nairalanda1:

Well, at the end of the day, no matter how many funny stories you tell about me (I no know any politican, the one I even know retired centuries ago, and is not in active politics for over 10 years self and was in PDP anyway)....things cost money, even petrol, and if you pretend it is cheap, wahala go result.

See Venezuela wey sell fuel for N40, today their once powerful refinery has gone from refining 900000bpd to refining less than 100000bpd.

Even NIgeria, subsidy dey since 1973, at the end we went from 400000 bpd in the 80's to 92000 in 2012, to 6500 in 2019.

And you think subsidy works still.

Anyway, cry, weep, abuse, get angry, and anyway...your beloved TInubu is still paying a subsidy self, so what are you angry about.....but so long as that subsidy remains, wahala dey.

Good evening, son.

The issue is devaluation. If Naira wasn't devalued there wouldn't be any subsidy. Tinubu made mistake in floating Naira after removal of subsidy which proves his evonomic team are not smart. You first of all float the currency and after it has achieved stable exchange rate then you can remove subsidy.

Business / Re: Why Are Bank Accounts Called 'aza' In Nigeria? by Abagworo(m): 10:06pm On Feb 14
HNICEARTH:

You heard it first in benin, does not mean it originated from Benin. It's not a benin word, it's an igbo word.

The problem with this you people's Igbo and Benin arguments is that Igbo and Benin shared words in the past especially the ones that developed in later half of last millenium. Can't you see that Ego and Igho are basically the same thing so Aza Ego and Aza Igho should also mean same thing. It's like arguing if TV or COVID is English, French or Italian.

Most likely herdsmen cause that's their stronghold. All those Ihube, Uturi, Lokpanta, Umuchieze axis are controlled by herdsmen. Alex Otti has demolished the makeshift shanties at the cattle market but cannot sack those in the bush lest it would be politicized and made to look like he's fighting the innocent Fulani herders.

Some less intelligent folks will conclude Emefiele is guilty for the drop in foreign reserves despite the fact that Nigeria absorbed the COVID-19 downturn "miraculously". The economic impact of COVID-19 was much on Nigeria and it took the ingenuity of our then evonomic team not to have led Nigeria to its present shambolic state.
Crime / Re: Gunmen Kill Police Officer, Free Seven Inmates In Okigwe Prison by Abagworo(m): 10:53am On Feb 13
The bad thing about freeing prisoners is that death row inmates are easily recruited into suicide soldiers since they have nothing to live for. Most of the militancy and crime that escalates once there's a prison break are carried out by these people.

I get my photos from online and nobody pays me to post them. I've been a millionaire in Dollars since my 20s and I am now in my 40s so I do not need and have never needed anybody's money to air my views. My views are based on my own knowledge of events and not influenced by sentiments or monetary inducement so if I discover more facts and change my views on any issue it remains me.

Since Rochas left,Owerri has become a ghetto filled with dilapidated infrastructure and filthy environment.
Nothing is going on there, insecurity has driven alot of potential investors, night life is dead ,poor sanitary condition and infrastructure has crushed the state emotionally and psychologically.

Owerri cannot be a ghetto. The shine was taken from Owerri the day Ihedioha not Uzodinma started fighting businesses and real estates approved by Okorocha like Empire Filling Station, Market Square and Diaspora Estate thereby sending a wrong signal that land approved by a Governor for business interests could be cancelled by the next. It didn't however stop the rapid development of Owerri but only slowed it down. The insecurity in some parts of the State (not Owerri) affected the hospitality industry but it is gradually returning . Owerri remains one of the cleanest and most beautiful cities in Nigeria and Uzodinma is trying except that he is still playing some unnecessary politics. His concentration has been on major roads and some hitherto unpassable ones like the Toronto road in Uratta, MCC Road and parts of Nekede road. I don't like the way he handled the insecurity initially which created a hostility but he has been trying his best to reverse the situation. That's a very big challenge that has been affecting Orlu zone which is the largest in the State with 12 LGAs.

YOU ARE NOT WISE, YOU BLAME TINUBU 8 MONTHS REGIME AND EXONORATE BUHARI OF 8 YEARS AND JONATHAN OF POTEHTIL 8 YEARS. Sentiment has blinded your sense of judgement. Tinubu will receive his blame or praise after given same year of trial. Only a fool with economic sense will blame Tinubu for our current situation. If you think Tinubu has fault in the current situation of Nigeria, then, you are just simply a fool.

This 8 months has proven worse than the 16 combined years of Buhari and Jonathan. Check it with every index

I'm still shocked some people actually believe Emefiele stole personally . Truth is that they are looking for every possible loophole to indict and punish him because of the cashless policy which he introduced for the good of Nigeria which the Powers that be felt was against their political interest.

This is just the honest truth. Whatever we are facing now isn't Tinubu's fault, he met a disaster on ground and there's no one that would have done an overnight miracle but we need him to do better because Nigerians are starving, we want result. Please put the country in your daily prayers, it's not as easy as you all are thinking.

We forget things easily in this country. Yes, life of average Nigerians was better during Jonathan in terms of porverty, but Janthan remain out biggest mistake. For your information, Janathan regime made more money than any government we ever had in the past because that was when there is oil boom in the international market, in fact Buhari dint not made up to half of what Jonathan made, that same stupid government made all the money and wasted the money without saving a penny, he also when to our external reserve and squandered the $67billion obj saved, remaining just $22billion. As if that is still not enough, he still borrowed more debt during same time and even shared the borrowed money for politician through Dasuki gate and co. The only president defending national thieves like Dazini saying the alleged money is too big for a young woman like Diazini to steal, Stella Odua of aviation, Its as if Jonathan came to legalize corruption, pension money that disappeared, SURE-P scam, Cassava bread scam project, Jamb never remitted a penny under Jonathan, whereas they remitted billions of naira within a year under Buhari. On top of all that, Shekarau is doing live broadcast of bombing and killing innocent lives under Jonathan and the amebicide president still don't believe that bokoharam is a real threat to security that will degenerate to other insecurity problems. Jonathan is the Biggest Nigerians mistake and not Buhari, Buhari made a lot of stupid mistakes too but Jonathat is a total disaster.

Do you actually believe corruption kills economy? What corruption does is enriching the wrong people and it happens everywhere not just Nigeria but the issue is making your country an attractive place to invest corruption money instead of a place people are taking money away from like Nigeria. Neither Jonathan nor Buhari is the reason for present economic crisis but failure of Tinubu to build confidence among Nigerians thereby leading to what I call economic panic.

Abagworo why were you supporting Buhar for 8 years ? Why are you supporting APC. Is it because of stipends ? Why did you campaign for Tinubu ?

Do you now agree that both Buhari and Tinubu with APC are are dangerous to the progress and development of Nigeria ?

I had excuses for Buhari but I don't have for Tinubu. Buhari Government faced 3 global economic crisis including the COVID-19 lockdown but prsently there is no excuse and moreover no sane person supported the careless floating of Naira. Everyone supported subsidy removal but with the devaluation of Naira we're back to heavy payment of subsidy albeit secretly.

Why not, this is US not Naija. Tracking by night is much quicker and not the dangerous life threatening activity it can be in Nigeria.

I had a friend in UK who preferred to travel on a Friday night to see his mum for the weekend rather than in the evening after work. He would leave at around 9pm rather than 5pm or so to get stuck in traffic for 2 or 3 hours.

I think his journey was London to Manchester though not sure.

Night travel was the most preferred in Nigeria until 2007 when all these insecurity started.

All this land people should just keep quiet please. I bought 600 square meters at Ibeju lekki 2 years ago from these real estate investment companies. First the land is really not up to the acclaimed full plot. Secondly, the land hardly appreciated.

With targeted demolition of Igbo properties land will no longer appreciate much in Lagos since it is their high demand that was pushing the prices up.

Jejely go use that money buy Dollars lock up somewhere safe and keep on with whatever gave you that #10m until at most this same time next year to know where Nigeria is headed, then you can come back here with this question.

Na so the politicians wey dey kill Nigeria take dey save their money.

Once dem need money to sort something, na to change one wrap Naira go boku eveeywhere to settle their minions and Continue to enslave them

Shockingly this your seemingly satcastic contribution would have yielded him the most today. With 1400 per Dollar today his money would have tripled with additional money to buy land . 15m then was roughly 40,000 Dollars but today it is close to 60m when converted.
Politics / Re: Hunger Protests: Why Tinubu Can’t Govern Like Buhari By Farooq A. Kperogi by Abagworo(m): 3:08pm On Feb 10
Kukutenla:
The north are hypocrites. And that is why Nigeria is not a country. To claim Buhari got away with murder because of cult followership is to deodorise the pungent tribal and religious fundamentalism that's at the base of his followership. Most of Buhari's followers in the CPC they formed are clueless, dumb and sectional. Just check out their performance as ministers and heads of agencies.
The only appeal they had in the north was based on tribal and religious ideology and not any superior group interest.

It is also disheartening that after the maladministration CBN went through under Buhari and Emefiele is lackey, Tinubu couldn't get a better fit for the job of repositioning such a critical institution. What's worse is his elevation of CBN above NNPCL which has fared better previously in terms of audit and compliance.
However, it is obvious Cardoso is not running a one man show. He's under the tutelage of Edun. So it's more like the voice of Cardoso but the hands of Edun. And this is not to say I agree with Kperoogi's assessment of him

Buhari didn't actually push Nigeria to the wall as Tinubu has done so far. He met Petrol above official price of 87 Naira and unofficial price of 250 and left it at official price of 185 and unofficial price of average 200 Naira as at May last year. Tinubu in 1 week increased it officially from 185 to 400 and in 6 months increased it to 591 and unofficial average 700 Naira. Buhari managed Nigeria better than Tinubu in everything.

Politics / Re: Nine Months After Subsidy Removal, Where Are The Palliatives As Promised? by Abagworo(m): 10:02am On Feb 10
There's no removal of subsidy. What was done is just devaluation of Naira to balance the excessive cash liquidity. 185 Naira for petrol when Naira was 400 to Dollar is same with 650 Naira for petrol when Naira is 1,450 to Dollar. Tinubu disagreed with Emefiele's method of moping up cash as a solution.
