Politics / Re: Cleric Faults Soyinka Over Same-sex Marriage by achukwunet(f): 5:32am On Dec 23, 2011 |
oh don't give me that. Nigeria has MUCH BIGGER issues to be worrying about rather than same sex marriage. Clean Water The Educational System Electricity/Light Corruption in Government Public Transportation Pollution of skies/waters Poverty Children Dying Dirty public areas If anything, Nigeria is in shambles. THe government doesn't have time to waste on this issue. There's bigger theings to be worrying about. Tell me I'm wrong. |

ALL of you out there against same sex marriage, who are you to tell these people what they can and can't do!?!? I don't see gays or anyone else telling you what you can or can't do in your life! Let them live in peace! You all claim that you're children of "GOD", Children of "GOD" let others live their lives the way they want them to and mind their own business. You should all be ashamed of yourselves |

Naledi14: I don't think it's culture. Is it culture for men and women to urinate on the sides of roads or far into distant bushes? |
Health / Do Nigerians Have Public Manners? by achukwunet(f): 8:46pm On Dec 14, 2011 |
When I visited Nigeria last December, I was shocked by all the trash I was looking at (I visited Lagos & Onitcha for a month). Then, I also saw men peeing on the sides of roads. No big deal, people do that where I live, ONLY IF THEY REALLY HAVE TO. Not only did I see men doing this, but women as well. Women who would pull up their wrappers and pee, then use the same wrapper to clean themselves up. These men and women would walk around with those same dirty hands and shake hands with other people, purchase food, and consume the food in which they bought. Yet when people wonder why diseases fly around Nigeria like crazy, they only imagine where they come from. Be it dirty gutters or dirty hands, Nigeria seriously needs a cleaning job.

It's one thing to execute a guilty criminal. But to sign the "ok" for an innocent man to be executed is another thing. Davis, 41, was convicted of the 1989 murder of Mark Allen MacPhail, an off-duty Savannah, Ga. police officer. MacPhail, who was running to the aid of a homeless man being pistol-whipped, was shot three times in a Burger King parking lot before he could draw his weapon. Davis has always maintained his innocence, and several witnesses who testified at his trial have since recanted or backed away from their testimony, alleging they were improperly pressured by police. The case has generated worldwide attention, with opponents of the death penalty depicting Davis' case as a perfect example of the inherently flawed system of capital punishment. Davis' supporters have sponsored a series of protests and fundraisers for his case in New York, Washington D.C., Paris and Oslo. Last week, supporters delivered petitions with about 650,000 signatories calling on Georgia state authorities to free Davis. If you know setting this man free is the right thing to do, I suggest you follow the instructions posted below by signing this petition OR Calling Judge Penny Freeman. FLOOOOOD her inbox as much as you can! http://signon.org/sign/stop-the-execution-of?source=mo&id=31059-14961572-UKh0A_x Call Judge Penny Freesemann at 912 652 7252 to save Troy Davis. She has the power to pull the death warrant. The DA can ask her to rescind the warrant or she could rescind it directly. We'll look for an email, |
