please, like how many watt will a 1hp INVERTER AIR-CON draw from an inverter system and will it have any dangerous effect if the system is 12volts?
My FIRMAN 1.1 Horsepower Inverter Air-Con Consumes 600watts on the average using the GenLink power saving mode, but using the Turbo mode it consumes up to 1200watts, I would prefer to go with a 24v or 48v Solar system for best performance with regard to less worries about wiring and other issues

And risk getting prosecuted by the government for "creating a micro dam" and trying to create an easy life for himself and possibly open the eyes of other citizens. I don't think that option comes with the freedom associated with solar generation which has a much less, nearly negligible footprint on the environment.

If no be for God, the government would have legislated to have all solar enthusiasts prosecuted except they seek operating licences which has to be regularly renewed. Then you will see them create a task force that will be invading neighbourhoods to check roofs that have panels on them. They will count the numbers of panels and use that to calculate the rough estimate you will pay. Failure to pay, you risk getting your panels carted away, while the task force operatives will auction them to themselves at ridiculous prices or to other buyers while they keep the money/auction proceeds for themselves. Some may decide to start making illegal money from there as they offer you to pay an off the record stipend for them to "look away" so that you get to escape paying for an operating licence or its renewal. Boom, another illegal money making rachet is created. You will also start seeing a few neighbours who will start ratting out to the government those in their streets that are installing panels. I can just think of a dozen ugly, discouraging scenarios that can crop up from such legislation.l, as far as Nigeria is concerned.

And creating a mini dam is not as easy as it sounds. The finances, the environmental impact assessment of such structure and the resultant wàhálà from the government is not what one individual can bear, well except you are Dangote who is a government backed "businessman".
Yes there are some legal considerations required with regard to doing any power project depending on how many watt you intend to generate, But you see Solar na heaven sent, As long as solar goes cheaper it should become just as breathing air no amount of Govt manipulation can stop it, its a strong force backed by nature! The hope is that Solar becomes more affordable for all, im following some research procedures as regards better and cheaper battery Chemistry na matter of time before the Energy revolution take place!

edit: walai i go break anybody leg wey go climb my roof in the name one illegal jagajaga

Good Day Nairaland,

I am trying to go solar based on the current reality around the Diesel cost to run my shop. Please help with the calculation of what is required for the following equipment, these are 3phae equipment except the lighting and the fans.

1. Lighting - 800W (12hrs, more at night)
2. Fans - 500W (18hrs)
3. Chiller - 2000W (12hrs)
4. Mixer - 6500W (12hrs)
5. Divider - 2000W (12hrs)
6. Moulder - 2500W (12hrs)
7. Oven - 3500W (12hrs)
8. Slicer - 650W (12hrs)
9. Computers - 150W

Please, note that the 12hrs is estimated to be 6hrs - day and 6hrs Night time.
I do know the initial cost may be high but I might be able to get finance for it.

If you stay in a place where you have access to good flowing water you could create a mini/micro dam where you install a turbine propelled by the force of water, Its the cheapest way to generate electricity at the moment!

your total load is about 15kw and you hope to run it for 12hrs, a 15kwh lithium bank is about 1,5m naira and would power this your humongous load for approximately 1hr only......thus you would need 13 to 15 pieces to power your load for 12hours, so that's 25m naira alone on battery. the solar panels required to recharge this humongous load is about 70kw of solar panels will cover 1 plot of land, ie 100ft x 100ft area space.

350w panel is about 80k, you would be needing minimum of 200 pieces, wch is another 16m naira on panels...assuming you have the space to install them, as each panel is about 6ft x 3ft, ie 18sqft approximately

edit: you would need about 3600 sqft of space to install the panels, so you need a 38ft x 100ft plot of land == 1/3 plot of land approx. This area would be greatly reduced, if you go for higher capacity panels 400w and above

if all this cost is still within your budget...say Aiii, grin.
WITH THE DAY AND NIGHT LOAD DISTRIBUTION, YOU CAN juggle and see if having excess panels would be cheaper than installing the recommended battery capacity.

solar is not cheap in the short-term..its only longterm that solar gets cheap..you usually break even as from 2yrs for most setups

Wow , this one na federal government budget o, quite insightful info though, truly solar is quite expensive upfront, but cheaper as the days go bye....

Was that how yours did before working? I can't fathom why they are not taking the IDs. And I have done countless such verifications at other platforms.
I opened mine last year it wasn't too stressful but had a couple of retakes, just keep trying,

At what point did you use ACH and wire option for your Alibaba payments, or you simply send money in your USD wallet?

Did you use USD to USD transfer? Alibaba use JP Morgan bank in Singapore not US.

Please details steps if possible

For Alibaba payment wire transfer (SWIFT) is what i used.
ACH was for a different purpose.
Yes USD to USD (Same currency) transaction,

Cool.

1. Did you fund your Wise prior to making the wire transfer or you just used your account details while they charge directly from there? If yes, did you fund via naira account or Dom account?

2. Have you made payment with Wise to a bank in the US?

I have been trying to make wire payment via banks for weeks and recently they asked me to fill the form M stuff which I haven't had time for.

I intend to try Wise as I read you made a successful payment with it. So I just opened account with them.

1. Yes i funded my wise usd account using virtual usd cards from Barter,Payday, etc, they did not accept my normal Usd card connected to my dom account!

2. Yes i have tried payments using ACH and wire transfer both were successful

Yes i requested and got a USD Debit card for my Sterling bank Dom account and Alibaba rejected the card i applied for appeal Alibaba still rejected the Card so im left with the option of Wire transfer, i just opened GTB Dom account i will try their card to see if it works for future purpose.
Now i used wise.com to make the wire transfer and its still in process i hope it is successful though

Echoing @Valto's point, you may consider buying it in Naija.

USD rates these days is not as favourable as it used it. Also many banks no longer have great monthly USD rate with many stopping in March.

I heard (not sure) Zenith is now 20USD/month.

Access is now ₦550/$

First bank at ₦499.99

I think the only guys with better rate now is GTB @ ₦490/$ and capped at $100/month...so you'll need like 9 cards shocked to pay for your 8 batteries.

Do not consider using air freight, you are better off buying it in Naija especially considering you are buying like 8.

But if you still want to go ahead, consider using sea shipping ETA like 4 months.

Payment has been a big pain for me,all the cards i tried were rejected by Alibaba , the worst after sourcing for USD at the rate of 585-600 Naira to a Dollar i loaded my Domiciliary account with 2500 usd i went to the bank to make wire payment, and the Bank told me i have to get form M for my own money in My account again o i nearly weep for Naija i left the bank in anger, Since Air freight is faster and the people to handle it will handle Custom clearance i settled for that! thanks for the info but do we have dealers in Lifepo batteries where i can go to get the batteries?

i can imagine the kind of stress u will go through, just to import 8pcs 280ah cells. i will advise u buy those cells in Nigeria. infact it will be cheaper for you.
I still dey on the matter o, very stressful, but which seller in Nigeria has 280 AH lifepo battery?

Payment method shouldn't be a problem. I've once made payment on Alibaba with 10 cards grin

Alibaba sellers are not AliExpress, dudes can do virtually anything to get their hands on that USD.

Shipping too shouldn't be an issue...if time spent to get to you ain't.

Cheers
maybe it used to be easy then or im not getting things right, I've settled for air freight costing almost more than the battery itself.
I tried paying with my virtual usd cards for multiple attempts now and even paypal that works for every other international transaction is being declined at Alibaba, the thing just d stress me!
Im looking at using International wire transfer now
