Former President Jonathan said during his reception in Bayelsa yesterday that before he became deputy governor of the state, he had no interest in politics. Narrating how he dabbled into politics, Jonathan said,
“It all started with me and Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha. I knew Alamieyeseigha when he wanted to contest the governorship of Bayelsa State under the defunct United Nigeria Congress Party. That was the first time I knew Alamieyeseigha. We formed groups in every local governments – two persons to sign petition to enable Alamieyeseigha to contest. But a late Chief Judge asked me and one person from Ogbia to sign the petition. Even though I was a civil servant, I signed the document. I was in the Oil Mineral Producing Areas Development Commission then. Of course, when he started his campaign, I joined.
Not because I was interested in any elective office, but what drove me into joining Alamieyeseigha’s team was that those of us from very small communities always have problems and sometimes you have to run to government for assistance. I felt that if I worked with him and luckily he won, I would know some of the people in government.
“When electioneering started after Abdusalami Abubakar took over, Alamieyeseigha did not call me. But somewhere along the line because we had worked together, one evening, one Bozimo and another person came to my house and asked me to run with Alamieyeseigha as deputy governor.
“I was living in Port Harcourt then and I knew how primaries work and I said I would think about it. In fact, the following day, I told Bozimo that I was not interested, but the whole thing changed later. The detail will come later. That was how Bozimo and Alamieyeseigha brought me in and during the election, we won.
“From 1999 to date, my people and Nigerians have given me rare opportunity, rare privilege. I was deputy governor, governor, vice-president and President of the country. I am grateful to all Nigerians.”
“Nigerians have given me so much that I cannot stay back. That is why I maintain that we need peace in this country. We need development in this country. Political crises don’t bring development. And I believe the new administration will work with all Nigerians and make sure Nigerians are happy. I am indeed happy about the statement the President made that he did not belong to any clique, but to Nigerians. I congratulate him for that..

I must commend, you are a girl with large heart,..you've always tried to swim to the tides of every situation,I will advice you keep it up(it will save your marriage the more). No marriage is perfect, issues are bound to arise, just try and be diplomatic in ur dealings, settle the differences btw ur mum and ur hubby peacefully, you can talk it over in bed, make ur mum pay a short surprise visit...don't let the the issue with ur MIL affect you, if she does not want interference "sideline" her, but don't keep grudges, u can even pay her a surprise courtesy visit with ur kids(maintaining an arms length relationship)..uv got enough reason to be thnkful to God for giving you a settled home and a great career. don't allow that ugly events to dig holes of resentments and bitterness in ur home, rather build your home with love..God bless u

The Council of Legal Education has adjudged the Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin, the best in the country, based on the cumulative performance of its products in the 2014 Bar Final Examinations of the Nigerian Law School.
The Council’s verdict was contained in the Report of the Ad-Hoc Committee it set up to assess the performance of students at the August 2014 Bar Final Examinations. The Ad-Hoc Committee was headed by the Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ade Ipaye.
According to the Committee's Report students from the University of Ilorin Law Faculty beat products of other universities' Law Faculties in the Bar Examinations. Other universities in the top five category are the University of Lagos (2nd), the University of Ibadan (3rd), the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (4th) and the University of Uyo/Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (5th).
In the 2012 and 2013 Bar Final Examinations, the University of Ilorin consistently came second. And apart from the University of Lagos that has closely run neck-to-neck with Unilorin in the last three years, coming fifth in 2012, and third in 2013, no other University appeared consistently on the Top 5 Table in the three years under review.
For instance, Babcock University that led the pack in 2012 has not returned to the Top 5 Table since then. Likewise, the University of Ado-Ekiti that came first in 2013 is not even listed among the top 5 in 2014.
The Report noted that while some universities have consistently been in the bottom 5, the University of Ilorin and the University of Lagos have consistently been in the top 5 in the last three years with Ilorin coming clearly ahead even in consistency rating.
This Ad-Hoc Committee was set up in response to growing worries over poor performance of Law students from various Faculties of Law from different Nigerian Universities. It was charged with the duty to review the result of the last Bar Final Examination vis-a-vis the performance of different Law Faculties; examine the teaching methods and facilities available for use at the Nigerian Law School and identify reasons why some campuses perform better than others; as well as examine the performance of students over the past five years so as to make comparative analyses, among others.
In its findings, the Committee noted that the “inability of various Faculties of Law to have uninterrupted academic activities in a Semester as prescribed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) for LL.B students contributed to declining standards”. It added that “in a bid to meet the Nigerian Law School calendar, some Faculties of Law abridged their programme to compensate for incessant strike actions and other disruptions”.

kwasu is sure the fastest..they write all exams in one week, there graduates serves with 'batch B'..but I most confess Most of there student are not Happy being a student, they rush them unnecessary. Immagine writing 3-4 papers a day for almost a week..Haba!
