Love is a game

Chapter 4

Coco's life has been a total mess; one that she detest anytime she tries to think of it. Her parents had left her in the hands of her aunt when they both died in a plane crash.

No they weren't rich, don't  think that, infact they were poor but got lucky when her father won a jackpot of 12million naira bet. And a free flight to the united States of America.

Coco had insisted her dad travel with his wife, since it was strictly one passenger to tag along.

You know how the story ends...the plane crashed. The money claimed by her aunt.

She first met Jonah in frustration, her first love. Her aunt has made life unbearable that sometimes she was locked out of the house. Jonah helped and screwed her.

"Don't worry baby, I'll be gentle"

He reassured when he took her pride and dump her afterwards.

"I'm not feeling this shit anymore ok?"

That was his excuse.

Philip came next, screwed and blew the same reason to her face.

Edward was the one she'd never forget. He was the king of the streets, and even though it didn't work out when he lost his life to the streets, she never fail to thank him for teaching her on how to survive the streets.
"Hey"

Davies snapped and brought her back to the present.

"Marriage?"

She questioned hoarsely, the words just made meaning to her.

"Fake marriage Coco, keep your voice down"

It was a great relief, she sighed and crossed her legs.

"My father has 6months to live, he has been diagnosed with an incurable cancer..."

She made an attempt to show her sympathy, but he cut her shut, just to show that he didn't need it.

"He has refused to share the inheritance among his three sons, until we all present our wives to him. It was all a joke at first, but later on we discovered he was damn serious. And he was ready to give out all his assets to the public if we didn't comply"

He gulped a glass of water down his throat and Coco seized the opportunity to ask.
"Did he say why he wanted you all married?"

"He never got married, he had us from different mistresses"

"Oh" Coco nodded like she got his point.

"He must be some bad ass father"

Her words sounded funny to her, but Davies wasn't buying it.

"What? It's funny"

She chipped in before she asked another question.

"How did you get me a visa in less than 12hours?"

"I had it prepared before hand"

"But you didn't know my name"

"True, your new name is Tricia King"

She attempted to protest but got the feel of the name the next moment.

She chipped with a smile igniting her jaw.

"Tricia king? That's hot, I like it"

He was too Stern and quiet, he wouldn't oblige to her taunts and jokes.

"Would he ask for pictures, documents and all that?"

She pinched his arm when he wasn't responding.

"Don't ever do that again"

He warned but he observed she wasn't moved.

"They've all been put in place, all we need is take photos, we'll do that once we get to London"

"Ok, but for how long will this marriage thing keep up?"

She was pestering him with questions and he was getting offended.

"A week, you can go back to Nigeria afterwards, If he requests for you, the excuse would be you traveled to see your parents...and Coco can you do this Job?"

He put the question to her with his cornered eyes picking the arm she threw across his shoulder.

"Yeah of course"

He made a point to her hands around his shoulder and asked the question again.

"Oh, don't mind me, not my fault tho... you're hot"

Coco eventually slept off, after lots of trials to make Davies fun, all to no avail.

Her head fell to his shoulder, he felt disgusted by it. With a tip of his finger, he gently pushed her head away from his shoulders.

"Coco, Coco, get up, we are here"

The chill, cozy breeze that cooled off her skin, the lights that brightened the environs, was something that ignited splits of bubble in her system.

"Somebody pinch me"

She glimmered with Joy.

"I'm in London?"

CHAPTER 3

Coco sneak out plan was perfect, though Jerry, the pet dog was going to blow her cover when she threw her bags through the window pane.

The thud ignited Jerry's barking. She scrabbled through her bag and found a cracker biscuit she had packed. She tossed one to the dog and he calmed instantly.

"Don't worry boy, I'll be back in no time"

She soothed and hurried off. Jerry was the only friend she had. People found it interesting when she reveals the name of her best friend.

"It's Jerry"

"Wow, he is one lucky guy"

The response she always get with a thrill. But then she cut short their imaginations when she concludes.

"It's a dog"

Weird right...?

Davies was set, it was past 7 and he waited impatiently for Coco to meet up with him. If she makes him miss his flight, hell would be let loosed.

He fitted into his dark single breast suit, silver coloured Prada shoe, dark shades and his silver portfolio to Match.

"Take care of business over here. I don't know when or if I'll ever come back to Nigeria"

davies instructed Peter as he gesticulated at his wrist watch.

Peter missed his friend, the new Davies was not the Davies he grew up with. Davies was full of life, naughty and fun to be with. They had funky adventures together. During high school, they were brawlers and terrorists to the entire school.

All that changed when Jane tore his heart out. He met Jane in college, even Peter liked her. Davies loved her passionately, he was crazy over her that Peter grew jealous when she took half the time they spent together.

She was daughter to an equal influential business man, and anyone who heard the tale of the lovers predicted they were meant to be. He was making plans now to put the ring on her finger. He took Peter and together they selected a diamond ring, a perfect match for her Beauty. Until the D-day. Peter presented the invitation card on a visit to the house.

"My brother gave me this, can you represent me there? I don't think I can make it"

Davies saw the deal as nothing.

"Anything for you bro"

But the next minute he froze, rushed to wash his face before he took another look.

"What is it...?"

"It's Jane, this is Jane's full name, she is getting married?"

Peter snatched the invitation card to confirm, he had not paid attention to the name.

"Oh no..."

He muttered; Davies dialled Jane immediately.

"Babbby!"

Her voice rang from the other end.

"Don't baby me, don't baby me, Jane you're getting married?"

She was quiet now.

"Answer me!"

"Ok, ok. I'm sorry Davies. Look I like you but I discovered a new guy, he is cute and I love him..."

Peter could see Davies hands shaking.

"Jane please am begging you. I love you with all my heart. Jane you promised me, you promised you'd never leave me. Jane I want to propose, I bought a ring already"

His voice was hasty and shaky. Full of hurt and pain

"I'm sorry Davies, I know you love me but I discovered that I just like you, that's all, I'm sorry"

She ended the call. Well Jane ended up divorced after a year of an abusive marriage.

But Davies, a part of him died that day, one that Peter could not bring back.. It was 10years ago, now he was in his late thirties and entitled to own his share of his father's wealth across the country and its environs. But the deal put to him, and his siblings who had their spectacular reasons for remaining single, was to get married to earn their inheritance.

And that is where Coco fits in.

She appeared panting with her bags lingering on her arms.

"You are late"

Davies pointed out and gave Peter a quick nudge before he started out of his office.

"Late? It's just a minute past 7. I've never been this early in my entire life. At least I deserve a credit"

He was quiet as he made her sit in his ride and zoomed to the airport.

"Are you ready for this?"

He finally asked when they were safely in the plane.

"Ready for what? Ok sorry, but you've not given me any hint on the job"

She countered his question

"Are you ready to be my wife"

LOVE IS A GAME

CHAPTER 2

Love is a game? Does that even make sense Davies?”

Peter tailed him from behind. He hated the fact that Coco got the spot. He didn’t like her guts, and he felt she was going to be big trouble.

“Yes, she’s the one I need. I’m taking the first flight tomorrow, back to London, now send the girl to my office”

Peter stopped when Davies doubled his pace.

“Dammit!”

He cursed and started towards the Hall. Coco was back to her seat, busy on her iPhone. Instantly he began to wonder how she got her hands on an iPhone, she must be some thug or something.

“Hey Coco, come with me”

He instructed and turned to leave immediately. The building was a little complex, and so when called for her, he made sure he was quick. He did so on purpose, hoping she lost her way.

“Go through that door”

He instructed with a frown on his face

Davies sat facing her; different thoughts flooded her mind, but whatever it is, she was pretty sure it wouldn’t be something she can’t handle.

She felt he was too handsome. His beards caved down his cheeks, fitting into a perfect side beards. His lips had an oval shape and it appeared tasty below his slight pointed nose and soulful eyes. He had a nice shave, one that suited his slight v-shaped faced. She was checking him out stylishly and he noticed.

“Hey”

He called and snapped her out of her reverie. She didn’t see the need to reply so she simply conned the office with her eyes and chipped a smile at the corner of her lips in response.

“Coco, tell me a little about yourself”

She was quick to chuckle at his question.

“Trust me, there is nothing to tell”

She replied shrewdly. Her personal life was hers to keep.

“You have to get serious here, I don’t have all day”

She read the disgust his tone so she had to adjust to his taste and touched the tip of the iceberg

“I’m an orphan, I live with my aunt who makes life a living hell for me, I’m a street hustler, and I’ve managed to fend for myself”

He didn’t show any remorse or sympathy to her summarised story, that was the least of his interest. She could feel the line on her forehead head crinkle as she looked any pity in his face. He showed none, it didn’t sound new to him.

“You’ve fallen in love before?”

She nodded with a scoff.

“With who?”

“7guys in total; they were all equal bastards”

He smiled now, but she didn’t find it funny.

“You loved them?”

She hesitated and felt he was prying into her personal details.

“I’ll need this info for what I would need you for”

He explained and eased her paranoid mind.

“Loved the first 3, the rest were for fun and for the cash”

He was quiet for a while, and for a minute there she felt she had said too much.

“What kind of fun?”

His question erupted strange butterflies in her tummy. She felt he was being too ridiculous, but he was quite serious, with no sign of levity.

“That kind of fun, sex fun”

He sighed when she averted her eyes to regain her confidence. She felt embarrassed talking about that, he must feel she is some flirt. The next minute she didn’t care.

“Good, I need you for a job, no strings attached. When I mean no strings I mean no feelings, no love, no sex…Strictly business, and you would be well paid”

She didn’t get his point, a thought popped her mind and she gasped in response.

“It’s not prostitution”

It was like he pried her thoughts and countered her outburst. She nodded with a questionable expression still.

“Would it be a problem if I take you out of the country”

She tried so hard to tame the thrill that welled up in her, well robust, ready to burst.

“It’ll would be my pleasure sir”

She didn’t care if she was rational in her decision to tag along with a total stranger, on the bases of a Job that has not been revealed to her yet. Her mind was immediately made up to take the risk, as far it takes her out of the country and out of the torture she called home.

“Alright, get your bags and meet me back here at 8am tomorrow”

She was up and at the threshold when he called out to her.

“And Coco, don’t be late”

LOVE IS A GAME
CHAPTER 1

The context from which an uproar of applauds roared from was one owned by the biggest business tycoon in the city. It was quite early at dawn, a perfect time to meet with the Judges seated in a row, ready to place their final verdict as this competition was at the last stage.
"Look around you, and answer this simple question. What is love?"
Juliet was first to jump at the question. Her eyes glimmered brown, a little skimpy and short with perfect smile that fitted her sparkling set of teeth. She dropped her handbag, dust her skirt and cleared her throat to answer.
"Love is a feeling of attraction. It's a rare feeling of care"
She flushed as she explained, looking around to see if anyone followed with her explanation.
Davies King sat among the high table, alongside Peter Adeniyi his partner in crime. Peter drew close and gave a questionable wink with his eyes, he was sure Juliet had said it all.
"She is not the one"
Davies whispered to Peter while Juliet explained.
"Dude, she is on point"
Peter disagreed when he whispered back.

It was an Audition in disguise. A showcase of talent held with a huge prize of a million dollars award to whoever wins the best position; Single handedly sponsored by Davies King, Son to the richest business tycoon in Abuja, Nigeria.
It was a good facade to get what he really wanted.
The crowd had been scrutinised to pick the best 25. Now they sat in the audition room, In wait for the final knockout.
They had expected something tough and difficult, but instead, the question was thrown as instructed by Davies.
"What is love?"

An applause roared for Juliet, she sat in satisfaction, totally reassured she had said it all.
Jerry stood up next, he was broad and slim, a little dark in complexion to fit his baritone.
"Love is not just a feeling of attraction, but a connection of two hearts"

He got the satisfactory nods and smiles of the ladies, he was pretty sure he would have one or two girls at the end of the Audition. He was handsome, another complete advantage.

His answer was short and precise, one that Juliet felt smacked her own point to naught.
Thompson stood up next and blew their minds away when he said.
"Love his giving someone the right to hurt you, and trusting them not to"
An applause roared and Peter was certain Davies had found the right person.
But a shake of his head in disagreement proved Thompson wasn't close.
They all gave beautiful answers, such that enlightened and got the approval of the Judges. Except Davies, whose approval was one that stands.
A lady sat at the last seat. She wore a black jacket, a Jean and a strap boot. She didn't care if the chewing gum she had in her mouth , caused a distraction. Her hair was well packed in her black face cap. She looked defiant and wore her expression in a rebellious way. She was obviously on the net, chatting and taking photos too. She appeared tough and less concerned with swagg and beauty to top.
"Hey you..."
Peter noticed her and found it disrespectful. He looked to the expression of his fellow Judges, they had the same thought. Without hesitation he called

"Hey you, What's your name?"
"Coco"
She still sat while giving her reply and Peter felt it was rude.
"Will you stand up? What do you think this place is?"
She reluctantly stood to face him.
Peter sighed in exasperation and turned to Davies.
"Can you believe this girl...?"
Davies was quiet, he simply watched the show.
"Come forward... to the front now"
Peter went on and within couple of delayed minutes, she stood in front and faced the high table.
"Face the Audience"
She obeyed after she had chuckled in mockery. It only infuriated Peter the more and he was now prepared to fool her before the house.
"Coco, tell this house why you've not contributed to the question asked"
She smiled, made a noise with her chewing gum before she rhetorically gave her reply.
"It's wrong, all the answers they gave, I saw no reason to add to it"
Peter was going to push further, but Davies interrupted this time.
"So why not tell us the correct answer, what is love...?"
She turned to meet Davies' gaze. With her hands tucked in her pocket, her eyes locked on his, she said out loud.
"We are all here because we love to do something, we love to be famous and earn lots of cash. People would kill to get what they love, people would commit fraud, cheat and lie to get what they love. We love because we want to be appreciated and chosen over the others. We get married because we want to beat others to get there first. And have children just like everyone else...."
Peter was getting irritated already. He had to cut her shut and reminded her of the real question.
"My friend what point are you trying to make here, remember the question"
She was communicating with Davies already, and his eyes never left her when she continued.
"Don't you get my point...?"
She questioned with a sarcastic gesture.
"Love is a fucking game"
Davies got the hit, he stood up and interrupted Peter or any other judge from saying anything else.
He picked his portfolio and just before he head out he whispered to Peter.
"Send her to my office, she is the one"

CHAPTER 23

Day 22/23

"Nooooo!"
Julie charged at Bernice but it was of no use, Bernice was way too powerful; with a quick force field she sent Julie metres backwards. Jack suddenly got bold, but it was of no use either, she held him against the wall and threw him towards the same direction.
Julie was not ready to give this up, she charged at Bernice again but Bernice had taken off, soon the apartment went silent with Jack and Julie pacing breathlessly.
"Favour is gone?"
Julie asked like she needed someone to confirm what she just witnessed.
Jack didn't have a favourable answer so he kept quiet.
"What can I do without her?"
Jack was still speechless, there was no word of encouragement popping up.
He sighed and tried to at least say something meaningful.
"Julie, we can still do this, we would think of something"

"Am sorry Jack but I am new to all this, Favour has been my backbone, without her I can do nothing"
Jack didn't like the fact that she was giving up already.
"Come on Julie, are you giving this up? We can still do this with or without Favour"
She was quiet now. Jack assumed she saw reasons with him but it was far from it. Suddenly she fired back again.
"Jack I have 7days left, 7days, how do I accomplish everything before I am wiped off existence?"

"You are not going anywhere, I won't let the gatekeeper take you"
Julie scoffed at that, what could he possibly do?
"Oh Jack please, I'm guessing if she reappears here now you would pee on you pants"
Jack found her words a little insulting but she was right about one thing
"You are right, I might pee on my pants because she is the ruler of the ghost whatever...and I am human, it's not a fair fight... But that doesn't mean I won't fight, it doesn't mean I won't fight for you"
Julie was getting confused with his recent fight-for-you escapades.

"Why? Why would you fight for me?"
He didn't hesitate to answer
"Because you would do the same for me"
It was a great answer, but it wasn't the one Julie had hoped for.
"Just that?"

"Yea what else?"
He had gone minutes into the silence that followed before he understood what she meant.
"Oh Julie I..."

"No it's OK Jack"
All of a sudden it felt so embarrassing
"It's not like I can force you to love me...am not human, I am a ghost so....

"Julie?"
She didn't wait for another word from him, she took off.
He stood for a while to ponder on where he went wrong.
"I didn't say anything bad, did I?"
He dug his hands into his back pocket to dig out his car keys.
"Well it seems I would be seeing Tony alone"
***
Julie sat on a rock at a beach...she was both pissed and scared of what her fate would be now...Favour was everything to her, she saw Favour as someone would wouldn't leave her side. Suddenly she resolved to meet with Bernice over the issue. Something has to be done.
***
Jack arrived at Tony's apartment. His wife welcomed him warmly and urged him to wait for Tony who stepped out a minute ago. She persuaded him to eat her sumptuous meal and helped him relax with a movie. He was beginning to suspect her kind gesture, but later waved it off when Tony appeared.
"Jack? Come with me, quick"
Tony didn't hesitate the moment he set eyes on Jack.
***
"If you want to see the gatekeeper, all you have to do is think of her"
Julie could still remember Favour's word.
And the moment she did she appeared before the gatekeeper.
"What do you want Julie, you are supposed to be all over Jack now, your time is almost up and he doesn't love you"
Bernice tone was of mockery and Julie sensed it.
"How could you? What did I ever do to you? Why do you hate me so much?"
Julie couldn't understand why the Bernice was against her and all the efforts she made.
"You started it dear, you broke the rules of the other side. You can't blame this on me"

"You would rather aid evil than support good?"
Julie needed to understand that part.
"I don't support evil, neither do I support good, I am neutral, Siera would get her reward"
Julie was going to say something else when Bernice Interjected.
"If I were you Julie, I would be all Jack now, you don't understand do you? Why would I request you fall in love with a person and he falls in love with you as a prize? Does it make sense?"
Julie got attentive now.
"I don't Understand?"

"To come back to the land of the living, there has be a human sacrifice to make a balance. And so when I meant love, I meant this...would Jack love you enough to sacrifice is life so you could live again?"

what happens next? would Jack sacrifice his life for Julie to live again?

THE OTHER SIDE
CHAPTER 22

Day 21

It was the words that he muttered before he passed out. Frank regained consciousness an hour later, he waited till dawn after lots of persuasion from Julie, and took to his heels at first cock crow.
Julie was worried he would go about spewing what he had seen, but there was obviously nothing she could do about it, she had alot on her plate now; she had just nine days left to finally disappear from existence for good. Although she had convinced herself that it didn't matter, Saving Jack was of utmost priority... But right now, she couldn't help but feel scared; what was it like to be wiped off existence? Does it hurt?
"Jack, we have to get the original papers"
She muttered the moment he woke up. His vision was a little blur for a minute before he could visualize Julie.
"Julie, I am the sole owner of Prada designers"
She nodded in agreement.
"Yes you are..."
He was quiet, it was quite clear that he contemplated on something.
"But Julie, I feel my parents were murdered"

"I feel so too"
Jack was glad she felt the same way.
"The car had brake failure, it was perfect the night before...someone must have tangled with it"
She nodded again and sighed simultaneously.
"Yeah, I guess so"
It didn't take a soothsayer to explain that all was not well.
"Are you OK Julie?"
She wasn't, but she didn't want to bother him with it, he had alot on his plate now.
"Emm, I am...I just feel bad for putting you through...."

"Sssshhh"
He hushed her, placing a finger on her lips...
"I asked for it, it wasn't your fault...and if I had a chance to kiss you, trust me I would kiss you over and over again"
She scoffed in disbelief.
"You're crazy Jack"

"Yeah I am...I don't know if this is love but I am crazy about you...strange right? I'm actually saying this to a ghost"
He chuckled nervously.
She felt awkward, his eyes locked in hers were ridiculous. It didn't make sense, yeah she wanted this guy to fall for her, but now that he his actually having a positive approach towards her wish, she feels awkward about it. It didn't make sense, she felt he was acting the emotion because he knows he is supposed to fall for her.
"Jack, let's focus on getting your family's inheritance and on how to protect you from Siera, and the gate keeper...this can come afterwards"
He sensed her unbelief, he didn't fight through, he was pretty sure that he'll do more harm. So he simply smiled and chipped in.
"You see? You've put my needs before yours again, the more reason why I am crazy about you"
Somehow, she wasn't satisfied with just 'I am crazy about you'. She feigned a smile and made him stand up.
"Alright, it's Mr Tony adekunle right? The man your dad entrusted the documents to?"
He nodded in affirmation.
"You know how to reach him?"

"Yeah, I know his place...funny thing is, he didn't tell me anything about my inheritance, I don't know why"
He took to his wardrobe to change into something light.
"Well there is one way to find out"
Julie felt the need to teleport him there but she didn't know where so she had to follow.
"Where is Siera?"
Favour met Julie by the doorway...
"She is..."
Jack realised the rope used to tie her down was quite idle.
"She was just here...she was..."
Julie words got stuck... Favour's skin turning grey was good distraction.
"Favour? Favour what's...?"
It was clear now, the gate keeper appeared from behind them with her whip tied around Favour's neck...
"Finally, I got now"
Bernice muttered amidst smiles of satisfaction.
"No! Let her go!"
To late, within seconds favour dissolved to dust.

Day 20

"Come on Jack we can fix this. Now we need to continue, it's past 1am already"
Favour stated bluntly and brought Jack to sit. He relied on her words, she is a ghost anyway, and when she says she would fix it, she actually means it.
He took the seat, quite ready for another voodoo trip, but halfway he made her pause and asked...there was something he wasn't quite satisfied with.
"Emm, Favour? If you help me remember, would you see my past too?"
She nodded in affirmation, trying to fathom why he asked.
"Emm, sorry but can Julie perform the voodoo stuff? I'm sorry if it would..."
Favour was not ready to hear anything else.
"Alright Julie come over here"
Julie obliged and placed both her hands on both sides of his head as instructed.
"Close your eyes"
She did and was waiting for the next instruction for more than five minutes. She had to take a peek when nothing was said.
"Why are you opening your eyes?"
Favour's freakish question was absurd.
"Emm, I'm waiting for an instruction"
Jack opened his eyes now.
"There is no other instruction, it's an instant connection, you've not connected with his mind"
Julie released her hands on Jack's head to question.
"And how do I do that?"

"You will all fail you bastards!"
It was Siera, and for a moment there they had actually forgotten they had her tied down.
"Will you please shut up?"
Julie was trying to understand what Favour had to pass across, and Siera was not an option now.
"Julie kiss him"
Favour was a bit astonished when Jack allowed a smile on his cornered lips.
Julie acted surprised at her request.
"Emm, it seems you both have been doing lots of the kiss thing huh?"
Favour questioned and urged Julie to go on with her finger signals.
She brought Jack on his feet, a little shy with Favour's presence but it was nothing she couldn't bypass. Slowly she reached for his lips and sent a whole new wave of energy down him that he shuddered and dropped to the torn cushion.
They were locked on and his mind was open.
The accident, the secret, the pain, the love; he remembered them all...
She held him tight and felt she was draining his life source, the passion she felt countered her reservations.
"Julie? Julie! He is bleeding! Let him go!"
Jack remembered it all, it wasn't bad news until he came understand one fact.
Favour forced Julie to released him, his eyes were stone red. He gasped for air and Julie realised what she had put him through.
"Oh my God...I'm so sorry Jack"
She ran to him and placed his head on her thigh.
"I'm so sorry"
He was going to say something, perhaps he was going to scold her, and probably call her pure evil; instead he raised his weak hand and pointed at Siera's direction, and with a weak tone he questioned.
"Wait.. That Devil is my cousin?"

THE OTHER SIDE
CHAPTER 20

Day 19

Jack was trying to tame the fear bubbling within but it was not working this time...favour took front to try and convince the wild ghosts at Siera's command but it wasn't yielding results.
He was scared for Frank, scared for Julie and for himself.
"Stay behind me Julie"
Julie was scared but she couldn't help the mild laugh that escaped her mouth.
"Jack, it's best you stay behind me"
She whispered back and without hesitation he bought the idea.
"What did she promise you all huh?"
It was favour trying to negotiate.
"The gatekeeper would definitely slash you all to dust so why do her biddings?"
Siera chuckled and did the talking for the team.
She looked quite achieved with the few army around her, the whip within her grasp was another advantage.
"You see my dear Friend, these ghosts has been promised 3months to roam freely without interruptions. You know this is an opportunity every ghost would jump at"
Siera made perfect sense, it was obvious she didn't come to be reasoned with, she came for War.
"Siera what did I ever do to you?"
Julie questioned from behind, she was trying to understand why Siera was hell-bent bent on seeing her wiped out of existence, maybe she had done something to hurt her. Although she knew that all her life, she has done everything within her power to see that Siera had the best.
"Nothing dear, I just hate you, hate your guts; I hated the fact that you were more successful than myself...that's all"
Julie was going to charge at Siera but Favour was there to stop her.
"Alright Julie let's think, and Jack it's either you fight or die"
Jack joined the crew immediately.
"What we are after now is the hit spot"
Jack tightened his grip on the mop stick he found just beside the threshold leading to his bedroom.
"Sorry for butting in but what use will that mop stick do?"
Julie had to ask, although she felt it was inappropriate now that Favour was trying to come up with a plan
"Julie would you listen?"

"Ok sorry"

"Hit spot is the cause of death...look to the tall ugly one. You see that large scar on his forehead? That's how he died. Hit that and he is gone"
Siera was done waiting now, she fathomed they were diversifying ways to beckon for leniency.
"You, get Julie"
She had 4ghosts at her disposal and fortunately for Favour, it was the ghost she needed as a sample. She snatched the mop stick from Jack's shivering hands, broke it in two and smashed it against the hit spot; immediately he dissolved to dust.
"That's how it's done!"

"What the...? kill them all!"
Siera gave the charge; immediately the room went dark, whirlwind took over and blew off the roof top, the lights went off, objects scattered to different directions... Jack was after the safety of his friend. He made sure Frank was in a safe corner before he tried to join the fight. Sadly one slap from an angry ghost sent him metres in the air and caused a blackout.
He took another hour to regain himself and noticed Siera tied up with strong rope.
"Where's Julie? Where's Julie?"

"I'm here. All good relax, I can see how you fought for me, huh Jack"
She was making a fun of him now but he had another thought in mind. His eyes got to Frank first...(he was still unconscious) and then all around his torn apartment; with his hands on head he muttered.
"Jesus christ, what do I tell my landlord?"

THE OTHER SIDE
CHAPTER 19

Day 17/18

The objects floating on air spiced more fear that caused Frank to diffuse in hot sweat.
His eyes were protruding and wide open.
Julie was going to release her grip on the objects but her emotions were in full brim, she didn't know a ghost could actually feel this until now.
"Julie put them down"
Jack whispered through his clenched teeth, his eyes still on Frank who tightened the frown on his face.
"Jack, who are you talking to?"
The cushion dropped to earth first and prompted Frank to leap in fear; next the dinning table, and then simultaneously every other object were calm to earth.
"Jack, you...you are into ritualism?"
Jack was getting fed up with all the ideas popping in Frank's brain.
He rolled his eyes to heaven before he spoke out.
"Frank listen to me"
He stood up but Frank was quick to hold up his hands to halt him.
'Stay back...don't move"
He took the next minute before he voiced out.
"Jack you've gone mad"

"No Frank listen..."

"No no...Jack, are you telling me this is normal? objects! Objects were floating on air Jack! There were flying!"

The sound of his lips and wave of his hands were perfect demonstration.
Jack knew Julie had to show herself to Frank, it was the only way.
"Julie?"
Julie who sat watching both men shook her head in disagreement to his idea.
"No way Jack"

"Please, he has to see you, else he won't believe me"
Frank slowly took his step backwards, trying to find the door with his hands swaying backwards.
"Jack, who are you talking too? Jesus..."
He was almost at the door when Julie became visible, and with a smile she called out.
"Hello Frank"
Frank froze for a minute or two before he stuttered out
"That's... Thats Ju...Julie"
No one was giving a satisfactory reply so he fathomed it was actually her ghost.
"Oh, it's...it's her ghost"
Jack nodded now.
"I told you didn't I? You didn't believe me"

"Oh I do now bro"

"Frank you are shivering"
Jack couldn't believe he was the one saying that now, he felt proud somehow.
"Or am I? Am not, am fine"
Jack laughed now.
"No bro, you are nowhere fine"

"Jack stop it am fine"
Frank wanted to prove strong now. He adjusted his polo and tightened his Jean. He thought wise to stand properly to face both human and ghost.
He was going to say something else when Favour appeared to grace the scene.
"Alright Jack, it's time"
It was just as Jack had presumed, Frank lost balance and passed out.
"Oh come on Favour, not again, see what you've done"
Favour noticed Frank stretched out on the floor now.
"Who's that?"

"My friend"

"What? Your friend? What is he doing here at this time?"
Favour was harsh because she knew what was about to happen.
"Hello? I didn't bring him here, he came on his own, for a friendly visit, that's what friends do, they...they see each other!"
Favour was not ready to waste another minute.
She mind controlled Jack to stand before her.
"What are you doing? He is gonna die if we do nothing!"
Jack was shouting on top of his voice while making his point. Julie was a little lost in the scene, but there was something she could do about it.
She took Frank in her arms and blew a mild breathe on his nostrils... He jerked back to life and resolved to his shell of fear the moment his vision became clear.
"Jack, Its time, the moon is full"
A chair was mind controlled and Jack was placed to sit, quickly Favour held his head with both hands, she was able to access Just a scene before Siera barged in with a force of a few ghost.
Favour was thrown off balance; Julie brushed off to the dinning; Jack was held up to the ceilings; objects in motion, Frank passed out again.

CHAPTER 18

Day 17

Jack was on his way back with dinner, he wasn't sure what Julie might like so he just settled for a random selection of a quick snack and two plate of iced cream.
He was eager to see the glimmer in her eyes when he shows up...a quick thought popped up and he was quick to grab it.
Luckily a flower shop was close by, (his exact thought). It was the first time he attempted this and he clearly needed help in his selection. Luckily, a voice called from behind.
"Pick the pink, girls are suckers for those"
It was a middle aged woman, a little plumpy and fair. One look at her connoted that she was the viand to men's eyes in her youthful days.
"Thank you ma"
He smiled in satisfaction and got back in his car. He felt the need to hum in rhythm with the track emanating from the radio receiver.
Minutes later he got to his apartment and called out immediately.
"Julie?"
The silence gave way for a chilly fear that crept through his veins.
"Julie?"

"I'm here"
She startled him again. He held his chest to breathe well before he spoke out, trying to scuffle with the loads of items he had.
"Emm Julie, first I want to thank you for choosing to save my life, even when you knew it would be at the expense of yours"
He timidly presented the Rose to her and avoided her eyes, the fear of rejection was one he feared.
When she was alive, she had lots of flowers from different kind of people with outstanding caliber. It didn't matter to her then, she would end up throwing them in the trash can. But somehow, Jack's Rose felt special.
"Thanks Jack, thank you for saving me too"
He felt her eyes linger on him, he clearly had nothing else to say. Quickly he tried to opt out of the moment when he revealed the snacks.
"Who is hungry?"
His grin met Julie's frown.
"Jack? Who is going to eat these? I'm a ghost remember? I can't eat?"
His Jaw dropped in disappointment. How could he forget such an important fact?
"Oh don't be like this...OK set the table, I'll feed you, how about that?"
He wasn't to keen about the idea, it sounded ridiculous. He is not a baby, why would she feed him?
However, her persistence lured him to give in reluctantly.

"Open your mouth wide Jack, I'm gonna stuff you up...none of these would go to waste"
Her words triggered memories of his foster mother, it was the exact words she always say when she served him with any delicious dish.
She held a spoonful of iced cream and urged him with her eyes.
He wanted to act naughty and so he held the spoon with his lips and got her arm fairly stuck.
"Jack you know I can swing you like a piece of paper round this room"
She warned jokingly.
He chuckled but held it still.
"Yeah I can do that Jack"
He didn't oblige so she realised her grip from the spoon and sat back to take another look at him.
"You know when I said I never loved a guy, I lied. I actually did...but"
She paused with her head bowed.
"But what?
He released the spoon from his mouth to voice out.
" what happened?"

"I was, I was too bitter with hate, he couldn't take it, he broke up with me..."
She sighed and looked to observe his expression, he was blank and so she concluded.
"Jack I'm a bad person, I am not capable of love, I've hurt too many people Jack, too many people. Bernice knew the exact punishment for me. And it's not the fact that I won't be coming back to the land of the living, it's love. Love is my punishment, because I would never know what it feels like, it's a pain...its..."
Jack was touched that he felt the need to hush her.
"Julie, you're too hard on yourself, it's not your fault you were like that, situations and the cruel potholes of life made you a little harsh"
She wasn't convinced, with her head bowed she muttered.
"Nice try Jack, but I know I am doomed, I'm just waiting for..."
She paused to look in his soulful eyes.
"I just want to make good use of the moment we would have and save your life before my time runs out"
His right hand touched her cheek, the other hand followed till he cupped both sides with his palm.
"You are going nowhere, I won't let her take you, I promise"
She resolved that it was all talk, what could he possibly do to withstand Bernice? He is human. Although, she didn't fail to thank him.
"Thanks you Jack"
The moment was ripe and cozy, flares of emotions can be blamed to be the cause for Jack's next move. His lips brushed against hers; it swept a full rush of passion down her, objects in the apartment began to elevate and floated on air.
It was cut short when Frank walked in and called out in confusion.
"Jack? What are you doing?"

CHAPTER 17

Day 16/17

Jack was keen on the recent update, he had a family he didn't know of? How is that possible?
But he had no memory of them; he was adopted?
All these questions welled up in his mind that he felt he would explode.
"How do I meet them?"
He fathomed Favour had the answer to everything.
"You won't be meeting them, they died in an accident, but you survived"
Jack hands dropped from his Jaw. Julie had expected an outburst but surprisingly he was still calm.
"How do you know this?"

"I've been doing some research to know why Siera is hell-bent on seeing you dead"
Julie was next with her question.
"You said he survived the accident, at what age? And why can't he remember?"
Jack nodded to her question, he didn't have any memory of the so-called parents.
"You lost that part of your life, you lost your memory...it was accident, there is bound to be inevitable damages. Don't you wonder how that scar at the back of your head?"
Jack quickly reached for the scar to feel it again...it made perfect sense.
"I scrambled through some hospital records, you were sewn up...and miraculously you survived"
Jack sighed in thoughts before he came up with another question.
"So what next?"

"You have to remember, your Father is the sole owner of Prada designers, he must have entrusted the original documents of Ownership to you"
Julie had to remind Favour of one unanswered question.
"At what age did this happen?"

"Age 14"
Favour replied hastily.
"How do I remember?"
Jack stood up now, he appeared quite ready for the task ahead.
"As a ghost, I have a specific power to see into your past, but I can only do that during the full moon. Luckily the next full moon is tomorrow"
Favour was optimistic and she was glad the others (Jack and Julie) shared in it.
She attempted to take off but held back to ask.
"And emm Julie, how is your love game going?"
Julie felt embarrassed, she shot a stern look at Favour who offered a smirk before she took off.
She felt Jack avoiding her eyes for a moment before he asked.
"So emmm, I am supposed to love you?"
He asked.
She felt cheap, even if it was a necessity to bring her back to the land of the living, she still felt it was an insult to her ego as a woman.
"Yea, but just forget about it, it's not possible, love is not something you force, let's focus on saving your life"
She avoided his eyes; the thought of taking off was one she considered but she felt it would be too rude.
Jack's silence became too uncomfortable that she had to offer an option of exit.
"Maybe I should just go and come back when you're..."
He was quick to interrupt.
"No, stay, let's talk"
She reluctantly agreed and waited for him to spit something out.
"What happened?"
She didn't get his question.
"Huh?"

"I'm pretty sure that you were not always rude and trashy, something must have made you..."
She Interjected when she spilled the beans.
"I lost my family, I lost them because the world refused to help, the world fathomed I would be crushed, they thought I won't survive...and so I swore to have vengeance at the world...and I couldn't think of another possible way than success, and a self centered personality where I alone matter"
He nodded and sighed in unison.
"You've loved someone before?"
She was quick with her reply
"Yes, myself"
Her reply met his unimpressed face.
"I meant the opposite sex"
She didn't have the deep soulful eyes to look through and figure the truth.
"No...they suck...guys, they suck"
She had made a hit on her reply before she discovered she was actually talking to a guy.
"Oh you are a guy, sorry"
He understood that she needed him now, so with the advantages in his mind he questioned.
"What about me? Remember you need me"
She chuckled at first and slashed his bubbles when she replied.
"No offense but even if I need you, you still suck"
It was supposed to get him angry, but he found himself laughing to it.
"I like your guts girl"
He said and picked his car keys.
"How about a date?"
Her face tightened to a frown.
"A date? With a ghost?"

"Yea, Don't worry I would bring the dinner here, it's not a crime to have a date in my apartment"
She eased up now and allowed a smile on her face.
"Alright"
***
Siera could feel her bones reawakened...she stretched to full length before she noticed Bernice beside her.
She sat up to discover she was in Julie's mansion; the mansion she had successfully personalised.
"You again"
She muttered.
"The whip"

"Is here"
Bernice completed her words.
"I healed all the wounds inflicted"
She went further.
Siera was glad but she didn't understand what Bernice stand to gain from the charade.
"Why are you helping me?"
She had to ask now.
"I don't like seeing ghosts mess with the fate of humans, see it as your bonus"
Siera allowed a frown on her face before she collected the whip and urged Bernice to speak up.
"I'm guessing there is something you need me for"

"Yes...As the gate keeper the full moon is when I get busy with the citadel of elders"
Siera got confused.
"Ok what's the citadel of elders?"

"That's none of your business...Julie is planning to recover Jack's memory and if she succeeds, it means his fate has been tampered with, you have to go there tomorrow and stop it. I will send faithful ghosts with you, so don't worry, it would be a fair fight"
Siera broadened with smiles of satisfaction, this was going to be round 3.

Chapter 16
Day 15

It was the first time in forever; the impossible was about the happen, the living and the dead, in a duel.
Siera and been tossed to the far end of the apartment, thrown over the dinning table to land with a loud thud.
Jack was going to leap in shock but Julie was by his side to sooth him.
"It's ok Jack, go back to sleep, I'm trying to squash an insect"
He believed her and soon he was off again.
"Julie! You bastard!"
Siera fumed in wrath, she had successfully screwed through her bag to find the whip, there is no way she would miss this time.
"Come out here if you've got the guts!"
Julie hissed and took off to stand before Siera.
"Siera?"
Quickly she lashed the whip but Julie was quick to teleport before it got to her.
Siera laughed wickedly now, she felt in charge and called out to Julie
"Come out here you bastard!"
"Siera, I loved you more than myself"
Julie was nowhere visible but her voice reverberated in the apartment.
Siera stood looking around nervously.
"And you threw it at my face, you murdered me Siera, what did I ever do to you?"
The sudden breeze that washed over Siera made her shiver in fear and she trembled even more.
"Come out come out you bitch!"
Her voice seems to progress to an higher volume, she tightened her hands on her whip.
"You are dead bitch, so stay dead!"
There was silence, and for a moment Siera was beginning to think she had spurned Julie for good.
But then a sudden rush of wind picked Siera off the ground and smashed her against the wall with force...
She winced in pain and Julie was there to tame her.
"Oh don't scream now love, I'm not going to kill you yet...I'm only going to break every bone in your body, bit by bit..."
Siera tightened grip on the whip tried to fling it at Julie but her hands were weak now. She coughed from the backache she felt and sprout out blood.
"You...bitch"
She muttered but Julie wasn't done, she couldn't touch the whip, but she was going to make sure Siera had no hands to touch them either.
She picked Siera up and held her against the Ceilings, twisting the joints that held her hands together... Siera screamed in pain and pleaded but Julie wouldn't listen.
"The reason you had me the first time was because I still had a soft spot for you...but now, now I just wanna see you bleed"
She turned Siera upside down and took hold of the joints holding her legs together.
"You won't be walking for a long time Siera"
She muttered and loosed her joints with a twist.
"Arrrgghhhh! Julie please"
Julie was getting the thrill now, she got a long cane she had in store and laid Siera on her stomach.
"What happens to stupid kids?"
Siera's tears were an hindrance to give an answer.
"Huh!"
"Sorry sorry, they get punished"
Julie wasn't satisfied with her answer, she contemplated for a while before she shook her head in disagreement.
"Nah, they get flogged!"
With that she thrashed Siera's butt till she was certain Siera won't be able to sit for a long time...
Now that she Siera could barely talk, Julie helped in the transportation bill.
She took hold of Siera and appeared in her office at Prada designers.
"There Siera, you owe me, and don't think I wouldn't kill you, just that the gatekeeper wouldn't let me"
She watched Siera wince in pain, blood dripping from both her nose and mouth, swollen face and ass. A sudden feeling of little satisfaction beamed her face and before she turned to go, she didn't fail to wish the best.
"Get well soon, dear Siera"
***
"Julie?"
Jack was up now and Julie was nowhere visible. He could see the drops of blood that littered the floor, a sudden rush of fear gripped him but he composed himself.
"Julie?"
He got a mop and attempted to clean off the blood when Julie showed up.
"Hey"
She called with a smile.
He stopped to see her smiling at him.
"Julie what happened here?"
He was direct with the question but it didn't stop her from smiling still.
"Let's just say I saved you from..."
Julie paused when she noticed the gun beside the cushion...
"Oh hold on, she left her property"
"You mean Siera?"
Jack asked but Julie was off again. He spotted the whip on the dinning table, the chairs dissipated, the flower vase that stood on his centre table was broken...he didn't need a soothsayer to tell him another battle had transpired.
Julie was back and he felt it.
"You know my apartment has been the wrestling ring for you ghosts"
He said as Julie took charge and restored the apartment to glimmer.
"Where is Siera?"
He didn't know if he should ask, but he had to.
The smirk on Julie's face connoted one thing, Siera was in a bad shape.
"You killed her?"
"Nah, Bernice wouldn't let me...I flogged her, as forewarning, she'll stay away from you now"
Jack was quiet for a while, they both had a lot to say but both didn't know the best way to start up the discussion.
"Julie..."
"Thank you, thank you for saving my life"
Julie was quick to Interject.
"Why did you say it?"
"Say what?"
"Why did you say those words..."
Julie was not getting his point.
"What words?"
"Why did you say you love me?"
He was staring at her intently. She stuttered and felt her eyes grow dim from staring at one position.
Favour appeared and Julie was so glad for the interruption.
"Nice Job dealing with Siera, I'm guessing you think she is half dead by now"
Favour was straight to the point, just that Jack wasn't happy with the interruption.
"You again"
He muttered but Favour wasn't paying attention to him.
"What if I told you Siera is fine, she has no scratch on her"
Julie shook her head in disbelief.
"That's impossible, I even have the whip now"
"Really? Where is it?"
A frown appeared on Julie's face, a minute back, she was sure the whip was on the dinning table, but now, it was gone.
"Listen Julie, don't fold your hands like you've won, not when you are dealing with the gatekeeper...you'll need Jack's help"
Favour turned to Jack now who was obviously trying to fit into the scene.
"Jack"
"Oh finally she realise that I'm actually recognizable"
Favour was not interested in his sense of humour. She made a hit on the point.
"Jack it's time you know who your real parents are and take charge of Prada designers"
She paused to leave Jack stunned with questions and then turned to Julie.
"Guard up girl, the battle is far from over"

Chapter 15

Day 13/14

Jack held his breathe, his thoughts were conflicted, they were without base. He knew he had broken out in sweat already but he didn't want to accept the fact that he was scared to death. The apartment was calm now and he could see the gatekeeper before him. Her eyes glowed white beneath her cloak.
"I'm not gonna ask what you are, or what you are doing in my room, because I know who you are, and I'm... I'm not scared of you"

Bernice's lips gave way for the smile she posed for it. And then the next minute it disappeared.

"Step away from her"

She instructed.

"Who?"

He knew she meant Julie, but he felt asking would stale lots of precious time.

"She is doomed already and if you think there is anything you can do to save her then you've got it all wrong"

She didn't look all scary to Jack, but he wasn't going to give Julie to her anyway. He wouldn't deny the fact that he was scared, but he was ready to bear whatever it takes to protect her.

"Before you take her, can I at least touch her?"

She remained quiet, neither her words or actions gave him a go ahead, so he figured it was a yes.

"On the 30th of this month, You'll die, if you save her"

Her words sank deep Into his membrane.

"What?"
"She deviated from the bargain and she knew the consequences attached to it"
"When you mean the bargain, you mean because she tried to protect me?"

Bernice nodded and attempted to take Julie with her but Jack Interrupted.

"What was the bargain?"

She didn't seem offended with his attempts.

"That she makes you fall in love with her with 30days in exchange for another chance to the land of the living...but she chose to save your life instead"

Jack understood now, how compassionate Julie had been, she was willing to sacrifice her chances of coming back to earth for him? what other love is greater than this?"

He suddenly got bold.

"You are taking her nowhere, how do I save her?"

Bernice smiled at his guts. He couldn't tell if it was what she wanted but with her actions he could read she had more than one intention.

"If you save her, you will die on the 30th of this month"

His heart missed again, but his mind had taken control and there was no going back.

"I have no one to live for, so why not, how do I save her, the dark hole is getting bigger"

She was quiet for a while and he was beginning to lose patience.

"Kiss her"

Just that? Her lips were dry and all white. But it was piece of cake.

Before Bernice could drop another word of restriction, he dived at the task and picked her lips with his.

Instantly she got the charge and caught his lips, the energy transfer drained him till the hole in her chest was completely covered.

He fell to the bare tiles, still a little subconscious.

"Jack Wilshere, you just gave out 5years from your life span to Julie"

It was the last words he heard before he trailed off.

An hour later he opened his eyes, still a little blur he felt a sharp headache shooting from his spine to his head.

He held his head and groaned in pain. And she was there to help.

"Jack?"

Her voice was calm and caressing.

"It's going to be ok, I'm here, I won't let any harm come to you"

His vision was still blur but he could recognize Julie's voice and he somehow found confidence in it.

"Go back to sleep now"

She placed a feather light kiss on his forehead and watched him trail off to sleep.

It was 30minutes later when she got that feeling of another battle coming her way.

It was Siera, with a gun in her bag, she was going to end things today. Once she kills him with this silencer, she would simply have his fingerprint without interruptions. She was at the door when she wore her gloves and stepped in.

"Jack?"

The creaking sound of the door and unusual calm breeze that washed on her got her thinking. What was going on? Is it Julie? It can't be, the old woman assured her that Julie wouldn't survive the whip, no ghost has ever survived it. So she waved the thoughts off and started towards Jack's room.

She could see him clearly, he laid on the bed, fast asleep. This was going to be Swift, she would be done before anyone noticed.

But the unexpected happened, her legs floated on air and before she could let out a scream she was smashed to the ceilings and paused halfway down, with blood dripping from her nostrils. she spotted Julie with red eyes.

"Hello Siera, ready for round two?"

The other side
Chapter 15
Day 13

Siera could only denote one thing. Julie had gotten to Jack. He could see her too; Or maybe she had bewitched him somehow. She had never witnessed Jack in such mood before. This was getting out of hand. She should have just gotten a gun and drove a bullet through his heart, when she had the chance.
Damn Julie! Anyway she was pretty sure that Julie wouldn't survive the hit, so the old woman she encountered had revealed.
It was change of plans now. Jack knows what she did already, there is no point playing nice anymore. She would take the war to him.
Jack was hell-bent on proving to Siera that he meant every word he said, he was going to cause havoc if he doesn't see Julie in 24hours.
He went to work the next day in a different mood. His subordinates and those above him did well to stay off his path. He was angry, 5% at Siera, 95% at himself. He was so unreasonable, she had been there for him, she literally saved him countless times. Siera would have succeeded without any interruption, but Julie had been a bulwark. And he turned his back on her when she needed help.
'But she caused your mother's death'
A part of his mind whispered. Suddenly he felt how stupid that reason appeared to be. There are other models he could have gone to, his opponent who won the contract didn't use an expensive model, he didn't trust his skills, he wanted to use her to make quick money, when he had little to offer. It wasn't her fault she rejected him, no one in her place would accept his proposal.
'She locked you up remember?'
That mind again.
'She called you trash'
It welled up in his head that he began to tighten his grip on his desk.
Williams, his colleague got scared at the sight.
"Hey bro? Are you OK?"
"I'm fine, mind your business"
It was a strict warning, and Williams was wise to obey.
"I love you"
Her words transcended and eventually surpassed every other thought. He couldn't shake it off...why did she say that? She said it to torment him or what?
"Ahhh!"
He made a burst and threw down the files piled up on his desk.
Williams whisked to the door for safety.
"You've gone crazy man"
He ignored and picked his car keys.
"Tell the boss I got sick"
"Certainly, you are sick...you are certainly sick"
He nudged Williams out of the way and zoomed off the premises.
He was meters to his house when favour appeared and sat by the passengers seat. He halted in shock and it took his manly skills to swerve and bring the car to balance.
"What the...? You fucking scared me!"
She waited till he was calm before she requested.
"Julie needs you"
"I was going to ask you where you took my Julie to"
"Your Julie?"
The sarcastic tone Favour used in her question made him stutter. What was he thinking when he said 'my Julie' she is a ghost for Christ sake.
"I..I..meant Ju..lie...My friend just get Julie here"
She nodded and took off. He sighed in relief and caught himself smiling. Julie was coming back.
He suddenly realised and cautioned himself.
"Why are you smiling?"
There was no one around to answer his question.
He got home and thought it wise to put his house in order. It didn't want Julie to meet his house messy.
"Why are you putting your apartment in order?"
He asked himself again.
"Jack would you stop asking yourself question!"
He yelled and held his head.
"Oh my God, I'm going crazy"
Viola! Favour appeared with Julie; he froze, she was all grey, veins strained to her eyes, the dark hole embedded in her chest had enlarged.
He attempted to reach for her when the house darkened, the lights went off, the chairs rend in two, an unusual wind settled in the apartment, Favour took off immediately.
The gatekeeper appeared next with her white cloak and horse whip, oozing with black smoke.
Jack froze with fear, he shook his head at the sight and muttered.
"My normal life is over"
