LIST: Names Of 42 Sokoto State Communities That Paid N67million In Taxes To Bandits In One Week By imposing taxes on these communities, the terror group, led by Bello Turji, a notorious bandits’ leader, is raising millions of naira to build an arsenal of heavy weaponry to unleash more mayhem, FIJ reports. Terorists operating in some parts of Sokoto State have now become tax collectors after imposing levies on communities and setting payment deadline. By imposing taxes on these communities, the terror group, led by Bello Turji, a notorious bandits’ leader, is raising millions of naira to build an arsenal of heavy weaponry to unleash more mayhem, FIJ reports. Turji fled Zamfara, a neighbouring state, after military offensives against him and his cohorts. He has since built a new empire in Sokoto forest and procured more ammunition, according to confidential interviews with sources familiar with his movements. “If we don’t pay the taxes, they’ll kill our people,” a community leader in Sokoto said. “There is nothing we can do since the government has shown that they can’t help us.” Since the levies were imposed in October, residents of the affected communities have had sleepless nights rallying around to raise the funds. Over 40 under-policed villages in Sabon Birnin have had to pay over N67million to fill bandits’ pockets. Lai Muhammed, the Minister for Information and Culture, had decried the development, saying violent extremists collecting taxes from citizens across the northern parts of Nigeria are not different from street thugs extorting cash from citizens in the southern parts of the country. Meanwhile, northwest bandits are capturing villages misgoverned by state and federal authorities. On Sunday, news from Sokoto was dominated by accounts of villagers lamenting how bandits imposed new district heads on them after capturing their villages. “Some of the communities paid N1.5 million each while others paid up to N2 million or even N4 million across three wards,” FIJ quoted a villager as saying after his community paid to bandits. “Everyone in the village was asked to pay N5,000. Everybody paid. I also paid. It was compulsory payment.” A youth leader in one of the terrorised villages said complying with bandits’ directives was the only way their safety could be ensured. He said recent events in the communities had discouraged him to convince his people to vote for any politicians in subsequent elections. “Recently, we made some payments,” he said. “We paid the money not because we so wished, but because we didn’t have any other option. I observed that some villages had paid before us. Definitely, if we didn’t pay, they might attack us.” Despite paying millions to bandits, the victimised residents are still uncertain, knowing that the ongoing ceasefire is just temporary. After interviews with local sources, village heads, and community journalists, below are names of villages that have paid millions of naira in taxes to bandits; VILLAGES THAT PAID IMPOSED TAXES IN SABON BIRNIN AMOUNT PAID IN CASH 1- Kwatsal N3million 2- Kwarengamba N4million 3- Dakwaro N2.5million 4- Masawa N2milliom 5- Kuzari N2.5million 6- Dogon Marke N3million 7- Kuka N1.5million 8- Kaifin Aska N2million 9- Allakiru N2million 10- Gomozo N3million 11- Ayifara N1.5million 12- Dan Aduwa N1.5million 13- Garki N4million 14- Katuma N2.5million 15- Garin Idi N1million 16- Rambaɗawa N500,000 17- Tudun Wanda N370,000 18- Nasarawa N600,000 19- Zangon Ga Itace N300,000 20- Makuwana N1million 21- Tsauna N200,000 22- Tagirke N2.1million 23- Adarawa N1.8million 24- Atallawa N800,000 25- Kiratawa N2.1million 26- Hawan Diran N80,000 27- Dukkuma N2.1million 28- Takaki N600,000 29- Dubai N100,000 30- Dan Maliki N400,000 31- Bore N2million 32- Mallamawa N1million 33- Kimba N1.85million 34- Katsira N1.5million 35- Faru N4million 36- Dungurum N500,000 37- Jinjira N4million 38- Walkiya Sabuwa N1million 39- Walkiya Tsohuwa N300,000 40- Kitamau N600,000 41- Gangara N1.5million 42- Zangon Abamu N2million TOTAL N66,620,000 http://saharareporters.com/2021/11/10/list-names-42-sokoto-state-communities-paid-n67million-taxes-bandits-one-week |
This Buhari regime is the worst in the country's history, fake what? Is this a case of unknown police officer? Are the others arrested unknown too? Ndi ara. |
The journalist should have visited the victim in hospital to know if he actually survived the shooting, poor journalism. |
LeeSantos:go back to the news article and read it again but this time slowly. |
Nairaland have been dominated by government agents posing as either Igbo or Yoruba to cause enemity between the two tribes, nairaland moderators should curb the tribalism or watch the site slowly get degraded especially if the ban on Twitter is lifted. |

Still too high, they should just return it to where they met it when Buhari came into power. |
No Nigerian politician can be trusted, IPOB should be cautious in order not to end up like Uwazulike. |
This man have started his subtle campaign against 2023 which is why he's on the news on daily basis now proposing one solution or another but it would be in south's favour to allow the Igbos to rule their turn of 8years in peace than undermining our new found unity. |
The poor state of the Nigerian legal system should be a source of worry to all. Why all these unnecessary adjournments? |

Meanwhile, all the national security machinery are in Anambra. We know the supposed military operation in the northwest was mere noise, it's only in the east that they form Volton against unarmed people. All the security in Anambra should be moved to Zamfara state. Fulani militia taken over the country gradually. |
Gunmen suspected to be bandits have attacked Rijiya village in Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State, during which they killed six people and several others abducted. A resident of the village, Musa Sani, who fled to Gusau town, said the bandits, who were on motorcycles, came to the village around 1.30p.m., on Sunday and began to shoot at people. He said he was in the other part of the village when he heard gunshots and screaming of the villagers, who were shouting for help. This made him run to the bush for safety. Sani said: “I was in the other part of the village when I heard gunshots and the screaming of the villagers. I quickly ran to a nearby farm where I hid until the bandits left the village. “When they left the village, we discovered that they had shot and killed six people and wounded several others. “They also abducted many women and children whose number is yet to be ascertained. I decided to leave the village to Gusau for fear that the bandits might return because this is not the first time these criminals are attacking us,” Spokesperson of the state police command, Mohammed Shehu, could not be reached for comment at press time. Meanwhile, the bandits, Vanguard gathered, are still attacking the people of the state despite the security measures taken by the state government to stop the menace. Many farmers have abandoned their farmlands and could not harvest their crops due to persistent attacks by the bandits. Similarly, many villages have been deserted, while a large number of internally displaced persons have relocated to Gusau town where they begged for food. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2021/11/bandits-attack-zamfara-village-kill-6-abduct-many/amp/ |
7pages:you should have known by now that most of these guys causing bitterness online between Igbos and Yorubas are actually working for the Buhari media centre (BMC), Igbos have no reason to abuse Yorubas online, we all need to work as partners. |
Ever8090:i think you meant not ready. |
The southwest governors are not yet ready to tackle this Fulani problem before it goes out of hand, our southeast governors are the most useless, thank God for IPOB/ESN. |
Eriokanmi:who owns the said parcels of land, i'm an indigene of Anambra, if this accusation goes viral, the man's reputation is as good as gone, lives and land are sacrosanct here. Arthur Eze haven't taken anybody's life over his land grabbing to a build a university yet there was massive jubilation when a false rumour of his death spread earlier this year. Just saying. |
Eriokanmi:did he really take lives over a land dispute? |
34000 police officers plus thousands of soldiers and security operatives in Anambra should be moved to Benue, Plateau, Niger etc where Fulani bandits are killing, kidnapping, robbing and raping innocent indigenes on daily basis. They should equally go with their noisy helicopters, we in Anambra don't need it. |
90skid:the post was made in 2015 and i have abandoned the project due to work related relocation and widespread attacks/kidnapping in the area that i acquired land for it, if things calms down next year, i would go back to try it but with a budget of 3.6 million due to inflation. |
slex:Google for the x-squad numbers online. |
abeggnow:let them take all the security in the southeast to one Northern state at a time, it's where they're needed. |
FreelanceRebel:that's not a good reason, the security forces have occupied Imo in particular and the rest of the southeast and some parts of the south south for months now with regular air raids on suspected ESN bases. |
Asour:so you honestly believe that southern Kaduna have over 34, 000 police officers plus thousands of soldiers, dss, civil defense etc? We know they don't. I swear there's more than 50, 000 armed security officers in Anambra alone not to talk of other southeast states, we don't need them, we don't want them, let them be deployed where they're needed. |
When they deployed over 34,000 police officers, why didn't they plan for their feeding? Here in Onitsha, helicopters have been buzzing non stop for three days now, tens of thousands of security officials, armoured cars up and down, the question i want to ask is, why can't all these forces been deployed against Fulani terrorists in Southern Kaduna? In Niger state? Benue? Plateau etc where they are needed, the entire southeast especially Anambra and Imo are over militarized while the North that needs it against Fulani terrorists are lacking, the south and middle belt should know that disintegration of Nigeria is the only way forward. |
Check out the girl's height compared to others in that last picture. Nwa bu godu Amazon warrior. Igbo Amaka. |
akpunda86:there's nothing wrong with the dog, the local dogs are masters of foraging for food so the dog is just behaving true to it's nature. |
While in Anambra, it's one security man for every resident. Ndi ara. |
Some bandits in separate attacks invaded two villages of Yagbak and Ungwan Ruhugo in the Ayap Chiefdom of the Zango- Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Friday. A statement from the state government simply indicated that lives were lost, but it was gathered that no fewer than 10 persons were killed during the attack on one of the villages. According to the state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, some people were killed while houses were razed in attacks on two locations of Yagbak and Ungwan Ruhugo in Zango-Kataf. He also said the governor had directed the State Emergency Management Agency to carry out an assessment and provide relief materials to the affected communities. The statement titled, ‘Lives lost, houses burnt in attack in Zangon Kataf LGA’, read, “The military and police authorities have informed the Kaduna State Government of attacks in two locations, Yagbak and Ungwan Ruhugo, in Zangon Kataf LGA.” When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mohammad Jalige, could not be reached as his telephone rang out while there was no response to a text message by our correspondent. https://punchng.com/gunmen-kill-scores-burn-houses-in-southern-kaduna/?amp |
Broveens42:it would be impossible to prove without bringing Buhari to ridicule. Dna tests from both Buhari, his siblings, children and the remains of his late parents would be needed and might not still be enough to win the case, besides that case would likely be a civil case between Buhari and Kanu without the government getting directly involved, Buhari can't win any case with his dull baba goes slow approach, Kanu would use him to mop the court floor. |
Broveens42:exactly, that was why when the northern youths wanted to talk tough like IPOB, they ended up issuing a quit notice that even attracted the condemnation of the UN, IPOB weighs their words legally while still sounding tough. |
Broveens42:you're making sense but i think the warning from the American government is why they initially released a prees release saying that they only ordered a voluntary sit at home and not an election boycott and followed it up with another press release cancelling the sit at home even though they know that people would still observe it. |
