"If you said I should enter APC, I want to join APC, and I didn’t say I will not join APC even now, but for what position?" - Kwankwaso.

Kwankwaso added: "In this country, who will tell us about the struggle to establish the APC? We are the ones who established the party. We are the leaders of the APC. We challenged the federal government then and faced many threats from the EFCC, ICPC, police, SSS, and others.

“If you say we should join APC, we agree to it, but tell us what the NNPP will get. Give us the answer, and we will agree to join, but don't take us back to when we were neglected. During the APC's 8 years under Buhari, we were not given anything, not even a 'thank you,' because our faction of the PDP didn’t start with them.

“When we left for PDP, even PDP couldn't give us a Zonal Chairman. They thought if we left, we would enter a bush and die. After we left the party, we gained value, and now we have value. Whoever you are, if you mention Nigerian politicians, you must mention Kwankwaso. When I was in the APC or PDP, they didn't value me. We were working for irresponsible people, and when they won elections, they did not consider us or value us.

“We're not in a hurry to leave the NNPP; we’re happy. However, if there is anyone who wants to work with us truthfully and will not abandon us as before, we are ready. Even if the PDP comes back and says they made a mistake and will do this and that, let’s make promises where everyone can see them.”

Trump suggests U.S. troops could return to Afghan base over China concerns

President Donald Trump on Thursday suggested that he is working to reestablish a U.S. presence at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan, four years after America's chaotic withdrawal from the country left the base in the Taliban's hands.

Trump floated the idea during a press conference with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer as he wrapped up a state visit to the U.K. and tied it to the need for the U.S. to counter its top rival, China.

"We're trying to get it back," Trump said of the base in an aside to a question about ending Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The most stupid thing to do by a government is to abandoned the spoilt and deteriorable roads infrastructure all over the country especially those roads in the entire Southern Nigeria, a region that brings the funds for you to be able to engage in all your excessive shenanigans and starts flirting with another roads called coastal roads and be sinking fund into this gulping expenditures that wouldn't add any value to the citizens lives at the moment......the best a good government can do to be fair is to embark in the two at the same time......Nigerians are suffering on the deteriorable roads all over the country.....some roads in Gaza, a war torn country is far better than the roads in Nigeria. Government should be ashamed of themselves......Tinubu especially should cover his face in shame......You can't be calling a person a thief and still caught him romancing a chicken.....What a disgusting Shame on all Nigerian leaders.....

Good to know that the southwest were in charge of of the destruction of our democratic institutions

After their reign in power,any other opposition voice from southwest should be arrested whenever another president from another tribe takes some of these undemocratic precedent being carried out by tinubu and cheered on by his southwest leaders

Nigerians abroad need to start issuing Press Conferences and writing the white house and international community to officially tell them what's happening. This is getting out of hand. Not for them to fight for the people back home, but for them to be aware that a dictator is out to destroy democracy in Africa's biggest nation, and when that dictator comes for aid with lies of no corruption back home, they tell him to go and fix his country.

How can a single individual out of insecurity of being small politically (by number of supporters) be out to win election at any cost including destroying democracy?

Dele Momodu, an ex-chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former presidential aspirant, has criticised the party’s decision to zone its 2027 presidential ticket to the south.

Momodu left the PDP for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition in July.

On Monday, the national executive committee (NEC) of the PDP ceded the presidential ticket for the 2027 election to the southern region.

In a post on Instagram on Tuesday, Momodu described the move as “the most reckless decision in the history of our nascent democracy”.

He alleged that the decision was influenced by Nyesom Wike, minister of the federal capital territory (FCT), whom he accused of working for President Bola Tinubu.

“Yesterday, one of Africa’s biggest, but seriously embattled political parties shot itself in the leg by choosing to hide behind one finger,” Momodu said.

“The PDP finally succumbed to the cheap and puerile blackmail of the black sheep in the opposition party who are openly and daringly working for the ruling party.

“The shame of it was seeing the so-called seasoned politicians, engage in self-adulation for taking the most reckless decision in the history of our nascent democracy, by zoning the 2027 presidential candidacy to Southern Nigeria.”

The PDP chieftain claimed that the party is pretending to field a southern candidate when, in reality, its structures are being positioned to support Tinubu.

“Who did not know that ultimately the hand was that of Wike while the voice was that of Tinubu. Their game plan is not hidden,” he said.

“Wike keeps belching orders at helpless governors who are too jittery to stand firm against daredevil dictatorship. They could not even rescue one of their prominent members in Rivers State, Sim Fubara, when his boat of governance capsized.”

Momodu recalled that Wike opposed zoning in 2022 and even sought to be vice-president to a northern candidate, but is now insisting on a power shift to the south in 2027.

“The geniuses should be courageous enough to admit that Tinubu will be the joint candidate of APC and PDP in 2027. No Jupiter will stop Wike from using PDP structures for Tinubu. That’s already a done deal,” he said.

“Let PDP stop deceiving Nigerians that it will field a southern candidate against Tinubu. Speculations about the possible candidacy of Goodluck Jonathan, Peter Obi and Seyi Makinde are blatant lies from the pit of hell.”

He said the reason given for zoning to the south “stinks to high heavens”.
