Please tell us your research because I know the research must have been by a Nigerian or African. Tell us why it's better than my deep freezer
Just random articles online. But i know the researcher identified the clay used in molding it as the major instrument of cooling the water. At the same time releasing calcium into the water. Thats why people that drink from that pot are unusually strong and healthy.

But you should also think about the health implications such as breeding different types of pathogens as it's not properly covered, unsterilised etc. Frank enough, I drank from such a pot but I have grown to realise its health implications mostly these contemporary time that untold sicknesses are walloping the world. My take is that the health risks outweighs its importance!

On seeing this post today, I remembered the saying of my grand parents (RIP) that if you have a water and can not offer it free to a visitor, what else can you offer to humanity?

This image reminded me of the pot I met at the corner of my grand parents house in the early 80(s), Their house was almost at the end of the village and thus visitor coming to the village on trek always berth under our big dogoyaro tree for resting before continue their journey. all these visitors always drink from the pot, some who knew the content of the pot don't even ask before going for drinking the water and the water always finish quickly, this was a source of embarrassment to one of my uncles who claimed that why every body either the known and unknown are allowed to be drinking from the pot.

The old man used to counter the guy that "I kept this pot because of frequent demand for drinking water from passerby, and one thing you should know in life is that - if you have a water and can not offer it free to a visitor, what else can you offer to humanity?"

But today world, reverse is the case because we lived to have released the health implication of such generosity. I lived my life to have grown out of drinking from such pot but I cannot drink from that same pot today again. When my children are querying me of why not looking at NAFDAC number for biscuit before I opened it, I don't think they will ever near that kind pot each time we traveled to village.

Those days at Abule Onigbedu, when grandma was still alive I enjoyed drinking water from that aamu. Yea, the water is naturally cold and refreshing. Its just that, there was a time we travelled to the village, and after drinking d water I started purging. It changed my body system completely.

For God sake give some credit to the guy who first invented this. Mohammed Bah Abba, a Nigerian teacher (1960-2010), may god bless his soul was the first person who implemented this in Nigeria.

You really missed something great. If I may tell you, the water in this "fettish pot" is colder and hygenic than some refrigerated water of today.
