Thanks a lot @koffeed for the responses.

It is wonderful to have great people like you on this platform.
God bless

koffeed:

1-You don't necessarily need the booking to last two whole weeks. you just need to be able to book with a reference number and a booking itinerary to showcase them. don't worry if it expires 72 hours if you don't physically purchase the ticket. You can use South African Airways on their website and choose the option pay later to get your booking.

2-As of today that information is categorically false. You will not be denied based on your visa being e-visa. initially in the early stages of evisa, most border agents at the airports had little knowledge about it hence why they needed to verify in South Africa be it Tambo airport, or any other airport but its been over a year now and I presume they've have the necessary training to get use to it by now. if anyone gives you trouble at the airpot just ask to speak to the supervisor. All airports in south Africa will give you access to the country provided you have your evisa paper document stating the validity of the visa, there is a bar scan code on it that they can now officially scan so you shouldn't have an issue, that bar code is the same as getting a physical stamp at the embassy.

3-South is not the only country practicing evisa so don't worry about layovers before reaching your final destination in South Africa. what's important is which ever country you transit through ensure that your Nigerian passport gives you a no visa needed to transit through that country, that's what is important. for instance if you need to go through Ghana you won't need it because of the Ecowas agreement but per say if you have to transit through Other countries in the south then verify online that Nigeria is visa exempt. Now if you need direct flight with little stress look into South African Airways as an option.

4- You do not need a police and medical clearance as a tourist visa. Now with that being said if you state on your evisa application that you've lived in another country for more than 12months the evisa system will ask you to include a police clearance for that country you resided in for more than 12months besides your actual country of citizenship. make Sure to avoid this part. Medical report is only needed if you decided to complicate things and say on the application that you have certain medical issues. Besides this medical report is needed if you are applying as a business visa which grants you long permanent stay to run and start a business in South Africa or if you are applying for anything besides tourist visa.

Cheers and pardon any typo you may come across on my reply. too exhausted to edit

Hello Friends,

Thanks for the various contribution to help each other.
Pls i am planning to apply for the e-Visa for a conference next month.

I have 2 questions:

1)How can i get a flight booking that will be valid for the next 2 weeks during the e-Visa application?
How do you guys do it?

2) The location of my conference is in another province close to Cape Town. I have read on this forum that only Johannesburg airport(OR tambo) recognize e-Visa. I will like to know if this is true?
Can i book my flight directly from Lagos to the nearest airport to the conference area even if i do not land in OR tambo?

3) Another question pls: the flights i have seen online have 1 or 2 stops. Has there been anyone who travelled on e-Visa with stop over in other African countries?

4)Final question:do i need the police and medical report in my application?

So in the next election, my vote and that of my people in my street is going to Peter Obi.
I have been campaigning for him since last month within my locality.

Can you explain the procedure of this to me. I also got admission for online MSc in URV, spain.
I need to do the legalization as well.
Thanks

Hello guys.

Thanks 1andonly, geniuzio and the rest for the good insight you are providing.

i am going for a distance learning masters (i dont need a visa and dont need to travel to spain) in Spain and my school requires legalisation which i will do in Abuja tomorrow. i followed the advise on page 1.

i would like to know how to book for legalisation at the embassy. is it just to send a mail to cog.lagos@maec.es or is there something else. does the mail require any particular subject header or template?

also, the school (Universitat Rovira i Virgili) requires that I provide a document stating that my Bsc qualification allows me to initiate a master’s degree programme in the country of issue (i.e. Nigeria). has anyone heard about this requirement and where to get such a document/letter?

Are u this biased? Jeez!
And women are cool with their husband flirting around & they don't complain about it right?? Didn't u read where he stated his wife complained he was looking at ladies lustfully??

If his wife can start accusing him wrongly of lustful acts, then op should be the one to keep cool receiving undeserved insults simply because he is a gentle guy? Learn to apply fairness in your views, it will make u a better person.

You really nailed it. A lot goes on behind the screen

superCleanworks:

the way you narrated this story shows the kind of person you are. very manipulative and troublesome.
you just painted the story to put the man in total bad light of public judgement so that every reader will call him a bad person for just waking up one morning and leaving the house for you and even blocking you and asking you never to call again... just like that.

even a mad man goes out and comes back but when it reaches the level where the man leaves the house for you and REFUSE TO RETURN then there is something you are deliberately not telling us.

as a good and loving wife that gives your husband peace to stay at home, your voice just became so horrible to him overnight that he even blocked you everywhere. just like that?

from where you are sitting, you do not know why he refused to return but you know for sure that he is in a relationship and you even know the lady's origin. na wah for you.

for you to use the phrase REFUSED TO RETURN instead of showing worry for his absence shows you feel you can do whatever you like but he must be in the house. You never expected this would be like this. But here you are, still feeling entitled. There is nowhere in this your little story that shows genuine concern of a loving wife for his absence at all. The only thing you are worried about is getting his new address so you can go there start screaming and paint him black just the way you have done here. You need to check yourself properly.

keep painting your story very well but till you decide to be honest with your story then your problem will continue even if the man comes back to that house right now. I sincerely hope the man keeps staying where he is till you finally come back to your senses before you kill him with your wahala.

In the future, all your children will get married and leave. Some may also travel out of the country for schooling or work.
Then you will be alone. It is never good to be alone...!

I did my MSc at University of Ibadan.
As i heard that for WES, they are not taking WAEC again & i just have to send my highest degree, i decided to send only my MSc( degree & transcript) to WES.
Before sending to WES, i took a pic of the copy of the transcript from the officer processing it & made a few checks before they posted it by courier.
I didn't see any error...!

After WES received my documents they requested for verification from University of Ibadan.
I kept waiting for this to be done, when it Dawn on me to recheck every detail of the transcript then i saw various mistakes.
One of the mistake is that a course was repeated twice. Another is that the grading of some courses were not correct.
Example: in some courses where i got over 70, the grade was E.

When i saw all these, i was so sad..!

I then decided to come here to ask if anyone has been in such situation before & the way out.

Can i write to WES to explain this?

I have a Masters from University of Ibadan as well. I don’t know about the course being repeated twice, but the E in front means Elective. You would see C and R as well, which means Compulsory and Required. It’s not a mistake

@thatDebzGirl, may your days be long.
May you look up to God & find Blessings. May people favour you in all you do.

Infact i have been worried since 3 days ago.
I didn't look at the E - Elective, C- compulsory . I thot is was supposed to be grading.

What WES does for an Immigration ECA is to ensure you actually have a Masters. It does not emphasize on your scores. It just checks that the courses are masters level courses and that the school certifies that you passed. An Email to WES on this issue could elongate your credential evaluation process.

If you were doing WES to apply for a Phd, however, you would need to sort this issue out. Not with WES but with your school. Remember: anyone can send an email saying the school is wrong. WES would need proof that the school is making mistakes.

My point is: I don't think you should take this up with WES now because as long as you have a Master's certificate, your scores don't matter.

I think you should take it up with your University IF you need to do any future credential evaluation for a Phd or diploma.

@carissaa thank you so much.
I was much concerned about my integrity with WES as all through my life i never involve myself with such.

I will speak with the school

Applying for visa to SA now is a bit too late. Based on the average processing time (as reported here) there's a very good chance that the visa may not be ready in time for Christmas. If you are convinced, there's no harm in trying.

1. Include your bank statement and hers

2. Let's do a rough estimate, since you haven't booked flights now average ticket cost by December would be around 200k that's 400k for both of you, this may increase with the number of kids. Factor in accommodation which would be expensive and feeding. Let's say 1.5million. What the VO may think is after spending 1.5m on a trip, will 500k be enough to take care of your family? (logical thinking ) my opinion is that it may not be enough. ( I stand corrected sha)

3. Let her indicate she's self employed.

4. Yes let her add hers.

5. The fact you are married should be enough ties. (hopefully)

6. Yes should include it.

Bonus - You may need to certify your wedding certificate and the birth certificate of your kids at ministry of foreign affairs at Abuja. (confirm from the checklist)

Shalom.

Thanks for the response. As for the bank balance, i am also including investment in fixed deposit with value over 4million naira as well as investment in Land. Is this good enough proof to the Embassy that i can Sponsor the trip?

Hello @Justwise & other Gurus in the house,

I will like to go on a family vacation during xmas period to South Africa.
Basically, i will be sponsoring the trip for myself, wife & 2kids.
I have list of documents i need to present but need help on some documents for my wife & kids.
1)Does my wife & kids need the original or photocopy of my bank statement?
2)Is an account balance of 2million ok for the 4 of us?
3)My wife is basically a housewife but she does a side business & has a business ID card. Should she indicate on her form that she is a house wife or self employed?
4)Since am the one sponsoring the trip, does she need her own statement of account?
5)i have heard that each application is treated independently, what can my wife use as a tie that will ensure she returns back to Nigeria after the vacation?
6)My wife has a previous vacation to Dubai a few years, can she include a copy of this dubai visa?

Thanks in anticipation for expert advice.
Religion / Re: Please Say A Prayer For those Suffering From Chronic Illness In This New Year by abeylevels(m): 10:54am On Jan 01, 2019
@Dafeyanke , @Mznaett, God will heal you in Jesus Name.

While you are praying, you need to take the following steps fast & by the grace of God you will miraculously see that you will be healed. Don't loose hope.
If you can manage with determination to do these things, you will be healed in Jesus Name.

1)Stop eating the following food: white rice, bread, any sweet fruit, milk, meat pie, tea etc
2) For the next 2 month you have to eat 80% uncooked food with or without 20% natural cook food.
3)In the morning when you wake up drink 2-3 glasses of water. The best water you can take is water you boil by yourself and allowed to cool. Do not take any bottled water as most of them contain chlorine which kills micro organisms but also bad for you.
Alternatively, if bottled water is what you have, pour it into a glass cup and put boiling ring in it. Once the warer becomes warm with vapour going out then switch off the ring. Wait for about 20mins then all the chlorin would have been out. Alternatively you can use a kettle.
4)Buy the following cheap vegetables and eat like a salad. Cucumber, carrot, cabbage, lettuce, unripe pawpaw & Avocado.
5)If you have some extra money, go to shoprite and buy Brocolli.
6)Get enough ginger & garlic.
7)Take half cucumber + 2 carrots+ 1/4 cabbage + a handful of lettuce + 2 tomatoe + 1 brocolli + 1 avocado and cut them into small sizes like a salad.
coolBuy groundnut or almond nut from Jumia.com. take a spoon ful and pour on the salad. That is your protein. (You must not eat red meat again. No fried food, no catfish, fresh unfried fish is ok when you will eat normal food).
9)Go to Jumia.com & buy Swanson Extra Virgin Oilve oil. Its about N9,000. Take 1 table spoon after every meal
10)Check that when you go to the toilet your poo is brownish yellow. If not then you are not excreting waste from your body.
11)If you cant eat properly, Take the same salad combination above, add a few ginger & garlic then blend in a blender. Take this as your food.
12)By afternoon you can repeat the salad. Alternatively, you can make little ofada rice(3-4spoom) then add the salad and little fresh fish.
Your last meal in the night should be latest by 7-7:30pm. You can take the blended salad or juice if you are hungry 1hr before you sleep.
You can also eat wheat or swallow but it should be the size of your fist. But the soup made of vegetables must be more than the swallow. Eliminate or reduce maggi by 80% in your food. Also reduce salt.
13)Get a small juicer and take the salad but this time let the cucumber & cabbage be more. No need to add avocado as it cant pass through the juicer easily. Also makke juice from pawpaw leaves which u must have washed properly. All the juice combination must be at least 2 full cups. Take this about 3 to 4 times daily.
2 first thing in the morning, 2 after each meal.
14) go to the Lab and do a blood test called Full blood count. Let the lab scientist interpret the result in relation to your immune system.
All the points above is intended to make your immune system strong to kill cancer cells & shrink the mass. You will need to do this blood test monthly to see how you are improving
15) If you still have money to spare buy the following from Jumia. MSM made by swanson. Its a sulphur based supplement to oxygenate your body. You really need it. Take 1 table spoon and add it to your juice each time.
16)Again from jumia, buy a product called Wobenzyme. Take 2 tablets 1-2hrs hr before each meal.
17)Go online and read these people's story about similar things.

https://www.chrisbeatcancer.com/the-raw-vegan-diet/

https://www.chrisbeatcancer.com/grandfather-78-beats-incurable-colon-cancer-by-changing-diet/

18)do "light" exersice for 20mins -40mins if you can until you sweat.
19)Between 10-12pm stay outside and expose your body to the sun to get natural vitamin D. You need a lot of it.
20) Take a good multivitamin like omega H3 daily.
21)Get Aloe vera juice/gel from jumia.com. the one from Garden of Life or GNC is better. It heals your body. If you cant eat, take it and it will help you to feel hungry. You can also make ginger tea.

All i have listed is much but that is a sacrifice and determination you have to make in addition to prayer.

God Bless you.

@FrontPageLawyer,@Justwise, @ancestorial, @ifyalways, @2n2k

You guys are fantastically wonderful.

After series of questions and answers I finally wish to tell you I got my business visa. Thanks for your guidance.

I was much worried since I know I had to do a lot to convince the ECO that am a genuine person going for a business visit & will be back to my job & family. I had past refusals and your guidance helped a lot. Above all I thank God.

I personally believe that all genuine applicants must put their applications right with good documents but you also need God to also help you.
There are stories I have read on this Nairaland of people with genuine intentions, good supporting documents but the ECO mistakenly did not see some of their very important documents. The ECO are also human beings and may have bad or stressful days like we do.

I also wish to drop my own little tip here for people who are genuinely going to the UK. This is my own contribution to the forum:-
Your ties to Nigeria is one of the key among several factors they loot at.
For you to know which documents to add, put yourself in the shoes of the ECO and imagine how you will be convinced that a visa applicant is coming back.
-Marriage is a good tie but may not be enough based on their experiences. There are people who have family but left and never came back.
Some will even go and marry UK citizens to get stay in UK.
-Properties are also good but having just a land is not very strong. If you have a house or an ongoing house project , you are in order.
-You can also turn your job to a good tie. if you have spent many years in your company or business, its also very helpful.
If you have received recommendation letter or promotion letter, it says a lot about you.
Are there NGOs or Professional associations related to your job that issued you certifications or recommendations, then you can also present them
-You must also explain all sources of money to your bank account. I later understand why they are very much interested in bank statement.
Bank statement says a lot about everyone.
It can help them to know how you acquired your money & your economic circumstances. The final balance in your account is important but being too high will not impress them.
If there are deposits you cannot explain with paper proof, then there will be a red flag about your person. They will be wondering if such a person is Yahoo-Yahoo or 419, or someone who got money through illegal means.
-Lastly, in the application form where they ask how much you spend every month, try to be approximate to the truth. People can easily state a very low amount as monthly expenses but the ECO can check your bank statement to estimate your monthly expenses. if there are huge differences, there will be a red flag in their mind.

Above all, depending on your faith you need God in addition to human effort.

Thanks a lot guys. God bless you richly

FrontPageLawyer:

Anybody can make the payment; the ECO is more concerned about the original receipt of payment and a confirm reservation for the training.

Your past refusals are not much of a problem, but you must clearly disclose and give concise reasons for all past refusals in your new application. It’s called an integrity test. Your new visa application will be treated/considered differently.

Documents you need from your company;

Registration Certificate
Tax clearance Certificate
Introduction letter from company
Statement of account or Letter of sponsorship, this depends on the type of organization you work with.

Document you need to prove your ties to your home country.

Employment letter
Introduction Letter from company
Hotel reservation
Training receipt and seat reservation
Six months statement of account print out (Salary Account)
Six months payslip showing monthly tax deduction or Personal Income Tax card.
And any other documents to prove your ties to Nigeria, e.g. property documents, shares document, inheritance, Marriage certificate and Children Birth Certificate.

To be frank, I found that question tricky also. In my first application years ago when we used to hand fill application, I put NYSC but since then, for no reason at all, I would just click NO. Graduate members of my family have been doing the same and no one has been denied visa.

By the way, where does a corper that served in a military school fall? Can someone who did his nysc in a bank claim government- public or civil administration?

Though I have not tried it, you may click yes and see whether a sub-window opens to give you room to explain in detail what nature of national service you did and where.

. Ok. Thanks.

Hello @justwise, @2n2k, @ askari, @whytegirl and nairalanders,
please there is a part in the visa form asking this question:

Tell us about work for the following types of organisation:
1)Armed Forces (including compulsory national or military service)
2)Government (including Public or Civil Administration and compulsory national service)
3)Media organisations
4)Security organisations (including police and private security companies)
5)Judiciary (including work as a judge or magistrate)

For most graduates who have done NYSC, does question No2 apply?

Please your answers.

Hello Nairaland family,

Please I will like to know if in the visa form, someone can put a mobile number as the contact details of employer who will be sponsoring a business trip.
This is because if the land line is used, the company representative may not be in the office to receive the call when the ECO makes calls to the company.
Is there anyone there in a similar situation who used mobile contact & was successful?
