Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia said on Sunday that some American investors would soon visit the state to start its investment opportunities in Abia.

The governor who embarked on a trip to US about some few weeks ago in a bid to bring foreign investors back to Abia state, came back last weekend, He addresses some journalist at Government House, Umuahia, yesterday, about his trip and how successful it went!

While addressing the newsmen, Ikpeazu said that during the trip, he held discussions on the possibility of establishing a cancer machine factory in the state.

He said that he also spoke with a team of health experts on how to upgrade the existing health facilities in the state to international standard.

Ikpeazu said that investors from Philadelphia were also expected in Abia to start the greenhouse technology, the modern trend in agriculture.

He explained further that he had commenced discussions for a partnership between the state and some U.S.-based investors in the education, trade and commerce sectors to move the state forward.

The governor said that the state of Maryland would collaborate with Abia State University, Uturu, to assist the institution in the areas of equipment and facilities.

Yesterday in Anambra state, confusion rocks some churches, as the members of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB were marking their 16 years Anniversary clashed with the police and no fewer than 25 members of the MASSOB were arrested, while one was shot by the police and other security operatives at the various churches in the state.

According to report, about 11am Sunday, there was one Personnel Armored Carrier in a long cue along Patrolling the Onitsha Owerri Expressway.

At St Charles Lwanga Catholic Church Okpoko, 18 MASSOB members were said to have been arrested and one shot, while those that were not arrested continued with the thanks-giving church service.

At Iba Pope Catholic Church, Awada, 11 members of MASSOB were equally reported to have been arrested by the police who were said to have laid ambush on the MASSOB members who were said to have gone to worship with their uniforms at the church.

The Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) vowed that it would go ahead with activities to mark its 16th anniversary, saying that it has no agenda for violence contrary to the stance of the police.

But Abia state police command had issued a statement against the rally, the police public relations officer (PPRO) Onyeke Udeviotu, in the statement said that it would not allow the planned rally to hold as it would endanger public peace and Nigeria still remains “indivisible and united nation”.

Meanwhile the MASSOB Regional Administrator for Ikwuano, Davidson Ohaegbu told journalists at Umuahia yesterday that the event scheduled for Sunday, September 13 would be celebrated with church thanksgiving and peaceful rally hence the police should not associate it with violence.

“There is every need to celebrate sixteen years of brutalisation, sixteen years of imprisonment, sixteen years of all sorts of intimidation and harassment, but God has been so kind to us to uphold the struggle, that is why we will be going to all the churches to give thanks giving because it has not been an easy struggle,” he said.

Strange as we may call it but real, Salongo Kawuki Bwogere, a Ugandan man, abandoned his wife, 35-year-old Faridah Nantumbwe and his children after she gave birth to the fourth albino child two years ago. Her told his wife that in their clan they did not produce albinos, whom he described as a curse, News Daily Vision reports.

He also barred his wife from cultivating on their land. Nantumbwe, now resident in Mugongo, Uganda said she used to live with her husband at Kirume village Gombolola Kasambya in Mubende district where they had their children.

Following the activities of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) and Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (Massob) members in the country, the Inspector General of Police has release a statement ordering immediate arrest of anybody caught in the movement, the statement reads:

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon E. Arase NPM Fdc has ordered an immediate clamp down on person or group of persons inciting violence and social disorder across the country.

This directive becomes imperative owing to recent activities of members of the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign States of Biafran (MASSOB) and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in some parts of the country.

This operational order empowers the police to arrest anybody fomenting any act of violence or disorder, or any act inimical to the security of the nation. So far the following arrest have been made viz ; Anambra State – 4 ; Imo State – 6 ; Delta State -11 and Abia State – 1.

A curious video showing a group of ants racing in circles around an iPhone as it rings has gone wide this week, sparking a host of theories as to what could have caused the bizarre phenomenon.

In the video the insects are initially seen walking normally in different directions.

When the iphone begins to ring and vibrate, however, the ants mysteriously form a ring around the phone, racing around it in almost perfect circles.

According to ViralVideoLab, who uploaded the video to YouTube last week, lamented that ant’s weird behaviour is caused by an “electromagnetic wave” from the incoming call.

A tanker loaded with gas exploded at Aba Owerri road Aba,

The cause of the exploded was said to been a the driver was coming out of a fueling station and had a brake failure as he was trying to divert to the other lane and it got exploded!

The tanker explosion that rock Aba owerri road today, occurred at opposite Universal Oil Nigeria Limited/ Concordia Oil Fueling station near Onwuka nails Abayi Aba, Osisioma Local Government Area.

One of the shop owner’s who witness the explosion narrated her story:

“I was at the shop and next thing we saw, a tanker failed brake and hit at the road demarcation which led the breaking of the tanker it self and before we know it the gas which the tanker was conveying flow throw the tared road to the other side of the road our shop; as you can see this is the Charcoal which catch the fire that led to the explosion of the tanker it self” she added.

But no life was lost, only few people sustain injuries!

News reaching ABACITYBLOG has it that Okezie Ikpeazu, and PDP had gone on Appeal against the decision of the Tribunal that : All preliminary objections shall be taken along with the substantive petition.

There were a total of 3 motions that PDP and Ikpeazu approached the the court of appeal sitting in Owerri with three motions to overrule Otti’s petition.

It was gathered that two were struck out and just now the court of appeal has ruled in favour of Dr. Alex Otti.

The Governorship Election Tribunal sitting in Umuahia, started late today and they has fixed October 14th for Final addresses.

Dr. Livy Uzoukwu(SAN) and other lawyers appeared for INEC apologized for their lateness and then proceeded by tendering of documents from the bar.

Uzoukwu tendered CTC of INEC directory of polling units in Abia State. (It appears that by this act, 3rd Respondent is about closing her case) The judge says the documents shall be marked as Exhibit 3RB01 The 3rd respondent went on to say that since there is presumption in favour of the results tendered by both sides 1st Respondent, 2nd Respondent and the Petitoner, that under this circumstance they are not calling further evidence. “We shall be waiting for the final address”.

In response, the Petitioner said: “The rules are simple. Since 3rd Respondent is not given further evidence we expect that they have 10 days to write their final address, Petitioner has 7days to reply on points of Law to the addresses, and 5 days for Respondents to reply back.

President Muhammadu Buhari has moved against Christian religious activities within the precincts of the Aso Rock presidential villa, a source familiar with the matter has disclosed.

The Aso Rock Villa Chapel serves as the official church of Aso Rock where Christian activities inside the presidential villa are conducted.

According to an eyewitness who spoke to The Trent on Thursday, September 3, 2015 on condition of anonymity, heavily armed men stormed the Aso Rock Chapel on Sunday, August 30, 2015 denying worshippers access to the church.

“Normally, services begin by 7am at the church. But when we got there, we met armed security men who said we cannot enter. They said they were acting on orders from above. We waited outside till a few minutes past 8am before they allowed us to enter,” the source disclosed.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who worships at the Villa Church, was also embarrassed as he arrived the Chapel and could be seen managing to conceal a worried expression over the incident.

When Trent contacted Presidential Spokesman Garba Shehu to confirm the development, he claimed he was not aware of the incident.

He said:

“What you are telling me is news to me. I am not aware of this issue. There is a lot we are dealing with and I hope you are aware the church was handed over to Vice President Osinbajo. So please call Prince Laolu Akande, his spokesman to confirm this issue,” he said.

Abia State Government yesterday said that its financial profile is not in a healthy state, following the several denials by former Governor Theodore Orji that his administration left a reasonable amount of funds in the state coffers at the end of his tenure, as the new government is insisting that it met an empty treasury as well as inheriting huge debts from the past administration.

The Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, Mr. Godwin Adindu, who revealed this at the Government House, Umuahia, recently during a chat with newsmen, noted that the financial recklessness of the past administration appears to be putting clog in the wheels of the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s administration.

“The governor is yet to settle down; there is no funds to work with. Ikpeazu inherited a government that was in a mess, huge debts here and there and that was why the governor sought for the N30 billion loan facilities to execute some of his capital projects,” Adindu said. The CPS had in a press release July said that report from the Debt Management Office (DMO) Abuja indicated that Abia State, is among the least indebted states in the country on both local and foreign loans, further said that the messy financial situation has contributed to the delay in the payment of salary backlogs as promised the civil servants during campaigns.

The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Mr. Femi Adesina, on Friday, clarified that President Muhammadu Buhari suspended the Comptroller-General, Nigeria Immigration Services (NIS), David Parradang, for unauthorized recruitment into the Service.

Adesina, who replied Vanguard’s enquiry in a Short Message Service (SMS), dispelled insinuations in some quarters that Parradang was suspended because an ISIS chief, Ahmed Al Assir, got entry visa at the Nigerian embassy in Lebanon to visit Nigeria.
He said:

“The suspension of Comptroller-General, Nigeria Immigration Services (NIS), David Parradang, today (Friday), was not connected to the probe of how the ISIS chief got the Nigerian visa but for unauthorized recruitment into the Immigration Service.”

Super Eagles Coach Sunday Oliseh has revealed why Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel was not on the list of invited players for the match against Tanzania on September 5, Oliseh’s first as head of Nigeria’s national side.

Though many fans had queried the new coach for omitting Mikel from his 18-man foreign pro list for the Tanzania game, but the Eagles boss made a shocking revelation on Thursday, saying Mikel refused to have a word with him despite all the channel of communication he opened with the midfielder.

Oliseh revealed that aside the several phone calls and SMS messages to Mikel, the player also failed to show up at a planned meeting in London, which his club teammate Victor Moses gladly attended.

“Till now I have not spoken with Mikel,” Oliseh began in his interview with the NFF’s official website.

Sometime in 2014, a young beautiful girl, Ms Precious, completed her university education and the National Youth Service Corps programme in Edo State. Precious, as she identified herself while nude in a video, decided to seek better opportunity outside Nigeria. She chose a booming beautiful Arab city, Dubai, as her port of future success. Precious convinced her parents to finance her desire to travel. Her mother had no option than to support her by processing the needed travel documents to her dreamland.

On August 28, 2014, the naïve, young and pretty lady was ordered to stand naked in front of a camera by one of the most notorious Nigerian sex slave and human traffickers in Dubai, Esther Nicole Otubo. The video recordings of this innocent girl were to blackmail her and other girls under her “PROSTITUTION BUSINESS EMPIRE” in case they refused to pay their daily dividends to her. Precious hopelessly agreed to Otubo’s terms of engagement, as captured in the video transcript:

Esther Nicole: What’s your name?

Precious: Precious.

Esther Nicole: Precious, which part of Nigeria are you from?

Precious: Edo State

Esther Nicole: Okay. Where are you right now?

Precious: Dubai.

Esther Nicole: Dubai? What did you come to do here?

Precious: Prostitution.

Esther Nicole: Prostitution. Were you forced to come here?

Precious: No.

Esther Nicole: You agreed on your own to come here. Did you go for swearing (sic)?

Precious: Yes.

Esther Nicole: Who and you (sic) went for the swearing?

Precious: Me and my parents

Precious: August 28, 2014.

This week, the video exploded on social media and exposed the sex slavery and prostitution of Nigerian women by their fellow citizens in Dubai. The Dubai Madams have, within the past five years, slowly grown into a profitable money-making adventure for these human traffickers. The business, according to sources in Dubai, is mega profitable, netting an average of $30,000 (about N6m) monthly for the Madams that camp these girls in sex units or three-star hotels in the United Arab Emirates, the centre of glitz and glamour where commercial sex by these Nigerian women seems to be in high demand.


Dubai has all the aura of a sin city. It’s beautiful, sitting 52 feet above the sea level, the economic and powerhouse gate pass to Asia and the Middle East. It is a liberal rich city that accommodates and tolerates all creatures, great and small. Though its socio economy is controlled by rich merchant Arabs and middle easterners, Nigerian women have found a spot to syndicate their hospitality and human services in commercial sex, pimping vulnerable young girls they lure from their various Nigerian towns and villages to the Emirates’ mega city.

Emeka Ugwuonye, an attorney, is representing Precious. Ugwuonye, through his advocacy group, Due Process Advocates, is in the lead to hunt and prosecute these Nigerian ‘Dubai Madams’ who are involved in the sex slavery and human trafficking of young naïve Nigerian women desperately but innocently seeking to better their lives.

Ugwuonye and his advocacy group have, through their investigations, successfully identified some of these ‘Madams’ and their illicit and illegal business of importing Nigerian young girls to Dubai, with a promise of making lucrative money in the city, but only to get there and be subjected to commercial sex slavery and garnish their wages.

He told me, “Jebose, I have videos of two different girls recorded under the most debasing conditions, naked and scared. What Nicole does is to videotape these girls in the nude and blackmail them into prostitution in Dubai. This woman is like none that you have come across before. She is a ‘Madam’ and a human trafficker. She takes desperate young Nigerian girls on a sex slave mission to Dubai or other Middle Eastern countries for prostitution. Before they leave Nigeria, she would first make the girls and their parents swear an oath at a local shrine in the belief that such would place a curse of sudden death on those girls were they to disobey her. The total amount she plans to get from each girl is about $30,000.


“The girl is to become a prostitute, make money from her ‘clients’ and keep giving such money to the woman until she agrees she has received $30,000 from the girl. This Madam uses blackmail as an additional means of enforcing her plan. She would take a video recording of each girl, who would have been made to stand stark naked. She would tell each girl that if she failed to pay her $30,000 when she gets to Dubai or elsewhere, she would release the video tape on Facebook and would delete it when she eventually gets paid.

“These girls apparently agree to this. I use the word “apparently” on purpose to raise questions about the voluntariness of these girls’ participation in this. Ostensibly, some of these girls have not paid the Madam all the money she demanded of them. That must have been what led Madam to release that video on Facebook. I have seen videos of three girls in such humiliation. People forwarded them to me in order for me to use DPA to help track down the woman that is behind all this.

“There are many, many Nigerian girls suffering under her control. These girls lack the ability to cry out. They are in slavery and bondage. We must set them free and we must have the ‘Madam’ arrested.”

Ugwuonye also identified a second ‘Madam’ in this Dubai commercial sex deal gone bad.

He added, “Madam Ann, which is the only name we have of her, has five girls under her control. Madam Ann lodges her girls in a three-star hotel while she would stay at home and offer them men in exchange for cash. After each girl must have slept with four or five men, Madam Ann would come and collect the money they would have made from them.

“The hotels cannot be busted by the Dubai Police. These Madams change hotels like every two days to remain undetected. Any girl that stays in the hotel for more than four days would be expected to leave because of the slow sex seekers’ traffic. The hotel’s members of staff may not know what is going on. So if there are steady traffic of clients in the hotel and to a particular room, after two days, the hotel would notice and ask the girls to leave. The only things they take to the hotels are sexy lingerie to entice customers.”

Earlier in the week, the police had reportedly apprehended the ‘Madams’ who had been on the run since the video went viral on social media.
