herziz07: A Time for immorality where peoples fathers and mothers publicly fornicate for africans to see.can anyone one this forum imagine his father or mother on this show.its pathetic how western influence has made us to think this is civilisation

I agree with you. To think viewers are excited about these lewd acts within the house. I am a big fan of BBA but when it gets this randy, it is actually irritating. But then, randy and lewd sells nowadays so we must just change channels when insanity rules and resume viewing when sanity is back. God help us...still love BBA though.

SAGirl: #BBATHECHASE: OPEN LETTER TO DSTV ON BIG BROTHER AFRICA FROM AFRICAN YOUTH

I urge and plead with All Africa Youths, let’s ask DSTV to give Us a BBA where Africa Youths go and discuss, proper solution to solve Africa Problems not this morally loosed show where single parents who can’t keep their relationships go into the house to show their fallen breast, drug addicts, porn stars, ill mannered people mix up and get rewarded. Ha! Having sex in the public with somebody who is not your spouse? God have mercy! The demon of sexual immorality has etched its ugly head into the show; hence the next sane option is to nip the programme in the bud.

The BBA is all about immoral behaviour and that is why it attracts lots of fans. They even prefer open sex every day. There is no single thing to learn from the programme, they just promote sex and immorality. It’s time we ignore it & speak up against it, for what it’s worth.

How long does it take to imbibe a habit? 21 days; and BBA runs for 90days, subtly making people addicts to bad habits. Say No to TV shows without value. Reality shows with immorality is a No No!!!!!!

PLS get us programmes that’ll teach us to fight poverty and BAD LEADERS!!!

By Bankole .O Ogunowo

You won't fight 'BAD LEADERS' by un-watching BBA o. If you havent realised it yet, this is clearly not the forum for the message you are preaching. Can't you see all the fights back and forth. People are knee deep in this BBA thing no be small matter. Try and post this message in 2 month's time and maybe you will get a positive response. I think it is just an enteraining show that deviates from the conventional day to day seriousness the events in this Africa is plagued with. Depends on how you see it but BBA isn't as bad as you think...Just my opinion!

Education / Re: Nigeria Graduate Vs Foreign Graduate by abenipa(f): 3:00pm On Aug 19, 2011
@ajanlekoko: I have read your thread and I agree with you on almost all the points you raised. The thing is in terms of a good learning environment, experience and exposure that can be received, foreign graduates do have a 'seeming' advantage. The spoken communication and confidence also goes a long way but that is just the starting point. Some of these foreign graduates impress verbally but cannot assert themselves enough/command respect on paper. You have to be a self starter and constantly want to improve/learn. Some foreign based graduates just want to get that second degree for prestige or to show that 'me too, I know book' or for emigration purposes (nothing wrong with that) but when push comes to shove and they are left to hold their own, can they succeed? (same goes for Naija graduate). Studying abroad is much better (personally) but productivity now depends alot largely on the individual (graduate from Naija or foreign). Its a two-fold debate really,

Culture / Re: Pls Help, Remind Me Of The Good Things About Nigeria by abenipa(f): 2:52pm On Jun 08, 2011
Okay, as much as this our country is crammed up with so filth, irreverent behaviour and especially, our world wide fame for notoriety, there are still some good things that can be said about Nigeria.
My advise to you though is that you go for your presentation partly defensive and partly receptive. This is because an average citizen from anywhere on this planet has some bad ideas about Nigeria more so, your audience is filled with people who have lived in our country. When (cos they will) they start pointing and listing out all our bad traits, you bring out your two sides of reception and defense and counter them, saying that all countries have their ills. You sound like you live outside Niger so highlighting the ills of the country you reside in won't be difficult. That being said, there are positives to Nigeria and I'll list as follows;

- Nigerian people are are very resilient and determined (tell a Niger person he/she cant do something, they will find a way)
- Nigerian people are very hardworking (ask employers of labor if they love their Nigerian employees and they will tell you a big YES)
- Nigeria is a melting pot of different cultures. That is the only country where you have over 365 languages and there is still some level of tolerance.
- Nigeria has the highest twin conception rates (somewhere in Igbo ora, they conceive twins like crazy)
-Nigeria is an economic hub (ask those guys you will be presenting to, why there were in Nigeria. They were either working for a multinational company or scouring the land to see what kind of opportunities exists for their businesses)
- Don't forget Nigerian football and our entertainment, we offer down to earth and no frill entertainment pleasure
- Don't forget to mention that Nigerians are well educated- 1 out of every 4 black foreign student is a Nigerian.
-The last thing I can think of is the fact that Nigerians are just different- I cant pinpoint what it is about us but somehow and many times, when there is a Nigerian somewhere, there is bound to be action.

All the best with your presentation.Hope you do manage to send the message through.

Business / Re: Why Are We Not Making Money Like Dangote? by abenipa(f): 11:37am On Jun 01, 2011
The reason a huge chunk of the population is not making money like Dangote (and are not on that elite Forbe list of world's top 50 billionaires) is because we do not have government connections/alliances; and I beg to differ here, with some people that said he isn't from a rich family. Even if his own nuclear family wasn't rich, he had rich relatives that offered to help him out. Of course, one cannot deny the fact that to have achieved this level of wealth, the man definitely has business savvy but truth be told, access to politicians which eventually means access to one-in-a-kind contracts strongly aided this man. There are plenty of Chartered accountants who I believe are brainier than Dangote but have nothing to show for their brilliances. Sometimes I wonder though, life pays everyone differently. He is just lucky, or more like blessed and highly favored grin grin grin grin
Travel / Re: The Life Of An Ordinary Nigerian Student In The United Kingdom by abenipa(f): 2:47pm On May 31, 2011
Hmmn, my brother, may the almighty God guide you. As you have no intention of staying over when you are through with your studies, it won't be difficult; hopefully, you still have the same resolve after you are through with your Masters programme. Truth is you need to weigh your options properly. If there are other universities that are offering this same course in other countries, try and explore it. It's like the UK government is on a mission to prohibit foreigners from coming into the country to work; they're willing to accept all that money that will be paid for the Msc course but after that, they want you out. There are other places that will offer you admission and desire your presence after you are through with your study because they want your expertise.e.g. Canada or even Australia (this one far sha). The thing is even in the toughest countries, Nigerians always manage to sort out themselves well well but it does helps to do your course, gain some experience and exposure and come back to Nigeria and hopefully, get a well deserved job. Sadly or fortunately (depending on how you see it), that foreign qualification counts for you in Nigeria so just weigh your chances.
Education / Re: Is It A Sin To Be Intelligent? by abenipa(f): 2:14pm On May 31, 2011
Kai, awon aiye!!!! Mundus, no mind them jare.
You sure have received a lot of useful advice (ignore the put-down remarks). Truth is its all about managing yourself. Someone rightly said that sometimes you just have to act like a novice as not everyone is accomodating and receptive to your bright ideas (intelligent ones most especially). To live in this world, wisdom is needed moreso, in a very competitive country like ours. That being said, it doesn't mean you should keep mute at your own detriment for the fear of other people ridiculing or putting you down. If what you have to say will save a life, by all means speak up. But if it is something that isn't a do or die affair, just mind your own business. Wherever you need your exceptional skills to prove yourself and stand out, please do. You cant go on living life wondering what people will see. Just check your motives in any situation and you'll be okay. Besides, if you do right, people will talk; when you do wrong, the will still talk. In short, be at peace with yourself before taking any action.

Truth be told, those people intimidate others and play on people's shock and fear some times. I have experienced it before- when the so-called-egun is running after you with a keen intent on probably flogging you to extort money. As much as some things are done in the name of culture/tradition, excesses need to be curbed as well. They can't go about spreading this depravity in the name of 'tradition' Well done and well said Fashola, I tell you, if you run for president, I shall vote for you.

When the wigs/weaves are fixed nicely, it does look very good and stunning. But its the scourge of unhygienic habits that plagues me about this whole attachment/brazilian weave thing. You go to the bathroom, the water drain is blocked with fake hair; dressing table, brushes are filled with fake hair; kitchen floor, its so so fake hair.   If you can clean it, then you can wear it. If you can't, then stop being an irritant with it. Sometimes if you are not careful, you might even eat your food with hair in it. Just clean up after yourselves!!!

Better still Paddy lo from Pennsylvania, if you are fortunate enough to run into a Nigerian chic you like, why not make things easier for you instead of taking on the role of Floss and Brush Analyst? It takes two to play the game, so if she fine but the dental hygiene is a concern, get a dental toolkit ready. Let it contain all the the Oral B flosses, electric Oral B toothbrushes (since teeth be serious concern for you, kuku make it electric), Sensodyne toothpaste as it is more expensive than Macleans and a debit card ready to be swiped at the dentist for regular cleaning and scaling appointments. But answer a simple question, you dey spend so much for ya own teeth?
Romance / Re: Help Am Afraid Of Kissing Nigerian Girls! by abenipa(f): 1:58pm On May 12, 2011
I'm by no means against proper dental hygiene (it's very important) but o' boy, before you go America, you dey floss, and when did YOU start brushing your own teeth twice a day and using Listerine and Oral toothbrush? Take it easy you hear. If there is such a shortage of girls in Niger that you are reduced to asking them if they floss on your first date, go back to New York, Maryland or Chicago.
