It actually depends on your breed, feeding, sex etc. But the fastest way we make a pig burn fat in our farm is to reduce the feed intake and feed the right composition of feed for the right age mostly the protein and energy part, make sure you dont give them excess, especially the female and castrated male pigs.

The main scope is to start monitoring and controlling their growth around 55kg or 60kg - 100kg. they easily accumulate fat at this stage.
but the most important thing is to have the right breed. Always select lean pigs as your breeding stock. Look at them very well because a pig can grow fast and be big but its just full of fat with little muscle .

Pigs don't sweat, so yes they still need a wallowing pond for cooling their body to prevent over heating,
and this is different from the water they drink.
If you cannot afford to construct a wallowing pond, you can be spraying them water or use a shower or allow them play outside in the mud.

The price should be around 1500 - 1800 for a very big bag which you can easily get around you or or get it from a normal market .
Some feed mill sell it around 70 - 90 naira per kg incase you want to grind it and mix it with other feeds but actual prices depends on your location.

thank you for your response, did you mean 30k is too much for a purebred female pig. how much would you suggest i bargain it to?

30k is not too cheap for a pureline weaner but 30k is too cheap for a 5month old pig unless the pig has not been growing well

You can use cassava peel
