CHAPTER 14

Coco pushed Callis now but it was way too late. She froze in fear when she saw the rage on Davies face, it was like one she had never seen before. His hands were tightened to a fist, his eyes stone red.

"Davies, Davies it not what you think"

She stuttered out as he raged towards them in haste and landed his fist on Callis. Callis tried to retaliate when he equally gave Davies a push and a blow to his cheek. Davies wasn't moved, he was more firm and stable, he grabbed Callis by his neck and landed his fist against Callis lips; it bled out immediately. Coco was confused, she shouted on top of her voice and called for help.

"Help! Davies stop, you are going to kill him!"

She called when she saw Davies had pinned Callis to the floor, feeding the boy cheeks with his fist.

Jake was first to reach the scene, the girls followed and so did the maids.

"Davies!"

Jake called out and brought them apart.

"What the heck, what's going on here?"

Jake questioned at the sight of Callis bleeding lips.

"It's...it's...Callis, he tried to..."

Coco tried to explain herself, she tried to narrate what had transpired but Davies would not give her the chance.

"Coco! Upstair now!"

Davies ordered with red eyes, but she persisted when she continued.

"But Davies I..."
"I said upstairs now!"

His voice thundered and reverberated in echoes.

She shook in fear and hurried upstairs, she wasn't sure what happened next, the scene went quiet, even when she tried to eavesdrop, she heard nothing.

"Both of you, come with me"

Jake was the youngest but at that time, he had the say.

"You two, to your flat"

He ordered the girls and took his brothers to the bar beside the swimming pool.

"Callis spill"

Callis knew he did wrong, he didn't have anything to say in defense, all he could mutter was

"I did wrong"
"Yeah you did bastard"

Davies still raged but Jake was there to stop him from acting on it.

"What did you do?"

Jake continued.

"I emm, I kissed Coco"

He said as he tried to avoid Jake's eyes.

"You what? Damn bro, why? I thought we all agreed we would chill till after one month, you can't keep your thing in place? You bleeped up Bruh, big time"

Callis felt he was the victim, he needed to say something in defense, although he didn't mean it but he still needed to justify himself a little.

"Well it is not my fault she exposes herself with sultry clothes she puts on anytime she comes out...plus she kissed me back! So it means she wanted me too"

Davies initial calmed flame rekindle that it burned against his chest.

"She what?"

He questioned like he didn't understand what he heard.

"You saw it yourself Davies, she kissed me back, she only broke free when you called from behind her. Look am sorry for hitting on her but your girl isn't helping matters too, it's not entirely my fault"

Davies felt he was going to burst, he left both boys and raged upstairs to Coco.

***

Coco paced round the sitting room, she bit her fingers in fear for how Davies might react, would he listen to her? Would he listen to what she had to say? She froze when she heard his footsteps approaching the door, she swallowed hard and tried to control her breathing, she had to be composed while she explained.

Bam! Davies barged in and slammed the door behind him.

"Coco!"

He thundered even when she stood right before him.

"Davies please listen to me, I didn't kiss him, he kissed me..."

She didn't drop the word when he completed it

"And you kissed him back"
"What? No...I didn't, I was go to push him away from me..."
"But you didn't Coco, you kissed him back because you wanted to! That's the reason you dress half naked when you go out? Huh you bitch!"

She felt her adrenaline charge up at his accusations but she tried to calm herself, she understood he was angry, and the position from where he witnessed the scene, she was sure he must have thought she kissed Callis back.

"Davies I didn't kiss him back, he forced himself on me"

She said and felt it wasn't convincing enough, but hey, it was what happened, there was nothing else to say.

"Oh come on Coco"

He said with his hands on his forehead.

"He told me himself that you kissed him back because you are into him, stop denying it you slut!"
"What? I didn't... Wait you would believe him over me?"

She was getting confused with the situation that she felt she was going to cry.

"And who do you want me to believe? A slut over my brother? You said it yourself remember, that you love guys for the sex alone! You are nothing but a slut!"

That's it, she had it up to her breaking point, she thundered a slap across his cheek twice.

"Don't you ever call me a slut! You don't know what I've been through, you don't have a glimpse of what life can turn you into, what do you know? Huh?"

Tears began to drop from her eyes despite the fact that she tried to clean them off.

"Huh? What do you know when all you've had in life is a silver spoon on you table! I might have done a lot to survive on the streets, but I never for once, sold my dignity for money, so don't you dare call me a slut you bastard!"

Her voice became tearful now. She was trying to keep track of her own words, she didn't know if she made sense.

He didn't know what to feel, why who would this girl he just picked from nowhere have such an effect on him. Why is he this jealous that he feels the need to rend her apart.

"I don't want to see you Davies, get out!"

He chuckled in shock, she was asking him out of his own flat.

"Are you mad? I've you gone mad?"

He asked with red eyes but she wasn't move by it.

"Get out or I would leave this place"

She wiped her face and started towards the door when he didn't move.

"Coco come back here!"

He called but she payed a deaf ear until he ran and caught up with her. He pulled her to him and without thinking, he placed his lips on hers.

She pushed him from her lips and slapped him so hard that she felt the pain on her palm.

He wasn't going to stop, he drew her close again and forced his lips on her; he was angry and since he couldn't hit her, he had to let it out somehow, he was hard on her lips, tearing off the night gown she wore.

Pleasures began to grow hard until when she suddenly jerked him off, panting heavily.

"Davies stop"

He wouldn't listen, he felt she was a slut, she should enjoy kissing him just the way she kissed his brother! But it went overboard when she let out a sudden outburst.

"Felix stop! Please don't do this to me, please!"

He pulled away from her immediately.

She dropped to the floor, shivering uncontrollably.

"Felix please! Please, don't do this! Please i'm begging you! Don't do this to me!"

She screamed on top of her voice and began to convulse, her hands went cold, her eyes shut, she folded to herself and burned up.

"Coco!"

He shook in fear and picked her into his arms.

"Coco! No no no, Coco!"

He dug a pen and forced it into her mouth to keep her teeth apart.

Questions welled up in his mind. Was she going to die? No she can't die! What would he do if something happens to her? And who the hell is Felix?

LOVE IS A GAME
CHAPTER 13

"Sleep on the bed, I would sleep on the couch"

Coco felt she heard wrong.

"What?

He didn't look at her the second time, he disappeared into the bathroom to have his bath.

She wanted to take a peek but controlled her emotions and stayed put.

He was calm on the couch when she asked.

"Where is your mother? You've never talked about her, it's just your Father"

He was quiet, too quiet that she sat up to see if he was asleep already.

"Davies?"

He remained quiet that she felt she had overstepped her boundaries. She was going to lay back to bed quietly when he muttered.

"She died..." She sat up and pushed further

"How?"
"She was sick, I was too young, she bled to death one fateful day, I couldn't do anything, I was helpless, I was foolish, I screamed but no one was there to help"

She was pensive for a while, she understood now, she understood why he took care of her, he felt he would lose her just like he lost his mother, the sight of her blood must have triggered the memory.

"It's not your fault Davies..."
"Yes it was! I failed her! I watched her die in my hands, I was incapable, incompetent!"

She allowed him rant in pain while she walked round the room to find a violin.

"You play?"

She obstructed him, holding the violin with a smile on her face.

"Yes? My mother taught me"

She brought the violin and placed it in his hands.

"Ok play, let's remember mum together"

Reluctantly he accepted and touched the strings skillfully, she wasn't sure he would play well but he superceded her expectations and got her emotions heightened. She felt the perfect sound call out to her, she wasn't satisfied with staring from the little distance. She went over and sat with him, still trying to keep her emotions bottled up she placed both her hands in between her thigh.

It was too much, she knew she if he goes on like this, she won't be able to hold it back. She stopped him from playing and brought his head to her thigh.

"Mum has heard you, she is happy you can still play"

She said and soothed his hair and found herself sobbing softly.

"Thank you Coco, thank you"

She steadily placed his head on a pillow when he fell asleep and dropped on the bed to sleep.

She woke up the next morning to discover she was alone.

"Davies?"

She felt the spell must have fallen off, he might be back to the unreasonable Davies she knew. She put on a pyjamas and started downstairs.

"Davies?"
"Well hello beautiful"

She held her face with a digusted sigh when she noticed it was Callis with a bemusing gesture.

"Hey what's up"

She replied shabbily and walked past him to the kitchen. As expected he hurried after her and caught her by the waist. She struggled and released his grip.

"Stop it Callis, you got a wife right?"

She said and poured herself a glass of water.

"Come on Coco, stop proving stubborn, we both know you are one wild girl, you're good at this huh"

She forced a smile on her face and covered the distance between them. Slowly she reached for his lips and placed a finger on it.

"Yeah that's what I'm talking about girl"

He broadened with smiles and attempted to trail his hands down to her butt when she stopped him.

"Yes I am wild but boy, you will never get this girl, nice try tho"

She smacked his cheek a little and nudged him out of the way. He felt insulted, she was not going to get off the hook this time. He hurried after her and made her turn; he was quick to knock off her defenses and placed his lips on hers. She was going to push him away but the issue was Davies walked in to see Callis kissing Coco.

"Coco!"

He thundered from behind her.

LOVE IS A GAME
CHAPTER 12

"What?"

Davies froze in shock, he was a little confused on what to do, he sat puzzled for a while, staring at Coco's perplexed face before he questioned in a whisper."What do we do now?"
Coco was a little surprised at his calm reaction, she was expecting him to spite and totally embarrass her, like that's how he is, the devil with no feelings.
"I really don't know, I can't stand now because my gown is all white, the crowd would surely notice"
She couldn't tell what he had in mind, but his expression was full of concern. For a moment there she felt he had gone mute on the issue but he surprised her and took off his suit Jacket.
"Tie this around your waist"
He instructed and got a little distracted with the voice that rang from the podium. It was a middle aged woman on a dinner gown, they didn't need a soothsayer to reveal she was the host of the party.
Her words went inaudible to Davies troubled mind, he was certain she had the Jacket tied around her waist to cover the back of her gown and shield the stained part before he stood up and picked her into his arms.
"Awwnn"
The white lady at the next table was first to notice and flushed at the romantic scene, or so it seemed. It didn't take another minute to get the attention of the crowd, the cameras and the media. This is Davies King with a girl in his arms, it was a worthy news to spread across the big city. All attention was stolen from the podium and got fixed on him as he took his step gently out of the Hall.
"Is that our brother with Coco in his arms?"
Jake asked, he was flabbergasted at the sight.
"Unbelievable"
Callis said next.
Davies ignored the crowd, he was fixed on Coco.
"Are you feeling dizzy?"
She shook her head, her lips were sealed, she didn't want to make any comment that cause the spell to wear off, she was certain a spell might have come on Davies, because she didn't believe this was the Davies she knew.
The crowd followed out to the car, he gently placed her inside and zoomed off.
"Are you ok?"
He kept asking till she got fed up and had to speak up.
"Davies I am not going to die, this is normal, it happens, I am a woman remember?"
He was quiet and concentrated on the car steering. Instantly she felt she had said too much.
"I didn't mean to..."
"Its ok, you didn't say anything wrong, this is normal, I shouldn't over react"
He stopped the car before she replied.
"Ok, emm..."
He didn't give her the chance to reply when he stepped out of the car. She tried to call out to him but later realised he was heading for a chemist shop.
"Are you serious?"
She questioned, she couldn't stop the smile that graced her lips; he returned with a sanitary pad and some drugs.
"God this is so embarrassing"
She couldn't help herself, she covered her face with her palm, she didn't want to look at his face.
"It shouldn't be, I am your husband remember? This is part of my responsibility"
She dropped her hands to look for sincerity in his expression and she found it.
"Thank you Davies"
He didn't reply her, she felt it was weird but didn't say anything else.
They got to the mansion and Davies was there again to pick her into his arms.
"Davies I can walk..."
"Would you please shut up?"
"Sorry"
She apologized and swallowed a lump of saliva down her throat. She felt a little uncomfortable with his calm attitude. This wasn't the Davies she was used to, she found it hard to believe, maybe he his trying to act like he really cares.
"Hold on, I'll take your clothes off"
"What? No, I can do that myself, my hands are not withered"
She shot back instantly, where was he going with this? He wants to see her naked?
"I insist, I am your husband Coco, I have the right to see you naked"
He took a bold step and brought down the zipper to reveal her body to the dimple at her butt.
"Davies stop, I can..."
Her gown was all down before she uttered the next word.
She tried to keep the bra she had on, he was heading towards her and she didn't like the fear that caused her heart to pounce hard.
"Davies..."
He caught her and picked her into his arms, pulling off her bra and pant he picked her up and placed her in the bathtub, got the soap and ordered her to remain calm.
"I am your husband Coco"
He said as he soothed her skin with the soap and warm water.
"You belong to me"
She couldn't tell what she felt at that moment but she was sure of one thing, her heart melted, her defenses crumbled, she tried to caution herself, she knew if he goes on like this, he might actually win this game, she might foolishly fall for him. She can't let that happen, she must not.

LOVE IS A GAME
CHAPTER 11

Coco took a while to inhale deeply before she pushed the door to meet Davies glued to the TV set. She knew he could see her and it didn't take long before asked.

"What did he tell you?"
"Relax, he beckoned I submit to you. And I think I would do just that, I would drop my ego and yield"

Davies couldn't hide the smirk that graced his face, he stood to face Coco humbled expression and then turning away he replied

"Yea you should bitch"

She shut her eyes and sighed to calm the adrenaline that tried to burn.

"You just wait bastard, I would break your wings"

She muttered through her clenched teeth.

***

It been three days now and Coco has been in her best behaviour, she tried to condole Davies nasty attitude and she was getting tired of sleeping on the couch, she desired the massive bed but Davies wouldn't let her. Davies was growing suspicious of her sudden calm approach towards him. He wouldn't let her out of his sight, he wouldn't let her mingle with his brothers, he was was so possessive that she was growing fed up. This wasn't working, Davies wouldn't fall for her if he can dominate and use her anyhow he pleases. No, he won't have his way.

"I am going downstairs Davies, it's been three days, if I can't talk to your brothers then at least let me talk to the ladies, I see them at the garden, the swimming pool, oh and at that bar that looks like a mini club house"

She was pointing at all she could see through the window pane.

"But I don't get to enjoy all these because you cook me up here!"

He attempted to say something but Coco would not give him the chance to, she knew it would be some authoritative command to stay put.
"No Davies, keep that to yourself, I am going down to get a glass of water"

She was close to the door so before he said anything else, she was three step downstairs.

She took to the massive kitchen and got a glass of water for herself, she was on the third sip when she noticed Callis standing beside the refrigerator.

"So finally, she decides to show herself to the world, we were never going to eat you Coco, please come out of your little shell more often"

Coco didn't want to jump into conclusions but she was certain his eyes were on her butt. She wouldn't blame him for staring, her night gown was susceptible enough to reveal her silk bom-short, plus she was braless. Her hips and slender figure wasn't helping matters as well.

"I would if you take your eyes off my ass"

She was direct and winked at him to prove she caught him.

"Or my bad, I wasn't smart enough"

He uttered next and started towards her seductively.

She allowed him cover the distance between them, she didn't stop him when he wrapped his hands around her waist, neither did she stop him when he drew her close to meet his chest.

"Well like I said when we first met, don't you think we are meant to be?"

He giggled out and bent to touch her lips, he was a breathe away when she placed the tumbler before his lips.

"Not so fast pretty boy"

She released his grip on her waist now and cupped his cheek.

"I am not one of your fancy girls, nice try though, I appreciate the effort"

He was speechless as she started upstairs.

"Now this has gotten a little interesting, no one refuses Callis, I would get you girl, I must"

Instantly he resolved to have her no matter what it takes, he loved the challenge, he just has to play his game well.

***

"Father wants us to attend a dinner party, I just received the text now, get ready"

Davies was all dressed in his single-brest suit when she entered, she was expecting him to lash at her the moment she entered but he seemed distracted.

She sighed in relief and started for the bathroom when he called.

"And don't think I forgot what you did"

She froze and turned immediately to defend herself but he was quick to hush her.

"Please Coco don't start, go get ready, when we are back home we would talk about this"

She shrugged at the idea and took a while to appear her best. Her stiletto heels fitted her backless white gown perfectly. The gown was a little fitted so it wasn't hard to notice her figure.

"It's just us?"

She asked when she came out to meet with Davies. She caught him staring but decided to pretend like she didn't.

"On the contrary, we are the one delaying the others, they are downstairs waiting"
"Oh alright, let's hurry then, hold my hands"

Surprisingly he didn't refuse and she was glad for that.

"Oh my God, guess who it is? The goddess of beauty"

It was Jake smiling broadly, Coco took a quick glance at Davies, he didn't look quite happy at Jake's compliment, she didn't care anyway, neither could she stop the colour that rose to her cheek.

There were two cars in place and for a minute there they contemplated on which car to use. Coco had an idea, she needed to speak with the girls and this was a perfect opportunity.

"Ok I think the girls should ride in one and the boys the other, it's classic"

They all bought the idea, each group had a lot to discuss.

***

"Davies I have a new found interest in your chick"

Callis was first to speak up, his words met Davies hardened face.

"You better back off, she is mine"

Jake laughed at the scene, Callis was actually the son that took after his father.

"You would never change brother"

Callis ignored Jake and pushed on.

"Ok, after the one month deal, we would all get a divorce right? Can I have her after that?"

It took a while but finally Davies grumpily agreed to it.

***

"Coco right? You look like the proud one, you don't roll with the girls, maybe we stink"

Valerie, Callis' wife spoke out first. Stacy didn't go well with her assumption, she hushed and defended Coco.

"Come on Valerie, we should hear from her first"

Both eyes turned to Coco who cleared her throat and replied

"Ok we all know these boys are bastards right?"

Without hesitation they all agreed with a quick nod.

"Mine is kinda cool, I think he is scared of me, Jake barely talks to me, infact I sleep alone on the bed, he sleeps on the couch, like who does that?"

Stacy spoke out and got Coco eyes wide open.

"Oh my...if only we could swap...mine is a total bastard, I sleep on the couch, he is so possessive and controlling, he is the reason I don't come out of the flat, I don't even know what to do with him"

Coco lamented and got Valerie laughing

"What's funny?"

Stacy asked and got a reply

"Mine is a sex freak, would you believe we've had sex more than ten times in just three days?"

Both Coco and Stacy gasped in unison.

"Are you serious? Mine is just twice and it was all me because the guy is so damn irresistible, I couldn't help it, i had to seduce him"

Coco felt left out, she wasn't sure Davies would even look at her twice.

"The only kiss I got is on our wedding day, the guys is a stone, am not sure he has got human feelings"

Coco couldn't stop the girls from laughing at her outburst, she waited till they were done before she asked.

"How are we going to make these boys fall for us? No offense but yours is a scared cat..."

She pointed to Stacy

"And yours a flirt"

She turned to Valerie who nodded in response

"And mine, what would I say now, a stone? A bastard, a freak? He is just bad news, so hard headed, stony heart, unreasonable..."
"Coco can we move on? We've heard enough, yeah Davies is the bad one"

Stacy had to butt in.

"Yeah I just wanted to really explain how evil that guy is, like how can I get someone as stony as that to fall?"

It was a good question and she made sense.

"And how i can i get Jake to fall for me too? It's like he is in prison and can't wait to get out"

Stacy seconded.

"And mine is a flirt, he won't settle for one woman"

The car stopped and interrupted them. The flickering lights reflecting on the car was proof that they had gotten to the destination.

***

"we can bail from here man, we don't have to go back to the mansion"

Jake suggested as they stepped out and started towards their wives.

"Forget it bro, dad would cut your allowances"

Davies smacked reality to his face.

The party was a quiet one, each couple took to a table. They were expecting to see Jonas but he was not present; it was quite a relief to the boys.

"Coco, what's wrong?"

They were ten minutes in the party when Davies perceived she wasn't comfortable even when she tried to conceive it. She constantly swallowed hard as perspiration stood on her forehead.

Coco couldn't believe herself, she was sure she calculated this monthly visitor to visit the next week, or she calculated wrong? God why? Not when she is on a white gown, plus they were at the VIP seat in front. Why does this have to happen now? Why now? She held her forehead and forced the words out in a whisper

"Davies...it's...it's my menstrual  cycle, I'm all wet with blood"

LOVE IS A GAME
CHAPTER 10

Coco was strangely quiet and Davies didn't bother to ask why. The journey to the mansion was a quiet one, no jokes, no talks, just the breeze that blew against their skin.

Coco was going to trail off to sleep but Davies nudge her gently

"We are here"

Coco had fathomed the mansion would be something she had seen before, it wouldn't be anything new. But then, her eyes glowed as she gasped at the sight of the mansion. It was three duplex in one, likened to a castle.

"And when I thought I had seen it all"

Coco muttered and got distracted when Davies called.

"Come"

He extended his right hand to her. She stood in thoughts, she didn't want to get too attached to this man, he didn't look fit for the game.

"I can walk on my own"

She resisted and took front...she was stylishly looking for an angry or jealous expression but he was blank and he cut short her expectations when he nudge her out of the way with an uninteresting gesture.

"Suit yourself, you should be lucky you even get to touch my hands"

He stood halfway and turned to see her lingering behind.

"Hurry, I hate sluggish girls"

She simply ignored, the high heels she wore was beginning to hurt her. She had it on for too long.

Davies got to the gigantic door and made a clap with his hands. Coco witnessed the door gave way at the sound. Her lips gave way for an inaudible "wow"
"Take this way up to our flat, the first door by the right, I will join you afterwards"

Davies instructed and watched her struggle with her gown and the high heels.

She got to a limit and thought it wise to pull off her heels. She knew Davies was watching but she didn't care now, her poor legs were of utmost importance.

She got to the door, whisked past the well-furnished sitting room and sank into the bathing tub.

The thoughts of what Davies had put her through that day washed through her mind.

"Bastard"

It escaped her lips but she didn't regret it. Quickly she reached for her bag and dug out a cigarette, she felt the need to take a stick or two.

Unfortunately, it didn't go well with Davies.

"What the hell! You smoke?"

He met her seated in the sitting room with the cigarette in between her fingers.

"What? You've not seen a woman smoke before?"

She replied although she was a little scared at Davies expression, his eyes were strangely narrowed with wrath.

"I won't talk about this again, put that thing off. And if I see you smoke again, I would cancel the deal"

She still had the cigarette lighter in her hands when she rolled her eyes in weariness.

"I won't ask where you learnt how to smoke, I know Edward would pop up as usual"

Davies continues as he let down his suit to reveal his bare chest. His thick arms and broad chest were not something she could ignore. Her eyes stared him down to the hair carved perfectly below his navel. She adjusted her sitting position and with a mild cough she tried to keep her voice in its normal pace when she replied.

"Yeah, Edward would pop up, so don't just start"

He started for the bath tub without saying anything else.

Minutes later he was on the bed and Coco was about to join him when he suddenly questioned

"What are you doing?"

She appeared shocked and a little confused.

"What do you mean?"

He sat up and questioned directly now.

"What are you doing on my bed?"

She understood now.

"Wait, I shouldn't sleep now?"

"I didn't say that, there is a blanket in the wardrobe, take it and sleep on the sofa"

He pointed to the sofa at the far end of the bed.

"I didn't pay you to sleep on my bed"

She shut her eyes and swallowed hard. She didn't understand the guy. Few hours back he treated like his woman and admitted he was jealous, but now he treated her like thrash.

She took to the wardrobe and pretended she fell to get his attention, sadly he remained unmoved.

***

Jake saw reasons with what Davies had said, although Callis didn't go well with it. Davies had called for both of them as soon as they entered the Mansion.

"Listen these girls are tools...a means to an end. What we would do is abandon them till the one month is over"

Davies had suggested.

"How do we do that?"

Callis questioned with folded hands.

"Listen we've all got some work to do right?"

Both callis and Jake looked to each other with their cornered eyes. They felt Davies had forgotten one important detail, so Jake decided to remind him.

"Emm Davies, we have nothing to do remember? Our inheritance is the only thing that would get us busy"

Davies knew that fact.

"I was talking about clubbing and the other funky stuffs man"

Callis frowned instantly.

"Forget it, it won't work, just enjoy these girls till the time elapse and try not to fall for them, father put us in this cage with them for a reason, make sure he doesn't realize it"

Callis had said it all but Jake resolved to try Davies suggestion, he missed the club anyway.

"Jake?"

It was his supposed wife.

"You won't come to bed?"

Jake didn't give her a second look when he replied.

"No"

***

Coco opened her eyes the next morning on hearing Jake's voice reverberating from downstairs.

"How can the stupid security keep us here like prisoners! We are not permitted to go out of the house until Father permits it? What nonsense!"

Coco attempted to flit to see but Davies was there to interrupt. He whisked out of the bathroom with his shaving stick in his hands.

"Go back to sleep, this is family, it's none of your business, don't forget what I paid you for, I didn't pay you to pry into matters that doesn't concern you. Mind your business"

He spurned and lashed on her with his harsh words again. Coco sighed and smiled within her. She was a little surprised with the way she swallowed all Davies craggy attitude. Although, she wouldn't ignore the fact that she had an impending rush of adrenaline burning inside her, ready to burst.

Within minutes the noise died down, she tried to eavesdrop but Davies had shut the door and all she could hear were whispers.

She heard his footsteps approaching the door, so she quickly withdrew but it was too late, he caught her.

"You peasant! What did you hear?"

She ignored and started towards the mini wine bar. He felt Insulted, she shouldn't walk out on him, she should answer his question when he demands it.

"I asked a question!"

He scooted towards her and grabbed her arm.

"Nothing Davies"
"You better not"

She didn't know when her subconsciousness denied her desire to keep calm; she fired back instantly.

"Or what? Huh...what? You would do what!"

Davies wasn't surprised with her outburst, he was actually expecting her to let it out sooner or later.

"Coco control your words, remember I paid..."
"Or spare me that thrash! Who do you think you are? You are nothing without your father's wealth, are you not ashamed of yourself? Work with your hands lazy oaf"

Davies eyes went red with wrath. He grabbed her waist when she tried to move and made her turn to face him. His hands went up in the air but paused when Coco doubled her pace and stood even closer to him.

"Don't you dare"

"You forget your place bitch, you forget you are nothing but a tool I would dump like trash once I am done"

She wasn't sure what she felt but she was going to prove to this arrogant man that she can't and won't be treated like thrash. She moved even closer until she could feel his breathe on her lips, he didn't move an inch, her guess was he felt he was prepared for whatever she had in mind.

Her mouth opened but the knock on the door interrupted.

"Is everything alright sir?"

It was one of the maids and simultaneously they lashed at her.

"Get out!"

The maid was scared that she initially forgot the message she wanted to pass across.

"Chief is here"

Davies understood that it was Jonas.

"Tell him I would be with him shortly"
"He doesn't want to see you sir, it's Coco"

Coco gave Davies that taunting smile when she noticed the frown on his face.

"So much for family business don't you agree"

She said and laughed out loud, of course she did so on purpose.

Davies expression tightened as he watched her leave his sight. There was no woman he couldn't control, but this one is something else.

Jonas was in a hurry and his body language proved it. He took Coco to the car in wait and cleared his throat to speak up in haste.

"Listen I have spoken to both Jake and Callis' wife, i know my sons tried to fake the marriage, so I am going to beg you for one thing, please ensure this marriage lasts more than a month"

Coco frowned, this was impossible, how can she survive that arrogant man for more than a month? She might innocently murder him.

"What do you mean sir?"

She acted like she didn't understand his point.

"Listen I would take care of your entire family and grant you money beyond your expectations, I would grant you anything you wish, just keep this marriage for me, please I am begging... If you can't keep it then give me grandchildren"

Coco felt this was ridiculous, it was indeed getting out of hand, this was not what she bargained for.

"Sir I..."
"Coco please, I have less than six months to live, I want my sons to experience love, even if it's just for six months"

She tamed the frown on her face and went pensive for a while before she replied.

"Sir, it's going to be difficult, I am not the marriage person, but I can make Davies fall for me, after six months the deal would be off"

Jonas had another agenda but he was willing to start with this one.

"Yeah, make him fall for you, I would fund all your needs"

While walking back to the flat, she couldn't help but give way for the smile that graced her lips.

Jonas has changed the game play. Now she would change the rules, Davies treats her like thrash, like a tool. Now she was going to make him fall no matter what it takes, and then she would dump him afterwards. He thinks she is some tool, he thinks she is nothing but thrash, well she would make him feel loved and important and then dump and treat like he was a tool to get her pay, that's the true meaning of thrash

LOVE IS A GAME

CHAPTER 9

Coco wasn't sure if moody Davies would be a good dance partner, but she was willing to give it a try anyway. She noticed Jonas in the company of the booties, the man was an obvious flirt, no doubt in that.
One minute she wished Davies would have no trait of the old man, but the next minute she waved it off, it's no business of hers.
"Alright Dave, show me what..."
He was quick to interject as he held her waist with his right hand and made her turn in rhythm to the beat.
"Hmm, impressive, I..."
He Interjected again as he drew her to meet his grion, his other hand trailed down her gown to the dimples above her butt.
"You talk too much"
His words were supposed to spurn her but she strangely felt intrigued.
He lead with the first step, nudging her to flow; there he goes again, bossing her even on a dance floor...
He made her turn and picked her one footed high heels with his thigh, holding her thigh over his as he made her throw her head backwards.
His stability was arousing, his breathe trailed from her neck down to the line between her breast, she took a deep sigh, her silk stilettos gown served as a mild protection.
She brushed her hands through his hair and got his jaw hardened, eyes narrowed to convey the buried message they both had within.
"Where did you learn to dance like this? In Nigeria all they do is shake the booty"
Davies muttered a breathe away from her lips.
"I didn't just grow in the streets, Edward taught me all..."
"There you go with this Edward again, you know I'm beginning to think he would be a problem"
Davies interrupted as he picked her right leg to wrap it around his waist, his hands trailing from her ankle up to her thigh.
She suppressed the moan bubbling inside her and choked the words out.
"He...he is dead Davies, dead"
She felt she should warn against his unassuming jealous trait, but she instantly felt she would be jumping into conclusion.
"Ahh, emm, don't you think you hands are going way too far?"
She questioned his hands sliding underneath her gown.
"What? You scared?"
"I am"
He chuckled now but she countered it when she completed her sentence.
"Don't flatter yourself, I am scared for you...you are heading for a poisoned Apple"
He laughed mildly now, he just loved her guts. There was no need to reply her words, he had another task at hand, he observed the music heading for climax and to surpass the others on the dance floor, he swayed Coco against her wish and caught her in a jiffy.
They stood breathless for a minute when the music died down. She didn't feel the need to comment on his skills, she felt he would feel to big. The guy is too full of himself, it was an obvious habit, another reason why she hates his guts.
"Dad wants to see us"
She scoffed in resistance and was going to spurn his request when she noticed the old man waving at them. She shot him a deep look till he replied with that not-my-fault gesture.
"Keep doing this shit, it juices up my pay anyway. And I've not received an alert for the one month deal"
Davies wrapped her hands around his before he countered her request.
"Oh please, you are talking to a billionaire, I can buy your entire generation, don't plague me with peanuts"
Oh she shut her eyes in a pending adrenaline, she began to imagine how she would go through a full month without leaving at least a slap or two against his fine cheek
Coco tried to be tactical as she feigned a proper cat-walk while going towards the stylish old man. She didn't want to look absurd and local. And also a part of her wished the devil with her wouldn't notice. But as devilishly as he can be, he noticed and made a slight chuckle with a mocking tone.
"Stop feigning that shit, it doesn't suit you, walk well"
Coco clenched her teeth and tightened her grip on his arm like it was supposed to hurt him.
"For once Davies..." She said
"For once try to be nice"
The volume of her voice was a little inaudible but he heard her.

Jonas beamed with smiles when they both stood before him. Davies found it ridiculous as he rolled his eyes, Coco found it awkward as she feigned a smile.
"Alright off you go"
Jonas bade the strippers and focused on the couple before him.
"Coco, before I say anything, I want you to know that my son is a chronic bastard"
It didn't take another milliseconds for Coco to chuckle at his words and nod in response. She let out a satisfactory gasp and was probably too excited to mutter.
"Finally, someone agrees with me on that one"
She realised herself and apologized, she couldn't tell what Jonas had in mind, his expression was blank. And for Davies, well she ignored his stare, she fathomed it wouldn't be good.
"No need for that pretty, infact I was intrigued, you are one pretty girl"
Davies was quick to roll his eyes when he noticed the color that rose to Coco's cheek. She smiled broadly and offered a slight bow with a mild response
"Thank you sir"
Davies couldn't believe his father was already flirting with his wife, he cleared his throat to remind them of his presence and adjusted his sleeves button to act like he wasn't interrupting.
"So yeah what was I saying?"
Jonas got Davies signal and trailed back to purpose.
"About Davies being a..."
Coco held a pause, she didn't know how best to present the words without sounding rude...
"oh that"
Jonas helped her out and she was grateful for that.
"But, he is a nice man, if you get to know him"
Jonas completed his sentence, one Coco didn't really digest well.
She looked to Davies to see a taunting smile to the corner of his lips.
'He must be feeling big now'
She thought and hastily replied Jonas before he noticed she was stalling her positive response to his words...
"Of course he is sir"
"Well alright, enjoy your marriage, I'll be expecting grandchildren soon"
Coco couldn't hold it in, it sounded so ridiculous that she burst out laughing, one stare at Davies while Jonas said that out loud triggered the alarm. Davies rolled his eyes and was quick to respond.
"Oh father please"
Coco held her mouth from ruining all the formality she has tried to put up.
"Well of course sir, I'll get you a girl"
Jonas was glad to hear that.
"Well then, enjoy"
He turned to Davies and handed him the keys.
"Here is your key to the mansion, your brothers are there waiting"
Davies clumped the keys and took Coco by her arm to hastily walk her out when she lingered.
"You talk too much"
Minutes ago when he said that, it sounded romantic, but now she felt like smacking his eyeballs.
"What do you mean? I didn't say much, your Father did the talking"
She fired back and was quick to dodge an incoming drunk.
"Well you were good at piloting the laughing part" he said
"Nonsense"
She giggled now.
"Well it wasn't my fault that..."
"Coco get in the car"
He interrupted her with another signal that she talks too much...
'Oh God help me to go through the rest of this night without pulling a tooth if this bastard's mouth'
She thought and strapped on her seat belt as instructed.
"Wait are you jealous?"
She had to ask, she noticed he wasn't always comfortable when she stood or talk with the opposite sex.
"Yes I am, you belong to me"
She was a little shocked at his response, her thought was he would try to deny it.
"Are you serious Davies? This is a game remember? I am free to date anyone I want to, this ends in a month, you don't have any right over me"
He ignited the engine and was stern in his response.
"You belong to me as long as you have my ring on your finger. Yes! I am always jealous when you talk to another man, especially my family. You try your best not to make me jealous huh?"
Coco had nothing else to say, but one thing was clear, things were getting out of hand and then a question popped her mind, is this still a game?

LOVE IS A GAME
CHAPTER 8

Davies was observably trying to tame her; her voice reverberated that he feared every passerby would want to pry to perceive just what was going on.
He clenched his teeth, a little confused but he was hell-bent on getting what was rightfully his.
"Listen, you've come this far and you just have to keep it this way..."
He made a pause to notice both her hands on her waist, one look at her eyes twitching subconsciously denoted she had an outburst fuming inside her.
"And listen, don't feel too big cos I'm coming to you, you mean nothing to me, this is just business, if you won't do it then tell me, I'll look for someone else, it's that easy!"
He was obviously trying to tame the anger he felt at the whole situation.
"Wait, you wanna treat me like trash huh? Huh?"
She walked towards him and knocked off both hands hanging on his waist.
Instantly he knew this girl would be trouble...
"Well look for someone else, I'm not fucking Interested ok...am not!"
He held her back, red faced, narrowed eyes, lips drawn, veins protruding.
She released her hands from his grip and took a step back in shock. His voice was so loud, so thunderous, that she couldn't concentrate on what he had said, only the tone in which he had said it. He had become a whole different person. His shining, gold eyes had twisted into a dark and gloomy black. His eyes narrowed and his teeth clenched together. His hands fisted in rage.
"Listen! I would not lose my entitlement because of your stupidity!"
She wasn't going to submit to this rude man, but she was careful not to talk back now, his rage was something else.
"Ok chill, and be polite else I'm not promising anything"
She watched his hardened expression dissolve to a sigh of relief before he nodded and muttered.
"Please"

"Now that's the spirit man...that's it"
She was going to nudge him playfully but he was quick to avoid her.
He was at the door when he requested.
"Change into the stilettos gown, we are going downstairs, Dad insisted we have a dance"
She hated the fact that he was bossy, he virtually forced his will on her and oh she hated him for that.
"Davies I'm tired, how about tomorrow?"
"Not an option"
He was out and the next minute he beeped her cell phone to hasten her.
She knew her makeup went all wrong, she was too tired to place the right touch, she didn't care anyway. One minute she felt she would look like an infidel in presence of the others, they were all astonishingly handsome and pretty diversely. But the moment she stepped out, Jake was first to exclaim that his wife (Stacy) frowned at it.
"Oh well, well, well, what do we have here? the perfect beauty"
She couldn't tell if he meant what he said but she couldn't stop the colour that rose to her cheek.
"Come on now, hold my hands, I'll help you down"
He met her by the staircase; Davies was not going to let his flirty brother have his way with Coco, he whisked and took front.
"Hands off brother, you've got your wife"
Coco couldn't tell what he meant with his sudden appearance that denoted a trait of jealousy, she didn't want to consummate either.
Stacy was a little glad for Davies' intervention, she extended her hands to her husband but he wouldn't take it.
He turned to Coco instead and voiced with a smirk.
"Coco don't be fooled with his cute face, my brother has no human feelings, he'll break you, he'll tear out your fragile heart"
He was being humorous but Davies didn't find it funny, his narrowed eyes did the magic and Jake was quick to excuse himself.
He looked to Coco, trying to ascertain if Jake's words got to her, she was blank and appeared like she had nothing to say.
He took her hands and led her to the dancehall, she could notice the flickering lights from a distance, instantly she felt the fatigue ooze out of her system, she was so in for this. Davies held her back when she attempted to whisk in to the hall, he felt the need to clear the air when she wasn't saying anything.
"About what Jake said..."
She was quick to Interject, first with a chuckle and next with an uninteresting gesture. She felt he must be feeling too important so she had to smack reality to his face.
"Don't worry Davies, I'll keep my end of the bargain, but don't fall for me pretty boy, you'll only hurt yourself. Remember, this is just a game"

LOVE IS A GAME

CHAPTER 7

It's gonna be one massive wedding ceremony boys, the talk of the city, my boys would be getting married on the same day"

Jonas said with a smile to the corner of his lips.

"What? Dad, we got our wives already...we can't get married to more than one wife, for God sake dad read your Bible"

Jake chipped in, hoping he still had their cover intact. Jonas had called up his three sons, after meeting with each of their wives, on the same day. He was quite amazed on how his boys were quick to think they could maneuver their way around what he wanted.

"Of course i do read my Bible"

His sons scoffed in unison at his words.

"Really I do, it says one wife"

Callis butt in with a sigh now...

"Yes dad, one wife... And we're married already"

Jonas laughed again, and this time, he kept them wondering where they went wrong, the plan was too perfect...unless someone must have blown their cover.

"You know you boys don't love your Father...I didn't get to witness your wedding ceremonies...how thoughtful of you boys"

"Dad, you are always busy"

Davies said shrewdly, and made a gesture to his brothers to back him up.

"Yes dad, busy with you know...work, the chicks and all that"

Jake followed.

"Especially the chick part dad. You're always busy"

Callis topped it up and prompted Jonas to his final decision.

"Good, but if you want your inheritance, you would get married before me, this week, or lose everything"

They knew their father, his word stands no matter what, this means trouble for them.

"If you would excuse me, I have a meeting to attend"

He left them and gave way for a impending silence for sometime before Jake spoke up.

"We should try and convince dad, he would come around"

He said, although he knew it was nearly impossible to convince the hard-headed man.

"Bro you know that's bullshit. He didn't fall for our cons...we have to think of something else"

Callis Interjected and stood up to pace.

"We would have to get married for real"

Davies was absolutely right but his brothers were not getting the thrill.

"Are you fucking serious? Man I'm not ready for some prison man...I gotta go clubbing, the chicks...come on man...Just kill me then"

Jake was first to blurt out.

"Seriously bro, marriage? That's hell to my whole existence.. Damn it...I'm not sure the blonde wouldn't agree to that...I already paid her off"

Callis said being thoughtful.

"Well you would have to get her back and strike a new deal with her, we can always get a divorce right...? listen, once we get our inheritance, we divorce the chicks...simple logic"

Davies made perfect sense.

"Hmmm, ok then"

And just as presumed, it was the talk of the town. The ceremony was all over the Internet, across the nation and beyond. The sons of Jonas King, a multi billionaire, getting married on the same day.

Coco had prayed countless times, she forgets to pray most times but whenever she needed something, she'd first pray for forgiveness.

"Dear Lord, I've not been praying, please forgive me...please Lord, don't see this like I just want to request something from you, in fact, I promise to always pray from now on...

Dear Lord, please, I am getting married, my humble prayer is that this marriage ends in a week. Lord, any plans of the devil to elongate this marriage is cancelled in Jesus name"

Well she forgot to pray again...and when it came to her noticed she bit her fingers.

"Shit, Lord, I forgot...please don't..."

"Coco, please would you stop mumbling and twitching your eyes? I'm trying to make you up"

It was the paid make up artist. Rumor had it that she was the best at the job. Although coco had initially doubted this but the moment she was true, Coco glanced at the mirror and asked in shock

"Is this me?"

Coco couldn't believe the sight...she was actually getting married, she laughed, frown and cried at some point...she laughed because she achieved a dream of age 35 at 24...not that she had marriage in her dictionary. She loved her freedom. She frowned when she imagined she would have to forbear Davies rude and unreasonable attitude for another one week. She cried when she remembered her parents, if only they were alive to see her this beautiful and getting married to the son of a multi billionaire...

"You may now kiss the bride"

In unison the three boys barely touched their woman's lips...the priest made an attempt to go on but Jonas wasn't satisfied.

He took front and questioned the crowd, with the mic well audible to portray his voice.

"Is that even a kiss? Kiss, kiss, kiss"

The crowd followed suit and roared with the word.

"Oh what the hell"

Davies exasperated in disgust.

"Hey, I brushed my teeth this morning... Can you get on with it?"

Coco questioned when she observed Jake and callis had gone to business.

"Don't take this personal, remember it's still business...I can't have...."

"Oh for the love of God Davies, kiss me already"

She cut him shut when she interrupted and got his lips on hers.

She didn't mean to, but she had to admit, he was a good kisser...and his soft, full lips were working magic...he passionately teased her lips and unintentionally, her hormones began to respond...and when he pulled it off, she was tempted to ask.

"No sex right?"

She needed him to say it so her subconscious emotions would perceive the deal and obey.

"Dad? It's a done deal, we got married, can we have it now?"

The boys met after the ceremony and agreed to approach Jonas for the inheritance

"Oh, why the rush boys, I prepared a villa already, for you three, go have your honey moon first...and take note, no one leaves the villa till after 1month"

Davies couldn't believe what he heard.

"One month?!"

Coco got the news next, her eyes went wide.

"What the hell, wait it's one month now? What happened to one week?"

CHAPTER 6

8 HOURS EARLIER

Coco was getting stressed with Davies adventures. All her plans to lure him to her needs were totally fruitless.

He noticed she was stressed out, but he didn't care, he was going to pay her a huge sum of money, so she we would definitely work for it.

"Alright, we are going to see my family now"
"Oh come on Davies, I just got to the country not up to 4hours, and you've been tossing me around, can we see your family tomorrow?"

Davies had booked a reservation in a five star hotel, one that would house Coco for a week. He needed things to be swiftly done, it has to be perfect, no mistakes.

"Drive us to the hotel"

Coco couldn't hide the enthusiasm that enriched her. She beamed with smiles and appreciated him.

"Thanks Davies, you the best!"

Unexpectedly, he spurned her new found Joy when he explained what he meant.

"You are going to the hotel to freshen up, so you can be presentable, you can't meet my brothers and certainly not my father in this bizarre state"

Her initial thrill zapped dry. She shut her eyes and took a deep breathe.

"Calm down Coco, Calm down...it's just business"

She needed to remind her subconscious mind, so it wouldn't impair her chance of hitting Nigeria with billions of naira.

She squealed at the sight of the five star hotel even before she alighted from the car.

"Somebody pinch me!"

And Davies did pinch her.

"Ouch!"
"What? You requested it, now come on"

She admired the counter with various receptionists. The white lady that attended to them was one whose beauty made her think God cheated her.

She was perfectly made, a blonde on a female suit jacket. Her accent was superfluous, well balanced and comforting.

"Hello good evening"

She greeted and instantly Coco fell in love.

"Oh my, are you for real?"
Coco watched as Davies interacted and got the key card.

"Have a nice stay sire, and you too madam"

Davies wouldn't let her take time to wear her make up.

"Would you hurry up, we don't have all day"

He said out loud, he wasn't ready to be delayed with her exuberant will to have the whole of Africa on her face.

"Hold on for Christ sake, I'm almost done"
"Well hurry up!"

She was out now, dressed in a dark peplum gown, an ankle booties and a stiletto Bag to match. Her hair were neatly pinned, she wore a red lips gloss, drew her eye lid perfectly well, with a little blush to fit.

He stood caught off guard for a minute or two.

"Well? What do you think?"

She wasn't too confident of her choice of cloths, and with her discovery that Davies was bad-mouthed, she wasn't expecting anything nice.
"Perfect, let's go"

He ignited her confidence and within a few minutes she stood in front of a mansion, almost like a castle.

"Wow this is huge"
"Come on".

Davies urged her, virtually connoting that her mouth agape and eyes wide open were totally inappropriate.

"My brothers are complete assholes, don't fall for their tricks"

He warned and led the way in.

"You welcome sire"

Another heavenly made white lady, she was a maid but didn't look like it.

Coco was amazed, in Nigeria it is way obvious to spot the maid in any house.

"Good evening madam"

Coco smiled and waved at her. She was perfectly sure that if she spend more than a week in this country, she might undermine her country's sacred rule and become a lesbian.

"Whoa, who is this chick?"

Jake was first to spot her.

He was better copy of Davies, far more handsome and cute. She was still a little shaky but he seemed cool.

"Hi, I'm Jake"

Callis appeared next. She couldn't help but gasp at the sight. She quickly drew Davies near before Callis got near.

"Davies, I just realized that you are far from handsome"

"Coco, concentrate, don't let them sway you"

He warned but she didn't pay attention.

"Hey chick, am callis...and you are?"
"Coco"

She shook his hands, oh his soft hands

"Coco, Callis, we're meant to be together don't you agree?" He teased with confidence, a smile at his cornered lips.

She flushed and felt colours rising to her cheek.

"Ok ok that's it boys, back off, that's my wife"
"Ahhhhh, wifey? Davies since when did you become a talented liar?"

Jake spurned his words with a sarcastic tone.

"I have a wife too, we both have got good wives you know"

Callis announced when he snapped and fingers, with two blondes following the tune.

"So you got an African chick, nice catch bro"

Jake said next as he threw his arms around his supposed wife.

"Listen, we all know these chicks are for business, so stick to the plan and don't us get exposed"

Davies pointed out and got the nods of his gang.

Coco couldn't believe these guys worked to deceive their father. It was none of her business anyway.

"Is father in?
"yeah, the dude is in, I think with a chick"

Davies didn't mind, he was going to see him anyway.

"Dad?"

Just as Jake revealed, he was well guarded with hot strippers. Davies couldn't imagine this man, the dude has got 6months to live and yet he couldn't stay off strippers?

"Dad, meet Coco, my wife"

Coco was a little timid, her smiles wouldn't hide that fact either.

"Hello...sir"

His age didn't hide the grey moustache that pegged in bits around his Jaw, his eyes, though dim, were cute and soulful.

And when he finally spoke out, Coco understood why the ladies are crazy about him. His voice was just as sexy as his masculinity.

"Why don't I get back to you Davies, let the lady have some rest, and you come back let's have a chit chat"

Coco digested his words like pizza. The sound of 'rest' calmed her nerves. It was the word she had desired it grace reality. And yes, it was before her. She winked at unpleased Davies and led the way out.

Now she was relaxed filled with pleasant imaginations on how to spend her money credited to her account when Davies brought the impossible before her.

"Listen"

He continued when her mouth stood agape with no words coming out.

"We just have to get married, we would get divorced afterwards...no strings attached, no sex either...are you in?"

Would she say she didn't take time to think it true before she replied.

"Alright I'm in"

LOVE IS A GAME
CHAPTER 5

Coco couldn't contain the Joy she felt, she fathomed of how her new life would be. She would want to scavenge the city, catch lots of fun and adventures, but Davies was a bulwark and he slashed her dreams when he said.

"You would do none of that, you are here for business and that's it"

She felt like rending his skin from his muscles. She took peeped out the car to view the lights and glory of the city, before she turned to him to let out her thoughts

"You are one cruel mister, ain't you?"

As usual, her question was left unanswered.

"You'd be needing some good cloths"

She alighted from the car and stood in front of the biggest boutique she had ever encountered.

"And?"

She made him stop when she folded her arms to explain that she was cold.

"And some thick jacket"

He spoke her mind, she chuckled in enthusiasm and held his arm.

"Hey, hands off"
"Come on, for Christ sake be a gentleman, how are we gonna act this marriage stuff, like how would we convince your Father that we are actually married if you are like this?"

He had wanted to counter her words, but it so appeared reasonable.

"Fine, but don't take advantage of it"
"Oh of course handsome"

He shot her that look of can-i-trust-you?.

"What? It's an harmless compliment, you're handsome right?"

Straightway, they headed into the boutique, Davies dropped his credit card at the reception and walked her down to the ladies unit.

"Go on, pick whatever you want"

For a normal girl, sure she would want to be considerate. Not for Coco, the sound of his words drove the last resort of tranquility she had, she dived into action and selected more than she could carry.

"Good, change these rags into one of what you've bought"

He steered a feeling of spite in her.

"Wait excuse me? You just called my clothes rag?"
She questioned, thanking God within her that their deal ends in just a week.

"Yeah, you've been thinking you were putting on clothes, grow up girl"

He turned to the sales rep, totally ignoring Coco when she shut her eyes, tightened her grip and sighed in exasperation.

"Get me a good wedding gown"

He instructed, and after a few hours of painstakingly surveying thru a good number, he finally settled for one and instructed Coco, who had been waiting impatiently, to try it on.

She tied her hair together and pinned it neatly. There was no make up to fit with the dress, but she was sure her cute face would do the job for her.

She was out for observation, though Davies didn't mean to, but the word

"Wow"

Escaped him subconsciously.

He realised himself and quickly made the correction.

"I mean...I mean, it's good"

He felt stupendously vulnerable at that Moment.

"Oh come on, say the word homie, I am beautiful. And yes, you got lost with just a stare"

The sales rep tailing then from behind was there to confirm Coco's words when she giggled and join in.

"Of a truth, she is beautiful sir"

Davies shot an inimical look at the sales rep that she had to apologize immediately.

"Am sorry sir"
"Alright, go change, Let's get to the studio"

He started out of the boutique the moment he dropped the word.

"Are you serious? When do I get to rest?"

She murmured and quickly joined him in the car.

"Hey Davies, how did you plan all these?"

She was flabbergasted at the sight.

He had paid people to pose as friends and eye witnesses to the wedding.

After the studio pictures he took her straight to the wedding hall he had prepared.

It was all according to plan.

And it was falling in place.

Until when the evening came and but his efforts to naught.

He threw the documents to the the floor the moment he entered the hotel room Coco resided.

"What?"

"My father discovered it was all fake, we would have to get married for real"

Chapter 4

Coco's life has been a total mess; one that she detest anytime she tries to think of it. Her parents had left her in the hands of her aunt when they both died in a plane crash.

No they weren't rich, don't  think that, infact they were poor but got lucky when her father won a jackpot of 12million naira bet. And a free flight to the united States of America.

Coco had insisted her dad travel with his wife, since it was strictly one passenger to tag along.

You know how the story ends...the plane crashed. The money claimed by her aunt.

She first met Jonah in frustration, her first love. Her aunt has made life unbearable that sometimes she was locked out of the house. Jonah helped and screwed her.

"Don't worry baby, I'll be gentle"

He reassured when he took her pride and dump her afterwards.

"I'm not feeling this shit anymore ok?"

That was his excuse.

Philip came next, screwed and blew the same reason to her face.

Edward was the one she'd never forget. He was the king of the streets, and even though it didn't work out when he lost his life to the streets, she never fail to thank him for teaching her on how to survive the streets.
"Hey"

Davies snapped and brought her back to the present.

"Marriage?"

She questioned hoarsely, the words just made meaning to her.

"Fake marriage Coco, keep your voice down"

It was a great relief, she sighed and crossed her legs.

"My father has 6months to live, he has been diagnosed with an incurable cancer..."

She made an attempt to show her sympathy, but he cut her shut, just to show that he didn't need it.

"He has refused to share the inheritance among his three sons, until we all present our wives to him. It was all a joke at first, but later on we discovered he was damn serious. And he was ready to give out all his assets to the public if we didn't comply"

He gulped a glass of water down his throat and Coco seized the opportunity to ask.
"Did he say why he wanted you all married?"

"He never got married, he had us from different mistresses"

"Oh" Coco nodded like she got his point.

"He must be some bad ass father"

Her words sounded funny to her, but Davies wasn't buying it.

"What? It's funny"

She chipped in before she asked another question.

"How did you get me a visa in less than 12hours?"

"I had it prepared before hand"

"But you didn't know my name"

"True, your new name is Tricia King"

She attempted to protest but got the feel of the name the next moment.

She chipped with a smile igniting her jaw.

"Tricia king? That's hot, I like it"

He was too Stern and quiet, he wouldn't oblige to her taunts and jokes.

"Would he ask for pictures, documents and all that?"

She pinched his arm when he wasn't responding.

"Don't ever do that again"

He warned but he observed she wasn't moved.

"They've all been put in place, all we need is take photos, we'll do that once we get to London"

"Ok, but for how long will this marriage thing keep up?"

She was pestering him with questions and he was getting offended.

"A week, you can go back to Nigeria afterwards, If he requests for you, the excuse would be you traveled to see your parents...and Coco can you do this Job?"

He put the question to her with his cornered eyes picking the arm she threw across his shoulder.

"Yeah of course"

He made a point to her hands around his shoulder and asked the question again.

"Oh, don't mind me, not my fault tho... you're hot"

Coco eventually slept off, after lots of trials to make Davies fun, all to no avail.

Her head fell to his shoulder, he felt disgusted by it. With a tip of his finger, he gently pushed her head away from his shoulders.

"Coco, Coco, get up, we are here"

The chill, cozy breeze that cooled off her skin, the lights that brightened the environs, was something that ignited splits of bubble in her system.

"Somebody pinch me"

She glimmered with Joy.

"I'm in London?"

CHAPTER 3

Coco sneak out plan was perfect, though Jerry, the pet dog was going to blow her cover when she threw her bags through the window pane.

The thud ignited Jerry's barking. She scrabbled through her bag and found a cracker biscuit she had packed. She tossed one to the dog and he calmed instantly.

"Don't worry boy, I'll be back in no time"

She soothed and hurried off. Jerry was the only friend she had. People found it interesting when she reveals the name of her best friend.

"It's Jerry"

"Wow, he is one lucky guy"

The response she always get with a thrill. But then she cut short their imaginations when she concludes.

"It's a dog"

Weird right...?

Davies was set, it was past 7 and he waited impatiently for Coco to meet up with him. If she makes him miss his flight, hell would be let loosed.

He fitted into his dark single breast suit, silver coloured Prada shoe, dark shades and his silver portfolio to Match.

"Take care of business over here. I don't know when or if I'll ever come back to Nigeria"

davies instructed Peter as he gesticulated at his wrist watch.

Peter missed his friend, the new Davies was not the Davies he grew up with. Davies was full of life, naughty and fun to be with. They had funky adventures together. During high school, they were brawlers and terrorists to the entire school.

All that changed when Jane tore his heart out. He met Jane in college, even Peter liked her. Davies loved her passionately, he was crazy over her that Peter grew jealous when she took half the time they spent together.

She was daughter to an equal influential business man, and anyone who heard the tale of the lovers predicted they were meant to be. He was making plans now to put the ring on her finger. He took Peter and together they selected a diamond ring, a perfect match for her Beauty. Until the D-day. Peter presented the invitation card on a visit to the house.

"My brother gave me this, can you represent me there? I don't think I can make it"

Davies saw the deal as nothing.

"Anything for you bro"

But the next minute he froze, rushed to wash his face before he took another look.

"What is it...?"

"It's Jane, this is Jane's full name, she is getting married?"

Peter snatched the invitation card to confirm, he had not paid attention to the name.

"Oh no..."

He muttered; Davies dialled Jane immediately.

"Babbby!"

Her voice rang from the other end.

"Don't baby me, don't baby me, Jane you're getting married?"

She was quiet now.

"Answer me!"

"Ok, ok. I'm sorry Davies. Look I like you but I discovered a new guy, he is cute and I love him..."

Peter could see Davies hands shaking.

"Jane please am begging you. I love you with all my heart. Jane you promised me, you promised you'd never leave me. Jane I want to propose, I bought a ring already"

His voice was hasty and shaky. Full of hurt and pain

"I'm sorry Davies, I know you love me but I discovered that I just like you, that's all, I'm sorry"

She ended the call. Well Jane ended up divorced after a year of an abusive marriage.

But Davies, a part of him died that day, one that Peter could not bring back.. It was 10years ago, now he was in his late thirties and entitled to own his share of his father's wealth across the country and its environs. But the deal put to him, and his siblings who had their spectacular reasons for remaining single, was to get married to earn their inheritance.

And that is where Coco fits in.

She appeared panting with her bags lingering on her arms.

"You are late"

Davies pointed out and gave Peter a quick nudge before he started out of his office.

"Late? It's just a minute past 7. I've never been this early in my entire life. At least I deserve a credit"

He was quiet as he made her sit in his ride and zoomed to the airport.

"Are you ready for this?"

He finally asked when they were safely in the plane.

"Ready for what? Ok sorry, but you've not given me any hint on the job"

She countered his question

"Are you ready to be my wife"

LOVE IS A GAME

CHAPTER 2

Love is a game? Does that even make sense Davies?”

Peter tailed him from behind. He hated the fact that Coco got the spot. He didn’t like her guts, and he felt she was going to be big trouble.

“Yes, she’s the one I need. I’m taking the first flight tomorrow, back to London, now send the girl to my office”

Peter stopped when Davies doubled his pace.

“Dammit!”

He cursed and started towards the Hall. Coco was back to her seat, busy on her iPhone. Instantly he began to wonder how she got her hands on an iPhone, she must be some thug or something.

“Hey Coco, come with me”

He instructed and turned to leave immediately. The building was a little complex, and so when called for her, he made sure he was quick. He did so on purpose, hoping she lost her way.

“Go through that door”

He instructed with a frown on his face

Davies sat facing her; different thoughts flooded her mind, but whatever it is, she was pretty sure it wouldn’t be something she can’t handle.

She felt he was too handsome. His beards caved down his cheeks, fitting into a perfect side beards. His lips had an oval shape and it appeared tasty below his slight pointed nose and soulful eyes. He had a nice shave, one that suited his slight v-shaped faced. She was checking him out stylishly and he noticed.

“Hey”

He called and snapped her out of her reverie. She didn’t see the need to reply so she simply conned the office with her eyes and chipped a smile at the corner of her lips in response.

“Coco, tell me a little about yourself”

She was quick to chuckle at his question.

“Trust me, there is nothing to tell”

She replied shrewdly. Her personal life was hers to keep.

“You have to get serious here, I don’t have all day”

She read the disgust his tone so she had to adjust to his taste and touched the tip of the iceberg

“I’m an orphan, I live with my aunt who makes life a living hell for me, I’m a street hustler, and I’ve managed to fend for myself”

He didn’t show any remorse or sympathy to her summarised story, that was the least of his interest. She could feel the line on her forehead head crinkle as she looked any pity in his face. He showed none, it didn’t sound new to him.

“You’ve fallen in love before?”

She nodded with a scoff.

“With who?”

“7guys in total; they were all equal bastards”

He smiled now, but she didn’t find it funny.

“You loved them?”

She hesitated and felt he was prying into her personal details.

“I’ll need this info for what I would need you for”

He explained and eased her paranoid mind.

“Loved the first 3, the rest were for fun and for the cash”

He was quiet for a while, and for a minute there she felt she had said too much.

“What kind of fun?”

His question erupted strange butterflies in her tummy. She felt he was being too ridiculous, but he was quite serious, with no sign of levity.

“That kind of fun, sex fun”

He sighed when she averted her eyes to regain her confidence. She felt embarrassed talking about that, he must feel she is some flirt. The next minute she didn’t care.

“Good, I need you for a job, no strings attached. When I mean no strings I mean no feelings, no love, no sex…Strictly business, and you would be well paid”

She didn’t get his point, a thought popped her mind and she gasped in response.

“It’s not prostitution”

It was like he pried her thoughts and countered her outburst. She nodded with a questionable expression still.

“Would it be a problem if I take you out of the country”

She tried so hard to tame the thrill that welled up in her, well robust, ready to burst.

“It’ll would be my pleasure sir”

She didn’t care if she was rational in her decision to tag along with a total stranger, on the bases of a Job that has not been revealed to her yet. Her mind was immediately made up to take the risk, as far it takes her out of the country and out of the torture she called home.

“Alright, get your bags and meet me back here at 8am tomorrow”

She was up and at the threshold when he called out to her.

“And Coco, don’t be late”
