Christianity EtcRe: Top Ten Things That Will Happen If Nigerian Churches Build Factories by Abjay97(op): 9:36am On Nov 29, 2018
correctguy101:
I for one don't expect churches to start building factories. And I'm sure the "build factories instead of churches " crew don't want that too for they should already know that any factory built by any religious body will only /mostly accept its members or try to coerce others into membership.

Its not the job of the churches to start building factories, its the job of every citizen and government. Although some churches already has institutions where many of the citizenry are gainfully employed(mostly members though)

Church matter too dey annoy some people and I dey wonder why. huh

America has lost 60,000 factories in the past 10 years, yet i don't see trump or his people calling on TD jakes or copeland or anyother of the 380,000 churches to come and build industries. The leadership of the country put on their thinking cap and went to work.

If you are waiting for churches to build industries in nigeria you would wait till Jesus comes

By Jayamma Abanobi

Last week, the 100,000-seater Glory dome was dedicated in Abuja amidst various shouts of joy and happiness. However, the news did not go down well with some who think the billions of naira spent on the massive edifice should have been channelled to building of industries and factories as most Nigerians are without jobs. Don’t get me wrong; the church is already an employer of mass employment in Nigeria. Bishop Oyedepo is reputed to have about 50,000 people under direct employment. However we are looking at the effects of the massive criticism Nigerian churches have faced regarding building expensive churches and cathedrals amidst the teeming poverty population in Nigeria.

Though I don’t agree with this, (churches building more factories) because I think it is the duty of the Nigerian government to provide jobs, here are ten things that will happen if Nigerian churches start building industries instead of preaching the gospel!

1. They will be criticised: The fact remains, that no matter what you do, you cannot please everybody at the same time; some people will still be against you; and this is exactly what will happen if Nigerian churches bow to the pressure of building industries. People will come out and say things like “Why are you leading the congregation astray? Don’t you want them to make heaven? “You should build churches and give the people a good place to worship God” These statements and many more will abound if the Nigerian church actually start building industries.

2. Nigerian Government will become Lazier: Yes! Finally!! We have found someone that will do our jobs, all we have to do is carry out massive propaganda and keep the masses silent! Providing enough jobs has been something the Nigerian government has not been able to do for decades, majorly due to the in-depth corruption in the government. It will be answered prayers for them to get more corrupt when churches begin to build industries unless God touches their hearts to do otherwise. It can only take the hand of the almighty!

3. The Church Focus will be lost: The scriptures made it clear that Christ’s followers should go into the world and preach the gospel as recorded in Matthew chapter 28 verses 19. You can imagine a church solely focused on factories! Of course it won’t go down well with critics and besides the church will be ridiculed as a mere business enterprise.

4. The Church will be taxed: In Nigeria, religion bodies are not taxed. But if Nigerian churches start doling out factories instead of churches, the government will ensure they are taxed. This is true given the fact that billions will be freely flowing into the church.

5. More Employment: Sure, the unemployment rate in Nigeria will drop massively. Take a time and think of how it would be if Nigerian churches used the money meant for massive edifices and cathedrals to fund the building of factories! It will be really massive! But the question remains- What is the job if the Nigerian Government?

6. Unhealthy Competition: Due to the assumed fact that Nigerian churches now build industries, there will be a trending unhealthy completion by churches to outdo each other in building of factories or industries. Though with regards to the business world, this is a welcome idea; however it will not go down well with church leaders worldwide who will see this competition as a clear distraction from spiritual duties.

7. More Nigerians will become Christians: Take a look at the religion landscape in Nigeria; you will undoubtedly believe that the country is multi religious- divided almost equally between Christians and Muslims. Building factories by churches, (which is now a heated debate in Nigeria) will make Nigerians from other religions and beliefs to flock churches in a passionate bid to see that they are employed. Adversely, this will have a negative effect on the integrity some of these churches have already built.

8. Pastors will be richer: In the list of top ten richest pastors worldwide, a whooping five are Nigerians. This is not surprising because of the religious atmosphere in Nigeria. Building more factories/industries means more money will flow into the church and pastors will have more money.

9. Corruption Cases against Churches: Due to the fact that so much money will now be made by the church, corruption agencies like EFCC (Economic Financial Crimes Commission) will be keen to investigate churches and scandals could arise from such investigations. Leading to corruption cases opened up against the church and clergy.

10. Nigerian Government will become weaker: Currently, the Nigerian government slightly battles respect with religious bodies in Nigeria due to the fact that Nigerians are religious. In this, I mean most Nigerians prefer to obey religious leaders than the government. Doing the job of the government by building industries by churches will no doubt, snatch the little respect Nigerians have reserved for constituted authority; hence making the government weaker and less relevant.

TravelTop Ten Places No Nigerian Has Ever Visited - by Abjay97(op): 6:52am On Nov 27, 2018
Travelling is no doubt fun.. If you are a thriller seeker; travelling to far away places is indeed the energy that drives excitement. There are places however that do not entertain much visitors. Some of these places are extremely remote while some accommodate the "permitted"

Nigerians are known to travel a lot; this is exceptionally true for the rich and wealthy, no doubt, majority of Nigerians cannot afford a trip abroad. I have done my research and here are ten places no Nigerian has ever been to.

1. Space: As of June 17, 2018, a total of 561 people have gone to space. As of November 6, 2013, a total of 536 people from over 40 countries have gone into space according to the FAI (Fédération aéronautique internationale) guideline. 62% of the world's space travelers, represented by 335 individuals, have come from the United States. USA and USSR or Russia were the major countries who have contributed in space work since the beginning years. Later, it was followed by many other countries, both developed and developing such as Germany, China, Japan, Canada, France, Italy and more. Unfortunately or rather should we say unluckily for Nigeria, no Nigerian has been to space. You could be the first to be there; but you got a lot of studying to do!

2. North Sentinel Island, India: This island is known to be a very creepy place. Thanks to the hostile natives who have resisted any form of civilization and till this day, they remain primitive. The North Sentinel Island is one of the Andaman Islands that politically belong to India. The island is known for picturesque pristine beaches and stunning nature. However, the native tribes are extremely hostile and violent toward any outsiders. They reject any contact with other people and have been even known to kill several intruders. No wonder the access to the island is strictly forbidden. Just last week, a missionary John Allen Chau, broke rules, and tried to reach out to the sentinelese; he was killed. So far, no known Nigerian has been there. Life is precious.

3. Snake Island, Brazil: Here in Nigeria, people eat snakes; and it is a popular delicacy especially among the locals. However snake island is a place no Nigerian wants to visit. This Brazilian island is home to thousands of highly venomus snakes. Ilha da Queimada Grande, also nicknamed Snake Island, is the only home to thousands of highly venomous golden lancehead pit vipers. The island is located about 90 miles offshore and access is strictly controlled by the Brazilian government. Experts' estimates claim that there is one snake for every three square feet in some spots. Annual visits by the navy to look after the lighthouse are always conducted with a doctor present as bites can cause internal bleeding, kidney failure, and death. Although the snakes are dangerous, the real reason the island is closed to the public is to protect the critically endangered snakes from poaching. No Nigerian even wants to be here!

4. Lascaux Caves, France: Recall what you learnt in history class about historic painting in france by the early men during the paleolithic age. These caves are highly secured due to the valuable prehistoric paintings they contain. These cave paintings have been traced back to 20,000 years ago! Sadly, the caves have been banned to the public since 1963, as they have been invaded by fungi and black mold, both detrimental to human health. Plus, human presence is considered destructive to the works of art. No Nigerian has been there.

5. Area 51, Nevada USA: Theorists and conspirators have numerous tales to tell about this place. Most notable of all, is that it is a base for aliens and UFO sightings! weird right? Area 51 is arguably one of the most secretive places on earth. Also known as Groom Lake, the United States Air Force base’s purpose remains unknown to the public, leading to wild speculations and conspiracy theories. It is commonly thought that top-secret aircraft and weapons technologies have been developed and tested in Area 51 since the facility was established by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in 1955. Others believe the area is home to numerous UFOs(unidentified flying objects) and that aliens are being held captive there! Although Area 51 was never declared a secret base, it took until 2005 for the U.S. government to publicly acknowledge its existence. Access to the area around Groom Lake, is controlled by vigilant surveillance and motion sensors, and is off-limits to civilians and the airspace above is a no-fly zone for commercial aircraft.

6. Qin Shi Huang, Xian China: Buried under a 250ft high hill, the tomb of China’s first emperor Qin Shi Huang, who died in 210 B.C., remains a mystery. The 1974 massive discovery of the life-size terracotta warrior army is one of the greatest archaeological finds of all times and lead to more than four decades of excavations. The grave of the emperor they are guarding and an estimated 6,000-8,000 additional warriors have remained undisturbed for more than two millennia. It is not likely that the tomb will be opened anytime soon, neither for scientists nor tourists. From booby traps mentioned in ancient literature to the large scale of the underground palace itself, it appears that no technology worldwide is ready to deal safely with the excavation. No Nigerian has been here.

7. Vatican Secret Archives, Vatican: Many Nigerians are catholics; but none has been allowed to visit the Vatican secret archives. These archives Contain important state papers, correspondence, papal account books, and many other significant documents which the church has accumulated over the centuries, the Vatican Secret Archives are among the most forbidden places in the world. In fact, it was not until 1881 when Pope Leo XIII finally allowed at least some researchers to view some of the contents. These days, only highly qualified scholars may apply for entry. Even then, there are very strict limitations to what accepted scholars can actually view.

8. Room 39, North Korea: Room 39 is a secret organization associated with the dynasty of the North Korean dictators, the Kim family. The department is believed to finance the family and top party officials with business ventures — some legitimate and some not — that include counterfeiting and drug-smuggling. The actual Room 39 is thought to be located inside a ruling Workers’ Party building in the capital city of Pyongyang. No Nigerian has visited this secret room.

9. Coca-Cola Vault, Georgia, US: Till date, No one knows for sure the secret formula involved in the production of Coca Cola, or Coke as known by most Nigerians. The legendary secret formula for Coca Cola, one of the world’s most highly regarded trade secrets, is kept in the Coca-Cola Vault in the World of Coca-Cola Museum in Atlanta, Georgia. A very closely guarded and best-kept secret, the formula for Coca Cola represents over 125 years of history, special moments, memories, and the timeless appeal associated with the iconic beverage. No Nigerian has successfully entered if not, we would have been the world's largest manufacturer of the well relished drink.

10. Svalbard Global Seed Vault, Spitsbergen, Norway: Granted, it’s not very likely that you’ll ever make it to the small Norwegian island of Spitsbergen, about 810 miles from the North Pole. But if you do, the Svalbard Global Seed Vault is definitely off limits. Deep inside a mountain and earthquake proof, this is where the world’s most prized crops are stored. Since 2008, almost every country in the world has entrusted the seed vault with specimens totaling more than 865,000 different samples, out of which 150,000 are rice alone. The facility on Spitsbergen serves as a backup to the more than 1,700 genebanks worldwide, ensuring against man-made or natural disasters. As the seed vault in Norway acts as a copy, no access is granted to researchers, scientists or breeders. No Nigerian has been here!

This is an effective solution for reusing the plastic. Bottles have the following advantages over bricks and other construction materials.

1. Low cost - You know how much a bottle costs!
2. Non-Brittle - (Unlike bricks)
3. Absorbs abrupt shock loads - Since they are not brittle, there can take up heavy loads without failure.
4. Bio climatic
5. Re-usable
6. Less construction material
7. Easy to build
8. Green Construction

RomanceTop Ten Facts About "Small Girls With Big Gods" by Abjay97(op): 4:54am On Nov 24, 2018

Not to be taken literally though. This is a slang used to refer to Nigerian ladies(small girls) who have sugar daddies(big gods) who lavish them with expensive clothing, luxurious bags and money. Most times, when these girls post on social media, they refer to themselves as small girls with big Giod (God almighty) but we know better! lol
Here are ten characteristics/facts they display and why any reasonable man should avoid them.

1. Materialistic Attitude: Whenever you try to take them out on a date, they go on a shopping spree, and they buy really expensive items; not careful enough to know if you have enough cash on you. Like parasites, they prey on an unsuspecting man, telling him they need to buy clothes, shoes and jewelry and when their demands are not met, they dump the man for another. Really bad

2. Complainers: You just met one of them, trying to get to know her; next thing she tells you is that she needs money to pay house bills, they complain and heap all their problems on you; expecting you to be her family savior; if you mistakenly say you cant provide help, they turn their backs on you and I am sure you will be stunned!

3. Gossips: They enjoy gossiping and they do it with so much joy and ego. They have friends and roommates back home who they tell about every single guy they encountered and how they manipulated him to spend so much on them. With these stories of success they tell, they inspire their other friends to imitate them and make some quick cash.

4. Religious: Honestly speaking, almost every Nigerian takes God serious. So don't be surprised when you see one of these shouting "The blood of Jesus" "Small girls with big gods" do not joke with prayers and they attend religious programs and events consistently; with the belief that God must be respected.

5. Immodest Dressers: They are known to flaunt their bodies, without any reservation and they do so with all pride. However it must be duly noted, that they do these to attract men who are willing to spend on them. Too bad.

6. Low Esteem: A lot of these girls, battle with depression and low esteem, many of them are not happy about the lifestyle they live; but the quest and desire to put food on the table is real; so in a passionate bid to escape poverty, they do what they know how to do best.

7. Date only Car owners: If you're broke, to own a car, clear the road! cause they wont take you serious. They don't date men without cars for reasons best known to them. The way they jump inside the front seat of a car that stops in front of them, you would marvel. They have this central belief "The better the car, the better he would lavish on you!

8. Generous Attitude: These ladies can be really generous, the fact that they make cool money from their sugar daddies does not mean they do not let go of some thousands of Naira to help fund school fees of their siblings or help solve a problem back at home. Sometimes, when they hit much money, they buy expensive items for their best of friends.

9. Good cooks: Yea, they cook well. I haven't tasted any but I have read stories where men go to their girlfriend's house for lunch; ignoring their spouses. What could that really entail if not that these ladies use well cooked foods to woo sugar daddies!

10. Unfaithful: The fact that they date numerous sugar daddies, solidifies this point. When they eventually get married, they find it difficult to stay faithful, and eventually most of their marriages ends in divorces.

LiteratureTop Ten Cursed Books You Should Never Read by Abjay97(op): 7:52pm On Nov 23, 2018
Reading books, is indeed fun. With wide ranging topics to choose from, the reader is left with no other choice than to choose the topics and categories that best suit him. However, some books are allegedly cursed and could contain some really dark, creepy facts. Here is a list of ten cursed books you should never read.

10. The Necronomicon
The Necronomicon is one of many Cursed Books You Should Never Read
Amino

The Necronomicon is a cursed and nightmarish book that’s said to contain the power to resurrect the dead. Roughly translated, its title means ‘an image of the law of the dead’ and it is described as being bound in human skin.

In the beginning, The Necronomicon was entirely fictional and existed only in the works of horror writer H.P. Lovecraft. But as its notoriety grew, real-life publishers took interest and decided to produce physical copies, which have taken various forms, including an extravagantly creepy pop-up book.

This physical version of The Necronomicon contains many allusions to Lovecraft, and prominently features his mythical monster Cthulhu. It’s developed a reputation as one of the most haunted and unnerving printed works in the world. It’s even made a mark on pop culture and has appeared everywhere from the Evil Dead and Friday the 13th franchises, to the Afterlife with Archie comics!

If you’re brave enough, you can visit Massachusetts’ Miskatonic University to check out the unabridged copy of The Necronomicon.

9. Cursed Books: The Orphan’s Story
The orphan's Story is one of many Cursed Books You Should Never Read
The Guardian

The Orphan’s Story is an epic novel about a Spaniard who heads to the Spanish Empire seeking fortune. It was written between 1608 and 1615 by Martín de León y Cárdenas, a monk who broke his sacred vow.

What’s remarkable about this novel is that it wasn’t actually published until 2018. It was almost published on several different occasions, but the publication fell through every time because those involved kept dying under mysterious circumstances.

A Peruvian academic by the name of Belinda Palacios rediscovered the manuscript hidden deep in the archives of the Hispanic Society of America in 1965. When she began working on the book, colleagues warned her of the curse that was said to linger in the pages of the ancient script. While she tried to laugh it off, she couldn’t help but be deterred by the unusual deaths that surrounded the book.

The deaths were caused by horrific car accidents and sudden and unexplainable illnesses. This, of course, informed the rumours that the book was indeed cursed, and it has taken over 400 years for someone brave enough to see the project through to completion.

8. The Book of the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage
The book of sacred magic of Ambramelin the mage is one of many Cursed Books You Should Never Read
Book Depository

The Book of the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage is a three-part fifteenth-century book of mystic arts written by Abraham for his son Lamech. It was translated to English in the year 1900 and quickly developed a reputation for being cursed.

Abraham believed that every person had their own unique ‘personal demon’. Through this book, readers could learn rituals that bring their personal demons under control. They could then learn to perform supernatural feats using sigils of magic words on a grid.

But this book has a huge downside. It’s believed anyone with a copy in their possession will be haunted by spirits from another realm. They will also experience terrible luck that will ultimately bring about their demise.

7. Cursed Books: Untitled Grimoires
The Cursed Grimoires is one of many Cursed Books You Should Never Read
Abe Books

In 2013, an online book seller sold two mysterious handwritten and spiral-bound spell books for a whopping $13,865. As the sale was being finalised, the seller warned that any non-believers who mess around with these books will bring a deadly curse upon themselves.

It’s believed that a grimoire – or witch’s spell book – must be burned after the death of the witch who wrote it. These grimoires were written by a high priestess of Wicca named Persephone Adrastea Eirene sometime in the early 1960s. It’s thought that Eirene ran her own coven and was known in her local area as someone who was to be avoided.

The two books are reworkings of her mother’s grimoire and contain vast collections of incantations, curses, spells and enchantments. There’s information on how to summon spirits, demons and other worldly entities as well as how to perform exorcisms should the spells go awry.

It’s unknown if she’s currently alive or dead, but the first pages of her books explicitly warn readers:

‘To those not of the craft – the reading of this book is forbidden! Proceed no further or justice will exact a swift and terrible retribution – and you will surely suffer at the hand of the craft’.

The buyer and location of the books is currently unknown.

Believed to have been written sometime in the early fifteenth century, The Voynich Manuscript is known as the world’s most mysterious book and ‘the Everest of historical code-breaking’. This cryptic 240-page book is written entirely in an indecipherable language. It’s also full of elaborate illustrations, but these shed no light on the mystery and are likened to something from an opium dream.

The first known owner of the book was an alchemist named Georg Baresch. Baresch had no idea what the book was or how it came to occupy space in his library. It was later owned by a string of emperors and other important members of society.

There are, of course, a range of theories surrounding The Voynich Manuscript, with many believing the text was brought to Earth by aliens and that deciphering it will unleash a curse that will kill whoever reads it.

The Lesser Key of Solomon – also known as Clavicula Salomonis Regis – is a cursed grimoire of demonology. Its original authors are unknown, and it’s said to be comprised of texts compiled sometime in the seventeenth century.

The book contains passages on how to conjure spirits of the dead and demons and how to control these entities to do your bidding. Curses and invocations also play a large role in the ancient text. Esoteric topics like how to become invisible and locate missing or stolen items are covered. Recipes for love potions and liquors of persuasion are also scattered throughout the book.

This definitely isn’t a book you want to own. It’s reportedly so cursed that it will doom anyone who keeps a copy on their bookshelf. Those who’ve owned it have reported strange occurrences, like pages turning on their own and books violently flying across the room. Strange whispers and shadow creatures have also been reported by owners of the manual.

Owning The Lesser Key of Solomon is also believed to bring about catastrophic bad luck. It’s said that the only way to break the book’s curse is to burn the pages and properly dispose of the ashes.

The Codex Gigas – AKA ‘the Devil’s Bible – is a weighty tome that dates all the way back to the twelfth century. This book weighs a whopping 165 pounds and harbours so much negative energy that it would make Stephen King blush.

The Codex Gigas is said to be written by a monk who had broken his spiritual vows. For his crime, the monk was sentenced to die entombed behind a brick wall. The night before his death, the monk began chronicling everything he knew about the human experience in a book. Realising he wouldn’t have the time to finish it, he summoned Lucifer and asked him to complete the project in exchange for his soul.

The book was then allegedly completed by the devil himself. It’s overflowing with dark rituals and imagery, and even includes nineteen-inch drawings of the devil and other demonic entities.

The Book of Soyga is a Latin essay about demonology that dates all the way back to the early sixteenth century.

Only two known copies of The Book of Soyga exist. One was owned by the scholar John Dee, who devoted his entire life to decoding it. Dee determined that the book was full of dark rituals and incantations. However, he struggled to decipher the final 36 pages. Obsessed and frustrated, Dee summoned the Archangel Uriel to help with the translation.

Speaking through Dee’s medium, Uriel explained that the book came into existence when Adam ended paradise, and that it could only be interpreted by Archangel Michael. But if you’re thinking of cracking the case yourself, beware. According to the legend, anyone who successfully deciphers the final 36 pages is fated to die within two and half years.
