Hello @justwise, @2n2k, @ askari, @whytegirl and nairalanders, please there is a part in the visa form asking this question: Tell us about work for the following types of organisation: 1)Armed Forces (including compulsory national or military service) 2)Government (including Public or Civil Administration and compulsory national service) 3)Media organisations 4)Security organisations (including police and private security companies) 5)Judiciary (including work as a judge or magistrate) For most graduates who have done NYSC, does question No2 apply? Please your answers. |
ifyalways:Thanks a lot. |
askari01:Thanks @ askari. The number is indeed genuine. I just wanted to be sure they will not be thinking why land line was not used. My concern with land line is if the company secretary/receptionist happens not to be in the office to receive call from the Embassy. I need assurance from people who have used mobile number as employer's contact. Guys out there pls tell me your experience..plzzzzzzzz |
customised87:Thanks but I wanted to know if mobile number is recognized by uk embassy as against land line of an employer. |
Hello Nairaland family, Please I will like to know if in the visa form, someone can put a mobile number as the contact details of employer who will be sponsoring a business trip. This is because if the land line is used, the company representative may not be in the office to receive the call when the ECO makes calls to the company. Is there anyone there in a similar situation who used mobile contact & was successful? |

FrontPageLawyer:@FrontpageLawyer. Thanks. God bless you for us. On behalf of my fellow nairalanders i say thank you for your contributions. It takes a lot of effort to answer numerous questions from newbies like us. Well done |
abeylevels:I have another question: I will be submitting my visa application next month. However, I had a credit deposit of xyz last month being a transfer from my company to my account. This amount is about twice my monthly salary & its actually my leave allowance. The credit is not reflecting in my payslip since its an allowance but its stated in some part of the letter from my employer that am entitled to xyz amount as leave allowance per anum. I also have an internal memo from the HR department informing me about the leave. I am going on a business visit & my company is sponsoring me but based on comments from nairaland, I am concerned about this credit payment. Will the ECO still require explanation despite my bank statement showing that the fund was transferred from my company to me? If I still have to provide evidence of this deposit, It is Ok to say I actually needed the money for a specific purpose? Though am currently making some payments for personal use ; hence my final account balance would have shown various purpose the money was spent upon or do I use the internal memo from the HR department as paper evidence? I really need to have a strong application cuz of my past refusals from UK, US & Schengen. please help |
FrontPageLawyer:@FrontPageLawyer. Thanks a lot. You are Blessed |
Hello @FrontPageLawyer, @Justwise & Nairaland family; You have been very helpful on this forum. May God Bless you all I have some questions in filling the Uk online application form at (https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/) for my trip on a Business visa, in which my company is sponsoring me. 1)There is a place they ask if I have any family in UK? My uncle's wife(who i can call my Aunt) is based in UK with her 2 kids. The husband is a Professor lecturing in Nigeria. He only visit his family on vacation. Question i-Can I just state my Aunt as the family I have or I must also include her kids? Question ii-Also my blood sister & her husband are based in UK. Should I just indicate my sister's name alone or I have to include her husband? 2)There is a part that also ask what is the cost to you personally of your trip in GBP? Since am not paying, I will answer N/A as advised by @FrontPageLawyer However the next question asks for the ....Total money you have for this Trip? My company has budget a max of 8,000USD for my expenses which is more than enough looking at my expenses of about 3,000GBP. I also have over 1m in my personal account. I have over 1m in a co-operative savings with my company welfare unit. I have 800k naira in a Mutual Fund. I have stocks worth over 2m. Please based on the above, how should i answer the question ...what is the total money you have for the trip?.... since am being sponsored but I still have my own money which am not spending for the trip? 3)There is another question that ask..Do you have other income and How much you receive monthly from this? While I have investments in Land, stock & Mutual Fund, the only income I receive now is Dividend from stocks which doesnt come monthly and I cant predict the amount. How do I answer this part since for example i can receive X naira from company A in April last year , Y naira from company B in June last year. But this year company A pays lower that X naira based on performance while company B pays more than Y naira. Though these credits are not so huge. They vary with amounts like 35,000 naira, 800naira, 20,000naira etc Please Nairalanders family, @FrontPageLawyer, @Justwise help as I dont want to fill N/A when i know they will see that there are some credits into my bank statement apart from my monthly salary. Please help |
ancestorial:@ancestral, how was your visa application? Did you add any extra documents? |
FrontPageLawyer:Thanks a lot @FrontPageLawyer & @Justwise I want to confirm if it is very important for my company to pay for the training cost in advance before applying for the visa? Since we have to be sure that the visa is out before making payment. The training organizer in UK already sent an invitation letter while we have not yet paid. Will UK embassy still expect payment before visa is granted? You mentioned hotel reservation in documents required for Business visa. I saw in UK website that they don't need hotel & flight bookings. See attached extract from their website stating that they don't need these. Can you give clarification? I am also confused as regards the correct website through which I will apply online for the Business visa. From the Uk website, they now classify business visit as standard visitor. They mentioned that standard visitors can use http://visas-immigration.service.gov.uk/product/uk-visit-visa while other visitors can use http://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk. Please do you know of anyone who has recently applyed for Business visa this year 2016 and what website they used? @FrontPageLawyer & @Justwise ,is there a way you can send me your email add? I need further assistance on checking some documents. mine is contact4online@yahoo.com Thanks

justwise:My first refusal was due to the fact that the ECO stated that I didnt have enough funding when I applied for Masters program in UK. This was about 10 years ago. My second refusal was that I didnt demonstrate how am related to a family member i wanted to visit in the UK. This was about 6 years ago. Please advice me if I need an immigration lawyer to assist me with this new application. My company in Nigeria has just nominated me for this training in UK . My company is a subsidiary of a Parent company(a Group company) based in Europe(but outside UK). This parent company organizes foreign training for the local companies under it. I am expecting an invitation letter from the company in UK for the official training. The invitation letter will state that the Parent company will pay the UK company the cost of training on behalf of my Nigerian company who will reimburse its parent company later. My company in Nigeria is also writing an introduction letter stating that it will be responsible for all the cost of the training, accommodation , flight & feeding in uk. My Nigerian company will also provide bank statement to show its capability to fund my Uk training. The Parent company will only write a letter confirming that it will pay the UK company the training cost on behalf of the Nigerian company. I would have preferred that my Nigerian company directly pays the UK company the cost of training but the UK company is only accepting payment from the Parent company. It was the Parent company in Europe that negotiated & arranged the training with the UK company. My second concern now(apart from my initial question) is that this Parent company will only write a letter stating that it will pay the UK company on behalf of the Nigerian company. Is the letter from the Parent company going to be any issue before the ECO? Is the letter sufficient? Will the ECO not see the Parent company as a 3rd party? Are there other documents being expected from the parent company? Please help |
Hello folks, My company is sponsoring me for a training in the UK. I have had some visa refusals in the past. Is it advisable to get an immigration lawyer to handle my application? Has anyone out there used immigration lawyer for situations like this and they were successful? Is the immigration lawyer required to write directly to the British embassy on my behalf? What are the specific documents that can score me high chances of getting the visa approved. Guys please help, this training is important to me Thanks |
Senators are busy wasting our money buying Jeeps. Fayose will not talk now or do his artificial criticism. Its when Buhari buys garri in d market that the insane Fayose will spill his weed mouth to public and by then, I trust IPOD-wailers to say he is doing criticism |
Progressive01:I love this response. They are just antagonistic & satanic. They dont wish success for the country. Am 100% sure if it was their Hero thats in govt now, they will not conplain of anything. I remember that few months to the end of the tenure of their Hero, dollar was over the naira by a lot more than N240. They didnt see that. Fuel was scarce cuz they stole money meant to pay marketers. They didnt complain. Now our PMB is cleaning up their mess & they raise their voice over the roof top. ...what a shame...see hatred at its peak.... Now i challenge the IPO-wailer to prove they do not hate this govrment..... Just prove ur heart is not filled with HATE |
Fellow Nairalanders, Please pass this message round to your loved ones especially the older Mama & Papa who I believe could fall victim to the new Fraud being perpetuated by some 419 idiots now. Recently, my ATM expired on 31st March. As at 30th March, I went to my bank to request for a new one. I was told by the customer service section that the new set of cards would arrive the following week. Hence I had to wait. As at 1st April, my card was expired hence no longer active. Coincidentally on April 2nd, I received a text message from an MTN line(+2348066182037) saying the following.... .... Dear customer, Your ATM card has been temporarily De-activated, for Re-activation kindly contact the interswitch management Mr Adebayo on 08066182037 ..... When I saw the message, I was not really suspecting any foul play even though I expect the sender's number to have the name of my Bank. However, the message coincided with my situation for which my card was already expired. Had it been that my card was not expired, I would have easily concluded the message was a scam I received the message twice as you can see in the attached picture. I decided to at least call the number and guess what the conversation was: Me:- Hello, I received some text message asking for a re-activation of my ATM card 419 guy:- Yes. What is the name of your bank. Me:- I told him the name of my bank 419 guy:What type of card are you using? Me:- I told him Master card 419 guy:- I hope you know that your card has some numbers on it Me: Yes 419 guy: Can you confirm they are up to sixteen digits? Me: (already feeling somehow for these questions) I told him Yes 419 guy:- OK. Let tell me and let me write down the number ...!!!! Me:- ....I asked him...what do you need the number for?... Immediately, he cut off the call. I wanted to be sure it was not the network. I dialed the idiots number again but he kept cutting it. I was dam annoyed for the reason that he would have done same for so many people and some would have fall victim I was sure that if i had given him the card number, the next thing he would ask is for my PIN & possibly account number I was thinking of what to do. Should I just ignore this and believe I did not fall victim them move on with my life or I contribute to help Nigerian government and my fellow Nigerians to arrest this idiot. I waited for 2 days. Then call him again. I was surprised that the idiot picked my number. Apparently, he did not store my number as he has millions of Nigerians he planned to dupe. My plan was to at least get some information like his office address so that I can report him & get him arrested. The conversation started again: Me:- Hello, My ATM card is no longer active & I received some text messages asking for a re-activation. 419 guy:- Yes. What is the name of your bank. Me:- I told him the name of my bank 419 guy:What type of card are you using? Me:- I told him Master card 419 guy:- I hope you know that your card has some numbers on it Me: Yes 419 guy: Can you confirm they are up to sixteen digits? Me:- I told him Yes 419 guy:- Give me the number! Me:- I will give you but I will like to come to your office to give you so that once you activate the card, you can test the card for me 419 guy:- OK. My office is at Mile 2 Me:- Where in Mile 2? 419 guy:-The UBA office at Mile 2. Me:- OK, what is your full name so that when I get to your office, I can ask of you? 419 guy:- ...Adebayo.... A... Adewale Me:- (I was sure that was not his real name). OK. Is this your number so that i can call you when I come? 419 guy:-Yes Me:- Is it registered cuz I dont want the number unreachable when I come since MTN might block it if you are not registered 419 guy:-Yes. It is registered I have since called MTN to report the idiot and gave them the number to possibly assist in nabbing him. My fellow Nairalanders, please inform your loved ones. I am almost certain that out of 170 million Nigerians out there, there are some people(young or old) who would not suspect foul play. That innocent victim might be related to you. so please spread the message . If you have received similar message & you are sure its a 419, dont keep quiet. do something about it . At least report somewhere and inform people around you. The government is trying its best to get rid of these criminals but we as citizens have some role to play. God Bless us All.

FOLYKAZE:I luv this guy. So on point |
DickDastardly:Going by this write-up, its better to allow Boko-Haram also have their own state in Nigeria and also allow ISIS their own country. I wonder why people are so selfish in this country to the extent that they dont care about what us good for the country. A lot of youths are unemployed and yet they are not happy that thieves and looters are being jailed. We really need Iron hand in this country if things must improve. As a long as those thieves are out there, they will keep formenting trouble. Ever since PDP lost, they brought up Biafra. They never condemn the action of Dasuki for once. PDP is really in support of corruption. Thats why they said stealing is not corruption For youths, I pity you all if you are especially unemployed, yet you are in support of Dasuki. Bleep the corrupt cort order protecting thieves. |
Demmocrats:. I luv this response...lol |
Hello @Otunba4eva & (others who visited Ghana recently) I read your post on your journey to Ghana. I will like to also visit alone in February 2016. Please, now that we cant use ATM abroad, how can I get Ghana currency to spend in Ghana? I will also like to ask if your passport were stamped in Togo & Benin as i want these countries to count towards my travel history. THanks |
Ekiti people, una never see anything. Pls dont complain oooo. U wanted him, u got him. |

praise010:. You are very correct my Brother. I wonder why youths will continue to have people like Raymond-thief as leaders and expect a better Nigeria. Like you said, when he was using military to kill innocent people in Edo, his brain was not thinking abi? And youths who knew what he did then are still seeing him as a leader.. What a bad example for the youths & society. Yet he has mouth to still talk. How I wished Govt or NBC close down AIT for 6months only for violating broadcasting rules. Shameless man |
Lawyer, if you are truly on a clean up mission for Nigeria, then where were you when AIT was doing its sponsored hate campaign? Where were you until NBC declared AIT had erred the rules of broad casting? How come you are awake now? |
There is a switch in the engine called "cold-start" switch. Ask ur mechanic to use Diagnostic tool to scan the car. You will see the faulty switch. Replace it and your car should be ok. |
Hello guys, I need your help. I am so furious, irritated and i need someone in the house to give me a solution. I happen to visit a fast food(Mama Cass at New Oko-Oba, Lagos) close to my area to eat. I often complain to the staff at this fast food about seeing housefly on the food they serve to customers. They seem not disturbed seeing housefly hovering on their food. They sometimes leave their door open and the insect killer seems not effective On Saturday, I went to the place to eat. I requested Rice & stew with Gizzard. As i was almost finishing the food, I noticed housefly in the stew....! I immediately vomited the remaining rice in my mouth and requested to see the Manager on duty. (See the picture of the housefly which i circled in red and the rice I vomited) As usual, the manager apologised casually. I told the manager I don't expect them to be careless with people's health as housefly in the stew can transmit chlolera, typhoid or other diseases. I really want to report this case to an appropriate health authority as I feel for other customers particularly those who bring their children to eat. (Children might not be as resistant to diseases as adults.) Please, if you are in Lagos kindly info me an email /telephone number of the appropriate agency to lodge my complain. Thanks folks

I am from the south West & I dont see any major achievement of GEJ for the past 6 years. BUT.....with the way he showed a "gentleman" after the Election result did not favour him is commendable. This is the only good thing I see him achieve. It may look small but it means a lot for people who understand politics of Nigeria. Lets forget his past issues & unite together as Yoruba, Igbo & Housa and forge ahead so dat we can all enjoy this country at least since return of democracy. |
