Here is my experience as a DIY applicant at Ibadan Office of NIS.
Good afternoon to you all. Its a lengthy one but if you take your time, you will find it worthy especially those that wants to do DIY.
I took my time to reactivate my nairaland accout, follow this thread information and learn from experiences My appointment request date was in first week of October after making payments Online. 25k application fee + 1k Bank charge For my Appointment day, all October and November has been taken. 8th and 9th of December was free. I opted for 9th Because appointment time on the 8th seems unrealistic.
While i wait for December to come to me i was gathering all documents. I must say that GUARANTOR FORM was another headache because all the unnecessary information that i felt are not required for the application. I mean(why ask for my assets, banker's details, where and purpose of traveling). My colleague was a good brain and she assisted. I rechecked and rechecked to confirm that my name are well spelt, date of birth correct. I incurred some cost during this period. (parents should let their children know the names on their important documents and so that they can continue with same format).
Before we continue again. Quick tips *Have 26500 in a working account *Apply onwww.passport.immigration.gov.ng and registered within 30mins. *Pay immediately *Book your appointment date (where you will be and availability of docs is important) *when u pray, pray to meet a God fearing officer. *make copies of Online applications form, Payment receipt documents. (5copies max.) *Plain A4 paper (come with spare) *stipend for other photocopy that will arise (#50 per copy) and snacks to pass time.
So i took an advise from one of the thread. Not to seat back till my appointment date. I choose to go to the venue on 8th of Dec. Instead of 9th Dec (my appointment date) Early on the 8th of Dec. got to the office around 8am i saw crowd seated under the Pavillion close to the gate. Well i forgot that we are all for different reasons. There is a public address system used to address people seated and assuring us all that we will be attended to. I sat for a while to spy on this thread again. I look around to see who cluld be kind enough to be used by God to help me. I saw a man standing firmly, i met him, greeted him, then told him that i came for capturing, i applied online. Didnt wait for him to ask me who was assisting me. He led me to the next office, gave him my docs. And he said why are you just coming you applied since Oct. I said my appointment wasnt due yet and the information stated that i should come to the center on my appointment date.
He passed my file to another to arrange. Am not sure what stage i was in. A thread mentioned that Online application have several stages which includes:" i. Documents arrangements ii. Account checking iii. Verification iv. Interview v. Capturing
I misplaced one of my passports . I had to snap another 8copies for 1k. He finally collected and i was ask to sign i a register, then go back to the pavilion to wait.
I started waiting around 10am. Around 11:30am, i met some officers to ask when i will be called, because i was told to wait. I was told to keep waiting. Around 12pm, i met another officer whom i met in one ot the offices i entered, she came to call some names(brown files only) i explained that i have been waiting she said i should come on my appointment date directly to her office.
DAY 2 I resumed early today around 8:15am. Sat waiting for their resumption. The Public address system is out announcing the whole stages before capturing. Special announcements :they are working on saturday(between 10-2pm) Online payments(DIY) will be attended to too. I met the officer who told me to come today, gave me my file, took it to Account and i was told to come in 30mins later. After 30mins i went back to the office, i had to do small talk on Christmas gift.i collected my file again and took it to the verification office. To go wait under the shed (Pavillion). I can't believe this is really happening, its past 2pm, i haven't been attended to. All officers i met during this process, i have asked what happened to my file. The guys who we went in for interview together have captured and left. The last officer i met said i should wait for God's time. . The bread and tea i ate for breakfast has been spent on anticipation to hear my name been called for capturing. . But someone has mentioned earlier than DIY is not for the faint-hearted. Around 4pm after so many just go and wait, i was called.
Tips for Capturing room * No white tops or shirts * No dropping earrings and Necklace * Pack your Hair neatly. Well, just few minute after the photograph, the generator went off (fuel exhausted for the day). All others well told to come on saturday. I submitted the slip i was given to make photocopy.
Will let you know when i go for collection but till then, you can do it yourself too. |

I am thankful for this post. my capturing date is in December. 1. i still have issues with the Guarantor forms (must all columns be filled, especially the bankers detail, assets, money available ) 2. How many copies are required for all documents? 3. Should i go all hopes up that all process can be done in one day? fabem: MY PASSPORT IS OUT
Finally, after four months of waiting, my passport is out!
After capturing in mid-june, i went to their office in August (8 weeks) to check if the passport is ready and i didn't know how i did it, i lost my enrollment ID along the line and that is where another war started.
I mail, tweet and chat them on Facebook, no response. I even did a thread, no response.
Village people: 1 Me: 0 I remembered during one of my tweet before i lost the ID, i dropped my details for NIS Twitter page to confirm if the passport is out, and i went back to check and i couldn't find that tweet again, i was like this is odd. I hardly lost stuff like this, how come it just vanished like that?
Village people: 2 Me: 0

I did all i could to retrieve it but I couldn't. I accepted my fate and was tracking online, still at the production stage. Same stage since i captured.
I was going out one day when i saw the officer at the front office that helped me sorted my files, before i could reach where he was, he was no more there.
I went back to the office a week later, went to his office and we were discussing and i discovered we lives almost same area, if you see the excitement on my face.
Village people: 2 Me: 1
Collected his contact and we got talking, he told me "they print passport every Tuesday and they have backlog passports they are still printing because of no paper Issue back then. So once they finished backlog printing, they stopped at April production, so they would continue from there".
So around late August, they started printing April and by September they had printed may and June. The Officer do chat me to update me.
I sent him token for recharge card to appreciate him and he still went ahead and gave it to someone at the production unit so that once my passport is out, i will be informed. Truly, yesterday he chat me up that production unit informed him my passport is out! and i can come anytime for it.
Village people: 2 Me: 2
So he helped me bypass that enrollment ID wahala. I went there around 3pm, called him and he took me to the lady in charge and she had already helped me kept my passport , called my name with the rest, handed over to me.
Sat down for activations and left few mins later.
Checked my passport and it was correct and also it was printed just last week since June.
Note: They are just starting printing for July, I don't know about fast tracking, i am talking about DIY.
DIY is not for the faint hearted applicants o. Funniest is, it is getting more harder for DIY because of the crowd getting more increasing daily who wants to fast track their passport especially Lagos and Ibadan.
Do not lose that enrollment ID, i was just lucky because if not, they are ready to frustrate your life.
If you are not in hurry, you can do DIY and wait. As at now, the officer told me they are fully booked throughout this year and January. So the more you wait, the more time you are wasting.
Apart from 25,500 i paid online, i didn't give anyone dime. The token i gave the officer, he didn't request for it, i gave him myself just because he was good to me and also we live same area
The end.
You can ask questions especially for Ibadan people. |

stellytwinkle: Your cheeks have a huge impact on how you look. Chubby cheeks create a youthful appearance, high cheekbones are considered attractive by many and saggy cheeks are often a sign of aging.
One’s face looks fuller at a younger age due to the presence of subcutaneous fat under the skin. This fat is especially located along the cheeks, giving the face a healthy and chubby appearance.
The subcutaneous fat reduces with age, resulting in saggy cheeks and an older-looking appearance. A sunken, sallow face can occur for a variety of reasons and many find it unattractive. Sponsored links
Most babies have chubby cheeks that give them an innocent and beautiful look. Now, many adults prefer chubby cheeks to maintain a youthful appearance.
Trying to get chubby cheeks does not mean piling up fat on your face. You can achieve it by toning your facial skin. A few natural techniques, exercises and home remedies can give your cheeks a plumper and chubby look.
how to get chubby cheeks
Here are the top 6 ways to get chubby cheeks. 1. Facial Yoga
Facial yoga is the best way to get chubby cheeks and lift sagging skin. It helps produce collagen and elastin, both of which make your skin firm and help to plump up, lift and augment hollow cheeks.
Place both forefingers in line with the flare of your nostrils just under the apex of your cheekbones. Make small, firm outward circles in the cheek depression for 1 to 2 minutes. Next, place both forefingers on either side of your nose on the smile furrows, about ½ inch from the outer corners of your lips. Do small, outward circles with your fingertips for 1 to 2 minutes. Finally, place both forefingers on the hinges of your jaw. Make small, firm upward circles in this depression for 1 to 2 minutes. Repeat this complete facial yoga routine a few times a day.
You can also do facial exercises such as cheek presses and cheek lifts to tone your cheek muscles. 2. Blow Balloons
You can also blow balloons to work out your cheek muscles. The process of blowing into a balloon puffs up your cheeks, which in turn helps build up the muscles to add beef to your cheeks.
Blow into a balloon with your mouth. Hold your puffed-up cheeks for 1 minute before letting out the air. Do this 5 or 6 times each day.
You can even perform this exercise by blowing into imaginary balloons. 3. Olive Oil
Olive oil is a time-tested remedy to get chubby cheeks. It contains healthy, monounsaturated fats that aid in maintaining healthy and supple skin. Olive oil works as the perfect moisturizer for dry skin and ensures soft skin. It also helps prevent wrinkles and fine lines.
Consume 1 tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil daily. Use warm olive oil to massage your cheeks in an upward direction for 5 to 10 minutes twice daily.
4. Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera has natural skin-tightening properties that help get rid of sagging cheeks and also promote skin elasticity. Moreover, the antioxidants in aloe Vera prevent damage caused by free radicals and boost collagen production to give you younger-looking skin.
Massage your cheeks with fresh aloe Vera gel using circular motions for 10 minutes. Allow it to sit for another 10 minutes, then rinse it off with warm water. Do this twice daily. Another option is to drink juice prepared from 2 tablespoons of aloe Vera gel once daily.
5. Fenugreek
Fenugreek can also help you get chubby yet firm cheeks. It has vitamins and antioxidants that combat free-radical damage and help promote smooth and healthy skin.
Mix 1 tablespoon of fenugreek powder with a little water to make a thick paste. Apply the paste on your cheeks and massage gently. Leave it on for 10 minutes, then rinse it off with water. Follow this remedy once daily. Another option is to massage your cheeks with fenugreek oil 1 or 2 times daily.
6. Shea Butter
Shea butter is high in fatty acids that can help improve the elasticity of the skin. Moreover, the vitamin E in Shea butter helps tighten the skin to give your cheeks a firm yet chubby appearance.
Rub some Shea butter onto your cheeks and massage in an upward and circular motion for 10 minutes. Allow it to sit for 15 minutes, then wash it off with water. Use this remedy a few times a week. Prepare a thick mixture with one cup of melted Shea butter and ¾ cup of granulated sugar. Store it in the refrigerator until it becomes solid. Apply it on your wet face and massage using gentle circular motions for 5 minutes. Allow it to sit for 10 minutes, then rinse it off with warm water. Follow this remedy daily before taking your daily bath or shower. didnt grab no 1 |
