I am Igbo and I would like to gain greater understanding of the word akata as many say its a slur but others say different. Some say it means wild cat, stray cat, lost or whatever. So what does it actually mean?

Please only Yoruba people answer.

Akata means a wild cat that does not live at home. It is supposed to be an endearing term for those we lost to slavery. However, it has been weaponized as derogatory, a slur in fact.
It is better not to use it for African Americans if you want peace.

A dentist once performed a minor surgery instead of total extraction, though I suggested the latter earlier. He said it was a new and better procedure.

A week later I was in severe pain and the extraction was done. The hospital only gave me 20% discount. That's why I don't blame people who insist on medical trips.
