Do you know that it effaces sin ? Now that you know you will be rewarded for it, The Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) said 'there is no reward for deeds done out of ignorance'.

This is why many scholars agreed that the prayer of one who does not know the fardh, sunnah, wajib, mustahab and makruh and ruknul solah (solat) will not be accepted, you have to know the reason and details for that obligation. Allah knows best
