Abbycite: Keeps the call coming............we are @ ur service |
ntyce: Mr Abbycite, abeg don't bring unsubstantiated claims. civil servants salaries are being paid as at and when due. He pays salaries on the 29th +or -2 days.Bro........when did he start to dey pay the said salaries.......... Let me guess, after the Tsunami in Ekiti bah! I don't want to start comparison, but I still rate OGD first term in office higher..... and if u care to dispute this, let's bring their score sheet out. BTW, its even gullible on Nigerians to rate government officials by infrastructures they built..... Do they use their money finance the projects or the state fund. |
JingoOAU: I guess you are entitled to your opinion. Are u for real.........we call the man Gov Amosun of Abeokuta..........go outside the state capital, the only tangible infrastructure is the fly overs in Ijebu Ode and Sagamu........ The man used the last three years to provide excuses for the citizens of the state..... Wages and Salaries (not regular), Students' Bursary (Not available), School Fees (Propaganda galour), Health Sector (not interested) Sport (not interested) Agriculture (not interested) Road and Bridges (apart from Abeokuta axis, others eyesore) As I dey type this, I just drive through one of the road (Ilisan-Ago Iwoye).....so maybe there is another Ogun State in Nigeria. But the one I stay and live in, the man has a minimal impact (Abeokuta excluded) |

jargo89: if not? What will the consequences be?d implication will be merging d Jambites with d present 100level students which simply mean a drastic reduction in number of students to be admitted..... |
jargo89: if not? What will the consequences be? |
jargo89: how much will that affect DE applicantsThe same chance....just pray 4 d issue to be resolve quickly.....if not! |
jargo89: and when will the decision of merging or not be announced. Is it that OOU is not time conscious or they don't care? That would depend on how quickly d impasse between d SUG and state govt are solved....d truth is, merging is inevitable, is either now or next session |
shevie002: Wassup peepz I didn't pick oou in my jamb nd I did dier pst ume I had 186 in jamb and 38 in pst ume to study geology as first choice or industrial chemistry,,,,,wat re my chances pls nid reply.....85% of those that wrote OOU PUTME got d chance of being admitted but not necessarily their choice of course. However, if 2014/15 set are to be merge with the present 100level, then d chance will have to reduced to like 50% due to the population surge it would cause.... |
Am so proud of my country.............NIGERIA! Even if it is a one time thing.....we did it against all odds..... |
Of all d technologies in d world, we can't still find d missing MH17 plane..... |
Another Cossy in d making! |
Cultism......imagine our schools' environments without this scourge.... |
Lest we forget......... * During the era of OGD, he increased the average school fees to around 70k-100k. Pple cried foul at the time, students protest as usual. Nothing was done * He (Amosun) being an aspirant at the time, saw this loophole and campaigned to slash the school fees. At a point, he said "if I was given the mandate of running the state, the highest any students would pay is N50,000. * We thought, "here is the messiah" let's vote for this man. * We vote, he won, he was sworn in...... * First few months......(nothing was happening) We asked, "what of your promise?" Our Governor said, "I av set up a committee to look into it, I will get back to you". * After sometime, he announced a 10% reduction in the fees..... we knew this was not what we expected from him but what can we do? We thought to ourselves "let see what he will do".... * However, every session, there is a gradual increment in the school fees........ which is now in average of N120k - 200k. (Judged the man that said the highest anybody would pay as school fees in his state would be N50,000) * Every session, we protest the increment of school fees.....he would threatened, harrassed (just like he was doing now) * Fast forward to 2014..... after the disaster of Ekiti state election, all APC states realized that people have been tolerating them all this while. They decided to act. First, Governor Fashola of Lagos State that has nothing to loose (since he is already running out his second term in office) decided to cut the school fees. Our Governor (Amosun) decided now is the time to act..... He cut the fees by as much as 40% across the states tertiary institutions. (Meanwhile, OOU students have been clamouring for this reduction since 2011) * Here is the thing, the students have been paying this exorbitant fees since 2011, it won't kill us to pay for another year. But it would be injustice to slash school fees of the states institutions (taking effect from 2014/2015) when every other institutions are in 2014/2015 session except OOU which are just starting their 2013/2014 session.... U are telling us to wait for another year before benefiting from the largesse.... * And, we strongly believe the Governor lack integrity, nothing would stop him from increasing the fees again after the 2015 election. He once promised and reneged on his promise (when he still av a second term to run), nothing would stop him from reneging on his promise again (especially when he has nothing to lose after winning the election in 2015). |
No problem.....we don hear u.....Just remember u will come to Ago Iwoye to campaign very soon. FYI, 2013/2014 session in OOU just started a month ago.....and 90% are yet to pay the controversial school fees. But no problem, they will pay....at least they have being paying the fees for 3 years now. It won't kill them to pay just for a year. Let's see how 2015 will go..... What Amosu doesn't realize is........ He was never meant to be the governor. He only rode on the unpopularity of OGD's mismanagement at the twilight of his career. He promised d opposite of all OGD actions in order to get him elected. People votes against OGD/PDP not necessarily for him..... If it would take a governor that was suppose to spend 4 years in office, 3 years of consultation before effecting the changes people crave for, I wonder why we bother to vote in the first place. But no problem......we shall see very soon |
Gbadegesin19: NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS (NANUS).If only you guys can back up your (bark) with (bite). I am tired of seeing all this empty threat..... back up your noise with some actions or just keep quiet. |
thegreatman4ww: Thank God I am back...Amosun lack integrity that I cant defend. Promisory note because of 2015 election, that I cant agreed with u because all other school will have been enjoying it before the election except OOU. I watched STV last week where your SUG PRO and one other member (maybe the Sec) were interviewed, the Fee was increased by previous govt, yes; the current govt promised 50% reduction but implement 10% yes; after roughly three years of discussions and negotiations the govt reduced further by 61% (as at now the govt has reduced your fees by 71%, abbah) and telling you that the latest reduction starts next session problem started. But I think there are many mgt and political student among you who understand the reality how budget works and the rudiment of University mgt.Let me lay it for u clearly; * Previous governor increased d school fees to an average of 70-100k and pple despise him for it. * He (Amosun) campaigned on dis promising to revert it by as much as 50 percent. * He was sworn in 2011 and he symbolically cut 10 percent out of d school fees. * But since then, school fees has astronomically risen to an average of 120 - 170k. (Just after 3 years). * 3 years down d lane, another campaign is at d horizon, he suddenly realize that students are paying too much.... And he promised to cut 40 percent from d fees which by calculation, would take effect after d election. * Now, there is dis saying 'fool me once shame on me, fool twice shame on u'. All they asked for, is not to make them look like a fool. Somebody that can break a promise can break thousands of promises. * There was never a time, they resort to violence. And I think that was d reason d SUG leader in their wisdom prefer the last protest to be at d govt house rather than d school premise. * Now d beauty of democracy is d ability to express urself freely. Nigerian politics is getting to a stage where d politicians must think carefully b4 opening their mouth to promise d masses because we will hold them to their last word. * He (Amosun) was castigating OGD for increasing d school fees without getting d facts behind it. And he used this as a horse to d govt house, dis is now his turn to feel d pulse of governing and he must not faulter. |
thegreatman4ww: On the first statement, I bliv that is not my intention. On the second, maybe u re very wrong because I have more of OOU std around.Don't even come back if dis is goiing to be ur line of arguments..... U don't get what d students are fighting for. They are saying Amosun lack integrity. He campaigned in d 2011 elections to cut d school fees by 50 percent if he was elected. The students thought they av seen their messiah, they voted for him enmassed, he relent on his promise saying exactly what u said above that he was sponsoring 10 institutuions as if previous administration has not done d same thing. Now, here is he with another promissory note when 2015 election is around d corner.....good timing! Now, students from other institutions may rejoice for d reduction since most of them are running 14/15 calendar already or about to. OOU just started d 13/14 calendar and telling them to wait for d commencement of d 14/15 calendar before effecting d reduction is like waiting for a dubious politician to make good of his promise after election. Let's face d fact, d governor only reduce d school fees out of political reasons and nothing would stop him from going d 2011 way once he is reelected again. The most painful part of dis whole issues is when he addressed d students in Oke Mosan, he appeared to be sympathetic to their plight, he even expressed surprise that he was not aware they are still 2013/14 session. D governor right there promised to looked into d matter and get back to them in 7 days only to send half of d policemen in d state to Ago Iwoye to intimidate and harass d students. I will implore d students to endure d further, they av being enduring for 3 years, I believe they can do it for a year. 2015 election is here, use it to send a resounding message to d politicians that 'enough is enough' |
Orikinla: Nobody is asking for scholarship for students of medicine, because we think they are better than lawyers, engineers and other professionals in Nigeria, but because WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH MEDICAL DOCTORS.You shouldn't have said that. Looking at it critically, you are the one reasoning with ur arse. If not, why should they give every body seeking Medical education a scholarship. Don't u know this would invariable make every Jack and Jill with half the brain to seek the course as an undergraduate. |
I totally agreed with the OP provided they would work free of charge for the rest of their career.........I don't know why some set of people in their chosen career believed they are more important than the rest of the country. The Doctors worked in tandem with all sector of the country's workforce. They prescribed drugs produced by the pharmacists (which was researched by the lab scientists). Even the buildings being used for Hospitals is built by the engineer. The Ambulance in the hospitals are driven by some people. The equipments are produced by some people. Everybody worked for the betterment of our health sector. |

The problem is lack of good management......we have far better players in Africa at a younger stage than all of Europe.........If player like Lampard, Gerard can be rate as world class midfielder without no particular skills (so to say).....You begin to wonder where the likes of J.J, Oruma and co could have been with good management. |
