But at Independence in 1960, Nigeria's Literacy Race was 7%.

After 63 years of BRITISH RULE.

Compared to 70% today, after just 60 years of independence, and even with a quadrupled population.

Why do you think your grandparents/great-grandparents were village illiterates and peasants?

You think there was no money to educate them?

Do you know that our FIRST POWER PLANT was Kainji Dam, commissioned in 1964 by the Balewa administration?

Prior to that, the British used imported industrial GENERATORS to light up the GRAs nationwide and Ikoyi where their officers and local staff lived.

The rest of Nigeria was in darkness, outside the colonialists' immediate environment.

There wasn't even a NATIONAL GRID until after independence.

Look around you today. NAME ONE INFRASTRUCTURE YOU SEE that was built by the British.

Any roads? Expressways? Any flyovers, train stations, hospitals? Industries?

NOTHING.

EVERYTHING you see around you was built by post-independence Nigerian government and citizens.

Prior to independence, a FOOTPATH led to your village. NOT A ROAD.

Cars would park at the nearest town with an actual road and then WALK to your village, often for DAYS.

Today you see a wide motorable road that leads to even remote hamlets.

When the road is untarred you will abuse our ''useless govt'', without whom you wouldn't even have a road at all!

In fact before independence, cars were only for the super rich.

The middle class rode BICYCLES.

Everyone else walked. Often barefoot and malnourished.

Until you SLAVES get it into your THICK heads that COLONISATION is a system of oppression in which the COLONISER invades you to LOOT YOUR RESOURCES in order to enrich HIS OWN NATION, you will continue posting DUMB posts like this that just make you look so damn IGNORANT AND STUPID.

The Europeans in South Africa saw it as ''their'' country, and settled there en masse, and therefore did not LOOT THE RESOURCES AND SIPHON EXPORT EARNINGS TO EUROPE as was the case in Nigeria and other black African colonies, which were COMPREHENSIVELY LOOTED. AND LEFT UNDERDEVELOPED.

In fact by 1940 South Africa was already developed. They had built their first power plants in the 1880s. First universities in the 1880s. At independence in 1960 Nigeria had NOT ONE full fledged university.

Today we have over 300, courtesy of self-rule.

So quit being stupid, NAIVE and thinking, ''OH, IT IS WHITE PEOPLE, SO IF THEY RULE US, WE WILL BE LIKE AMERICA AND GERMANY''.

Such thinking is based on extreme, indeed alarming, geopolitical naivety.
