FamilyRe: How Many Of You Ever Drank Water From This? by abdul4me(m): 1:24pm On Aug 28, 2014
On seeing this post today, I remembered the saying of my grand parents (RIP) that if you have a water and can not offer it free to a visitor, what else can you offer to humanity?

This image reminded me of the pot I met at the corner of my grand parents house in the early 80(s), Their house was almost at the end of the village and thus visitor coming to the village on trek always berth under our big dogoyaro tree for resting before continue their journey. all these visitors always drink from the pot, some who knew the content of the pot don't even ask before going for drinking the water and the water always finish quickly, this was a source of embarrassment to one of my uncles who claimed that why every body either the known and unknown are allowed to be drinking from the pot.

The old man used to counter the guy that "I kept this pot because of frequent demand for drinking water from passerby, and one thing you should know in life is that - if you have a water and can not offer it free to a visitor, what else can you offer to humanity?"

But today world, reverse is the case because we lived to have released the health implication of such generosity. I lived my life to have grown out of drinking from such pot but I cannot drink from that same pot today again. When my children are querying me of why not looking at NAFDAC number for biscuit before I opened it, I don't think they will ever near that kind pot each time we traveled to village.
FoodRe: What Has Happened To The Nigerian Delicacy Kulikuli? by abdul4me(m): 1:02pm On Aug 27, 2014
Kulikuli AKA the German Stone
Kulikuli is still very much available in certain part of the country but expensive each time you see it in places like port harcourt. It is found only around the Hausa settlement like Trans Amadi slaughter, Niger Street in port Harcourt main town and once in a while at Kampala off mile1 - mile3 road Diobu.

Kulikuli has a hidden treasure for tapping if investors care to modernize the delicacy by improving on its preservative method for packaging and selling in fast food centers and super markets.

Back in the early nineties in school,
What a life without GARY ?
What a GARY without Kulikuli ?
Nairaland GeneralRe: Beware Of These SCAM Mails From Banks by abdul4me(m): 6:05pm On Aug 19, 2014
I received several mails from bank addresses which I am not operating any account with, Obviously I knew it were all scams. But recently, I decided to follow up with one of such mail and ended like this:
tongue Checked the email header and discovered that the senders IP is a randomly generated IP.
tongue I followed the link in the text "http://wwww.zenithbank.com/internetbanking/login/security.aspx?". They took advantage of the function for attaching link to text in a mail by showing you this Zenith bank login page URL in text but behind the scene is a URL linking you to their password harvest server side page.
tongue following the link above, I landed on a page that is on another server and domain different from ZENITH Bank.
tongue Checking the source code for the landed page, I discovered that the guy saved page from ZENITH Bank website because all folders carried "_files" in the name.
tongue Filling the form with nonsense texts and clicked submit button as if I were falling victim, the page loaded to an action page with weird address and redirected me to zenith bank real website (http://wwww.zenithbank.com/internetbanking/login/security.aspx?).

How not to fall victim
1) always check the URL attached to links in a mail before clicking on it and most importantly, if you don't have account with the bank sending you the mail, just delete it
2) Be sure you take your banker's instructions regarding online submission of personal details.
3) Always read terms and condition attached to any bank form before submission. If you always read the banks TOC, you will hardly fall victims to any of these scams.
WebmastersRe: What Is The Best Platform For An Organization Website? by abdul4me(m): 12:33pm On Jul 22, 2014
If you setup a mission to investigate the best CMS or Blog to use for a web project, You may live never to take off. The more you look, the more you get confused. What I suggest is to take your to Google and preferably I recommend the followings for a start.
WordPress = You don't have to be a programmer before doing anything. The most popular Blog software on earth with endless plugins and theme. Wordpress can really do any thing you can dream of; about web app development.
B2evolution = Almost as easy as the first option. In summary, WordPress came out of B2evolution.
Joomla = Most trusted in terms of security as compared to wordpress and
Tumblr
Drupal

THE Igala Encyclopedia (a.k.a. IGALAPEDIA PROJECT) is an NGO Project initiated to promote the speaking of Igala dialect among Igala Children and re-awake the already diminishing Igala vocabularies in the hands of language imperialism. Its obvious from available records that past three decades see nothing good to the growth of native African languages which igala tribe is among. countless vocabularies of minority African tribes have gone extinct against the ever increasing vocabularies of major tribes of the world who embraced digital media to secure and promote their mother tongue.
Igalapedia is committed to promoting academics, economics and tourism activities in Igala land at free cost. We teach how to speak the Igala language through the internet and desktop application on Windows and MAC OS. IGALA language is one of the major tribes in Nigeria, West Africa, they are found in Kogi State majorly to the east of River Niger and west of Benue-Niger confluence. Long records of hospitality that exist among the Igala(s) and their guests account for the land been a peaceful domain for industrialisation, The length and breath of Igala land is open for local and foreign investors utilisation.

ABSTRACT
This paper titled developing Igala local contents; using a digital approach is to present work that deplores the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) at digitizing Igala language which is currently in progress. This was triggered by the zeal to encourage the research, learning and extensive use of Igala language in every day engagement so as to preserve the language. As a wakeup call to alleviate the impact of the dreaded language endangerment that is less felt in the midst of it active depreciation of values to our dear Igala tribe, A humanitarian and Non Profit making Organization titled IGALAPEDIA was initiated by Abdul M. Yahaya (a Civil Engineer) and a team of volunteers who geared their efforts towards promoting the Igala culture and tradition and also portraying a true identity for the Igala people. The services of the Igalapedia project which is tailored to provide a research hall for Igala language has created enabling environment upon which students, researchers and Igala language professionals will promote their works on African languages and Igala language in particular for rapid development. Many computer programs for learning Igala language and providing supports to researchers have been written and built upon the facilities already in place. Against the backdrop of Igala children at home not having access to internet and computers in schools to really enjoy the benefit of Igalapedia Project teaching Igala language through internet, we also have programs in place to help in sustaining and improving the teaching of the language at local level if only Kogi State government reintroduce Igala language curriculum into schools system.

Key words :Igalapedia, DIVA, Digitization, language, Information Communication Technology (ICT), Culture, Internet, Database, Igala/English Dictionary and Tourism etc.

CultureRe: Yoruba Language Under Threat Of Extinction – Abimbola by abdul4me(m): 9:59am On Mar 29, 2013
Majority of Africans assumed language extinction stories is a fiction because we utilize internet only for social blogging and not to seek knowledge for our mental well being. There are bulk of amazing live stories of languages that flourish the earth one time ago and today we are counting the number of speakers, while some are in a story books.
Make sure you read this article below...

Bernard (1996) reports that, "about 97% of the world’s people speak about 4% of the world’s languages; and conversely, about 96% of the world’s languages are spoken by about 3% of the world’s people. In other words, most of the world’s language heterogeneity, then, is under the stewardship of a very small number of people. A situation such as this, could be described as “language imperialism”.

A language is in danger when its speakers give no relevance to development and using of the language for writing as part of their life, majority of African people most especially those living outside their home failed increasingly to do one of the home work assigned to us by the mother nature, that is not teaching our sibling the speaking of mother tongue. this amount to the reduction in number of communicative domains of local Languages, The effect of which is the ceasure to pass the language on from one generation to the next. That is, there are no new speakers, adults or children".

Unesco (2003) has rightly noted and I quote, "each and every language embodies the unique cultural wisdom of a people. The loss of any language is thus a loss for all humanity. The death of any language results in the irrecoverable loss of unique cultural, historical and ecological knowledge. In other words, the knowledge of any single language may be the key to answering fundamental questions of the future.

Unesco’s (2003) Ad Hoc Expert Group on Endangered Languages says:
"Even languages with many thousands of speakers are no longer being acquired by children; at least 50% of the world’s more than six thousand languages are losing speakers. We estimate that, in most world regions, about 90% of the languages may be replaced by dominant languages by the end of the 21st century". Igala, youruba, Iboe, Housa, Itsekiri, Ikwere, Ijaw, Urobo to mention but few will be among them if nothing is done to secure the Africa Language for the future, we all will be drown in this river of language endangerment.

Nairaland GeneralRe: Can You Report A Law-breaker To Policemen In Nigeria? by abdul4me(m): 7:30pm On Mar 20, 2013
It is good a thing to report law breakers to police as thought in the school those days, but my experience with the current human beings in Nigeria police cannot warrant me to do that, voluntarily reporting a law breaker not breaking your own property to Nigeria police, you are digging your grave. ask me why?
A suspect was reported to Nigeria police in 2005 secretly, after investigation, they arrested the culprits base on evidence collected which was true, A week latter, the men paid a bribe to police and they gave them details of how actually they gather the information to arrest them, then they were back to the street. Guess the number one victim this time aroundhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuh??
The man who made the report to police paid a price for doing such when the issue at hand doesn't concern him. He was been tortured and given last warning: if report this kind of matter to police again : 6ft, if you tell police that we torture you : 6ft.

And now in that same condition with no evidence of reform in the system, hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
May be I must wait to hear from my oga at the top before I report a law breaker that is not breaking my house to the police.

from my experience of writing programs in C, C++, VB and etc, these are no news, unless the person posting this blog is not an ICT compliant.

thank GOD for people like Maleeq and the existence of web blog (where ideas and opinions are shared).

before this age, many people where used to be blindly drown in the rivers of ignorant pumped from shallow wells above the figures of processional band wagons. Am not causing the guy who posted this message, but letting us know, in the absence of internet and web blog; how much we would have continued to be arguing over real and deliberate requirement in programming to let end users enjoy software (eg MS office and windows)

Long Live Internet (and web blog)

every body should relax their mind, that man acted a drama, catching attention of public to push forward his demand for getting the money paid. if really he wanted to commit suicide, he would have kindly drink a poison inside his bedroom or hang him self in his back yard and drop a note for the reason he killed him self.

Waitioooooo
ABI NO BI NAIJA WE DEY? .
I HAVE A TIP FOR guys who are owed by high profile men in society...

1) Arrange with two or three persons
2) find your way to a nearby TELECOM MAST,
3)Climb 3m height, watch out to see that your friends are still within, (watch out in case they sabotage your plan and you may become a saboteur to the telecoms mast owner, you may go prison for that.
4)As you planned, they would raise an alarm.
5) you would become a topic of the days in news media,
6) the man that owed you may try to safe his reputations there by paying you you money.

HELLO NAIJA!!!
Iam not saying that's the game this man played oooooooo
but if you assumed that's what he has done is equivalent to what I explained, you are the one who put it like that to your self
