Try getting a new charger with at least "DC5V=1000mA"
Thats at least the normal voltage that can charge m2 while ur making use of it..
But anything with "DC5V=500mA" will take forever to charge ur fone, unless u keep it idle to charge...

How & in wat circumstances/situation does ur fone get hot..?
U dont expct you fone not to get hot when overuse it..
No one has ever complained of such issue..
You need to figure out whats overheating your device its definately not the rom..

Guys please help me . a friend of mine told me that I can upgrade my 4.2 gionee m2 custom rom to 4.4 kit kat by simply flashing the aosp ROM through cmw recovery . I flashed it and it bricked the phone . is it that I didn't flash it well or it is not possible to upgrade to kit kat through aosp .please quick response will be appreciated

First off flashing the AOSP rom via 4.2 won't ever brick your device unless of course you didn't follow the installation instuctions properly..

I assume you are using Carliv Touch Recovery what you should do before flashing any new rom is "WIPE DATA PREFLASH" the first option in the wipe menu, it quite different from "WIPE DATA FACTORY RESET"..
So try again and this time " Wipe Data Preflash" before installing the AOSP..

You should realize that its not everyone that knows this workaround & I believe he (XavierG) was talking out of experience just like everyone else here (me included) knows GravityBox™ doesn't work with stock KitKat..

I had to visit the link you posted & quite frankly one can barely understand the whole post unless you look very carefully before seeing the YouTube video tutorial link..

I believe what you could have done was make a detailed tutorial yourself on how to go about the whole setup the way everyone will understand..

I have to flash my stock KitKat in order to test the workaround, yes it did work but a lot of stuff were not allowed to be tweaked via GravityBox™ due to heavy modifications done by gionee..

It's a helpful post anyway, buh u really need to keep your temper in check..

The volume down + power button doest work..
However open "Xposed Installer" tap on "Modules" tick the "Gravity Box" option the go back and install framework if you have not..
You can do that by taping on the "Framework" ignore any warning that pops up, then tap "Install/Update" grant it super user acess and reboot..
You should now see "Screenshot" on your statusbar Quick settings tile..

Thats an error from your downloader...
Its 424mb bro..
Dont use the default android downloader, it misbahaves at times..
Use another browser like "UC Browser" or " Opera Browser" so you dont get errors...

I assume you are running stock KitKat..

Try adding a space between AT+EGMR

Example : Normally it looks like this "AT+EGMR"
Now add a space in between AT and + it should look like this "AT +EGMR"

Try it and see if it works for you man..

I don't attack your posts.
I've been endorsing your other Rom cuz Its one of the best out there and its what I use.
The thing is.... I tried this Rom and did not get a fairer result other than a couple of new apk's added to the previous one.
If that's the only upgrade you made to it, this Rom is nothing.

Thats whats you observed..
You might as well try comparing the build.prop of this one and the previous one i posted..

You might not have xperienced any issue on the previous one but some users complained of ram issue and that has been fixed on this..

So please its not just a few new apps like you think, try observing things a lil more before thinking about posting discouraging reviews..

You can only use firmware upgrade if you are still on jelly bean and want to upgrade to kitkat, or if you format the device via sptool..
But if your already on kitkat if you use firmware upgrade sptool will give you error thats for sure...

Yes it should be flashed with SP flashtool, download the one you see on the gionee update page..

Someone obviously deleted the systemUI..
Buh just incase am wrong, try resetting the fone with CWM..
If its still not fixed use "wipe all data preflash" when its done you can restore the backup if there is one or any custom rom if available..
That should fix it..
Make sure you have a perfect working backup before wiping o..

If you recently purchased the phone lets say not more than 2mnths then probably its an 8gb version..
But all the same try both files 4gb or 8gb, start with 8gb 1st..
Well am guessin u have all necessary drivers installed..
Try these..

1 : Load scatter file of the 8gb and when thats done, use "Download" instead of "Firmware Upgrade" and mind you, there are two folders zipped in the rom, identify the one that is the real folder with the actual rom files and delete the other so you dont get confused..

2 : Just incase the above methods didnt work you have no option but to load scatter file and format the fone, however u'll end up getting stuck with invalid imei, buh u cam always fix that with mobileuncle..
When your done formatting you can now flash the rom again using "Download" hopefully it'll work..

Give it a try..

Now I have gotten a guide on how to unbrick it but the problem is I am suppose to flash with either the 4GB or 8GB stock Rom and I do not know if mine is the 4GB version or that with 8Gb. Pls is there any wayI can know whether it is the one with 4GB or 8Gb Rom without powering the phone to check the spec?

If na so d tin confuse u reach, u 4 just kukuma download both files for 4gb & 8gb..
Flash each of the files 1 must work..
