[quote Please send it to my mail, "au.hanson@gmail.com" . Thanks man. I'm still yet to decide whether to use the 018 brain box(coded one) that it came with, or, whether to adhere to the 015 brain box(the uncoded one)? I dnt know the implication, neither do i want to experience any code entering in future in any case?
log this on the mercedes benz thread, u myt get some help. |
olashow: Hello house,no ideas. Ikenna, trac, siena, cardoctor... Dis guy needs help. But does 407 hav a 1.8 engine. I thot 407 pulls with a minimum of ew12 wch is a 2.2 |

Only I need to find a good Mechanic and Electrician for it here in Abuja + where to buy the recommended engine oil, ATFs, coolants, MB wiper fluid and replacement parts. Any ideas where I can get all this and know their costs. ThanksEnjoy Bro all d best. |

@ eromosere abdulkadir: So sorry about ur ayto tranny. Thats what you have to deal with 206,306 nd 406 dey all have same kind of box. |
........ Waiting........ Waiting....... still Waiting..............
I think ur question has been answered smewhre up in dis thread. The ew12 is a more recent engine that was also used in the 407 & 607. Its a 2.2l with a displacement of arnd 2200 cc while d ew10 is older and was used in 406 & 806mpv. It cld hav bn used in d 206 & 306 but i havnt seen it in one in naija. Its 2.2l and has a displacement of 1900+cc. so that means more power with d ew12. And i think a lot more electricals. as per d difference btw 202 & 2003? I think d 2003 comes with alloy wheel unique to it. The circumfrence of d speed clocks is if you like; chromed nd in some cases d back grnd is ilumunated appearing to have whaite like appearance. The 2003 i think also has a combined fabric&leather interior. The floor of d door frame of both models has iluminative peugeot 406 writtren. |
So sorry about ur ayto tranny. Thats what you have to deal with 206,306 nd 406 dey all have same kind of box. There is alikely hood that ur panel beater/painter took ur car unsolicited to be washed with high pressured water. Wch is a no-no for ur car. He did that or not ur gear box is likely to have d issues anyways. In most review dat is d problem with d al4 tranny so dey rebuild in abt a 100k kms. If u have the patience to go thru dis thread ikenna & other posters have shared a link and or discussed d issue. |
Abeg Ikenna dont invite Trac here! He's too "evolved" for dis guy. i havnt seen his post in a while whre d guy dey? |
Smartchoice , is this ride manual or automatic? Mind is manual.. , but the car wud refuse to start leaving me to the mercy of my benz 190..An auto electrician with a similar ride advices that he should come and change the wire hareness and the brain box from 018 serial to 015 serial(the uncoded brain box type) to save the the stress of code entering in future.. what do u advice? Would this have any effect on the car, or any alteration?
your mechanic myt be right to d extent of changing the hareness. Read in some reviews dat the wires get bristle and day brake. Dont know if changin d type is a solution. Check online reviews. Cant lay my hand on any link @ d moment. |
Ikenna351: By D9/Fox V6, by the Grace of God.nice, good luck nd all d best. |
Never had such experience. Talk to siena, Sultaan, nisspart, ikenna they shld be able to help u.. |
So whch is coming in. D v6 fox or a ford? farewell 605..smh |
The w202 is a great car. Which ever one you choose you wont regret. the only challange is with the key if you are getting the one with the keyless entry, it brakes over time but that doesnt stop working. If u r getting d kompressor its usually not d conventional key and in some caseds after a while the ignition goes bad nd u hav to change d keys wch on my last check its arnd 70k NGN. The w203 uses similar key. other than that i dont think dres is part dats so expensive so you wont need to worry abt cost. Its Fuel economy is d bomb, some say 9l / 10okm. I used to do kano to zaria abt 140km with maximum of 15litres. Dre is a thread on dis forum " reliability of c180" tho not much post but it cld be helpful. |
Its eithr youve been replacing with d wrong box or the box was never ur problem. how is d car behaving? |
Do you mean w202 and w203 cos I think the w203 actualy started pruduction in 1999 as well, while d w202 staryed in 1995 up till 2000 in some location. i hav read some not too gd reviews abt d w203 mst gave thumb ups for the w202. a number of frends who owned have one complain or d other, mostly naija factor i bliv. i hav had xperience with the W202. Incredibly cheap to maintain its indistructable. Fuel economy is so great hardly can d much celebrated japvehicle with fuel economy match it. |
When it responds does it keep moving and is the shift btw gears ok. |
How much would a clean original LHD Peugeot 406 (grade 1 if you like) be in the current naija market? a friend told me he bought his own with a total of about N1.3M from Cotonou.
thats around the landing cost from cotonou & europe. Tho it cld be slightly lower or even higher. i learnt dat you cld get it for abt 1m in niger republic. But i dont think its worth d stress if you are not up north. |
Anyone who drives a v6 will hardly want to drive an i4. the fuel consumption is slightly higher than that of an i4 but its d price u pay for a bigger sized engine, handling driving experience nd othr goodies associated with a v6. some will even tel you d fuel consumption is same with d i4 but i think its actually insignificantly higher. |
tigerleggs: Hello House, pls is anybody using Volkswagen Passat 2000? I need valuable information on this car.this is d wrong place to ask. I would advice u start a new thread or check d VW/ Audi thread on dis section, dre u will get xpert opinion with facts. most response u will get here might be biased. |
imperiouxx: Please what's the problem with V6? I'm a graduate student in US and planning to get a 2003-2007 Nissan Murano which is V6.go get ur ride bro. The v6 scare is a naija thing. The funny thin is when you ask dis v6 haters what d problem is dey tell u my mechanic said bla bla bla or dey bit arn d bush. |
Nice one. in some older cars the air bag sensor is in sthe seat belt lock. So if you are not wearing the seat belt in the event of collision in such cars , the airbag might not deploy. drive safely. always wear ur seat belt no matter d situation. Always drive as far away as possible from the steering wheel. This is so common with ladies they drive too close to the steering wheel. It could be dangerous.. |
We r getting dre really soon. Atleast we now have this forum Ikenna351: Australian 2013 French Car FestivalWe r getting dre really soon. Atleast we now have this forum |

bigx: It happens to me when my knee mistakenly hits the ignitionprobably you hav a loose contact in your ignition. is you battery coverd? If not it could be that you hit a bump or smething and the battery positve terminal came i contact with the body. it could be sme other things which i dont know of. |
bro we aint talkin about who sold more or not. Na 9ja terms we dey yarn. Believe it or not japan as cum to stay. They ar far beta dan german in terms of maintanace here in nigeria. I laff wen peeps on these forum talk about handlin, na 4 which road u wan test ur german machine? Truth as to be said japan win it hands down. Av ownd both france , german and japan. Will honestly tell u dat japan is da best in every rankin. Dont just wana remenber my puj 607 dat always chase me in ma your japaoutos would hav been scraped if they are as old as ikenna's pugs. D dude was refering to d guy who said german cars are bla....bla except benz. So avoid dble standard... |
you are talking history,German cars are going down gradually except benz dat is still doing better,Japanese cars have taken the lead,u only surpport German cars because u own one,let me tell u i dont surpport Japanese car because i own one but because of Japan technology,Japan never does inferior technology, though German started atoumobile before them but they have taken them i think u have not been seen Honda interior, say the fact u benz gives u fault, but surffering and smilling, benz dat whre did you get your facts |
Toyotas are good for Nigeria roads.the only thing that surpass toyota is a molue or a trailer.
how do you mean? i can only agree because of its high drnd clearance. whan you talk abt it being able to cope with bad roads. I differ strongly. |
I dont drive a car dat turn heads. But when i roll in my frends Mini Cooper sport it feels like evry body in the town knows me. a lot of pple smile @ me . @ Checkpoints i get compliments. Sometyms its embarassing. |
