The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, on Wednesday closed his case before the Election Petitions Tribunal hearing his petition challenging the victory of Governor Rauf Aregbesola in the August 9 election.

Counsel for the petitioner, Mr. Nathaniel Oke ( SAN), formally announced that Omisore had closed his case while appreciating the wisdom and integrity of members of the panel.

The tribunal adjourned to Monday December 8 when Aregbesola will open his defence.

This happened on the day the United States-based forensic data analysis expert, Mr. Pius Bakare, called by the petitioner to prove his case, admitted that some of the entries he used to arrive at his analysis were wrong but he said the errors were not enough to vitiate his conclusions.

Bakare was led in evidence by the lead counsel for the petitioner, Mr. Nathaniel Oke (SAN).

Bakare, who was the Petitioner Witness 38, said during cross examination by the counsel for the All Progressives Congress, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo ( SAN),  that he entered 222 as votes cast in Unit 5 Ward 2 in Atakumosa East Local Government Area.

When confronted with a Certified True Copy of election result from the unit, the witness confirmed that the total votes cast was 223.

He admitted his entry was wrong.

For Ward 2, Unit 4 of Ilesa East Local Government Area, the witness was also confronted with result form for the unit and he confirmed that the total votes cast in the result was 202, as against what he recorded in his report as 200.

Bakare also admitted that the total votes cast, which he entered at unit 9 ward 5 in Olorunda Local Government Area was 407 whereas the number of total votes cast, as recorded in the election result, was 409.

The witness further admitted that there was a difference of one vote in his entry for Unit 6 Ward 10 of Ilesa East Local Government Area.

The witness had, during cross examination by counsel for the first respondent, Chief Akin Olujimi (SAN), told the tribunal that he carried out forensic examination on 1,842 polling units in the 17 local government areas being disputed, as against 912 being challenged by the petitioner.

Olujinmi said, “You must have read in the petition that the petitioners are contesting 912 units. Are you confirming that the petition is in relation to 912 units?”

He replied, “Our assignment is to examine all the polling units in the contested 17 local government areas. Our analysis contained 1,842 against 912 polling units listed in the petition.”

Mr. Wahab Olowonilara, who testified for the petitioner, told the tribunal that the election was marred by irregularities.
During cross examination by Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), who took over from Olujinmi, the witness admitted  that he voted during the poll but he alleged that the election could not be described as a well conducted one.

One of the witnesses called by Senator Iyiola Omisore of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Moshood Adejare, to prove the allegation of malpractices in the August 9 governorship election failed to prove the allegation of over-voting he alleged in his witness statement on oath at the Election Petitions Tribunal.
Adejare, who was called by  counsel for the petitioner, Dr. Alex Izinyon (SAN), had earlier adopted the statement he deposed to at the registry of the tribunal as his evidence before the court.
Adejare, a ward supervisor for PDP in Ede South during the poll, had alleged over-voting among other irregularities before the tribunal.
However, the All Progressives Congress’ counsel, Mr. Kunle Adegoke, during cross-examination, confronted the witness with exhibit 207, which is result for the ward but he said he could not find evidence of over-voting there.
He added that his explanation might not have been full. 
The counsel described him jokingly as a witness of truth and said he should  be given an award by his religious leader.
The counsel for the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mr. Ayotunde Ogunleye, also challenged the witness to prove the allegation of “superimposition,” which was contained in his deposition but he failed to establish this before the panel.
Asked what he superimposition meant, Adejare said, “It is when you complain of irregularities and your complaints are not attended to.”
Another witness, Taofeek Opaleye, from Boripe Local Government Area of the state also alleged that eligible voters suspected to be supporters of the PDP were prevented from voting by some APC leaders. 
He admitted that he voted but he stated that PDP agents were forced to sign election results. 
The third witness, Oluwaseun Fapohunda, stunned the tribunal, when during cross examination, he said that Governor Rauf Aregbesola voted at his polling unit in Oriade Local Government whereas Aregbesola is from Ilesa in Ilesa West Local Government Area.
Fapohunda also alleged overvoting and he was presented exhibit 203 ( election result for his areas) but he said it was not clear  after the counsel had given his ( counsel) glasses to the witness to assist him to read the result.
The tribunal’s proceedings are still going on.

I'm in school and just confirmed d cause of mine now. SEH released our SEH002 results for students but didn't release it for dept. So dept no send our results to senate. Na now dem jst release d results. So my result is jst going to senate on wednesday.

Na wednesday senate dy sit 4 approval or Tuesday? Cos ma part adviser told me Tuesday wen I called ha earlier ds wk!

So I didn't bother 2 register 4 d C14 because ma part adviser sed ma result wasn't among d one being sent 2 senate 4 approval dt I will av 2 wait till batch A.
And d questn nw is dt: Does ds info dt DSA released applies 2me also?

Please, it seems this is an important information from OAU.
Please I was mobilized to Edo state with batch B,2014 but could not meet up due to my internship program which is for a year.
I should be through with that in January.I want to be remobilized with the next batch but must write a letter of request for remobilization.
Does this piece of information affect persons like me?Thanks.
