TV/Movies / Re: Hidden Messages In The Black Panther Movie Concerning Africa And The Black Race by abdnMe: 8:49pm On Mar 01, 2018
Does Wakanda Share Any Common Border(s) With South Sudan?

Because given the general assumption(?) that the country is in East Africa, why would producer Nate Moore and friends have Black Panther travel all the way to Sambisa in Nigeria to highlight a plight to the world when other more serious issues to be highlighted are closer home to Wakanda?

A nation that keeps records, even if its from an NGO. 674 is way too high and calls for serious attention.

Sad.

Hence the calls for proper gun control laws.

Politics / Report Shows The Americans Aided ISIS With Weapons by abdnMe: 7:20pm On Dec 15, 2017
ISIS got American-supplied weapons within weeks of their dispatch from factories.

1) For American weapons used by ISIS - "The number of weapons goes 'far beyond those that would have been available through battle capture alone', according to the study by arms-monitoring group Conflict Armament Research (CAR) published on Thursday."

Other weapons came from a combination of source countries in Europe and from China, Russian, etc.
- "About 90 percent of weapons and ammunition used by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS) originated in China, Russia, and Eastern Europe, with Russian-made weapons outnumbering those of any other country.
'These findings support widespread assumptions that the group initially captured much of its military material from Iraqi and Syrian government forces,' said the report."
(..initially. And later?)

2) "It added that it could not confirm whether the weapons had ended up with IS as a result of them being sold or because they had been seized.
"US weaponry has been used by IS since at least 2014 when the group swept across Iraq and seized larges swathes of territory."

3) The US and allies were in a hurry to get to Raqqa first, then help ISIS fighters leave the town with weapons:

Source (BBC):

4) US is number 1 in worlds weapons trade, lots of profit even with ISIS acquiring them:
"The transfer of the rockets, purchased from European countries, violated end-user agreements signed by the United States pledging not to transfer the weapons to third parties. In some cases, it took only a few weeks for the weapons to end up in the hands of Islamic State fighters after being delivered to allegedly friendly forces."

Politics / Re: Aisha Buhari Should Study More About Winnie Mandela? by abdnMe: 6:33am On Oct 15, 2016
doesn't matter and these things are family matter
Exactly.
Or maybe she's upset the office of the First Lady of Nigeria was scrapped.
Politics / Aisha Buhari Should Study More About Winnie Mandela? by abdnMe: 8:24pm On Oct 14, 2016
Given all the furore about Aisha Buhari's BBC Hausa interview and the President's response in Germany, it's quite amusing not many people even noticed the similarities with Winnie Mandela's case.

Aisha stated she didn't know the President's appointees into posts in the Nigerian government despite the fact that she had been married to him for 27 years ( fact check - she isn't supposed to know them that's why it is called 'democracy' and 'transparency'.
Her husband gave his own mocking response in Germany.

Note:

- Winnie Mandela is known as one of Africa's foremost female activitists and she campaign for 27 years while her husband was imprisoned by the white South African apartheid government

- Winnie Mandela publicly contradicted his statements for political reconciliation with former apartheid oppressors including when "she contradicted him while they were on a platform in Germany; she repudiated his call that the people of KwaZulu-Natal throw their weapons into the sea". (http://www.iol.co.za/news/politics/why-nelson-and-winnie-got-divorced-354079)

- Winnie even spoke out against xenophobic attacks against fellow Africans in South Africa

- at the end of the day the West and former colonial powers encouraged and supported Mandela's decision to divorce Winnie who spent decades campaigning for his release and justice for their people (today, the South African economy, for instance, is still not in the control of the majority)

- to further keep Winnie out of the limelight the press went to work justifying the divorce because Winnie had engaged in violence and was unfaithful; yet Mandela also had allegations against him too for years
Anthony Sampson, a close friend of Mandela and his official biographer, claims that he was a charismatic "ladies man" and even flaunted his female "political colleagues" in front of Evelyn. "There was another woman and this one started coming home, walking into our bedroom, following him into the bathroom," Evelyn claimed. "I declared that I would not allow it." Rumor has it that Mandela even fathered an illegitimate son by his secretary, Ruth Mompati, around this time. It was enough to Evelyn. They finally divorced in 1958 and she returned to the Transkei where she ran a shop. In a later interview, she remarked bitterly, "How can a man who has committed adultery and left his wife and children be Christ? The whole world worships Nelson too much. He is only a man."

http://america.aljazeera.com/articles/2013/12/13/love-in-a-time-ofstrugglethewomeninnelsonmandelaaslife0.html

The irony now is that our same former colonial masters who supported Mandela's decision to divorce and get rid of a female activist who refused to play to their tune would now try to get the wife of the Nigerian President to play a more contradictory role.

Or will they also support the divorce of Aisha Buhari?

How Africans quickly forget and are manipulated.

Hmmm, #RememberWinnieMandela ?

Politics / Coup Money Channelled Through Nigeria - Turkish Newspaper by abdnMe: 7:36pm On Jul 25, 2016
Poor Nigeria.

From YeniSafak one of Turkey's major newspapers.
Source - http://www.yenisafak.com/en/news/us-commander-campbell-the-man-behind-the-failed-coup-in-turkey-2499245

A former U.S. commander of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), a NATO-led security mission in Afghanistan, was the organizer of the July 15 military coup attempt in Turkey, sources said.

General John F. Campbell was one of the top figures who organized and managed the soldiers behind the failed coup attempt in Turkey, sources close to ongoing legal process of pro-coup detainees said.

Campbell also managed more than $2 billion money transactions via UBA Bank in Nigeria by using CIA links to distribute among the pro-coup military personnel in Turkey.

The ongoing investigation unveiled that Campbell had paid at least two secret visits to Turkey since May, until the day of the coup attempt.

The coup plot that was foiled by the comprehensive effort of Turkish Nation, including its citizens, politicians, media and police forces, was organized by the Fethullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) led-by so-called cleric Fethullah Gülen who has been living in self-exile in America for several years.

American Intelligence, Military and other institutions are accused of supporting the FETO leader Gülen and his gangs for the military coup.

Military sources said Campbell, who was the commander of ISAF between August 26, 2014 and May 1, 2016, had made some top secret meetings in Erzurum military base and Adana İnicrlik Airbase.

İncirlik Airbase has been used by the U.S. Military for conducting the anti-Daesh campaign in Syria.

Military sources said that Campbell was the man, who directed the process of trending / blacklisting the military officers in the base.
If the coup attempt was successful, Campbell would visit Turkey in a short time, according to the sources.

Transition of $2 billion from Nigeria to Turkey

The Nigeria branch of the United Bank of Africa (UBA) was the main base for the last six-months of money transactions for the coup plotters.

Millions of dollars of money has been transferred from Nigeria to Turkey by a group of CIA personnel.

The money, which has been distributed to an 80-person special team of the CIA, was used to convince pro-coup generals.
More than 2 billion dollars were distributed during the process leading to the coup.

After taking money from their bank accounts, the CIA team hand delivered it to the terrorists under the military dresses.

Categorizing the military officers

The sources said that some familiar figures in the Eastern and Southeastern part of the country had taken active roles during the process, while the members of the Gülenist gang have been used in central and eastern region.

All officers who command a group of soldiers in a patrol station, unit, company, regiment, brigade, division, corps, or army were kept in close surveillance.
In 2015, the pro-Gülenist officers in the İncirlik base established an investigation desk. They drew the map of all soldiers under their command. They investigated the soldiers' trends, their personalities and family background.

All soldiers were categorized in three groups: opponents, neutrals, and supporters.

A commander from the smallest patrol station to all military units had been blacklisted under the process.

Soldiers who were marked as opponents to the junta, was debarred from the “financial support.”
The military personnel who were in a neutral position received a difference in the amount of money, according to the importance of their position and ranks.
The money transactions were started in March 2015 through the commissioned “courier”.

The supports who also were categorized as “those who will move with us,” were provided a huge amount of money.

All soldiers and officers in this category were considered as the devoted members of the FETO terror group.
A bag with a large amount of money was found in the room of Brigadier General Mehmet Dişli, one of the top military officials detained for leading the coup attempt.

A Turkish tank has been filmed ploughing into a taxi and crushing it while it still had people inside during protests against an attempted military coup last night.

It is unclear whether the people in the car were injured during the incident, which happened in Istanbul.

Over 190 people are currently said to have been killed.

President Erdogan suggested that the plotters had tried to assassinate him, referring to a bombing in the Turkish Mediterranean resort town of Marmaris after he left on Friday. "It would appear that they thought I was there," he said.

Civilians joined in thwarting the coup, directly confronting the military plotters on the streets.

Politics / Exposed! - Massive Corruption Scandal At NIMC by abdnMe: 9:30pm On Aug 30, 2015

Source: http://universalreporters247.com/2015/08/massive-corruption-scandal-at-national-identity-management-commission-dg-onyemenam-enmeshed-in-n50-billion-fraud

- DG unlawfully spending his 9th Year in Office
- Refuses to Pay Severance Package to Sacked Staff since 3 years
- DG Under Panic to Abscond

On Monday, 25th August, 2015 Barrister Chris Onyemenam visited the Presidential Villa, at that visit it was widely reported that President Muhammadu Buhari was registered for his National Identity Card by the National Identity Management Commission, NIMC.

Onyemenam had at the villa told Journalists that from the NIMC Database, that he has been able to register about seven million Nigerians and that in collaboration with other agencies, in the next three months the number will be quadrupled.

But a NIMC staff who spoke on the condition of anonymity told this medium that the DG, should bury his head in shame, “Is Onyemenam not ashamed of himself by making such statement that he has only registered a paltry seven million Nigerians, since 2007 when he became the Director General of the Commission. Out of over 140 million Nigerians, Barrister Onyemenam could only boast of registering only seven million and he is happy to say it to the world.”

“We all know that he is mired in corruption in collaboration with senior management officials of the Organisation, but we know their time is up, the staff said.”

Universalreporters247.com learnt that some workers in the Commission such as drivers, and some technicians who are on contract with the organisation has not been paid for months, some are being owed three months, while some are being owed five months.

Meanwhile, this medium learnt that this may not be the best time for the Director General following an open letter written by Citizens United for Peace and Stability, CUPS, to President Buhari on the brazen being perpetrated by the DG.

In the letter dated 26/8/2015, and signed by Dr. Idris Ahmed, President and Founder of CUPS divulged how the Director General turned the National Identity Management Commission, NIMC into a commercial entity, using it to enrich himself.

In the letter titled: Exposed! Massive N50 Billion Corruption At National Identity Management Commission – An Open Letter To His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, CUPS, stated that they are compelled to write to the President on matters of national importance, CUPS, said; “Very senior staff at the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) have contacted us, raising alarm about ongoing massive corruption in the commission, which has since almost crippled its operations.”

According to CUPS, it said; “It can be recalled that NIMC was established by an act of Parliament (Act No. 23 of 2007), with the sole aim of fostering the orderly development of an Identity Sector, and building a modern Identity Management System for Nigeria. Some of the objectives of the organisation includes the followingsada) Create, operate, and manage a secure, sustainable National Identity Database for Nigeria; (b) Build and manage an Identity Authentication and Verification Service Infrastructure for Nigeria; (c) Establish Permanent Registration Centres across the country to enrol every Nigerian and legal resident at his/her convenience; and (d) Issue a chip based, highly secure and user friendly multi-application Smart Card to facilitate online/offline identity authentication and verification.”

According to CUPS, it said in spite of the benefits of NIMC to the country, it said that the commission is a shambolic white elephant; “It is saddled with grandeur corruption running into billions of Naira. As discovered by our investigation, during which we received input from many NIMC staff, corruption at the highest management level is endemic. We hereby outline some of the corruption charges raised.”

Chronicle of brazen corruption perpetrated by the current Director- General of the Commission, Barrister Chris Onyemenam, as enumerated by CUPS in it open letter to President Buhari shows how he spent over N50 billion of the Commission’s fund with nothing tangible to show for. Only a paltry 2 million ID cards have been issued since 2007. Similarly, the National Identity Database is a sham. It contains no more than 10 million records, out of a potential 180 million. Besides the DG and his senior colleagues, nobody can tell exactly where the bulk of the N50 billion went to, CUPS said.

“Without proper feasibility studies of the security implications, without due consultation with Nigerian security apparatus, and without due process of bidding, the current DG commercialised the National Identity Database. He solely handedly entered into a commercial agreement with MasterCard, which enables the National ID Card to operate as a Credit Card. Your Excellency, the security and commercial implication of this mistake are enormous.”

According to the NIMC bank account obtained by CUPS, showed that at least N400 million has been squandered in the so called National Agricultural Payment Initiative (NAPI). The N400 was paid to Cellulant Nigeria Ltd. Cellulant is a mobile e-commerce and content management company. It manages, delivers, and bills digital content over mobile telephone network. On 22/7/2015, a whopping N200 million was transferred from NIMC Zenith Bank account to Cellulant.

“The NAPI contract between NIMC and Cellulant is unlawful. It was done devoid of due process of law. There was no proper advertisement for tender, no proper bidding process, and no proper screening exercise that determined the final winner of such a significant contract. Everything was shrouded in secrecy,” CUPS said.

Speaking further, the organisation in its petition stated thus; “Your Excellency, there is also another ongoing scandalous contract between NIMC and a shadowy company called IFY EZE NIGERIA LTD, of no specific address. Without due process of advertisement, bidding for tender, and screening, this company was awarded the contract to supply NIMC with diesel to fuel its generators. Even though the highest cost of 1 litre of diesel is N150 in the market, IFY EZE is allowed to supply diesel to NIMC at the extortionist cost of N250 per litre. On 25/7/2015, the sum of N43,321,759.42 and N6,678,240.58 were transferred from NIMC Zenith Bank Account to IFY EZE.”

“Since 2012, the current DG has spent over N50 million supposedly trying to connect the NIMC offices with the national grid. Up until the time of wring this report, this project has not been implemented. Instead of prioritising the connection of NIMC offices to the national grid to save money, N50 million has been wasted with no results. And at least another N50,000,000 (N43,321,759.42 + N6,678,240.58) has wastefully being paid to shadowy IFY EZE NIGERIA LTD to supply diesel at exorbitant price per litre,” the letter said.

The letter reads thus; “Your Excellency, even the staff at NIMC are not safe from the treachery of their DG. On 18/8/2013 he sacked 3,099 staff under the pretext that they did not have degree qualifications. Not long after that, some more unfortunate staff was unlawfully laid off. These unlawful acts were supported by the then Labour Minister, John Wagu, who we learnt benefited from the illicit lay-off operations. Despite being ordered by the 7th National Assembly to settle the benefits of the sacked employees, none of them is settled as of the time of writing this report.”

In the letter CUPS made some recommendations to President Muhammadu Buhari, in the recommendation it said; “Your Excellency, we contend that it is inimical to national interest to renew the contract of NIMC DG, Mr. Barrister Chris Onyemenam. He has demonstrated propensity towards corruption, he is clearly incompetent, and is therefore not fit for purpose. He has already served two successive terms of 4 years each, and had his contract unlawfully extended by another one year by the then Secretary to the Federal Government, Pius Anyim Pius; All contracts entered into between NIMC and other parties since 2007 should immediately be cancelled and thoroughly investigated, as they were done without due process of law.”

Making further recommendation to the President, CUPS said; “The commercial partnering with MasterCard is inimical to Nigeria’s commercial and security interests. We contend that it is dangerous to commercialise the National Identity Database in this way.
Therefore we advise his Excellency to terminate this senseless contract with immediate effect;
The new employees hired by the DG after the unlawful sacking of over 3,099 staff are mainly people with even less qualifications. They were employed only as favours to friends and family.
They should be screened and retained only on merit;
The over 3,099 employees unlawfully sacked by the DG, whose benefits have still not been paid, should be settled by the Federal Government to ease suffering on them and their families;
The National Identity Management Commission and the National Population Commission are serving very similar functions. Billions of Naira could be saved annually in overhead costs by simply merging the two commissions.

Meanwhile, CUPS in its latest report stated that: “following its open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari on 26/8/2015, and our subsequent update on 27/8/2015, in which we reported grandeur theft worth over N50 billion by the DG National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), we are reliably informed that a witch-hunt exercise has commenced today at the commission.

“The NIMC Director General, Barrister Chris Onyemenam, seems to be in total disarray since we exposed him on 26/8/2015. He spent the whole day harassing and threatening his staff to reveal the identity of the person who leaked this attached bank statement. Of course we know that he will never succeed! This grandeur thief of billions of Naira is totally oblivious of the fact that his every move is actually being recorded, and will be used against him when he gets to the Court. The man seems to be going from frying pan to fire,” CUPS said.

According to CUPS it said; “As a reminder, Barrister Chris Onyemenam has been the DG at NIMC for the past nine years. He systematically brought down the organisation and made it worthless, despite taking more than N50 billion from the Federal Government. Furthermore, without any provocation and warning, he unlawfully sacked nearly 5,000 low ranking employees in 2013. This brought immense suffering to all the families affected, and even death to some of them. We spoke with some of the affected families. Their story is not pleasant to hear.”

More update on the revealing corruption shows that following the CUPS open letter to his Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari on 26/8/2015, CUPS said that they are in a position to reveal that more witnesses have come forward to expose the rot at the agency.”

“Meanwhile we have been reliably informed that panic has set in at NIMC. An emergency meeting was held in Abuja, the meeting which was chaired by the DG Barrister Chris Onyemenam and his senior management officials are making plans of what to do next. Even as CUPS said that absconding may be one of their options,” said CUPS.

Written by Ismail Mudashir, Kano

A female suicide bomber yesterday struck at the ever-busy Dange roundabout in Kano killing herself around 9.30pm, Daily Trust has gathered.

The girl whose age was put at 13 by security operatives went to the roundabout where policemen are stationed before detonating her explosives.

Witnesses told our correspondent that the girl alighted from a car and that after she detonated the explosives the occupants of the car zoomed off.

One Abdulrazak, who witnessed it said immediately after the explosion, the occupants of the vehicle also fired shots in the air.
When Daily Trust visited the scene by 10pm, security men were seen clearing the scene.

Spokesperson of the Kano Police Command, ASP Magaji Musa Majia confirmed the report, saying that only the suicide bomber died.

“The girl is around 13 years, she went straight to the round-about and detonated the explosives. Only her died,” he said.
The last time bomb exploded in Kano was in February when suicide bombers killed 20 persons at the Kofar Nasarawa Car park.
Politics / BBC Accused Of Making Fake Syria Chemical Attack by abdnMe: 9:28am On Jul 04, 2015
It goes to show how countries supporting opposing sides in wars create propoganda and counter-propoganda news to protect their own interests while many of us just consume whatever we're offered on tv, social media, etc.

This is also reflected in countries' 'security reports' like CIA/MI6 able to 'discover' alQaeda/ISIS plots which equally powerful Russian or Chinese secret service appear to 'miss'.

This video is a good watch.

Source: http://www.mintpressnews.com/rt-claims-media-staged-syria-chemical-weapons-attack/187386/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p54hHhlLjRk

RT: “Stunning fakery” in alleged chemical weapons attack according to a former UK ambassador. Coming up…
Announcer: The British Broadcasting Corporation is accused of staging chemical weapons attack.
The CIA admits planting CNN reporters.
And international lawyers call for journalists inciting violence to be expelled.

RT: August 2013 – NATO leaders can’t get the public on side for the imminent bombing of Syria. Suddenly the BBC says it was filming a small rural hospital and a game-changing atrocity happened right there, the moment they were filming.

BBC report: We were filming the doctors working at this hospital when victims of an incendiary bomb attack on a school playground started pouring in.
BBC interview: Absolute chaos and carnage here. It must be some sort of napalm.

RT: But a highly sceptical public stayed hostile to military intervention. Exactly one month later the leaders are trying to pin a chemical weapons attack on Syria without success.

The BBC airs exactly the same footage, but digitally alters the word “napalm” for “chemical weapons”, hoping no one will notice.
BBC interview: Absolute chaos and carnage here. It must be some sort of chemical weapon.

RT: Not only did folks notice but it unleashed a massive public investigation which made some extremely disturbing findings.

Robert Stuart: This is the total fabrication, from beginning to end, of an atrocity, with BBC “reporter” Ian Pannell standing amidst a tableau of very bad actors. This is completely beyond the pale.

RT: This audio analysis by media investigator Robin Upton shows both versions are identical and from the same speech. The BBC then digitally altered the words from “napalm” to “chemical weapon”, the exact justification NATO was finding difficult to prove.

That game-changing allegation was made by two doctors that had travelled with the BBC, who claimed the number of sudden casualties is “overwhelming”.

What kind of doctor, notes media investigator Robert Stuart, gives interviews when she is surrounded by supposedly seriously burned and dying teenagers?
Nurse: Get anyone who isn’t a patient out of here.

RT: When a nurse does finally start to help, her order to “get anyone who isn’t a patient out of here” doesn’t apply to the cameramen. Even worse, notes Stuart, is the bizarre acting, which starts when the man in the centre gives the sign.

RT: Doctor Rola, on whose sole claim the BBC sends the napalm/chemical weapons allegations round the world, is actually the daughter of Syrian rebel Mousa Al-Kurdi.

The parallel to the Gulf War and “Nurse Nayirah” is stunning. Congressmen said the nurse’s tearful testimony that Iraqis were killing children swung their vote in favour of war.

Like they say "experience is the best teacher".
At least she has learnt not to believe everything the media and Internet tries to impose on her mind.

- Aside from pointing out their little interest in the Qur'an and many of them being 'converts', the big question now is why did they let her go after thinking she was working with French intelligence?

It couldn't be because they didn't want to harm her as a woman since she says they put her in prison and beat her?

They could have used her for propaganda videos if they thought she was with French intelligence and they caught her. Or even demand ransome.

- And why would they just tell her to keep her mouth shut and forget everything?

- All this coupled with the ISIS guy in Pakistan recently on the news for saying they got funds from the US plus, also in the news, druze people attacking Syrian 'insurgents' whom Isrealis where driving into Isreal for treatment.

Nadia (not her real name), a 21-year-old French woman, was recruited earlier this spring by Islamic State (IS) jihadists on Internet chatrooms and then travelled to the militants' self-declared capital of Raqa, in Syria.

But she quickly grew disenchanted, finding the highly-radicalised militants "fantasise more about the Kalashnikov than the Koran".

During a tumultuous three months with IS in Raqa, she married and then separated from a jihadist, was twice thrown in jail and then managed to cross into Turkey where she was detained by police.
Agence France-Presse correspondents were given unprecedented access last week to the woman, who cannot be named for security reasons, in the city of Gaziantep where she was detained pending deportation.

Turkey is keen to make an example of such detentions to reject Western accusations it is not doing enough to halt the flow of jihadists across its borders.

Nadia met AFP voluntarily and said she wanted to speak out to deter other women in her position from joining IS.

Wearing a long skirt and a headscarf that still exposed the locks of her brown hair, she spoke confidently and cogently, even as questions remain about parts of her testimony.

"I am talking to open the eyes of the young girls who say 'the West is against us and Daesh is the caliphate'," she told AFP, using an Arabic acronym for IS.

"But it's not a caliphate, it's a sect," she said.

Nadia was deported to France on Tuesday and immediately arrested on arrival.

- 'You go to Raqa' -
Closeted in her bedroom, staring at a computer screen every day, Nadia said she slowly drifted apart from her parents and dropped out of university.

She spent days communicating with IS recruiters who told her she was living in a country hostile to Islam and would end up in hell.

"You quickly get scared (...) and then you withdraw into yourself," she said. "Finally, you say 'yes' and you decide to go to a land where the laws of Allah hold sway."

She says recruiters on the Internet first sent her a false cheque for 1,800 euros ($2,000) that she could cash before it bounced.

Instructed by her handlers not to fly from France and not to wear Islamic dress, she headed to Geneva on March 4 and then flew to Istanbul.

She was met by two men who paid the bus fare for the long journey to the Turkish province of Sanliurfa on the Syrian border. Here she was told to wear the niqab, or face-covering veil, and escorted by two other men.

"We went into the illegal border areas... we walked for 20 minutes, we climbed through the barbed wire, then they found a car for us," she said.

She was then driven to the Syrian town of Tal Abyad -- at the time controlled by IS but now captured by Kurds -- just over the border.

- 'They buy us'-

She arrived in Raqa on March 7 where she was locked up in a house with several other women.
"They told me 'if you want to leave the house, you must get married otherwise you stay here for life'," she said, speaking in a calm voice.

"You are not allowed to call your parents, you have no access to the Internet, everything is forbidden."

She said she finally consented after two weeks to marrying her recruiter, whose mother tongue was French.

But she annulled the "marriage" after a day and was allowed to go and live with two other French women.

But she said her roommates then found a business card linking her to French intelligence, which had interviewed her in the past over a cousin's links with jihadists.

"They called the (IS) police which came for me and put me in prison."

After enduring solitary confinement and beatings in an underground cell operated by IS, she was released and driven by a man to the Turkish border.

"I was told 'you can go back to France but you keep your mouth shut and you forget everything'," she said.

Quite how this came about remains unclear -- very few people have returned to Europe after cooperating with IS and she did not explain why the jihadists would have actively helped her leave.

After crossing into Turkey, she was detained on June 1 by police acting on a tip from French authorities.

French security sources have confirmed that Nadia did indeed travel to Syria, joined IS, married a jihadist and then returned to Turkey.

How she managed to leave IS-controlled territory and return north is a mystery.

- 'Merchandise for men' -

She said by the time she was freed by the jihadists she had grown disillusioned with the IS doctrine and tactics.

"It was not Islam... It was not the Koran, it was just arms, arms and people in battle dress in a kind of fantasy of war," she said.

"They tell us it's just to satisfy God but they buy us through religion."

Portraying the lives of IS militants, she said: "They practice Islam very little. There is very little reading of the Koran, they live just with war chants."

"The majority are converts to Islam, they barely know the religion and they had to quickly get to know Syria."

And women cooperating with IS only serve as outlets for the fighters' sexual desires.

"We are merchandise for the men, they have a list: 'I want a brunette, a blonde, I want this kind of woman of that age'."

She dreams about a new life in France -- better relations with her parents and cutting herself off from the Internet.

"I want to live properly like all the young girls of my age in France. It's strange to be able to go out and see the sun and feel the air."

TABGHA, Israel (AP) — A fire ripped through one of the most famous Catholic churches in the Holy Land on Thursday, damaging the roof and burning prayer books in what authorities believe is an attack by Jewish extremists.

The fire broke out at the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish in the middle of the night, causing extensive damage to the inside and outside of the building, said Israel police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld.

The modern building is built on the remains of a fifth-century Byzantine church and features a Byzantine mosaic floor that was not harmed.

The church marks the traditional spot of Jesus' miracle of the loaves and fish, and is located on the shore of the Sea of Galilee in northern Israel. It is one of the most popular stops for Christian pilgrims visiting the Holy Land.

Father Gregory Collins, head of the Order of Saint Benedict in Israel, which maintains the site, said more than 5,000 people visit the church daily. He said the church would be closed for the next three days due to the fire damage.

"It's deplorable, absolutely deplorable. I consider such an attack to be not just an attack on a religious site, on a sanctuary, but also on one of the most visited places in Israel," Collins said. "It is also an attack on freedom of speech, democracy and the right to live here."

Father Matthias Karl, a German monk at the church, said a souvenir shop, an office for pilgrims and a meeting room were badly damaged, and bibles and prayer books were destroyed.

"It's totally destroyed. The fire was very active," he said.

A monk and a church volunteer were hospitalized from smoke inhalation, but the prayer area of the church was unaffected by the fire, he said.

A passage from a Jewish prayer, calling for the elimination of idol worship, was found scrawled in red spray paint on a wall outside the church.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the incident and ordered the head of Israel's Shin Bet internal security agency to "to conduct a full and speedy investigation."

"This morning's outrageous arson attack on a church is an attack on us all. In Israel freedom of worship is one of our core values and is guaranteed under the law," Netanyahu said. "Those responsible for this despicable crime will face the full force of the law. Hate and intolerance have no place in our society."

Israeli President Reuven Rivlin said authorities would make every effort to apprehend those responsible.

"Such terrible desecration of an ancient and holy place of prayer is an attack on the very fabric of life in our country, where people of different faiths seek to live together in harmony and mutual tolerance and respect," Rivlin said.

Police said they initially arrested 16 youths, all religious Jewish seminary students from West Bank settlements, but released them shortly thereafter. Their lawyer, Itamar Ben Gvir, told Israeli Army Radio the police had no evidence against the youths and that they were under suspicion simply for looking like young settlers.

In recent years, mosques and churches have been targeted by vandals in similar attacks. They are often attributed to extremist Jews from West Bank settlements. Such attacks have been widely condemned across the political spectrum in Israel, though few arrests have been made.

Partially burnt prayer books and leaflets lay in the heavily damaged Church of Multiplication near t …
Last year, a group of mostly Jewish youth attacked the Church of the Multiplication's outdoor prayer area along the Sea of Galilee, pelting worshippers with stones, destroying a cross and throwing benches into the lake, Karl said.

Nahum Weisfish, a rabbi from Jerusalem, went to the church with an interfaith delegation to express sympathy and condemn the attack.

He said the site might have been targeted because it housed a synagogue some 2,000 years ago. "But either way it is forbidden for this to be done like this. We came to condemn this," he said.

Most Americans like to think their military is a tool for preserving the freedom and well-being of people throughout the world.

Generations of American soldiers have indeed performed noble and heroic feats in defense of these values.

However, since the earliest days of the nation, encounters with the US military have often meant death and destruction, as opposed to freedom and justice.

From the American Revolution to the War on Terror, soldiers from every generation have taken part in atrocities of one form or another. If there is any hope for preventing American war crimes in the future, the past transgressions of the US military must be acknowledged and, when possible, the perpetrators brought to justice.

· Just 11% of French aid is genuine, says Action Aid. France spends nearly $2bn on technical assistance and $0.5bn on refugee costs in France. Debt relief, an accounting exercise, is 40%

· Of US aid, 86 cents in the dollar is phantom, largely because it is tied to the purchase of American goods and services. George Bush's Aids drugs plan excludes cheaper, generic drugs, so giving lucrative contracts to US pharmaceutical companies but treating fewer patients

· Of Japanese aid to Vietnam, 86% is spent on infrastructure projects because Vietnam is a key market for Japanese exports. These projects tend to be found in areas where Japanese firms operate

· In Cambodia, donors spent between $50m and $70m on 700 international consultants in 2002 - equivalent to the wage bill for 160,000 Cambodian civil servants

· UK DfID officials posted overseas get allowances for business class flights, which can be transferred towards holiday flights. DfID administrative costs, at 11.5%, are well above the 8% ceiling allowed by DfID in its funding agreements with NGOs

After raising about $500m in donations meant to help rebuild Haiti following the 2011 catastrophic earthquake, the Red Cross managed to only build a meagre six homes in the country, according to a joint investigation by the news agencies Pro Republica and NPR.

The prominent US aid organisation says it has provided homes to more than 130,000 people, "but the actual number of permanent homes the group has built in all of Haiti is six", the report released on Wednesday said.

The statement unveiled how rampant mismanagement, inflated salaries of employees, and a lack of transparency fuelled the squandering of millions of dollars.
It also suggested that the funds raised for Haiti could have been misallocated by the aid group to wipe off at least $100m worth of debt.

"The Red Cross has celebrated their work, saying it has helped more than 4.5 million Haitians to get back on their feet," the report said.

But Jean-Max Bellerive, Haiti’s prime minister at the time of the earthquake, doubts the figure, pointing out the country’s entire population is only about 10 million.

"No, no," Bellerive said of the Red Cross' claim, "it's not possible".

Pro Republica and NPR say that after the Red Cross declined to show the results of its housing projects in Haiti, the news agencies sent a team to the Caribbean country to investigate one of the group's plans earlier this year.

Jean Jean Flaubert, the head of a community group that the Red Cross set up as a local sounding board, "pointed to the lack of progress in the neighbourhood and the healthy salaries paid to expatriate aid workers".

"What the Red Cross told us is that they are coming here to change Campeche. Totally change it," said Flaubert. "Now I do not understand the change that they are talking about. I think the Red Cross is working for themselves."

Abuja, May 14, 2015 (NAN) The National Industrial Court (NIC) on Thursday restrained the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) from taking any form of disciplinary action against the members of Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN).

Justice Peter Lifu gave the order when he delivered a ruling in an ex parte application by the association in Abuja.

The court restrained the defendants, its agents, servants, privies, officers from suspending, terminating, dismissing, retiring the claimant, pending the determination of the motion on notice before the court.

It also restrained the defendant from taking any form of disciplinary action, inordinate or otherwise capable of tampering with the contract of service of the applicants.

Lifu said the claimant must make an undertaking to pay damages to the defendant ``if it is found out that this order of interim injunction was not supposed to be granted.

The ASCSN had in an ex parte application urged the court to restrain the NIMC from suspending or terminating the appointments of the claimant.

The claimant also wanted the court to restrain NIMC from taking any form of disciplinary action capable of tampering or negatively affecting members of ASCSN.

NAN also recalls that the staff have been protesting the recent sack of hundreds of NIMC staff.

The claimant’s Counsel, Mr Promise Asikpo, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the matter was brought to court because of the dispute between the union and the NIMC.
Asikpo said there had been several attempts to tamper with the appointment of the claimants which the ``Ministry of Labour has restrained them and we have all the facts in court’’. (NAN)
