This is not a biggie at all. You are sweating unnecessarily. The letter will suffice for the receipt. And you can print the receipt and send to CIC. Both are one and the same thing.
Can I still send it to them now? since the deadline given to me has elasped..2017/06/08
Watapen na? What mistake did you make? [/

I Sent a mail to my school requesting for a reciept. Two days after they replied with a confirmation letter which states on it "The International Education office extends a warm welcome to all international students who would be attending Conestoga college in 2017/2018
This acknowledges receipt of your fees in the amount of $13,462.56CAD to reserve your place in the computer application security program..so i sent this confirmation letter as proof of having paid tuition fees to CIC. Today I just found out that when the school sent me the confirmation letter, a receipt was also uploaded on my account on the student portal for download shocked shocked meaning It was the receipt I was supposed to send not the confirmation letter I think...mehn the sweat wey dey grip me for here ehn

GermanDreamer:
congrats & successful life to everyone that recently got approved..those delayed restrategize, fire and fire. if the firing don 4much, seek for other good study destinations if you can.. I also read from U.S study thread from one moniker @prof... who tried Canada and got rejected trice(3) or so but just last 3weeks, he got his U.S study visa for his masters study (U.S and Canada are brother and sister) cheesy ..same as @maziude you all know here who tried several study destinations as he posted on here and landed his-self in China but today see the dream of Canada has been achieved by going for his PHD in Canada with full funding etc. (as I use my forex calculator calculate his funding money yesterday, my head burst shocked )..

In essence, it is later than never, staying back in Naija is never the best.

Thank God for internet and technology for knowing Nairaland and the intelligent and intellectual bodies we meet on here on daily/routine basis. we are ahead of our mates because of the information and connection(you&I) have here which those in the outside world don't have. Some Rich men/ business mogul are richer and richer today because of the information and connection they have in the physical/real world which is similar to our situation on Nairaland travel forum.

Finally, we should stop this verbal fighting/attacking. Fighting for your very own opinion to be heard when the receiver afterwards carefully goes to his/her bedroom to compare&contrast, investigate and choose which to take, so why verbally fighting on here. If you want to air an opinion or give suggestions, be confident, thoughtful and air correct information. False/incorrect/misleading/hearsay is not an acceptable information rather facts,evidence,experience/meaningful intellectual suggestion is the key information on a sensitive forum like this.

People are enriching agents with N500k,200k,1million just for mere study visa, so lets appreciate one another here. Scambustas kudos!

I may understand the tension is high for the ''awaitees'' here. some of us here have nothing doing/idle which brings about constantly frequenting here at every minute and hour. In this case, If you feel tensed/anxiety, instead of to attack verbally on any forum like this if you got zero(0) tolerance, engage yourself in your church activities, go to gym, in the evening for guys, hang-out with your paddies and take some bottles, don't get drunk before you begin talk the one wey dem no ask you cheesy , go to swimming, for the ladies, you can visit your boyfriends have good times, if you never do CIC medicals go with protection incase of incasity cos cheating rampant this days or if the boredom don much, call/visit your favorite female friends and engage in gossips cheesy. go to weekend market/chopping for your parents. you may also go to film houses and see movies by this the HBP or tension is stepping drastically. if refused visa, it is devastating but hold back and console yourself, then fire back even if it means exploring other options..

God bless you all and especially Nairaland.
Nice write up brother

What was your misrepresentation about How did you handle it? Thanks.
I was refused a US visa in 2005 even though my dad was the principal applicant. So I explained to CIC telling them I wasnt the principal applicant then and because I was just 13 years old then, I didnt know the implication was that the refusal affected me too cause my dad included the whole family when he was applying.

I responded to CIC mail as regards proof of funds transfer on 29/05/17...sent my tuition receipt and a bank draft of $10,000 cad. now the thing is my tuition for 1 year is $14,000 CAD and I have already paid about $13,325 CAD...still have about $600 CAD to complete my tuition..As CIC say make we pay entire tuition .....Please I need an advise to know how to go about this? my Dad is saying I should scan and send them his bank statement...please gurus in the house advice a brother. Below is part of the mail sent to me

 Due to currency controls in effect in Nigeria, you must provide proof of having paid your entire tuition for the first academic year AS WELL AS one of the following: 1) a letter from a Canadian financial institution stating that living expenses for the upcoming academic year* are on deposit in the your name and a bank statement for the Canadian account; 2) a bank draft in foreign convertible currency for living expenses for the upcoming academic year* made payable to you; or 3) written assurance from the your bank that living expenses for the upcoming academic year* are on deposit and can be exported under the Central Bank of Nigeria’s forex control policies. *For greater clarity, “living expenses for the upcoming academic year” means $10,000 CAD for 12 months or, if your course is shorter than 12 months, $833 CAD for each month of study. This must be received at this office by: 2017/06/08

Very quick question house and gurus
My full first year tuition is $15,780 CAD which was what I filled in the funds transfer form in my bank from here in Nigeria....

After much much the school sent me RECEIPT quoting that amount received was $15,551 CAD which approximately remains $300 CAD to complete for the whole year fees quoted in my LOA probably because of the exchange rate or a few factors

MY QUESTION : Can I use this submit this receipt as evidence of payment of tuition fee for the first year?

Hope I have not misrepresented anything sha?

Cc: @austinepee4 @maziude @yemdogg @nelly28 @mcobex
I also have this same challenge. After paying an equivalent of $14,000 cad through the funds transfer form... the school sent me receipt of $13,462.56CAD meaning i still have about $695.74 to complete my fees for the whole year but i still sent cic the receipt like that. I just hope and pray CIC does not make a case out of this
