Seeing news like this everyday, I believe God is about to pick my call regarding leaving Nigeria for a better country... Thank you O God |

By Jayamma Abanobi Last week, the 100,000-seater Glory dome was dedicated in Abuja amidst various shouts of joy and happiness. However, the news did not go down well with some who think the billions of naira spent on the massive edifice should have been channelled to building of industries and factories as most Nigerians are without jobs. Don’t get me wrong; the church is already an employer of mass employment in Nigeria. Bishop Oyedepo is reputed to have about 50,000 people under direct employment. However we are looking at the effects of the massive criticism Nigerian churches have faced regarding building expensive churches and cathedrals amidst the teeming poverty population in Nigeria. Though I don’t agree with this, (churches building more factories) because I think it is the duty of the Nigerian government to provide jobs, here are ten things that will happen if Nigerian churches start building industries instead of preaching the gospel! 1. They will be criticised: The fact remains, that no matter what you do, you cannot please everybody at the same time; some people will still be against you; and this is exactly what will happen if Nigerian churches bow to the pressure of building industries. People will come out and say things like “Why are you leading the congregation astray? Don’t you want them to make heaven? “You should build churches and give the people a good place to worship God” These statements and many more will abound if the Nigerian church actually start building industries. 2. Nigerian Government will become Lazier: Yes! Finally!! We have found someone that will do our jobs, all we have to do is carry out massive propaganda and keep the masses silent! Providing enough jobs has been something the Nigerian government has not been able to do for decades, majorly due to the in-depth corruption in the government. It will be answered prayers for them to get more corrupt when churches begin to build industries unless God touches their hearts to do otherwise. It can only take the hand of the almighty! 3. The Church Focus will be lost: The scriptures made it clear that Christ’s followers should go into the world and preach the gospel as recorded in Matthew chapter 28 verses 19. You can imagine a church solely focused on factories! Of course it won’t go down well with critics and besides the church will be ridiculed as a mere business enterprise. 4. The Church will be taxed: In Nigeria, religion bodies are not taxed. But if Nigerian churches start doling out factories instead of churches, the government will ensure they are taxed. This is true given the fact that billions will be freely flowing into the church. 5. More Employment: Sure, the unemployment rate in Nigeria will drop massively. Take a time and think of how it would be if Nigerian churches used the money meant for massive edifices and cathedrals to fund the building of factories! It will be really massive! But the question remains- What is the job if the Nigerian Government? 6. Unhealthy Competition: Due to the assumed fact that Nigerian churches now build industries, there will be a trending unhealthy completion by churches to outdo each other in building of factories or industries. Though with regards to the business world, this is a welcome idea; however it will not go down well with church leaders worldwide who will see this competition as a clear distraction from spiritual duties. 7. More Nigerians will become Christians: Take a look at the religion landscape in Nigeria; you will undoubtedly believe that the country is multi religious- divided almost equally between Christians and Muslims. Building factories by churches, (which is now a heated debate in Nigeria) will make Nigerians from other religions and beliefs to flock churches in a passionate bid to see that they are employed. Adversely, this will have a negative effect on the integrity some of these churches have already built. 8. Pastors will be richer: In the list of top ten richest pastors worldwide, a whooping five are Nigerians. This is not surprising because of the religious atmosphere in Nigeria. Building more factories/industries means more money will flow into the church and pastors will have more money. 9. Corruption Cases against Churches: Due to the fact that so much money will now be made by the church, corruption agencies like EFCC (Economic Financial Crimes Commission) will be keen to investigate churches and scandals could arise from such investigations. Leading to corruption cases opened up against the church and clergy. 10. Nigerian Government will become weaker: Currently, the Nigerian government slightly battles respect with religious bodies in Nigeria due to the fact that Nigerians are religious. In this, I mean most Nigerians prefer to obey religious leaders than the government. Doing the job of the government by building industries by churches will no doubt, snatch the little respect Nigerians have reserved for constituted authority; hence making the government weaker and less relevant. https://www./2018/11/top-ten-things-that-will-happen-if_28.html?m=1

Not to be taken literally though. This is a slang used to refer to Nigerian ladies(small girls) who have sugar daddies(big gods) who lavish them with expensive clothing, luxurious bags and money. Most times, when these girls post on social media, they refer to themselves as small girls with big Giod (God almighty) but we know better! lol Here are ten characteristics/facts they display and why any reasonable man should avoid them. 1. Materialistic Attitude: Whenever you try to take them out on a date, they go on a shopping spree, and they buy really expensive items; not careful enough to know if you have enough cash on you. Like parasites, they prey on an unsuspecting man, telling him they need to buy clothes, shoes and jewelry and when their demands are not met, they dump the man for another. Really bad 2. Complainers: You just met one of them, trying to get to know her; next thing she tells you is that she needs money to pay house bills, they complain and heap all their problems on you; expecting you to be her family savior; if you mistakenly say you cant provide help, they turn their backs on you and I am sure you will be stunned! 3. Gossips: They enjoy gossiping and they do it with so much joy and ego. They have friends and roommates back home who they tell about every single guy they encountered and how they manipulated him to spend so much on them. With these stories of success they tell, they inspire their other friends to imitate them and make some quick cash. 4. Religious: Honestly speaking, almost every Nigerian takes God serious. So don't be surprised when you see one of these shouting "The blood of Jesus" "Small girls with big gods" do not joke with prayers and they attend religious programs and events consistently; with the belief that God must be respected. 5. Immodest Dressers: They are known to flaunt their bodies, without any reservation and they do so with all pride. However it must be duly noted, that they do these to attract men who are willing to spend on them. Too bad. 6. Low Esteem: A lot of these girls, battle with depression and low esteem, many of them are not happy about the lifestyle they live; but the quest and desire to put food on the table is real; so in a passionate bid to escape poverty, they do what they know how to do best. 7. Date only Car owners: If you're broke, to own a car, clear the road! cause they wont take you serious. They don't date men without cars for reasons best known to them. The way they jump inside the front seat of a car that stops in front of them, you would marvel. They have this central belief "The better the car, the better he would lavish on you! 8. Generous Attitude: These ladies can be really generous, the fact that they make cool money from their sugar daddies does not mean they do not let go of some thousands of Naira to help fund school fees of their siblings or help solve a problem back at home. Sometimes, when they hit much money, they buy expensive items for their best of friends. 9. Good cooks: Yea, they cook well. I haven't tasted any but I have read stories where men go to their girlfriend's house for lunch; ignoring their spouses. What could that really entail if not that these ladies use well cooked foods to woo sugar daddies! 10. Unfaithful: The fact that they date numerous sugar daddies, solidifies this point. When they eventually get married, they find it difficult to stay faithful, and eventually most of their marriages ends in divorces. https://www./2018/11/top-ten-characteristics-of-small-girls.html?m=1 What do you think?

Reading books, is indeed fun. With wide ranging topics to choose from, the reader is left with no other choice than to choose the topics and categories that best suit him. However, some books are allegedly cursed and could contain some really dark, creepy facts. Here is a list of ten cursed books you should never read. 10. The Necronomicon The Necronomicon is one of many Cursed Books You Should Never Read Amino The Necronomicon is a cursed and nightmarish book that’s said to contain the power to resurrect the dead. Roughly translated, its title means ‘an image of the law of the dead’ and it is described as being bound in human skin. In the beginning, The Necronomicon was entirely fictional and existed only in the works of horror writer H.P. Lovecraft. But as its notoriety grew, real-life publishers took interest and decided to produce physical copies, which have taken various forms, including an extravagantly creepy pop-up book. This physical version of The Necronomicon contains many allusions to Lovecraft, and prominently features his mythical monster Cthulhu. It’s developed a reputation as one of the most haunted and unnerving printed works in the world. It’s even made a mark on pop culture and has appeared everywhere from the Evil Dead and Friday the 13th franchises, to the Afterlife with Archie comics! If you’re brave enough, you can visit Massachusetts’ Miskatonic University to check out the unabridged copy of The Necronomicon. 9. Cursed Books: The Orphan’s Story The orphan's Story is one of many Cursed Books You Should Never Read The Guardian The Orphan’s Story is an epic novel about a Spaniard who heads to the Spanish Empire seeking fortune. It was written between 1608 and 1615 by Martín de León y Cárdenas, a monk who broke his sacred vow. What’s remarkable about this novel is that it wasn’t actually published until 2018. It was almost published on several different occasions, but the publication fell through every time because those involved kept dying under mysterious circumstances. A Peruvian academic by the name of Belinda Palacios rediscovered the manuscript hidden deep in the archives of the Hispanic Society of America in 1965. When she began working on the book, colleagues warned her of the curse that was said to linger in the pages of the ancient script. While she tried to laugh it off, she couldn’t help but be deterred by the unusual deaths that surrounded the book. The deaths were caused by horrific car accidents and sudden and unexplainable illnesses. This, of course, informed the rumours that the book was indeed cursed, and it has taken over 400 years for someone brave enough to see the project through to completion. 8. The Book of the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage The book of sacred magic of Ambramelin the mage is one of many Cursed Books You Should Never Read Book Depository The Book of the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage is a three-part fifteenth-century book of mystic arts written by Abraham for his son Lamech. It was translated to English in the year 1900 and quickly developed a reputation for being cursed. Abraham believed that every person had their own unique ‘personal demon’. Through this book, readers could learn rituals that bring their personal demons under control. They could then learn to perform supernatural feats using sigils of magic words on a grid. But this book has a huge downside. It’s believed anyone with a copy in their possession will be haunted by spirits from another realm. They will also experience terrible luck that will ultimately bring about their demise. 7. Cursed Books: Untitled Grimoires The Cursed Grimoires is one of many Cursed Books You Should Never Read Abe Books In 2013, an online book seller sold two mysterious handwritten and spiral-bound spell books for a whopping $13,865. As the sale was being finalised, the seller warned that any non-believers who mess around with these books will bring a deadly curse upon themselves. It’s believed that a grimoire – or witch’s spell book – must be burned after the death of the witch who wrote it. These grimoires were written by a high priestess of Wicca named Persephone Adrastea Eirene sometime in the early 1960s. It’s thought that Eirene ran her own coven and was known in her local area as someone who was to be avoided. The two books are reworkings of her mother’s grimoire and contain vast collections of incantations, curses, spells and enchantments. There’s information on how to summon spirits, demons and other worldly entities as well as how to perform exorcisms should the spells go awry. It’s unknown if she’s currently alive or dead, but the first pages of her books explicitly warn readers: ‘To those not of the craft – the reading of this book is forbidden! Proceed no further or justice will exact a swift and terrible retribution – and you will surely suffer at the hand of the craft’. The buyer and location of the books is currently unknown. 6.
