PoliticsRe: Senate Lacks Constitutional Power To Reject Magu, Says Falana by Abidx22(m): 5:29am On Apr 03, 2017
factsandfigures:
Bros I am annoyed and disappointed that respected Lawyers like Falana and Sagay cannot openly tackle and condemn the so called cabal or Kitchen cabinet of PMB. Is PMB still in charge? Do we honestly expect the Senators to ignore the DSS reports on Magu and confirm Magu.......? I have my reservations about the integrity of most of the Senators but it will be wrong for me to condemn them in the case of Magu. As per the position of the constitution, I will advice you study carefully the EFCC Acts.
The only thing the president can do for now is to retain Magu in acting position....But with the unyielding position of the DSS on Magu, I doubt if it will be expedient for the president to retain Magu and DSS head at the same time....that will be very weak and clueless. One of the two has to be dropped. That is the only way PMB can convince the World that he is in charge
Kudos to you bro for the almost convincing argument placed up there. But let's look at it from this angle, what if the DSS happened to be the lesser evil compared to the Nigerian Senate? Besides, I think coming out and openly criticising this so called kitchen cabinet might not augur well for the image of the executive arm of government. Rather than coming all out and bashing Daura and Co, I think the onus lies on their Principal, PMB, to arrest the coup within his inner cabinet.
Finally, no matter what the EFCC Acts says, I believe constitutional provision supersedes it.

Deji stood behind her as she handed her ticket and passport to the beautiful desk clerk at the counter, a sense of urgency and impending doom pressing in on him.

“Are you checking that in?” The lady asked, pointing at Liz’s suitcase.

“No, it’s the only bag I have and I’m taking it with me on the plane.”

The lady weighed her suitcase and tagged it, then she handed back her passport, ticket and boarding pass. “Have a wonderful trip ma.” She said with a smile.

Liz smiled and stepped aside for Dr Deji to check the big bag in and collect his boarding pass. He smiled back and handed his passport to the lady. He was visibly shaken. He turned his head towards the departure hall entrance and Dino waved at him. He was torn between the devil and the deep blue sea.

If you don’t put it in her bag, they will find it on you. Ella’s words echoed in his ears as they moved away from the check-in counter. They still had over one hour before boarding, but he didn’t feel comfortable having weird Dino staring at him, watching his every move around the lounge.

He moved closer to Liz and took the suitcase she was pulling along. “Let me help you with your bag.”

“No! You have your own bag, besides, I enjoy pulling it around. Where are we going now?”

“Em...em...we are going towards em...the boarding gate...terminal now. We’ll go through immigration and custom check.” The words felt heavy in his mouth, and the feeling of guilt became overwhelming. It’s either me or you, one of us is going to be nabbed with drug today, he thought.

“Fine.” She said with an innocent smile, basking in the euphoria of travelling abroad. Suddenly, her cell phone vibrated in the back pocket of her black jeans. She checked the caller ID and smiled. “Tobi, how are you?...we are heading towards the plane o...ha, your exam slip and school id card? Ta ni ki n fun? Ha!” She was almost shouting into the phone.

“What is it, Liz?” Dr Deji asked, all eyes on them.

“Tobi ni o, he left his id card and exam slip in this suitcase and his junior waec starts tomorrow! He wants me to drop it with someone here so my other brother that lives in Lagos will come pick it and send it through a public transport.”

Dr Deji suddenly pulled her hands, drawing her closer to himself.“Tobi’s slip is very important, let’s abort this trip and drive back to Ibadan right now.” He turned around and saw Dino staring hard at him as if he overheard their conversation. Damn the consequence
, he thought.

Liz had mixed feelings. On the one hand, she wanted to go back to Tobi and Darasimi, to be there for her children. On the other hand, she was this close to travelling overseas and he must have invested so much on the trip. “No way, Deji, I think we should go on this trip. Please, I really will love to.” She pleaded with her eyes.

“Are you really sure you want to go on this trip?” Deji asked, different thoughts running riots in his mind.

Liz took his hands and smiled reassuringly, “Yes, I really want to.”

She rummaged through the suitcase and pulled out the brown envelope with Tobi’s slip and ID card.

,“Let me have your suitcase. I’ll wait here while you look for someone you can hand it over to, so we can call your brother and tell him who to look out for.”

"Can we go look for someone together? You know better than me. I don't want to go where I'm not allowed to o, please." Liz pleaded.

A part of him hated seeing her go through that stress, but the other part had a plan to carry out. "You are a woman, you stand a better chance of getting someone to help you than a man. Especially in this bomb era."

She nodded in understanding. "I understand, let me go alone."

“Thanks for understanding.” He stretched his hands towards her suitcase and grabbed it fast before she changed her mind.

She handed him her suitcase with a smile and headed towards the door.

Dr Deji smiled back and pulled the suitcase towards a vacant seat.

PoliticsRe: Senate Lacks Constitutional Power To Reject Magu, Says Falana by Abidx22(m): 7:57am On Apr 02, 2017
factsandfigures:
Is it old age that is affecting Falana or he is desperate to get patronage from the presidency? Gani Fawhemin will be turning in his grave. Why is Falana and Professor Isagay shying away from telling the truth that it was the DSS and the presidency that doesn't Magu to be confirmed?

It is rather sad that these ex legal icons are behaving like charge and bail lawyers!
So sad you seem to have blocked your mind from the behind the scene machinations called naija politics perpetrated by the so called kitchen cabinet of PMB.
Back to the matter raised by the legal luminary, is it a crime for stating the obvious as provided for in the constitution?

When politics become an instrument of self agrandizement, it becomes odorous and suffocating and the part to the utilitarianism of Jeremy Bentham becomes cloudy and steep.

dhardline:
Prayer does go a long way especially if the foundation is built properly. Most relationships that start with sex can make both parties not to see each other's faults or rather think they can manage the faults. Marriage is really hard work and for me my major desire is to marry a lady who sincerely loves God cause when you really love God then you can be reasoned with no matter the situation.
You just hit the nail on the head. BTW, loving God is a responsibility of the two parties to a marriage.
FamilyRe: Why Do Things Change After Marriage? by Abidx22(m): 6:36am On Mar 26, 2017
All but one major issue is left untouched which to me is the most important reason why a marriage might crumble without it seeing the light of the day. This hotcake for a successful marriage is PRAYER. We seem blindfolded by love and an atmospheric expectation that we fail to commit our affairs unto the hand of our LORD before forging ahead believing that things will automatically play out. My people marriage is not a movie or some Hollywood stunt but rather a reality show hanging around our neck.

Otunba sprinted up the stairs to Ella’s office in unrestrained anger. He had driven down to Lagos in a fury. He opened the door of her office without acknowledging the secretary’s greetings.

“Oh, look who is here.” Ella said with a smile.

“What is this, Ella?” He handed her a printed email, the subject of his unscheduled visit to Lagos this Monday morning.

“Sit down, sweetheart.” Ella walked over to him and held his hands, looking at him apologetically. “I thought this was a better way.”

“Otunba snatched his hands from hers in anger. “I told you to let me handle this my way. How dare you send an email to my daughter, telling her you are her birth mother? You only forgot to tell her you dumped her two weeks after you brought her into this world.”

“I’ve tried meeting her to chat with her several times, but she has always avoided my advances, courtesy of your miserable wife,” She said in anger. “I need her to enjoy my wealth.”

“Look, it’s okay. But I’d appreciate it if you allow me handle it from here. Believe me, I've already set the machineries in motion at home.” Otunba said uneasily. Isabella had the key to everything he dreamt of. The good cars, the big houses, the trips abroad. That exotic beauty. The good life. Liz on the other hand was a complete woman; a good wife, a good mother, a good friend and confidant, but satisfied with poverty. He was not. For two months now, his life had witnessed a beautiful turn around and he was determined to keep it that way. If it meant tolerating some of Ella’s excesses, then so be it.

Ella smiled seductively. “That’s okay, I trust you.”

“And you are looking so sexy today. Hope you are not trying to attract other men.”

Ella simply smiled and shrugged her shoulders in response.

Otunba looked at the sexy woman who held his hands. ‘If only Liz is half as stunning as you are.’ He thought as he kissed Ella deeply in the mouth. Her lips felt so soft he shuddered with desire. Sometimes, he felt like he was remotely controlled by Ella.

Ella cat-walked to the shelves that lined a large part of the walls of her office, pulled out an envelope from one of the top shelves, rummaged through and handed him his travelling passport. “Here, we start our tour of the world from New York City.”

I don't know why you are allergic to my simple explanation here. The contract for the delivery of all these tablets has alreadybeen consorted out to some vendors here in Nigeria:patiti, techdadday, beta, hp, zinox etc. The delivery of these tablets depend solely on the number of requests for each gadgets. at the end of the device selection period the vendors would have gotten the number of pple that requested for hp, tecno etc. It would be completely superstitious in this contest to believe the vendors has ran out of stock becos of some programming hitches on the portal. so fela what is so ambiguous abt my explanation now. just put on you lenses and flash tru my initial post.
Then again, why is it that npvn seems to be their one making the choices. What majority of people whom I have come across told me the device that npvn sent to them through their email as their choice is not what they initially requested for on their dashboard.
