Health / Why Shaving Your Pubic Hair Is Not A Good Idea by ABACITYBLOG: 2:13pm On Jan 24, 2017
Most women, even men, prefer that the area down there is clean without any hair, so shaving pubic or vaginal hair has become a common practice today. However, there is a reason why you have pubic hair. So, probably it is not a great idea to shave it off for purely aesthetic reasons.

Although there are no documented studies which state whether shaving pubic hair is good or not, however, this practice has been there for ages and it is believed that a clean vagina is one of the many factors that attract the partner and appeals to the man.

But there is a downside to it. The sweat glands present in the pubic region secrete pheromones which stimulates your’s and your partner’s sexual desires. The hair present in this region primarily locks-in the odour and that is why every woman has a unique odour that attracts her man. Lack of hair in the region would mean less pleasure as it fails to stimulate your sense of smell. And, stimulating your five senses during sex to maximise pleasure.

Also, less pubic hair can make you susceptible to various kinds of bacterial, viral or fungal infections. In fact, it acts as a barrier to some sexually transmitted infections like genital herpes and warts. When pubic hair is shaved, it leaves behind microscopic open wounds over the hair follicle which may lead to bacterial infection, scarring due to irritation and itching

However, if you want to keep your pubic area trimmed, there is no harm in it; you can do a little shaving by yourself, but remember, it is very sexy if you ask your partner to do it for you. If you are the bold type, you can do so at a hygienic parlour that offers bikini line, if this is available where you are. This helps you to keep the area clean without going for complete shaving.

It is also very important for you to keep your vagina clean with water or other natural vaginal washes to keep the area clean. Avoid using scented douches and vaginal washes that can make you dry over there.

Politics / JUST IN: Orji Uzor Kalu Distance Self From Fake Congratulatory Letter by ABACITYBLOG: 9:03pm On Feb 06, 2016
Ex-governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has distance self from the alleged congratulatory letter to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

The letter which circulated the net on 4th February day after the Supreme court affirmed Ikpeazu's election, was said to be allegedly signed by Dr. Kalu to congratulate Ikpeazu in his victory.

Reacting to the said letter, Orji Kalu said:

“We wish to state categorically that the said letter being circulated on the social media is fake as Dr. Kalu’s signature and letterhead paper were cloned.

‘The fictitious letter is the handiwork of political jobbers who are envious of Kalu’s pedigree and political clout.

“It is worthy to note that ahead of the Abia North senatorial rerun election, an unpopular candidate in one of the political parties has been adopting cheap blackmail as a way of discrediting his opponents.

“As a patriotic Nigerian, our principal will not lose focus over the antics of the perpetrators of this wicked act.

“While calling on the public to disregard the misleading letter, we urge politicians to desist from malicious and uncivilized acts that are capable of causing unnecessary animosity.

“We urge the people of Abia North to remain steadfast as they come out en masse to vote for Dr. Kalu of the Progressive Peoples’ Alliance (PPA) on March 5, 2016”.

Politics / Abia Election: "Ikpeazu Will Laugh At Last" - Says Sen. T. A. Orji by ABACITYBLOG: 6:17am On Jan 22, 2016
The Abia State governorship election between Dr. Alex Otti of APGA and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu (PDP) have been playing like the seasonal movie, which no one can predict its end.

Finally, the much awaited mouth piece of Abia State PDP, The party, arrow head speaks, According to Senator Orji, "the verdict of the Court of Appeal was not a good one for the state and its people".

Speaking with reporters in Umuahia, the state capital, Orji said he has a lot of respect for the judiciary which is the last hope of any politicians’ political career, as it has always come to his rescue since he ventured into politics.

“Since I joined politics, the judiciary has always been there for me. From 2007 to 2011 as governor and even now as Senator, as it has always authenticated my mandate after any election my opponents proceed to the courts to challenge my victory.

“I don’t see any difference in this case of Ikpeazu versus Otti governorship case, as some people want to be governor at all costs and desperately too simply because they have some money. But money is not everything in politics.”

Senator Orji hopes on Supreme court. he said;

“It is a place where there are men of integrity who take their time on such matter. I am sure that Ikpeazu will be returned as the duly elected governor of Abia State,” he said.

The Senator said the judiciary is supposed to enhance democracy for the good of the country and its people.

“However, this time around, the judiciary at the Court of Appeal has decided to turn democracy upside down,” he said.

Politics / Biafra Protest: Nigerian Military Shot Dead A 20yr Man In Aba [GRAPHIC PHOTO] by ABACITYBLOG: 12:22pm On Jan 19, 2016
ABA CITY BLOG can authoritatively report that a 20-year-old apprentice, Chidozie Okafor, was shot dead on St. Micheal’s Road, Aba, Abia, on Monday as military men moved in to check a protest by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)

An eye-witness, who identified himself simply as Okechukwu, told ABA CITY BLOG that Chidozie was returning to the shop where he was learning a trade after having his lunch at a food kiosk on St. Michael’s road by York when tragedy struck.

According to him, the military men shot at IPOB members who made bonfires on the road, obstructing traffic and telling people to close their shops.

He said that Chidozie, a native of Omuohu in Eziagu Local Government Area of Enugu state, was the only son of his parents.

The eye-witness further said that the victim came to Aba in 2015 to learn trade in electronic appliances, empty discs and cassettes and was until his death, an apprentice at a shop on St. Michael’s Road neighbourhood.

Also, NAN reports that another victim, fondly called Taata, who was hit on the belly, died while being rushed to the Abia State University Teaching Hospital after the New Era Hospital had rejected him.

Politics / Lawyers to Buhari – “you Are Not A Lawyer, You Have No Right To Detain Anyone by ABACITYBLOG: 7:44am On Jan 11, 2016
The continued detention of former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col Sambo Dasuki and leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has raised a lot of dust amidst SANs.

While expressing their regrets towards how President Muhammadu Buhari neglected the rule of law and how he detained Mazi Kanu and Sambo Dasuki despite that Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court, Abuja, has granted them bail unconditionally.

According to the Lawyers, “We advised the President to, in future, allow the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, SAN, to handle such topics on behalf of the government”.

Mahmud Magaji, SAN, stated, “going by provisions of our extant constitution, the presumption is that a person charged to court for whatever offence, is innocent until guilt is established. Unless I am told that the constitution was amended last night. That you level an accusation on someone does not make the person guilty automatically. If it is so, why then are the courts there? What we are practicing is constitutional democracy. Anyway, I did not listen to the media chat and cannot therefore, speak much on the issue”.

Chief Joe Agi, SAN, said: “I really want to believe that the President did not mean what he said. I have a feeling that what he wanted to say was that though granted bail, if there are other cases against the accused persons, they could be re-arrested, notwithstanding the pending case.

“It will be totally wrong to refuse to release someone on bail in the absence of any pending allegation. Clearly, I am so sure that what the President meant to say was not what he said or what was understood. We should also appreciate the fact that he is not a lawyer.

“If I am to advise the President, I will say he should in future, leave such issues to the Attorney General of the Federation to clarify”.

A constitutional lawyer, Mr. Festus Ogwuche, said: “The President got it wrong. No matter the number of allegations against an accused person, once the matter has been charged before a competent court, that court assumes powers to determine whether or not the person deserves bail.

“Court orders are made to be obeyed, if not, it becomes impunity. No matter the gravity of the offence, an accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Proper investigation ought to have been conducted and concluded before a person is charged. Re-arresting someone immediately after the court has granted such person bail makes mockery of our democracy which is presumably anchored on the rule of law and separation of powers”,

Meanwhile, another Lawyer backs what Pres. Buhari did, he stated that he sees nothing wrong with what he did;

Legal icon, Professor Itse Sagay, SAN, said: “The way I see it is that any bail granted an accused, is completely related to the offence which he is charged before the court. So, if after he (the accused) has been granted bail and the prosecution discovers another offence for which no bail has been granted, then the accused can be re-arrested. So, that cannot be in violation of a bail, which is in relation to an earlier stated offence.

“I do not know the full facts but what I am saying is that if this re-arrest arises out of fresh offences, which are not part of the ones for which the person had been granted bail, then there is a right to arrest. This is not a breach of the rule of law.”

Politics / Abia Election: I Still Remain Abia State Governor – Says Ikpeazu by ABACITYBLOG: 11:30am On Jan 01, 2016
Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu on Thursday said despite the ruling of the Court of Appeal, Owerri Division, nullifying his election and declaring Dr. Alex Otti as the validly elected candidate for the April 11, 2015 election that he is still the governor of Abia state.

The Court of Appeal on Thursday said Ikpeazu of the Peoples Democratic Party was not validly elected and as such nullified his election.

Reacting to the Appeal ruling, Ikpeazu, in a special broadcast on Thursday, said:

“I have just been informed that the Court of Appeal sitting at Owerri has nullified my victory as the duly-elected Governor of Abia State and ordered that one of my opponents at the election, Dr. Alex Otti should be sworn in as the winner of the election.

“As of this moment, I have not received the full briefing on the reason for the decision of the Court of Appeal but my lawyers are still at the court waiting to obtain a copy of the judgement for further studying and it is past 7pm. The next four days are public holidays and the timing of the judgement means that we are losing valuable days to study the judgement and file our Appeal.

“I wish to state at this point that preliminary reports available to me indicate that the premise upon which the decision of the Court of Appeal was arrived at is at best tenuous.

“That being said, I wish to express my utmost confidence in the ability of the Justices of the Supreme Court to correct the anomaly at the Court of Appeal and uphold my victory as had been earlier done by the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Umuahia.

“In the interim, while I have instructed my lawyers to take steps to file an immediate Appeal at the Supreme Court, I wish to assure all Abians that all is well. I remain the Governor of Abia State until the Supreme Court reaffirms my mandate which was freely given to me by the good people of Abia State during the elections.

“I call on security agencies to maintain the peace in Abia State and ensure that people go about their legitimate businesses without fear of disruption from any quarters. I also call on our supporters to remain calm in the face of provocation.

“I remain supremely confident that at the end of the day, victory shall be ours. I thank you all for listening and wish you a prosperous 2016.”

Politics / Pres. Buhari's New Year Message: "2016 Is The Year Of Change" by ABACITYBLOG: 11:21am On Jan 01, 2016
President Muhammadu Buhari has described 2016 as the year Nigerians will begin to witness the ‘change’ they voted for.

This was contained in his new year message.

“Fellow citizens,

“Welcome to the beginning of a New Year of the continuation of CHANGE in our beloved nation.

“I am aware that Nigerians have experienced a number of significant hardships over the past months. Living in the State House has not alienated me from your daily sufferings. I am aware of the lengthy queues at fuel stations and of the difficulties businesses have faced in acquiring foreign exchange. These challenges are only temporary; we are working to make things better.

“When I presented myself to you as a presidential candidate and asked you to vote for me, I wanted to be a leader who keeps his promises. I wanted to be a leader who restores the people’s hope in those elected to serve them. I wanted to be a leader who initiates positive and enduring CHANGE.

“I am still totally committed to being that kind of leader. Unforeseen circumstances and other distractions notwithstanding, I shall still do my utmost best to keep every promise I made to Nigerians during my election campaign.

“In the past seven months since our inauguration on May 29, 2015, my administration has focused on laying the right foundation for the CHANGE you voted for during our historic presidential election.

“Nigerians will in due course begin to enjoy the fruits of all our ongoing work. The effective and efficient implementation of our 2016 budget proposals will address many of the socio-economic issues that are of current concern to our people.

“One area in which Nigerians, especially those in the northeast, have already begun to experience major CHANGE is in the war on terror.

“I commend our Armed Forces for significantly curtailing the insurgency which has ravaged the northeast of Nigeria over the past few years. However, there is still a lot of work to be done in the area of security.

“Our Armed Forces will maintain, consolidate and build on their successes in the war against Boko Haram and violent extremism.

“This government will not consider the matter concluded until the terrorists have been completely routed and normalcy restored to all parts of the country that have been adversely affected by the Boko Haram insurgency.

“Our crackdown on corruption will continue to be vigorously undertaken. I urge the courts to support our efforts and help in the recovery of stolen funds by speedily concluding trials and showing that impunity no longer has a place in our country.

Politics / 2015 Best Africa’s Presidential Quotes + Buhari’s Inauguration Speech by ABACITYBLOG: 3:01am On Dec 28, 2015
2015 online news has been so much fun, hot and hectic, though some quotes here are culled from the President in different countries in Africa, including the quote made by president Mohammadu Buhari of Nigeria, on the day of inauguration as Nigeria President.

Nigeria President; Mohammadu Buhari QUOTE:

"I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody"
"We must change our lawless habits, our attitude to public office and public trust. We must change our unruly behaviour in schools, hospitals, market places, motor parks, on the roads, in homes and offices.
"To bring about change, we must change ourselves by being law-abiding citizens"

Ghana's President, John Mahama QUOTE:

"I have seen more demonstrations and strikes in my first two years. I don't think it can get worse. It is said that when you kill a goat and you frighten it with a knife, it doesn't fear the knife because it is dead already. I have a dead-goat syndrome"

Zimbabwe's leader Robert Mugabe QUOTE:

"I've just concluded - since President Obama endorses the same-sex marriage, advocates homosexual people and enjoys an attractive countenance - thus if it becomes necessary, I shall travel to Washington DC, get down on my knee and ask his hand"

South Africa's Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini QUOTE:

"The time for vision has come. I request our South African government to help us clean our land of lice. We need to remove all itching bedbugs and lay them bare in the sun.
"We request that all foreigners should take their baggage and be sent back"

This is all nice quotes from the presidents, but what do you have to say about the President Buhari's quote + Radio Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's continued detention??

Politics / Adebanjo Blasts Obasanjo: "You Are A Killer" Your Govt Killed Bola Ige by ABACITYBLOG: 6:41pm On Dec 27, 2015
Chief Ayo Adebanjo, has heap the blame of the sudden death of, then Justice Minister and Attorney-General of the Federation, Chief Bola Ige, according to him, the gruesome death took place when the government of President Olusegun Obasanjo, who ruled between 1999 and 2007 was in power.

Chief Ayo lamented this in his recent interview with Sunday Telegraph in Lagos Saturday, Adebanjo reminisced on the December 24, 2003 murder, he said:

“The Federal Government of that period murdered Chief Bola Ige, and incidentally, instead of confessing, they passed the buck, accusing Ige’s political associates of the murder.” He wondered how “the Number one Chief Law Officer of the Federation at that time could be killed in his house in such a ridiculous manner, when all the six security aides attached to him vacated their duty posts at the same time and investigation into the murder was bungled.”

Speaking further he said:

“These were sad incidents in our political history for such persons to have been killed in such questionable circumstances. To worsen matters, in the case Chief Bola Ige, they even accused Chief Abraham Adesanya and me as his possible killers, instead of focusing on thorough investigation into the matter,” he said.

Politics / REVEALED: How Gej's Aides Approached Us With $3m For Votes – CIO by ABACITYBLOG: 6:11pm On Dec 27, 2015
The Conference of Islamic Organisations (CIO) has alleged that some aides of former President Goodluck Jonathan approached the body with $3 million so as to canvass for their votes during the presidential election.

According to Leadership, Coordinator of CIO, Imam Abdullahi Shuaib, made this claim during the 22nd National Islamic Training Programme (NITP), holding at Odosengolu, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

He said they rejected the government’s offer tagged: “religious fund”, meant to secure support of Muslims in Nigeria for the ex-president and his party-PDP, during the general elections early this year.

“It is not a secret, they came, offering us over three million dollars, we said no….It came through their proxies to us and we said no. And today we have been vindicated and it is not even part of our own culture to take bribe. We prefer to go hungry than to collect a bribe from somebody, that is unlawful.” He said that some officials of the Jonathan-led administration (whose identities were not disclosed) approached the CIO with money but it rejected “because we know very well that it was a bait; it was a poison and you cannot eat and dine with the devil and think the devil will not come after you.”he said

Politics / IPOB Is Not Boko Haram, Release Nnamdi Kanu Now – Owie Tells Buhari by ABACITYBLOG: 5:53pm On Dec 27, 2015
A former Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Rowland Owie, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to order the release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

According to him, this would reduce tension in the country.

A statement he released at the weekend appealed to Buhari not to heed the voice of those telling him that IPOB is a militant group.

He said: “I wish to remind President Muhammadu Buhari that every elected leader in Nigeria becomes a prisoner of palace jesters around him and become isolated from realities outside Aso Rock.

“President Buhari should open the prison door now and come out and face the reality.

“I urge President Buhari to release Kanu, the leader of the IPOB, now and dialogue with them.

“The President should not listen to palace jesters who are telling him that they are militants like Boko Haram. They are not.

I love the game of football, and today, as I was watching a game, it occurred to me that even the most talented footballer in the world can not go anywhere if he will not work with others.

Talent may win some games, but only teamwork wins the Championship. Jesus Christ our Lord, was born to bring people together and no matter the temptation to pursue individual or group interests over the collective, let us not forget that you and I belong to Team Nigeria and we must never allow individual or group aspirations distract us from the Championship ambition we have as a nation to be a beacon of hope in Africa and a pillar of the International Community..........

Politics / Biafra: Massive Protest In Aba For Solidarity To Nnamdi Kanu; Happening Now!!! by ABACITYBLOG: 12:17am On Dec 26, 2015
Today, 25th of December 2015, supposed to be the day of joy and merriment, but the continued detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu have caused a lot of chaos across the Eastern part of Nigeria.
