successmatters: From what I can see, the APC will lose this presidential election.
On Peter Obi mandate does the whole Nigerian youths hope rest. He is the only candidate who has a good idea of how to solve most problems in this country, taking his background as a guide. He is the only person among the lot who was self employed and became a billionaire before the return to democracy. We need someone who can replicate his personal successes with the youths, and the whole country at large.
Vote Peter Obi if you want to see the life of the average Nigerian people change for the better. Old news this one no try at all, very bad news |

Only one of these three has a VERIFIABLE source of income that made him a billionaire even before he joined politics.
We need leaders that can boldly say “Go and Verify”. Yo don't know what you are talking about you think Tinubu come from poor family go and read about that family and Tinubu himself and many multinational company he worked for before politics |

PericomaNwankwo: Thank you!! All this small minded people on Nairaland don't even understand how elections work. Mark my word, the north will only vote for a northerner. It has always been like that. For a southern man to win, he needs to utilize the south's vote. Obj and GEJ were able to win by fortifying southern votes.
Obj was able to maintain control by fortifying the south and enabling them to rig more than the North. All this talks of Igbos don't have number barely started recently, during objs time, he used huge votes from Igbo land /SS to stay ahead of the north.
Even if Tinubu finally emerges, he can never win without fortifying southern votes. And if he wants a second term, he must unite the south to beat the northern riggings.
Go back to old results and see how it all played out. Thank God you know all this and never know what is going to happen. |

Alexis11: Igbos don't know how to play politics at all. I wonder how all their politicians that have stepped down for Lawan will be feeling now.
Their only strategies since 1960s have always been how to scheme Yorubas out of the arrangement and later come around to call Yorubas their "southern brothers" when their miscalculations backfire against them and favour the SW instead. It has always been hate, hate and more hate.
Igbos are ready for any political subjugation and mistreatment from the North so far it doesn't not represent the SW interest. It is really shameful. You are on point ,I'm staying with them and I don't know why they are like that. |

As things are now, he stands at the better chance of clinching the ticket. All the odds might be against Tinubu. Atiku will beat Tinubu hads down. Just watch out, unless Osibanjo gets the ticket. I'm of this opinion too and I'm one person that like Tinubu so much. The only strong hold that can contest Atiku from APC as it stands now is if they have hidden agenda like unveiling Jonathan... else the contest will be between Atiku and Peter Obi of Labour Party . PaChukwudi44: GEJ only won in 2011 because the three southern regions agreed to work together for the first time in Nigeria's history.
Osibanjo or Tinubu if at all they pick up the APC ticket will have to make do with the SW region alone Osinbajo as candidate will win S,west and some state in S, south south like Edo, Delta and even Bayelsa. |

mazizitonene: But this thing is clear as day. For equity and justice, give it to the SE. I wonder why we clamour for justice, but when it's clear on what's just and fair, we start looking for excuses and loopholes.
Ordinarily, if nigeria was working, no one would be interested in who becomes the president, but since y'all have left power solely to the center and enjoyment solely in Abuja, you're now afraid to give it to the SE.
And one old man is there saying it's the turn of the yorubas, someone that claims he has a conscience, also saying that Buhari and APC should repay him with Presidency. You know you can't do this job, the man you sold to us in 2015, whom you're his party leader could not. Yet you're hell bent on going there, to do what exactly. Just to be known as President. So Nigeria is a "chop I chop" reward system. When the youth clamoured for endsarz protest, tinubu, osibanjo and co where implicated and complicit in certain events around that period. Now their supporters are behaving like they have amnesia, suffering and smiling.
Let me just remind us, when you go to buy food stuffs at exorbitant prices, the market seller doesn't ask where you're from. When security men, robbers attack you, they don't consider where you're from. When insecurity or kidnappers meets you or your loved ones, they don't first ask you where you're from. Hunger, insecurity doesn't know tribe.
Let's stop this tribal sentiments, and reason for the general good 2023. In the spirit of fairness and justice, and a working system for all........what goes around comes around We have said it many times that, yes it's the turn of south east but you have to work toward it s, east don't have formidable politicians inApc and the region is not that strong base of Apc and again you can't tell people like Tinubu and Osinbajo who have worked for Apc right from the beginning to step down for anybody. |

Penguin2: I think Atiku is really not destined to rule Nigeria.
Because with the entire northern governors and critical northern stakeholders in APC, agreeing to zone the presidency to the south, they are going to campaign with that to their people and influence their votes to a great extent.
Now, if at the end, Osinbajo gets the ticket, like it’s looking like, then that’s the entire Southwest votes and considerable votes from other southern regions too since Osinbajo is an inspiring candidate.
PDP swam against the tide.
And what seemed to be a strategic masterstroke about a week ago, now looks like a grave mistake.
Take it from me that Atiku will not be president especially if Osinbajo gets the ticket. Very very on point, spot on. |

Electrochemistry: If Osibanjo emerges as APC flag bearer, Peter Obi as LP flag bearer and Atiku as PDP flag bearer.
Then the tussle assumes a WAZOBIA dimension where Atiku wins majority of the North as the North will like to retain power irrespective of party affiliation.
Peter Obi will win most of the South South and South East and the support of smart and sophisticated Nigerians from other regions.
Osibanjo will get most of his votes from the South West. His endorsement by Buhari will not earn him votes from the North since northerners will be rooting for Atiku.
Osibanjo endorsement by Buhari is a trick to weaken the South thereby retaining power in the North through Atiku.
If the SW, SS, or SE is fooled into being a running mate to Atiku, It's game over. Atiku wins Most if you on this forum don't even know how to permutate anything election in Nigeria. I don't want to east my time until after the primary, but what I know is that if Osinbajo emerge is game over for PDP this Buhari to me is a wise man when it come to this game. |

tollyboy5: My candidate is pyo . The vote from Southwest will be massive for pyo because southwest has one of the highest collected voters card. Middle Belt state like kwara, kogi and Niger state will like vote inline with southwest. Buhari endorsement will go a long way in the north most especially his home town Katsina and also Kaduna. A nothern VP will be choosed and if it is El rufai case closed. Kwakwanso and atiku can devide the rest vote while SE and SS vote obi and Atiku What if I tell you that Osinbajo if presented by Apc win win in south south I'm in PH and I know what I'm saying this people are different from South East people that hate everybody. |

Xbobtage: Realistically speaking, neither Tinubu nor Osibanjo can defeat atiku in the presidential election. The reason being that Peter Obi is still running the race in a third party. Peter Obi will siphon most of the votes in the SE/SS annnnnd, alot of progressive yorubas will also vote for him, when you consider that osibanjo has been part of this government that has decimated nigeria. If we are projecting that Atiku will win atleast 65 percent of the votes in the north, then the only southern candidate who can win him must be one who can drain igbo votes. Yes igbos usually vote less in election times, but the igbo vote is looking like what will be the swing vote this election if the apc picks a yoruba candidate.
All Atiku has to do now pick another igboic VP and its game over, which ever way you look at it.
An alternative for APC might be that they pick Amaechi, who then picks a very strong northerner like El rufai or Prof from Bornu. Amaechi might be able to drain igbo votes from Obi, with a huge support from the SS and maybe 15% support from SW.
Point here is, now that Atiku is the PDP flag bearer, and obi is still running, If APC wants to win the presidency they will be making a risky move picking a Yoruba candidate. No candidate can defeat anybody that have the support of Tinubu and Buhari unless Mr Tinubu work against the party. |

But they feign ignorance of the fact that if not that a consensus had been reached for a Yoruba to succeed Northern Abdulsalami Abubakar, there was no how Obasanjo fresh from prison would have defeated Ekwueme who was the architect of PDP.
Nigeria must be getting ready for another Biafra exit from Nigeria. But your Ekweme never agreed, that's why he contested against OBJ now So no time ibo and Yoruba ever agree politically except for Jonathan in 2011. |
