i will rather take my time and wait until i have disposable income to buy a product that will enhance my viewing experience , than jump at one poorly supported 4k but really 1080p system with no x265 support because i want big tv by fire by force

i remember two years ago a friends pikin was ill and homebound. i have ALOT of movies, tv shows etc and i copied some for him to watch while at home.

i went as far as to ensure everything was mp4 x264 which i expect runs on everything

na so all this tv could play was avi files.

Hmm.. OK. I have been through three LG washing machines over 10 years. Haven't used hisense.

Hisesne is sold by fouani as a cheaper alternative to LG products.

As I said before a hisense product is between 50 to 75 % the cost of its LG equivalent

The ones sold in Nigeria are also 'African spec'.

So understand you are buying a product that is below LG in qualitu

The questions you should ask

Q1 are there local spares ( I have had motor and roller replaced)

Q2 - who are the end users ( my kids are not as disciplined about removing all those objects you should remove) if it is just you and you are discplined, product may last longer

Q3 - How serviceable is the machine?

Q4 - How long do you intend to use it?

You can always look for online reviews but that may not work as the Hisesne sold here are not oyibo market products

so this is the thing - Hisense TVs have a very very good reputation in the abroad - possibly because they are competing with LG and co
however - it seems they dont send their best stuff to african markets

sort of like your SA spec toyota vs your american spec toyota.

some of these things also depend on you as a person. i have learned i have to modulate my recommendations because somethings that are deal breakers for me, other will go with them

i cannot use a pc without ssd. but some peopel can. i cannot use laptop with anything less than full HD [1080p] but some peeps can go for SD 768p

i was at fouani in 2019 to buy a bigass tv. my mind was on either hisense of lg.

hisense tvs are normally 50-75% of LG cost - but bizarrely, the 70 inch models cost roughly the same

and that hisense TV OS - Vidaa - it looked like absolute shit compared to LG WebOS.

things like 4K, true black, ai upscaling they may be deal breakers for me - but if all you will do is watch dstv and dvds bought in traffic, you will be fine. but if you actually want to watch movies in blu ray quality and you dont want anything reducing the quality of your experience . . .

as it is today my eye is chooking for LG OLED TVs - i want that 120hz fresh rate/FPS while gaming
