Below is my Visa timeline. (Priority)

Application - Dec 8th
Biometrics and interview - Dec 12, 2019
Decision made- Dec 18, 2019
Pick up- Dec 30, 2019.

My interview was quite short. Was asked just 3 questions.
1. Why UK?
2. Why the school?
3. Why the course?

Documents submitted - Bank statement, CAS, Certificate, Transcript, Normal IELTS ACADEMIC test report, Tb test result, Oanda conversion printout.

I also used an official support letter from my father (optional since I used my account statement) and I submitted my Nysc posting letter to explain my 1 year gap. (Also optional.)

TLS only observed 25th and 26th as their holiday. They worked on Friday, 27th.

Not TLS Abuja though. Because I was there.

I don't know about Lagos but I assume they follow the same time table. For the past two weeks that I've been going there, the notice was pasted around the offices. 25, 26, 27th and Jan 1st.

Also note, TLS is different from UKVI.

I submitted my application since 4th Dec, 2019 at TLS Abuja. I was told that my application will take approximately 15 working days which was to elapse on 24th Dec, 2019 and I contacted the UKVI office at an extra cost on Friday 27th Dec and was told that my application has been treated and sent back to TLS but I haven't heard anything from TLS. I got a number (08020581173) online and it seem like it's a scam. I'm confused and really upset about TLS service. I have a deadline to meet and It's looking like I won't be able to meet up with this their unreliable service. Please can anyone assist me with a reliable contact for TLS?

Dec 24th was the day before xmas and since 25th, tls has been on holiday. So it isn't about unreliable service in your case. Relax and have faith. By this week hopefully.

You can't book an appointment if your bank statement hasn't matured to 28 days. It's automatic cause for denial.

Why don't u Print it on 30th or 31th and apply for ur Visa immediately.

If I may correct, The rules says your Statement must not be more than 31 days on the day of your application.
If u print it on 6th that 34 days later.

No, you misunderstand this statement. What It means is your bank statement must not be more than 31 days old.

Meaning a bank statement printed on Nov 1st is no longer valid in December.

Its not about your bank statement covering more than a period of 31 days.

Applied or did interview? I did my biometrics and interview on the 12th (Prority) and nothing yet. Probably on Monday.

clarity on the one year masters ish has been made... error accepted...my forte is on masters exceeding one year...

It's not about forte really. A 2 years masters exceeds one year also and the same rule still applies.

If you're doing a full 1 year masters or full 2 years masters. You'll have to add 150 for the extra 4 months that'll be given to you after your course. That's just the simple calculation.

Your masters is 16 months + the automatic 4 months extra making it 20 months. So you're still within 2 years that's why its 600. Because its 300 per year.

Nah. I've been there today. Was told to come back on Monday. Its pasted in their offices. 25, 26, 27th is public holiday for them. And then 1st of January too

This is just what it is. Paid for priority to avoid long wait and yet will have to wait for more than 2 weeks now because VAC has officially closed today for the week.

Until next week now before there can be any update. When Ukvi claims the decision has been made since last week Thursday. Yet nothing on Friday, Monday and now today.

Lol! That tracking needs improvement. Since 13th, it has only checked the first 3.

At least there should be Decision made, in transit to VAC, then we can understand its Lagos traffic that's holding it down.

Has it checked any other stage apart from the first three?

No, it isn't. If that thing is so important and essential to your application, you can try contacting ukvi.

Sorry I got you confused. I was referring to ielts academic. Of course they don’t accept general for academic purposes. I only just found out there’s another one called ielts for ukvi.

If you're going for a degree level and above course. You dont need a SELT which is what Ielts ukvi is.

As long as your Higher Education provider has accepted it, you're good to go.

You can help him or her with the admission since I don't know the difference and he does not too.

Well, It is a simple question if what the poster asked was Ielts general. What they asked was "regular academic" (in the person's words) and according to the rules on ukvi. Normal ielts academic is allowed for degree level and above. It doesnt have to be ielts ukvi.

I understand what the poster @sen2paco is asking, but do you? Because you just said only academic is allowed. And what the poster is asking is if regular Ielts academic is allowed or If it has to be Ielts ukvi which are two different things.

It's not a quarrel or a matter of me helping the poster secure admission. I'm just stating what is on the Ielts website and the ukvi tier 4 guidance pdf.

Hello, I just called Ukvi about my application and the rep told me that a decision hasn't been made on my application since 25th nov standard, I just got a mail now that my application wasn't straightforward and I can't get a decision within the service target ..please has any had this issue before?..I'm scared..

Have you had a refusal before? That's frequently the reason but not always. Its not an unusual thing. Just be patient anf pray. It will be fine by God's grace.

Yeah but it depends, have you gone for your biometrics and interview? If not, there might be hope yet. You can pay for assisted service, so you can upload the additional document.

I received a mail from TLS an hour ago that my passport is ready! I rushed down to TLS office here in Abuja. Picked it up!
VISA GRANTED!!!

Got admission and CAS from Bounemouth University.
Applied for Visa on 26th Nov!
Biometrics and Interview on 27th Dec!
Earlier today i called UKVI and they confirmed a descision has been taken already. In an hour time Tls mail came in.
Passport collected 1:20pm.!
I used Standard.
Visa was granted even after having Two student Visa refusals from Australia this year (Feb and August).

God is wonderful!!!! I dedicate this to him. Thank you guys. This forum is just so helpful and blessed. For those waiting for their Visa, may it be granted for you. Amen.

Nobody collect certificates from you.
Do a self service and upload during your application, only the school requires original copy at resumption.
You can carefully remove the lamination with blade.
Also, you can NEVER use general IELTS for UK Tier 4, did this person pass English at O'level? ask the school if they accept O'level English in lieu of IELTS.

Its not general ielts, its ielts academic. There is a difference and on Ielts site, its acceptable to use it if your your school accepts it and they are a higher education provider and on the UK sponsor list. I’m new here and have zero knowledge about this process. I do however know that there’re previous parts, but please reading all threads maybe very daunting. So I’m pleading, can I be lead through all I need to know about applying and getting a UK student’s visa?

Also I have a school in mind- London School of Commerce (LSC). Going for an MBA. Anyone here know anything about them. Should I be concerned? Any red flags?

Well, the person might not be able to guess the exact time but it's not about when you applied or when you submitted documents. There are quite a few schools like Teesside that gave spots to people that paid deposit early. If they are telling you that the January intake is full, then what it means is you didn't pay early enough which is what I assume the person is trying to point out.

I was also a victim of this, so I know. Its not anybody's fault per say. However, Teesside did wrong by not letting you know as soon as possible. They did send emails to people but due to a staff's mistake or negligence, you must have been ommitted. Not defending them but it's just for future readers to be able to know if they are picking schools like Teesside. (It is not a bad school but once admission time is getting nearer and you've not paid deposit, please ensure you contact the school before paying to avoid this situation.)

It's teesside university in middlesbrough, it's fairly ranked but it seems the classes re full for January intake...

Please don't be offended but I need to ask, did you get this email and still went ahead to pay the deposit? Cos as far as I know, people that hadn't paid deposit by a certain time were informed. So if you went ahead to pay after getting this email, you might not be able to really fault them.

The health surcharge I paid was £771 (2 years masters)

Visa with priority was £584


The £584 is 767 dollars, so that money is for Visa with priority alone. Not inclusive of health surcharge.
