These are verses of the Quran on jihad:
1. “Let there be no compulsion in
religion. Truth has been made clear from
error. Whoever rejects false worship and
believes in Allah has grasped the most
trustworthy handhold that never breaks.
And Allah hears and knows all
things.” [Sûrah al-Baqarah: 256]

2. “If it had been your Lord’s will,
all of the people on Earth would have
believed. Would you then compel the
people so to have them believe?” [ Sûrah
Yûnus: 99]

3. “So if they dispute with you,
say ‘I have submitted my whole self to
Allah, and so have those who follow me.’
And say to the People of the Scripture and
to the unlearned: ‘Do you also submit
yourselves?’ If they do, then they are on
right guidance. But if they turn away, your
duty is only to convey the Message. And in
Allah’s sight are all of His servants.” [ Sûrah
Âl `Imrân: 20]

4. “The Messenger’s duty is but to
proclaim the Message.” [ Sûrah al-Mâ’idah:
99]

5."Invite to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islam)
with wisdom and fair preaching, and
argue with them in a way that is better.
Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone
astray from His Path, and He is the Best
Aware of those who are guided." (Quran,
an-Nahl: 125)

Mind you, there is a whole chapter in the Quran with the name "The Disbelievers" guess what, the content goes as thus;
1. Say : O ye that reject Faith!
2. I worship not that which ye worship,
3. Nor will ye worship that which I
worship.
4. Nor will I worship those whom you
have worshipped;,
5. Nor will ye worship that which I
worship.
6. To you be your Way, and to me
mine.

With the above verses from the Quran, you will see that the Quran does not in any compel religion on anybody, it's a matter of will of hearth.

Violentful Verses in Quran:
1. “And fight them
on until there is no more tumult or
oppression and there prevail justice and
faith in Allah.” [ Sûrah al-Baqarah: 193]
2. “Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight
you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah
loves not transgressors. And slay them
wherever you catch them and drive them
out from whence they drove you out, for
oppression is worse than killing. But fight
them not at the sacred mosque unless
they fight you there. But if they fight you,
slay them. Such is the reward of those
who suppress faith. But if they cease,
Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. And
fight them on until there is no more
tumult or oppression and there prevail
justice and faith in Allah. But if they cease,
let there be no hostility except to those
who practice oppression.” [ Sûrah al-
Baqarah: 190-193]

This was revealed so the Muslims could defend
themselves against persecution and
expulsion from their homes.
3.“To those against whom war is
made, permission is given (to fight),
because they are wronged – and verily
Allah is Most Powerful for their aid – (They
are) those who have been expelled from
their homes in defiance of right – (for no
cause) except that they say, ‘Our Lord is
Allah’. Did Allah not check one set of
people by means of another, there would
surely have been pulled down
monasteries, churches, synagogues, and
mosques, in which the name of Allah is
commemorated in abundant measure.
Allah will certainly aid those who aid his
cause, for truly Allah is full of strength and
might.” [ Sûrah al-Hajj: 39-40

From this point on, the scope of jihad was
broadened from being purely for defense
against direct attack to being inclusive of
resistance against the persecution meted
out by those who suppress the faith and
deny people the freedom to choose their
religion for themselves.

Violent verses in d bible:

1. “When you approach a city to fight against
it, you shall offer it terms of peace. If it
agrees to make peace with you and opens
to you, then all the people who are found
in it shall become your forced labor and
shall serve you. However, if it does not
make peace with you, but makes war
against you, then you shall besiege it.
When the LORD your God gives it into
your hand, you shall strike all the men in
it with the edge of the sword. Only the
women and the children and the animals
and all that is in the city, all its spoil, you
shall take as booty for yourself; and you
shall use the spoil of your enemies which
the LORD your God has given you. Only in
the cities of these peoples that the LORD
your God is giving you as an inheritance,
you shall not leave alive anything that
breathes” (Deuteronomy 20:10-17)

2. And the company shall stone them with
stones, and dispatch them with their
swords; they shall slay their sons and
their daughters.--Ezekiel 23:47

3. God commands the Israelites to "blot out
the rembrance of Amalek from under
heaven." A few hundred years later God
orders Saul to kill of the Amalekites "both
man and woman, infant and suckling." ( 1
Samuel 15:2-3)

4. If you follow your own heart, God will
curse you with all the curses in
Deuteronomy 28:15-68.

5. "Whosoever ... will not hearken unto thy
words ... shall be put to death."
Whoever disobeys Joshua must be killed.
1:18

On this note, I join thousands of "normal" muslims in the world to condem terrorism in all forms as it is against the doctrine of islam and I also implore all christians to never identify them as muslims but rather rag-tag religious fanatics birthed by sheer madness and dis-illusions.

An Abuja-based media consultant and former newspaper editor, Simon Imobo-Tswam, has sued Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, for libel, mischief and the unauthorized use of his name, phone number and platform for image-laundering.

In a lawsuit filed at a High Court in the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Imobo-Tswam seeks N1 billion from the minister as “general and compensatory damages.” According to the plaintiff, Ms. Alison-Madueke and her media agents illegally used his name, his mobile telephone number and the official letterhead of his group, Network of Progressive Activists (NPA), to launch a media attack against former President Olusegun Obasanjo. In addition, according to the plaintiff, the minister and her hirelings exploited his name and group in defending the minister’s alleged questionable spending of N10 billion to charter jets.
Apart from the Petroleum Minister, other defendants are Michael Mukwuzi, Timothy Ademola, ThisDay newspapers, Tokunbo Adedoja, Vanguard newspapers, Chioma Gabriel, and Anozie Egole.
One of the defendants, Mr. Mukwuzi, works with the media department at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) while another, Mr. Ademola, is the executive assistant to the special assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on youth and student matters, as well as the national coordinator of NPA.
In addition to urging Justice M.M. Kolo to award N1 billion, the plaintiff, who is represented by Chris Alashi, also wants the court to order the defendants pay interest of 18% on the judgment award.
Mr. Imobo-Tswam also wants the defendants to apologize to him, with the apology published in the Vanguard and ThisDay.
The lawsuit claims that the defendants “maliciously, malevolently, mischievously and wickedly ascribed/attributed to the plaintiff” opinions that “embarrassed, injured and devastatingly damaged the Plaintiff, and cast him in bad light before well-meaning members of the public and most particularly patriotic Nigerians.”
The lawsuit accuses the minister and her agents of using the plaintiff’s name, without his authorization, as the author of an advertorial that attacked Mr. Obasanjo following a political feud between the former president and President Jonathan. According to the plaintiff, he had rejected an offer to speak against Mr. Obasanjo on a program at AIT TV as well as to represent himself as the author of an anti-Obasanjo piece.
Mr. Imobo-Tswam alleges that, despite his refusal to attack Mr. Obasanjo, Mr. Mukwuzi and Mr. Ademola affixed his name as the author of a scurrilous piece that was published in several Nigerian newspapers.
The plaintiff also asserts that he was approached again to use his name and platform to defend Ms. Alison-Madueke after the minister was accused of recklessly squandering more than N10 billion of public funds on
chartered jets.
The lawsuit stated that, despite the plaintiff’s refusal to lend his name or that of his platform to the defense of the minister, the defendants went ahead to write an advertorial titled “The Unveiling of Operation Destroy Diezani,” giving the misleading impression that he had authored it. The document was subsequently published in several Nigerian newspapers on March 26, 2014. The publication used the plaintiff’s platform’s letterhead, e-mail address and
personal phone number.
The lawsuit asserts that Mr. Imobo-Tswam has suffered great harm since the action by the minister and her alleged, adding that family members,
colleagues as well as church-members, had accused him of championing corruption and economic sabotage as well as being a paid agent of the Presidency and Minister of Petroleum.
No date has been fixed for the hearing of the lawsuit.
