The recruitment was fair and transparent and I want to reiterate that Mr. Tata is a man of integrity and has made effort to ensure that the best hands have been selected that can add more value to the system irrespective of whether some have received APLs or not at this time. People should share information that can benefit others. Everything said on this thread is subject to debate even if you are a DPR staff or consultant. Seeking popularity shouldn’t be anyone’s top priority, it would only defeat the purpose of this thread.

Please those with first hand info should share, this is a faceless forum. Don’t be afraid to do so. Thank you.

2.APLs are typed.
3. Many ppl have been able to confirm there status.
4.while the Director wants the APL distribution in July, the Head Corp Services wnts it to be in June.
5.katsina state has the highest number of employed staff with 28 followed by Borno state with 18.
6.I dnt know the state woth the least wmployed staff.

Learnt if at all there would be merit, the number is quite negligible.

Finally, dont anchor your life and plans and goal setting on this but yes! You can hope. Hope for the best and trust God. He always surprises.

I am excited to be back here on this thread. Even when I deactivated my former Smartgrid account, I knew I will eventually comes back. The heat was just too much then, so I had to leave the kitchen Lol.

I have been following this thread occasionally as guest, and over time, alot has been said. Some are true while others are not. Most times I feel the urge to reactivate my account and comment, but then I ask myself; Is that really necessary? You know that kind feeling where you just want to be in peace

I want to shoutout to Neverdown, Ferguson, Marvel and Co. For their numerous contributions. Take this from me, they were telling the truth. Though maybe the info is not 100% correct, but I am sure they have sources from within. Bravo.

I am also excited that our boss lady Tamihawtt is back. Everything she shares lately is true. I am very sure she has first hand info. Pls let's be mindful of our comments, if you have any objections pls say it without insulting anymore. Criticized objectively. Because we are hoping to be a future colleagues and lets start respecting one another from this forum.

Okay here are some of the updates from my side.
- FCC has already issued COC to Dpr. I am 100% sure.
- Appointment letters are typed
- Mr Tata has traveled for religious duties. Expected to return tonight or tomorrow.
- Postings are already sorted. Based on field of study and where you are needed.
- Inductions will be in July. And in batches.
- It's very possible to get emails and texts this week.
- Most of the successful applicants were chosen on merit.
- Mr Tata deserves some accolades. He really fight hard for the those who knew no one. One thing about him is straighforwardness, when he said no is no, and yes is yes. If only you know how he fight for you, you all will be praying for him. Most of the stakeholders thought he was joking when he said 'he can't help their candidates if they don't perform well on the test and interview' but he did exactly what he said.

Hello Marvel64, in my case I don't know anybody at dpr but after the interview I managed to meet my Honorable Member and he wrote a letter of recommendation for me and further linked me with a contact at dpr HQ to submit it on my behalf. I want to know if this increases, reduces or has no bearing on my chances whatsoever. Considering he is not on any petroleum committee or even APC. Thanks

u can get it but depending on his power...even if he is not that petroleum committee .u know even in d national assembly dere is a click of influential members like senate president boys nd speaker boys.....just pray it wil work

Funny enough, who is Mr Shakur? He is DD corporate services appointed to serve in that department by DPR Director not government. U pple have presumed Mr Shakur to be more superior to Director who appointed him into that position. He takes instructions from Director, he can't and I repeat can't go against the instructions of Director of DPR. Director can change him from that department anytime of his wish, not that he can reduce him from DD position but from heading the corporate services department. So Pls merit or no merit is at the discretion of the director. All recommendations from the top politicians are all addressed to the Director of DPR not DD corporate services. It is the discretion of the Director to either approve or disapprove it. Mind u, after compilation of the list, it is the director or Shakur that signs it. All of u are here saying merit merit merit, to be honest am a product of merit in my entire life, but bros and sisters grace of God is ultimate. This grace can come in any form. Getting a top politician or friend to Director or Mr Shakur or any DD in DPR recommend u is also a form of grace. Remember Grace is defined as unmeritted favour. So it can come in all forms. I know it is all our desires to get this DPR job, but the truth be told, naija is not a merit based nation. Starting with president appointments down to the commonest job in naija, connection, godfatherism etc is key. If DPR recruitment is merit based, what of slots given to all DDs in DPR. So u are telling me, all their candidates must pass before they will be recruited, that's fallacy. So minister of petroleum wouldn't have slots, senators in petroleum committees wouldn't have slots. Presidency wouldn't recommend Abi? Pls I humbly advice we pray and ask God for His favour. Some pple can still get it based on merit, but not as I have seem on this trend. 300 + on merit, Lol. I laugh in Swahili, am not discouraging anyone but advice strongly for prayers. Am open to criticism and insults as most of u have resorted to, if the write doesn't fit in to ur assumptions. Becos all that are been said here so far is assumptions. A lot of speculations that didn't happened as said. Once again good luck to all.

u know Nigeria very well...presidency has slots, vice President,SGF,Head of service,chief justice of d fed.,directors in nnpc,DDs of DPR, wife of d President, wife of d vice president, minister of petroleum, senators, reps and FCC etc dey all have slots am very sure.... But some people are here are trying to tell us DAT Mr. Mordecai deserve to b director of DPR mothan anybody wic is not true.

It’s obvious you don’t know the man you are dealing with here. I want you to do me a favour, if you know any management staff in the HQ, ask what Mr. Tata did in the month of January, 2018 that Made the other DDs shocked and speechless. Mr. Tata is fearless, bold and a man of integrity that was why he was get 300+ merit on the list. Mind you, Mr Tata and the king are from the same village. You have no idea how close they are.

Example 1.
Assuming you have BSc. in Economics and applied for a HR position when the position of Economist was also advertised, you are most likely not to get the job. Someone that has BSc. Sociology and applied for the same HR position will be given more attention.


Example 2.
You have BSc. Physics and applied for a Geophysics position.
BSc. Environmental engineering and applied for a petroleum engineer position
BSc. Petroleum engineering and applied for a chemical engineer position.
They will not be considered.

Everything was clearly stated on the recruitment website.

The few successful candidates contacted to update their portals had issues such as missing documents and files belonging to other candidates found on their profile etc. They were further asked to confirm other details like name, class of degree and position applied and were told they would receive a feed back. The same week, the candidates (non-merit) that made it were contacted for confirmation and asked to provide more details.

Portals will be updated when the APLs are ready for pick up.

Factors considered during the final selection process:
1. Two or more candidates were not picked from the same LGA. The one with the highest score was considered.

2. A candidate with an average score of over 70% will be more likely to succeed.

3. If you applied for a position that isn’t related to your discipline, you will be dropped.

4. Masters degree is an advantage

5. Class of degree

6. If you have a relation working in DPR, you will be dropped unless you have a strong backing.

7. Children of retired staff will most likely considered. Only about 10% made it to the interview on merit.

When they say majority is on merit...., they do not mean 100%. Surely there would be a couple that use connection to make it on the list but this recruitment won’t be as bad as the CBN one. What I heard was that the OND recruitment list was made up of mainly connected people so that this one would be majorly on merit. And for those that are doubting ow it’s possible, I heard that Shakur is very stubborn when he wants to be and has strong backing... He is also near retirement age so he has nothin to fear from any Oga at the top
