Politics / Rivers: We Did Not Lose, We Were Robbed – APC Chieftain by aceguy1(m): 11:38am On Apr 18, 2015
By Davies Iheamnachor
PORT HARCOURT – A chieftain of the All
Progressives Congress, APC, who doubles as the
lawmaker representing Emohua constituency in the
Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Chidi Lloyd
has said his party did not lose the keenly
contested election in the state rather was robbed
of its sure victory.
The Majority Leader in RSHA who is also seeking
fourth term bid into the state legislature on the
platform of APC disclosed this while reacting to the
cancellation of the State House of Assembly
election in his LG. He alleged that the APC was
robbed of its victory by the PDP with the
connivance of the INEC and the security operatives.
Lloyd said that the APC did its homework
thoroughly through campaigns and was able to be
having the majority of people on its side, adding
that the people of the state were not allowed to
express their will at the poll.
He said the result of the election does not reflect
the will of the people of the state, stressing that all
the electoral principles laid by the INEC were
totally breached by the PDP. He called on the
Rivers people to protest against the result which
does not show their will.
“We campaigned to the voters on our pedigree and
we convinced the voters to vote for APC but little
did we know that they had some corrupt officials of
the INEC who were sent here with a script on what
to do in Rivers state. And the Resident Electoral
Commissioner shamelessly came here to supervise
this kind of social ebola that has taken place in
Rivers state.”
“If in a local government area two elections were
conducted simultaneously what was the premise
on which one was announced and the other
cancelled. That is what I keep telling people at
different fora that what happened in Rivers state on
the 28th of March and on the 11 of April are just a
political telemundo.”
“An election that has been acclaimed by the
national and international observers to be flawed
with violence; in fact one of the groups said the
election did not meet the minimum requirement set
by the INEC, yet a cooked result was announced.”

Politics / Women Threaten To Protest In Taraba If Female Gov Candidate Is Intimidated by aceguy1(m): 6:45am On Apr 18, 2015
Two Non-governmental Organisations, Ladies of
Grace and Agape Sisters, have threatened to
protest on April 25 if the female
governorship candidate in the Taraba
governorship race, Senator Aisha Alhassan, is
intimidated.
Coordinator of Agape Sisters, Jean Onuh, issued
the threat in Abuja on Friday, April 17, when
she briefed newsmen on the Taraba run-off
election.
Onuh said Senator represents the interest of
Nigerian women in the Taraba governorship poll
holding on April 25.
She alleged that Alhassan is being intimidated
by her opponents and officials of the
Independent Electoral commission (INEC).
"We would have remained quiet and very neutral
but for our disadvantaged background and the
clamour to sustain the goals set for Nigerian
women in the post Beijing Conference.
"We dare warn of adverse consequences should
the establishment known as the Taraba cabal
insist on intimidating a female contestant in the
race.
"We will mobilise hundreds of thousands of
Nigerian women to protest on April 25, if
any official behaves funny,’’ Onuh said.
She called on all involved in the Taraba poll to
remain neutral and urged registered voters,
especially women, to ignore all kinds of
intimidation to come out and cast their votes for
Alhassan.

Politics / David-west To Okonjo-iweala: Buhari Doesn’t Need Your Advice by aceguy1(m): 4:16pm On Apr 17, 2015
A former Minister of Petroleum, Prof. Tam David-West, has replied the Minister of Finance and coordinating minister of the economy, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, over her advice on how the incoming administration of Gen Muhammadu Buhari can increase revenue, saying the new president does not need her expertise.

David-West, who spoke to our reporter in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital Friday, said Buhari is highly experienced in the art of governance, stressing that he knows what to do to manage the economy well.
He said that while Okonjo-Iweala supervises a Nigerian economy where a United States (US) dollar exchanges for N190, Buhari, during his days as the Head of State, supervised an economy where N1 exchanged for US$1.5.

His words: “I read Okonjo-Iweala’s advice to Gen. Buhari on how to raise revenue with interest and amusement. I don’t think that Buhari needs any advice from her on the subject. He is not new on the terrain. He is a very knowledgeable person on how to move the economy forward. I don’t believe he needs advice from Okonjo-Iweala.

“When Buhari was in charge, oil was $30 per barrel. It even went down to $15 per barrel. Yet, he managed the economy very well. Oil price is now double that price and they are complaining that oil price has fallen.

“Buhari can manage the economy better than Okonjo-Iweala. He never took International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan neither did he flirt with IMF. He refused to devalue the Naira in spite of the problem the country was facing from different areas. $1.5 exchanged for N1. But during Okonjo-Iweala’s time, it is N190 to $1.

“Finally, it was N2 to £1. During Okonjo-Iweala’s time, it is N240 to £1. Buhari did not import fuel; he was exporting whereas Okonjo-Iweala imports fuel with bogus subsidy running to trillions of Naira. And she has not been able to arrest anyone involved in subsidy scam let alone get a refund from any of them.

“Nigeria is the only country in the world where Okonjo-Iweala is the Finance Minister and coordinating the economy where provision is made for fraud in the annual budget by way of subsidy. So, Buhari does not need her advice.”

Politics / Pdp Not Dead, Says Aliyu by aceguy1(m): 9:23pm On Apr 15, 2015
Niger state governor, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu
has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP) is not dead. He predicted that the party will
bounce back in 2019 to take what it lost in the just
concluded general elections.
Aliyu stated this when the Umar Nasko Campaign
organization led by Alhaji Aminu Yusuf Wushishi
visited him in Government House Minna, to inform
him of plans by the PDP to meet at states and
federal levels to correct its mistakes.
According to him, “Our party is not dead. When all
these cools down, we will properly re-organize to
bring PDP back to its formidable political strength.
Many things have happened and this is not the
time for us to cast blames.”
“I therefore hope that the time we will have to re-
organize our party we would add more ideology to
what we have. Let me urge you to stop thinking
you have failed. In terms of elections, particularly
the time we found ourselves, it went beyond the
limits of individual effort”.
Aliyu thanked electorates in the state for
conducting themselves in the most peaceful
manner. He noted that the elections were free and
fair – devoid of electoral violence.
Earlier Wushishi, the leader of team hailed
Governor Aliyu over the way and manner he took
the elections despite results were not in favour of
the PDP. He said the governor exhibited the
character of a good leader.
He urged Aliyu not to be dismayed by the result
adding that he has done well in the area of
dividend of democracy. He said the challenge was
the fact that Nigeria electorates were conclusive in
the area of voting for a particular political party
regardless of their candidate.
“ We will continue to be with you wherever you go.
You can always count on us whenever you need
us. We have seen your work in all the 25 Local
Government Areas of Niger State. May God
continue to bless and guide you in your future
endeavor,” Aliyu said.

Politics / Buhari, Let There Be Light – Power First by aceguy1(m): 7:20am On Apr 13, 2015
“Let there be light”
It was in my Junior (third year) at the university, in
the USA, when I undertook a study titled
COMPARATIVE RELIGION, when the discovery was
made. Until then I was under the mistaken
impression that there were two religions in the
world – Christianity and Islam. But, very soon,
after arriving in the US in 1964, armed with an
American Government Scholarship, a third religion
was added to the list – Judaism.
But, it was not until 1966 that the revelation came
through this course that there are more than 1000
religions worldwide. Among the most common
beliefs of virtually all religions in the idea that God/
Allah/Yahweh etc ordered light to be created as a
pre-condition to other acts of creation and
development.
Granted our nation faces several problems calling
for urgent attention – mostly Boko Haram and
general insecurity, corruption, unacceptably high
unemployment, equitable distribution of the
dividends of democracy, infrastructure, education,
health, etc – but, one item on the national agenda
which will speed up progress on the rest is POWER
SUPPLY.
Supply has been emphasized because, the
outgoing governments and its Ministers of Power,
as well as praise-singers, had wasted their time
and money during the campaigns pointing to
increased generating capacity.
What they failed to understand, or, more likely
deliberately ignored is the matter of distribution;
meaning supply to homes. Let me illustrate what is
meant by this from my days as a Marketing/Sales
executive. Most brands fail because the brand
owners fail to bring the product close enough to
the consumer. Infant milk is an example.
Every nursing mother knows that when you have a
baby yelling for food at two in the morning, the
baby milk in a store, miles away, is a distinctly
different product from the one in the refrigerator.
Jonathan’s Ministers, who became jesters with
their failed promises on power supply had
concentrated on production without taking
corresponding steps to ensure that the power
reaches consumers. Till today, the daily power
supply to Nigeria is under 4000MW, irrespective of
what the production capacity is. That level of
power output cannot get us anywhere.
It is remarkable that the best Nigeria had been able
to do was achieved in December 2012, when we
attended 4517MW of power supplied. That was two
years and three months ago. That feat, hardly
worthy of a nation destined for greatness, had not
been equaled since. The most obvious question is:
what had the government been doing in twenty
seven months if it could not, at least, maintain that
level?
Worse still, if in two years, the nation had actually
lost ground, when are we ever going to progress?
Clearly, no progress had been made in twenty
seven months if today we cannot receive 4517MW
steady supply. More to the point; how could the
outgoing President, knowing the lack of progress
in power SUPPLIED have kept the Minister who had
failed him and the nation so woefully? And, how
could the out-going President tell Nigerians that
he had fulfilled his campaign promises?
Were we promised that there would be no progress
on power supply in twenty seven months, while
officials earned their huge emoluments? When was
such a promise made to us? President-elect
Buhari must recognize that there will be no
significant progress on all fronts until there is
substantial increase in power supply. To this he
must address himself urgently.
Unfortunately, that will require going and digging
up a lot of dirt buried by his predecessors. Several
contractors are still seating on our funds for
contracts not fully executed ot even totally
abandoned. It would amount to monumental folly
to go around seeking for loans to undertake the
task on hand when Obasanjo, Yar’Adua and
Jonathan had drawn down billions of dollars to
increase our capacity to 10,000MW without doing
it.
Articles which will follow will detail the list of
known contracts which are yet to yield results.
Something must happen. The contractors must
either complete the jobs or refund our money. All
economies, even from primitive times, have always
run on energy; the more a nation can generate the
faster it can transform the resources at its disposal
to benefits for its people.
We lag behind because we are currently failing to
generate the power to make rapid progress. Buhari
can change a lot of things simply by altering the
power supply situation as fast as possible. Once
he gets that underway, he can start chasing the
crooks who stole our funds. Even there, he would
need to fast track. There is already sufficient
information in the public domain fro him to start
with – before going into the secret official files
which will reveal more information. He will receive
all the help he needs from me – whether he asks
for it or not.

Politics / Guber Poll: Observers Call For Cancellation Of Rivers Result by aceguy1(m): 8:48pm On Apr 12, 2015
International election observers on Sunday called
for the cancellation of the Governorship and House
of Assembly elections in Rivers.
The leader of African Centre for Leadership
Strategies and Development, Mr Humphrey
Bekaren, who spoke on behalf of the observers,
made the call in Port Harcourt.
He said the observers were shocked that INEC
disregarded the widely reported violent
irregularities to begin the process of declaring
results in the state.
‘’ We request all lovers of democracy to join us in
calling for the outright cancellation of the phony
election.
‘’ Unless this is done, we would have sown the
seed that could eventually grow into providing a
shade of fear and death over us,’’ he said.
According to Bekaren, what happened in Rivers
was a far cry from what election should be.
‘’ What we saw did not meet international standard
of electioneering, not even the ones set by the
Independent National Electoral Commission INEC,’’
he said.
He said there were reported incidents like
deliberate delays and diversion of electoral
materials, attacks on electoral officers, widespread
arson and voter intimidation.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner for Rivers,
Mrs Gesila Khan, said INEC cancelled election in
centres with reported electoral malpractices.
She said re-run elections took place in six local
government areas in the state where electoral
malpractices were reported.
He had also served with the Bauchi state
government from 1983 to 1992, rising to the
position of a Deputy Director, before transferring
his service to the Nigeria Deposit Insurance
Corporation, where he finally delved into the private
sector as a professional builder.

Politics / Inec’s Team Probes Alleged Irregularities In Rivers Polls - PUNCH by aceguy1(m): 8:38pm On Mar 30, 2015
The Independent National Electoral Commission

A statement by the Secretary to the commission,

Politics / APC Condemns Election Violence In Gombe, Rivers by aceguy1(m): 9:20pm On Mar 28, 2015
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly
condemned the
violence perpetrated against its members in
Gombe and Rivers State during Saturday’s
elections, saying violence has no place in any
democracy.
In a statement issued in Lagos on Saturday by its
National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed,
the party in particular condemned the collusion
between INEC and the PDP, aided by the security in
Rivers, saying what transpired in the state is
nothing but a travesty of elections.
”INEC practically handed over the elections to the
PDP in Rivers, depriving APC strongholds of men
and material. In Okrika, materials arrived and were
taken to the home of the State Secretary for PDP
Ibibia Walter, while all units in Ahoada East and
Omuma LGAs do not have result sheets. To
worsen matters, PDP thugs unleashed mayhem on
APC voters, killing one member in Tai Local
Government and harassing a serving
Commissioner.
”Simply put, there was an orchestrated, massive
disenfranchisement in APC strongholds,” it said.
APC also condemned the killing of eight of the
party’s members, one of them a serving member
of the House of Assembly, in Gombe State on
Saturday, saying it was aimed at intimidating its
members and preventing them from coming out to
vote.
The party also said there is a plan to rob former
Governor Danjuma Gombe of victory in his
senatorial district, as the military commander and
the police commissioner in the state are trying to
orchestrate a crisis so they can arrest the former
Governor and putting him away.
It therefore called for an end to the violence,
harassment and
intimidation of its members in the state.

Politics / Sambo Delivers Polling Unit, Defeats APC by aceguy1(m): 8:07pm On Mar 28, 2015
Vice President Namadi Sambo, after several
defeats at his polling unit by opposition party,
trounced the All Progressives Congress at his new
polling unit in the Saturday’s presidential and
National Assembly elections.
In the 2011 general elections, Sambo was roundly
defeated in his polling unit, ward and local
government.
However, in the Saturday’s polls, the Returning
Officer, Olorufemi Raphael, while announcing the
result at the Kabala Doki Ward 5, Police College
polling unit 11, said PDP polled 105 votes, APC
20 votes, NCP 01, and while APA 01.
The Vice President had earlier, on the eve of the
Saturday’s election, relocated his polling unit from
Link/Camp Road to swimming pool road by the
Kaduna Police College fence.
The result of the wards and the Kaduna North LGA
were still being awaiting as of the time of filing
this result.
This will determine the overall victory of the PDP

Politics / APC Wins In Obasanjo’s Ward In Ogun by aceguy1(m): 7:50pm On Mar 28, 2015
The Presidential and National Assembly elections
in Ogun State held, Saturday was peaceful with
little skirmishes in various parts of the state.
The All Progressives Congress seems to be in
early leads in some polling units so far as at the
time of filing this report .
At ward 11, polling unit 2, Olusomi’s compound in
Sokori, Abeokuta, where Obasanjo cast his vote,
APC won with wide margin.
Also, at Ajura ward 4 in Obafemi-Owode where
Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun
cast his vote, APC won with wide margin.
Meanwhile, some candidates of Senate and House
of Representatives in the state as well as some
politicians and electorates were disenfranchised
following their inability to obtain Permanent Voter
Cards.
Some of the candidates who were disenfranchised
include, APC Senate candidate from Ogun Central,
Lanre Tejuoso , APC House of Representatives
candidate, Mikhail Kazeem and former Special
Assistant to former President Obasanjo on women
affairs, Chief Mrs.Titilayo Ajanaku.
Others who could ot vote were all electorate in
ward 11 unit 21 as officials of Independent National
Electoral Commissions failed to show up.
Also at ward 10 unit 1 and 2 in Abeokuta North out
of 704 registered voters only 18 people had PVCs
and were allowed to cast their vote.
At Ward 15, Unit 13 Polling Centre, Omida,
Abeokuta, Buhari polled 118 votes, while Peoples
Democratic Party got 47.
Again at Ward 1, Unit 8, Ilawo Abeokuta North
Local Government, Buhari polled 129, as againt
Jonathan’s 28. At Ward 1, Unit 4, Buhari scored
129, while Jonathan managed to get 14.
Also, results coming in from National Assembly
elections, showed that APC candidates have
defeated most of the PDP candidates; for example
at Ward 15, Unit 13, for House of Representatives,
APC candidate scored 49, while PDP candidate
scored 16 and Social Democratic Party (PDP)
polled nine. For the Senate, APC scored 49, PDP
21 and SDP 7.
At Obasanjo’s ward, APC polled 98 as against
PDP’s 8 and SDP 12 for the House of
Representatives seat. For Senate, APC got 93, PDP
8 and SDP 15.
At Ward 1, Unit 8, Ilawo, Abeokuta North local
government, for the House of Representatives, APC
scored 125 as against PDP’s 27. For the Senate,
APC polled 126, PDP 28, SDP 3 and Unity Party of
Nigeria (UPN), got 1.
At Ward 1, Unit 4, Abeokuta North, for the House of
Representatives, APC scored 126, PDP 17, while
SDP got 5. For the Senate, APC polled 116 as
against PDP’s 21 and SDP 9.
Reports from many part of the state, indicated that
the APC was leading in almost all the centres.
The race was however, neck to neck between APC
and PDP in Ijebu area of the state.
The election was peaceful, as there was not major
incident recorded so far.
The former president, who spoke shortly after he
was accredited by electoral officers at African
Grammar School polling unit, Ward 11 in Abeokuta
North Local Government of Ogun state, said that
the election ” is a constitutional issue and every
four years whether for all elective officers in
Nigeria, we must go through this ritual”.
He added: “What I have gone through is very okay,
they checked my card, my finger print and they
said it was okay and that I should come back and
vote.”
Ashimu Argungun, Deputy Inspector General of
Police, Southwest zone, also said: “The election is
perfectly alright, the election is going on smoothly,
not only here, as you know, I am DIG Ashimu
Argungun in charge of the Southwest for the
election, almost from Lagos down to here and
other Southwest, things are going on perfectly as
expected, everybody is conducting themselves in
line with the dictates of the election exercise.
“In terms of peace, everything is going on
peacefully, I can rate the level of peaceful conduct
at 9+ per cent, even above that, in terms of peace
even everywhere I visited, no fight, no argument of
whatsoever.”
In Ogun state, security agencies, including Army,
Police, Civil Defence, SSS and other paramilitary
were seen at every strategic points and polling
units manning INEC sensitive materials and
supporting electoral officers at polling booths,
although there were some good numbers of men of
Nigerian Army barricading major roads and streets,
especially entry and exit roads in major cities of
the state.
Large turnout was witnessed almost every where in
Ogun state despite heavy rain in Ado-Odo/Ota and
some part of Ijebu in Ogun east, but defied rainfall
and went to cast their ballots in a very peaceful
manner, just as the observers were even ‘jobless’
since there were no strong challenges to attend to.
Although, some challenges were encountered in
some polling units in Ado-Odo/Ota, Abeokuta,
Ilaro, Owode, Ijebu-Igbo, Ijebu-Ode, Sagamu
among others as a result of malfunction and slow
pace of card readers, INEC was however beat the
situation as alternatives were provided in form of
incidence forms to ease the voting processes in
the affected areas.
But, findings in Ijebu-Igbo in Ijebu in Ijebu North
local government area of the state was worrisome
as voters were sighted collecting N2, 000 for each
vote cast in virtually all the polling units visited
were indicated that voters showed their ballot
papers to party agents after casting their votes.
The voters were immediately and subsequently
directed to another group of about five people who
gave them money for voting their candidates.
Ijebu-Igbo is the hometown of the Senatorial
Candidates of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP
Buruji Kashamu and Adegbenga Kaka of Social
Democratic Party (SDP)
A beneficiary, who was also a voter in the axis told
news men after voting said he received N2, 000 for
voting for PDP candidate.
He explained that he was at the voting center
purposely to vote for Kashamu and no other
candidate adding that they were properly trained
on how to get their money after showing evidence
of voting.

Politics / Yoruba Elders Split Over Jonathan, Buhari by aceguy1(m): 7:07am On Mar 20, 2015
LAGOS — THE South-West geo-political zone was split, yesterday, as Yoruba leaders and elders were sharply divided over who to vote for in the March 28 presidential polls between President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Divided into two groups, the leaders held parallel summits in Ibadan and Lagos and took divergent positions on what the Yoruba should do in the coming elections with reasons. While those at the Ibadan gathering were mostly for Buhari, the Lagos crowd rooted for Jonathan.

Those at the event included Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Samuel Odulana; General Alani Akinrinade (retd), Governors Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo) and Rauf Aregbesola (Osun), Chief Rita Lori-Ogbebor and Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

In Lagos for President Jonathan were Chief Ayo Adebanjo, Governor Olusegun Mimiko, Dr Frederick Fasehun, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro and Chief Olabode George among others.

Politics / No Waiting At Polling Booths After Voting – IG by aceguy1(m): 5:31am On Mar 20, 2015
The Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba,
on Thursday warned voters to go back to their
homes after casting their votes on election days.
Abba, who addressed accredited observers for
the general elections in Abuja, said the
possibility of committing electoral offence was
very high if voters stayed back at the polling
booths for votes to be counted.
He said that each polling unit would have at least
two or three policemen to protect the votes cast
by the electorate.
The IG said, ‘‘Two to three police officers will be
attached to each polling unit, and we would
provide more officers for the collation centres and
for the managers of the elections.
“We will go on to protect the electorate. Every
eligible voter should feel safe enough to cast his
votes. We will be there to protect the votes and
make sure no one disrupts the process.
“Cast your votes and go and cool down. If you
remain there, there is a likelihood that you will
commit an offence.’’
The police chief advised political parties and
their candidates to abide by “one agent to a
polling unit,” which the electoral act stipulates.
“Asking voters to wait and protect their votes
implies taking the law into their own hands. It is
unacceptable,” he said.
Abba said the police were aware of threats by
some politicians to declare parallel election
results and warned that his men would deal with
such act within the ambit of the law.
He added, “We have heard some people are
threatening to declare election results; we hope it
is not true. If you don’t accept the declared result
by INEC (Independent National Electoral
Commission), the best way is to proceed to the
tribunal.
In advanced democracies, people don’t take the
law into their own hands but resort to tribunals.
“The refusal to accept the result and resort to
extrajudicial activities is a threat to the electoral
process. But where they don’t heed the appeal,
the police will act within the law to protect the
electoral process.”
The IG said that the police would be loyal to the
country, the constitution and all democratic
activities before, during and after the elections in
which 56,000 Nigerian Security and Civil Defence
Corps officials and 129,000 non-regular personnel
would be part of the security arrangements.
While disclosing that the police have “arrested
thousands of thugs” and “recovered hundreds of
firearms” he condemned the recruitment of
miscreants by politicians to achieve their goals.
Abba noted that lateness in commencement of
voting, delay in the provision of electoral
materials, rigging and manipulation of results were
serious threats to electoral process.
He advised INEC to fasten the process of
accreditation of voters on election days.
The IG also said in a statement on Thursday that
he had ordered tight security around all key and
vulnerable points, including the headquarters and
offices of INEC and media houses.
Also to witness improved security are Internally
Displaced Persons camps, service provider
installations, banks, hospitals, National Youth
Service Corps lodges, hotels and government
offices.
The measure, according to him, is to ward off
possible attempt by hoodlums to attack such
places .
Abba urged the public to remain steadfast in
collaborating with policemen to stamp out crimes,
“as the police have perfected strategies to prepare
a safe and secure ground to guarantee hitch-free
March 28 and April 11, 2015 elections.”
Efforts to speak with the APC spokesman, Lai
Mohammed, did not yield result as calls to his
telephone rang out.
He also did not respond to a text message sent to
him.
Meanwhile, Abba has called for improved synergy
between the police and para-military agencies
under the Ministry of Interior for enhanced
security during and after the polls.
The IG made the call when he visited the Minister
of Interior, Abba Moro, to strategise on better
ways of guaranteeing security during the
elections.
He commended the efforts of security agencies in
assisting the police in protecting lives and
property, saying a lot has been done to ensure
that security officers deployed for the polls
adhered to best practices.
The minister also expressed satisfaction with the
synergy between the paramilitary agencies and
the police.
He noted that the rivalry that had earlier existed
between the men of the NPF and other security
agencies had been curbed.
“I am pleased to note that the networking between
the police and the para-military services during
your tenure is commendable,” Moro said.
The minister announced that 56,000 NSCDC
personnel and 129,000 non-regular personnel of
the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps,
would be mobilised for the elections.
He also appealed to the IG to beef up security in
Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State
where Fulani herdsmen killed over 80 people last
Sunday.
