10 years I wont die. I dont understand why we put up a defence for this treatment. Cant deal!

You see one thing we don't realize is that there are lots of Americans on this forum. I've been on this thread for years. I just read for information purposes. It has never been in my plan to give birth in the US, not that I can't afford it. It's simply cos of what's happening today. We saw it and decided against it. 98% of people that come here always ask for hospitals that give discounts. I can count the number of persons I know that paid in full. I've had emergency cases and I was a self pay patient. I paid in full, even when I was told I could negotiate. I refused to do it cos I know America never forgets. It's sad really but we brought it on ourselves. Look at what's happening in Canada today. It used to be one of the easiest visas to get. Things have changed. It is well oooo.

Let me get your point, getting a discount from a service provider is a crime?

It's really so sad that things have turned this way. I knew this day would come. I saw this over 10yrs ago. It helped me in taking certain steps that I need. I will advise that you all should forget about giving birth in the US for now especially if it's not because of medical reasons. Don't jeopardize your family's chances of getting visas tomorrow. A lot of families I know are devastated because of this. The truth is that you can't tell a country when to change their policies. You can only pray it doesn't affect you. What everyone is seeing now is the result of years of abuse of opportunities by Nigerians. They started with Medicaid now it's discount. They will soon move to another country and start all over again. The citizenship you are looking for won't even be beneficial to the child till he's 18yrs. Please channel your finances to better use. It's better for you to get your visas renewed all the time than be banned. Be wise!!

When you say abuse of discount I actually dont get it..but from my angle,I contacted an hospital that I would like to have my baby and I'll be paying out of pocket.the hospital has a policy of applying a certain percentage of discount to self paid patients, I made my payments presented all this correspondence at the embassy got a visa and few years down the line the same embassy that granted the visa with the discount has a problem with the discount..in a painted scenario like this, how did I abuse the discount offered to me?

The hospitals provide a valuable service to us, you don’t. Simple as that.

The hospitals are funded by taxes we pay, so yes it is our responsibility to ensure that you don’t use loopholes to exploit them.

Third, whether you register at the hospital with a visa or not is not my problem. Why don’t you respond to the VOs with this same level of self-entitled arrogance and see if you get a visa.

I have no idea of what you are going through but I empathize with u ok..ok now,its your responsibility as a tax payer to check me but ignore the service provider that I didnt not force to put up a price on their website? Com'n dnt be clever by half mate. I am not the one tripping over American visa let's be clear on that. Some of this people presented this same bills and quotes! And they were granted visa so tell me what's changed or you just decided to turn a blind eye to that fact? If stating the obvious is being self-entitled + arrogance!! Mate,I love it.

Poor Americans are US citizens who don’t require a visa. It’s not their responsibility to make sure you know the rules. The hospitals are not permitted to ask about your citizenship when offering you care. It’s not their fault that you’ve been exploiting a loophole all along. Besides, it isn’t punishment to deny you a visa, you can have your baby anywhere, your choice.

Mr trigger, do you realize nobody register at the hospital without a valid ID or a copy of your visa? So if am registering with a visa how am I taking advantage of the loophole? The way you take carry this matter for head can you have the same energy for the hospital?

But wait... the quotation above was from a US hospital and nowhere was it stated that the cost is for Poor or Rich america. Please i need enlightenment, if you visit the same hospital are you not going to pay the same price quoted above for the same purpose if you are paying out of pocket? or is there something i dont know? am asking because many people visit US hospitals not only for birth but for other issues and they paid the exact money quoted by those hospital in cash, how as that amounted to a crime? Agreed it's their country and its their visa, how is it reasonable for me to see two hospitals rendering the same services or procedures and you ask me to go for the higher cost. @Twood i actually need your input here maybe there is a policy that majority are not aware of as regard Medical Visit in US

God bless you for this...some of this quotes were clearly stated on the website of all this hospitals, now penalizing the patients and excluding the hospitals seems fair right?
What are this 'poor' Americans doing about this hospitals? Please let's keep same energy. If a VO/ American government feels an international patient should be punished by receiving a discount what about the hospital that facilitated the discount? It's ok to refuse an applicant if u want to,your country, your rules. But please come correct with a reasonable excuse not one sided punishment.

What is the outcome of that lawsuit? Lawyers making a killing out of people's ignorant

Can you explain what is ignorant about sueing a consulate? You lot speak like you work with the VO's & at the consulate.if a government can be sued why cant the consulate be sued? Yes their visa can or might be a privilege but it doesn't make them immune to a lawsuit.

Smh for US embassy. Who’s chasing them. They should calm down mbok. I still don’t know why we keep going to their embassy with the rate of high denials dashing them out hard earned money.

They still keep giving people that would not return to their home country and denying people that have no reason to stay in their country.

God bless Nigeria!!! US embassy , una go Dey alright las las.

Their piss taking is on another level now u knw, I totally agree with u I dnt knw why we keep going back to them.may God heal this our land (Nigeria).
A friend and her mum(70 yrs) went to renew their visas last week, they were refused.according to the VO 'the last time you got your visa together but you didn't travel together at this time you don't qualify for another visa'. Can you just imagine! Now they are using us to play ping-pong in Nigeria.

She should go back to the embassy whenever she is medically able to and show them that she is in Nigeria and did not overstay, which is all they want to verify. They don't care whether she used the visa or not (and her serious accident is reason enough for why she didn't); all they care about is ensuring that she didn't abuse the visa and is in Nigeria now, not somewhere in France or Europe illegally.

Thank you so much she will do that.please just to clear things up the embassy or that manor house VFS center?

Hello everyone, making this enquiry for my sister.she's a bit confuse at the moment She was issued a French business visa last year, the embassy put the normal return back to the embassy after trip slip in her passport but unfortunately the visa was not used till it expired. she had a serious accident she couldn't make the trip cos she was hospitalized so she was unable to appear back at the embassy.she later sent them an email to explain which she didn't get a response to.we just want to findout if this will affect her future applications as she's is trying to apply for tourist visa with her husband for summer holiday.thanks for the anticipated response.

Sorry about your refusal, getting a us a visa these days is almost impossible, have been refused thrice, despite being to America over 4 times on two visas.
The US embassy Abuja had a live chat on Facebook a few weeks back where various questions bothering Nigerians where answered by the consulates and the issue of visa fee refund after a refusal was tackled . They indirectly stated that the visa is free, the fee paid is actually used for the application process of the visa, So it’s an Application fee. For that reason a refund after refusal is not possible.

Nawa o...I have a 221g coming up soon and reading all this stories my energy is deflated.
