Great recognition from HE!
Shows the height of his focus.
Only if someone can approach HE about the late Majek Fashek.
IMO, he deserves a state burial. MF did put the country on the map.
Please, kindly suggest to HE if you can.
PoliticsFG Must Subsidize Electricity For Nigerians, Senate Tells Buhari by Abelicious(op): 7:40pm On Jun 30, 2020
Sunday Aborisade, Abuja

The Senate on Tuesday explained why the Federal Government should subsidise electricity for Nigerians.
The electricity distribution companies of Nigeria had on Monday told the National Assembly leadership that the only condition to halt tariff hike was for the Federal Government to bear the difference between the current tariff and the proposed one.
Addressing journalists on behalf of the red chamber on Tuesday, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Power, Senator Gabriel Suswam, and his counterpart in the Media and Public Affairs, Dr. Ajibola Basiru, said increasing the tariff at the moment would be counterproductive.
The upper chamber said the best thing for the Federal Government to do now was to take the challenge of subsiding power by paying DISCOs the balance of the current tariff and the proposed one.
Suswan specifically said there was nowhere in the world where such gestures were not being extended to the citizenry.
He said, “Nowhere in the world that power is not subsidised especially in a developing economy because there are genuine people, who, because of their income, are unable to pay what is called a cost-reflective tariff.
“Nigerians are heavily burdened because of COVID-19. The economy has contracted by 3.2%, that’s a lot.
“So it makes you and I to attend to some of our social problems. So, is the government preferring to add a burden or lessen it?
“The president has been doing well, he has spent so much money, and what we expect is that the spending will gradually reduce or diminish as the power sector becomes more efficient.
“There are two things, one is to make it more efficient and second, the government will back out just like they have done in the oil sector where subsidy has been completely removed.
“Even at that, the government is reducing the pump price. So, should they, in the same vein, increase tariff? It doesn’t make sense.
“I think the executive will agree, even though it’s going to come at a cost. But what cost is more than lessening the burden on the people?”

BusinessCAC To Issue Incorporation Certificates With Tax Numbers by Abelicious(op): 8:05am On Jun 30, 2020
Okechukwu Nnodim , Abuja

Certificates of incorporation of companies registered under Part A of the Companies and Allied Matters Act will now be issued with Tax Identification Numbers.
According to the Corporate Affairs Commission, the registration certificates of business and non - business entities captured in the Act will henceforth be issued with TIN .
The management of CAC disclosed this in separate tweets via the commission’ s official Twitter handle on Monday .
It explained that the move was part of measures aimed at boosting the country ’ s Ease of Doing Business initiative .
The commission said , “ This is to inform our dear esteemed customers that as part of the Ease of Doing Business initiative , Certificates of Incorporation of Companies registered under Part A of CAMA will henceforth carry Tax Identification Numbers issued by the Federal Inland Revenue Service . ”
Based on this, customers of the agency will have no need of applying separately for tax numbers from the FIRS .
“This has dispensed the need for companies to apply for the issuance of Tax Identification Numbers from the FIRS after incorporation ,” the commission stated .
This implies that the processes of registering a business and getting a TIN have been merged , as CAC certificates will now have TINs.
The Federal Government , through its Presidential Enabling Business Environmental Council , has been working to remove the bottlenecks in Nigeria ’ s business environment .
The aim is to attract both foreign and local investments by improving the country ’s ease of doing business .

BusinessRe: Over N400k Got Debited From My Stanbic IBTC Account Overnight (Pics) by Abelicious: 7:42pm On Mar 29, 2020
I lost 100,000 in my zenith bank after I lost my phone. USSD transfer, paystack and NIBBS was revealed on the statement of account.
I reported to the police and sent a mail to the zenith bank complaint desk copied CBN. Police requested 10k to facilitate police report signed by court to extract information from the bank.
After several mails zenith bank promised to recall the unauthorized withdrawal.
Since December last year I have not seen a refund. A dispute form was opened for me sometimes in February.
Still hoping to get refunded. The bank blamed me for not stopping debit on my account after I lost my phone, but I was concerned about tracking down the perpetrators.
You can't blame a man for opening his door after being robbed instead find the robbers. The authorities should wake up to their task and secure funds.
Bottom line, I suspect insider job because I just left the bank when my phone mysteriously disappeared. I wouldn't have seen alert cause the phone is gone. I found out when I wanted to use the ATM. The banks should cooperate with the court and police so that the criminals can be brought to book. It is insider job because the transfer was not to individual bank account but NIBBS and paystack account. Top level transactions.
God help us all!

thanks everybody from Horus to Gabry to SD-6, i really appreciate your contributions.
@ Horus, your contribution is awesome and also informed and i would base my further findings on part of it. my only objection is that, if whites don't have melanin then wouldn't they have become albinos? @ Garby, the Adam and Eve issue is another puzzle to solve.@ sd-6, about believing in evolution i think science has a believable version to most things and they seem to stand the test of time under their given condition(s). about man evolving to an advance being i think that is a check to evolution.
more contributions please!
Nairaland GeneralWas The First Man Black Or White? by Abelicious(op): 9:13pm On Dec 20, 2009
I was thought in sciences at school that man evolved from ape, and that man was endowed with a powerful brain and that man could stand straight (homo-erectus). As if that was not enough, religion wants us to believe that man was made from dust by ‘THE SUPREME BEING’ in HIS image.
If my science classes has thought me right that man evolved from ape, then was the first man white or black?, from a black or white ape. On the other hand, if the religious teachings are true that ‘THE SUPREME BEING’ made man from dust, then did HE make the first man white or black?, or did HE create a white man and later created a black man just like HE did the first white man?
In a nutshell, how and when did pigmentation start?
InvestmentRe: Interest Rate On Fixed Deposit Accounts In Nigeria by Abelicious: 11:02pm On Dec 16, 2009
>>> poster, I have always thought of success as having a job, home, car, and a secure investment which will add to my income flow. based on the knowledge I gained in my QS classes, real sector tops the list of viable investment, followed by securities(stocks, shares, bonds), then fd. my choice of investment is fd just cos of the liquidity and level of risk(low), if you don’t have a stable income and you are thinking of getting immediate returns from the 1m, then fd is not the best option. You could start a medium scale business. rates are negotiable you can get as high as 15% with some banks(p.a)
Good luck
