I applied via drop box to renew my usa visa and I stated I was going for medicals. 221g letter was sent to me and I rescheduled for interview. Unfortunately a week to my interview I had pre term labour at 6 months and they could not keep the baby since he was not up to 7 months. I reschedule my interview due to health reasons after delivery.


Today I went for my interview at Abuja consular.


VO: When last did you go the usa.
me: 2013

vo: how long did you stay?
me: 2 to 3 weeks

vo: for what ?
me: Christmas holiday

vo: who do you know?
me: my brother

vo: how did he get to usa:
me: visa lottery

vo: I can see you wanted to stay for three months, why?
me: so I explained how i lost my baby at 6 months just before the interview, so i rescheduled.

vo; what does you husband do, how much does he earn?
me: I answered her.

vo: what do you do?
me: answered

vo: I can see you earn ......
me; yes i do and my salary has been upgraded this month to......


vo: will you have a baby within the next two
me: yes course.

vo: will use like to give birth in the us
me: yes, if docrots gves me the go aheda to travel, due to my history.

VO: What countries have you visited
me: Uk,France, Spain, Luxembourg, Netherlands ,Belgium, Uae, Gambia, Benin rep..etc

vo: okay, i will be giving you this visa,please pay all your bills and do not accept any discount. get your itemized bills and all the necessary receipts.
me: yes i will

me: I asked her if i needed to inform them when next I get pregnant, she said no, but i should declare it at the point of entry, and have enough funds to cover my treatment.

Thank you lord for this victory, and for doing something for me to wipe away my tears.

Went for my Interview this morning.. Abuja Embassy
Interview was slated for 7:30am got there 6am around 7am we went in did the Normal process..
By 8:40am i think i was called to window 9 for interview..

Here is my Transcript..

Me- to attend my cousins graduation in Maryland.
VO- Are you Married or Single?

VO- where do you work?
Me- XYZ company

Didn't even want to ask further info or docs
Them been don decide am sef before the interview
Bcus the VO was not even paying attention to what i'm saying
The ones i saw before leaving them no give anybody except one old man nd him wife nd also one elderly woman

You don't need photo copies of any documents.
Don't staple anything to your passport, except I got that wrong.
Have Clean Clear Passport Photographs.

If you read recent past transcripts, you will see the steps and process from when you arrive till when you leave

In other news I had my 221g appointment today for 9am in Abuja and I got the visa. With a few questions asked I think they only wanted to see my face
But most people that I saw this morning o weren’t issued visas, pink papers everywhere with them, I had to stand all through and it wasn’t nice all all , from the verification to the interview I was in my toes.

Please what was the step as you got there? Mine is 7:30am tomorrow how early do you think i should be there to reduce queue?

Oga please in your own interest, go with whatever document you think might be asked for in the course of your interview..........Or don't you want the Visa?

How do i know what Extra documents will be asked for pls? Apart from my int passport, Invitation letter, Ds Form , visa reciept and appointment confirmation slip... i'm going to attend my cousin's Graduation in May
Ps: from most people's interview receipt here they didn't ask for more documents than i stated it was more of a conversationation stuff than documents..

But please i will like to know if u feel more documents may be required i await your response..

Can i just go with these documents only passport, iv , work ID, and leave permission letter from my company
Going for a Graduation in may and i'm the one sponsoring and my salary is 140k

Arrived 1045am
Parked in 2nd car park just before Seattle Apartment.
Waited till 1115am
Car Park is N1000
Carried my file folder containing
1. DS160 Confirmation
2. CGi GTB Payment (Please print or download when you pay. Tried accessing it on GTB Internet platform 3 months after and it was unavailable)
3. Appointment Confirmation
4. Bank Statements (Downloaded PDF Stamped and Signed - didn't have funds to pay GTB for print out)

Walked to the Entrance with the covered roof.
Spent about 40mins outside.
We were asked to bring out from folders/envelope and put items 1-3 inside passport. Do not fold.

Entered gate. Emptied pocket. Was searched.
Moved to 2nd security dude who made us drop all items in plastic and scanned for prohibited items.

Joined a queue where CGi staffs checked to confirm appointment and documents.
Name crossed on a print out.
Proceeded to CGi staff with laptops
Stickers placed in front and behind passport.
Made to sit in a holding area.
Time was 1230pm

1pm we were moved through front gate, across the road to Consulate

Removed belt. Placed all items in plastic and passed through x-ray.

Exit through doors to compound.

Enter main building.

Another security table cross check docs and stickers.

Joined a line for "Intake", passport only requested for.
My online passport photograph wasn't too clear, gave a physical one that was scanned and uploaded to replace unclear one.

Joined 2nd queue for finger printing.

Place passport on glass at booth. They scan the rear sticker with a hand scanner.

Left had first. 4 fingers. Right hand second. 4 fingers. Thirdly, both thumbs. On clear, joined interview queue. 234pm

Saw plenty interview go good, and plenty go bad.

My turn. Got a female consular officer.

Asked for my passport.

Tough one though, but there is no gain saying it wont work...

You need like stiffer and more concrete answers and replies that baffles the VO, mesmerize them and show some quality!

I am in no way disputing your simple approach to travelling, but this guys just want reasons not to give you the visa and you are there to give them that reason why they should, so you see that there should be more, am sure the 2014 UAE stamp wont be on that very passport?

But all in all, Pray and do a Psalm that better fits your condition if your are a christian! surely.

Lol.. I can elaborate my replies tho if that's the case.. Also i will be going with my Old Passport that has the UAE stamp.. And just as you said las las it is grace that qualifies where one is unqualified. PS: yes i'm a Christian.

6. First for graduation and after that do some sight seeing with my uncle as it will my first time going to the US.

I will tell you something...

The Visa is completely on your answers and application (DS-160), Your composure. If you used an agent, make sure he gives you a copy of what he filled in your DS-160 form, so that your answers are in tandem to the filled.

Be positive, ...
Have a good reason to give for having to travel for Just graduation, a Man once jokingly said "America is a great country that's why he wants to visit'. Don't sound like everyone when asked a question that require some affluence of your mind.
Don't answer with too much words unless you have to explain.

3. The invitation Letters would accompany you (Though may not even be asked in Most cases).

4. Statement Account is basically for who is Funding the trip. (Take the appropriate)

1.That was the earliest date available when i was booking..

Please i have an interview at Abuja Embassy on the 21st of March, my cousin is inviting me for her graduation in May and the invite carries the school's letter headed paper also her dad which is my Uncle also sent me an Invitation to come and visit amd attend his daughter's graduation who is my Cousin.
Now on my DS form here are some informations i filled
I'm single
I work as an Admin officer with a private contracting and Supply firm that belongs to my father..
I'm 24 years a Graudate
I earn 140k monthly
I have travelled to UAE once
I'm paying for my trip
Please what are my Chances based on these info? i'm aware that the way i answer interview questions also matters. Also pls is it compulsory to go with a Bank statements and do they collect it? please i await your response guys.. Thanks
